A good restaurant with rustic decor, centrally located. The waiter is attentive and competent. The kitchen offers good, refined dishes and a variety of beers, with no waiting time. Definitely recommended. We'll certainly be back...

The food was quite good, but my schnitzel was the size of a child's portion, which is unacceptable since mine cost more. The service started off well, but then a large group of people arrived and stood around chatting instead of sitting down (very annoying). As a result, our plates weren't cleared, and we weren't asked if we wanted anything else! It started well but ended rather badly. I might have ordered dessert, but not like that! What a shame.

Good afternoon, we ate here on a lovely Sunday evening. The initial impression and the ambiance were very nice, but unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. We waited 30 minutes for a server, and the portions were quite small for the price. The schnitzel was an absolute disgrace; the meat was tough and had hardly any flavor. The menu listed two schnitzels, but there was only one on the plate, and it was very bland. The three fries that came with it left me hungry that evening. Definitely not recommended!

The tortellini al forno were completely oversalted, the pizza was below frozen quality, the schnitzel had hardly any flavor, and they said there would be two, but there was only one, and very few fries. All in all, not recommended.

We were there for lunch as a couple. The service was exceptionally friendly, and the decor was in a tavern style. The food, the dressing on the side salad, and the salad itself were excellent. But the dumplings with mushrooms? We had four firm dumplings, similar to bread dumplings. The cream sauce was good, but where were the mushrooms? There were maybe three chopped button mushrooms, which is far too few for a mushroom sauce. Overall, we were still satisfied with the experience. The price was reasonable.

Due to the many bad reviews, I was very skeptical about Manin, but for the most part, we weren't disappointed. We went there yesterday for the all-you-can-eat tarte flambée, where it's truly all you can eat, and you don't get looked at strangely if you eat more than usual. *Service* Top-notch, 5 stars. Our server was Abbaz. Super friendly, very attentive, and fast! He definitely enhances this restaurant! *Food* 3-5* The tarte flambée was very good, except for the mushroom and Nutella tarte flambée. I thought the Nutella would be a bit creamy, but it was very baked. Schnitzel: My friend had a creamy schnitzel. We all tried it, but the four of us didn't like it at all. Ambience: The ambiance was cozy, and we were satisfied. It was easy to have a good conversation. It wasn't too loud!

A great restaurant in a great place

The breakfast for €9.90 was lower-middle-class for me. We had breakfast at Manin for the first time on Wednesday, October 15th, quite early in the morning. It will stay that way... The baked goods were half-baked, the pretzels were overcooked and dry, the white sausages on offer were cold and the flavor was gone! ...and that scrambled egg mixture was a no-go 🙈 . The salami, cooked ham, and cheese were okay, as was the jam. The only fresh sausage was meatloaf. The natural yogurt wasn't even stirred until smooth, and the whey residue was unsightly. There are much better places to go for breakfast. Just because something is "in" doesn't automatically mean it's good, and that's been proven again. In conclusion.....a waste of money. Unfortunately, I don't recommend it.

When I was having trouble finding a taxi late at night, one of the staff kindly helped me get one, and thanks to that, I was able to reach my destination safely. I’m very grateful.

We went there to eat to celebrate our grandfather's birthday. It started as soon as we arrived. We sat down, and the waiter was very rude when taking our drink order. When a friend asked for a glass of beer, she was rudely stressed with the reply, "I don't have all evening," even though she had asked very politely. The place was very busy, but a waiter has no right to behave like that. Our drinks arrived incorrectly three times, and when we asked for the correct drink, the waiter became very annoyed. We didn't get enough cutlery, and there was a hair in my friend's food. When he naturally complained about this, the waiter said, "Well, I hope you still enjoy your meal," instead of offering him a new portion. We are very disappointed and will not be visiting this place again. Another very friendly waiter was able to salvage our evening by offering us a free meal and drinks at the very end. We declined this offer because we didn't see the restaurant as being at fault, but rather that of one particular waiter. After we left the restaurant and ordered something to drink in the café next door, the friendly waiter brought us a bottle of sparkling wine and apologized for his colleague's behavior.

Manin is a fantastic restaurant. My wife and I (we even got married there) love coming here for dinner or just for a drink. The service is truly excellent, as is the food and ambiance. You can really tell that they put a lot of thought into how to satisfy their guests, and if something isn't right, they can simply communicate it, and a solution is found. That's why I give this restaurant 5 stars in all categories.

Anyone who doesn't know this place has missed the world ;-) Beautifully located in the lower part of the historic old town. The outdoor dining area, surrounded by plants, is cozy. The interior is also very cozy and worth a visit. Coffee and cake are available, as well as a small menu with delicious dishes. The delicious breakfast buffet is also highly recommended. The staff is friendly and eager to accommodate guests' wishes. Highly recommended!

The food was delicious and we had a great time. Unfortunately, the waiter made an inappropriate, insulting remark about my appearance and body. This is absolutely not okay and irritated me greatly. Even though he apologized afterward with a cookie and a request for leniency, I find such customer behavior disrespectful.

I had breakfast with five people. The price for the breakfast buffet is reasonable. Although I find the size of the rolls borderline, as they are very, very small. I didn't think our seat inside was ideal, as we were right by the window and thus completely exposed to the sun. Even when we asked for it, there was no way to get shade from outside. Which, of course, was extremely hot with 30 degrees Celsius outside and the sun shining through the window. The service takes a long time, whether it's ordering drinks or paying.

I was there for the first time yesterday...my goddaughter celebrated her wedding there...it was wonderful. Everything was great, except for a little too much salt in the food, but otherwise the quality was very good.

A "ladle" of salad mix (I was hoping that there might be a pleasant surprise hidden under the "pile")... a few spoonfuls of baby potatoes... and a small fried egg... like in the school cafeteria... and all for 16.50 euros... If my eyes had been eating, I would have started grunting 🐖 No... I'm not eating here anymore.

We were here during the week for the breakfast buffet. The buffet was set up in a small, narrow alcove. It's actually quite nice. But as soon as there were more than two people in line, it was almost impossible to move forward or backward because it was simply too narrow. You had to wait until the person in front of you was finished. Finally, when it was our turn, there was hardly anything left except rolls or croissants. So we went back to the table and waited until it was refilled. The breakfast was generally delicious. But a buffet needs a bit more space. The service also left something to be desired. Our ordered mineral water wasn't there after 30 minutes, and we had to remind them twice. Conclusion: I'd happily go there, but never again for breakfast.

Unfortunately, it's not what it used to be. We placed an order twice and it wasn't delivered. After 20 minutes, we were alerted, and we had to wait another 20 minutes for a cappuccino and payment. The food is only of average quality. Service is far below average, and the staff is constantly changing. Only the ambiance and location are very good.

Not for the discerning palate! Hello, I was recently at Manin St. Wendel with a friend. If you're looking for quality, you're unfortunately in the wrong place. The food is of the lowest standard! Faster than any chip shop; connoisseurs know what that means. Let me give you an example. I had the "Farmer's Salad," a mixed salad with fried potatoes and a fried egg, and my companion had the "Creamed Mushroom Schnitzel with Fries." The salad was good, but then it became borderline. The fried potatoes and (presumably) the schnitzel were Metro convenience foods, and the fried egg was dry. Based on how quickly the food was brought, it's safe to assume that everything was in storage and anything but freshly prepared. About the service. Friendliness 100 points Competence 2.5 points When asked whether a tea drink listed on the menu was sweetened or not, the waiter replied (verbatim): "I don't know, I don't drink tea." That says it all, unfortunately... As for the location itself: Yes, it's nice. I hope I haven't spoiled your enthusiasm. No, it's happened to me again. I order (just) an iced tea today, wait, wait, the waitresses are milling around, I wait. I ask twice if my drink was forgotten, if it was ordered. I wait, after 20 minutes I ask another waitress, she wants to clarify. I wait... After about another 10 minutes, I go inside and cancel the order. I was then told that someone had mixed it up and didn't give it to me or gave it to me incorrectly. For me (in this case), that was the end of my desire for iced tea. And since this is the second or third time this has happened to me, I probably won't be sitting down again anytime soon.

We had breakfast at Manin on May 17, 2025. First, we asked them to clean the red wine stains off the table. They wiped it twice, and that was it; they do that first thing in the morning. The reward for that came with sparkling wine glasses, which were from the day before. The selection at the buffet was OK. A waste of money. Service had a lot of room for improvement.

We keep going back to Manin because we like the food and the lovely seating on the Schlossplatz. We've also enjoyed the breakfast buffet several times. Unfortunately, lately, we've had a rather long wait for a waiter (outside area). However, we had the feeling this was due to a lack of staff. The service was very friendly and attentive—you can't do much more than work. We certainly would have had more to drink—but we simply didn't have the time.

Unfortunately there were only 2 vegan dishes and one wasn't even there. Kitchen was totally inflexible. The price for some pasta with tomatoes and olives was outrageous. We waited over an hour for the food and then it was cold. I was totally disappointed at breakfast last week because I couldn't order anything extra. Definitely won't come back. The one star is just for the nice service.

We ordered tortellini alla Mama and nowhere is it listed that the tortellini are filled with MEAT, which I think is absolutely impossible. The Magerita pizza that came as a replacement looked good, but tasted 1:1 like a gas station pizza. It was once really good... after eating there I will definitely not visit the restaurant again.

Hello dear friends of eating with full enjoyment. 😊 Unfortunately, since I can't cook for myself at the moment, I still have time to visit many of the restaurants in Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate. I have known Manin for many years and have enjoyed many happy moments here. Now I was at lunchtime and was able to choose from a variety of dishes on the lunch menu. For me this time it was the lentil stew, or was it a lentil soup? No matter, because it was not only delicious and topped with a wiener sausage, but also particularly well seasoned. A slight spiciness spoiled my tongue and palate. At my request, the cook immediately cut the sausage into the soup, as this cannot be done without accidents with just one hand, and the “wrong” hand at that. 😀 The service was very friendly, helpful and service-oriented. This is how it should be for all people who work in the service industry. Thank you for the wonderful time in your very cozy and modern restaurant. 🌷 PS: Unfortunately I was apparently too hungry, so I don't have a photo this time - but one thing is certain: she looked very good. 😋

We spontaneously went there for dinner today. The pizza was great and worth the price, the shop was nicely decorated. When the weather is nice, you can certainly sit outside. It was a shame that a male employee (at least he was wearing a shirt with the name of the store) kept spitting at the table outside. Unfortunately, since I was sitting in the line of sight, it was a bit awkward.

Review for the Manin restaurant in St. Wendel – breakfast experience We went to Manin in St. Wendel for breakfast and overall it was a good experience. The selection was rich and varied: There were boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, various rolls and bread, a good selection of cheese and sausage as well as jam, yoghurt and muesli. Everything was fresh and tasted perfect. What I personally was missing was a little more fruit or perhaps a sweet component like waffles or pancakes - that would have rounded off the breakfast a bit. But overall it was a solid breakfast that served its purpose. If you're looking for a hearty selection, this is definitely the place for you. Conclusion: Good, filling breakfast with solid quality - for me a little more sweet or fresh would have been the icing on the cake.

Yesterday we ate at Manin again for a long time. The prices seemed pretty expensive to us, but we didn't think anything bad about it, so we ordered pasta and pizza. And then the big shock when the food was brought to the table. The portions were really very small and in my opinion absolutely not justified for the price. But the service, the ambience and the taste of the food were pretty good. Nevertheless, we wouldn't come back at such prices.

The first part is from 2015! Delicious taste I enjoy going there with friends and family. Whether for a coffee or for a meal. Now comes 2025 I really like the Manin and in the summer we visit the outdoor area almost every day... But people, people... Our company party, a brunch, wasn't really tasty or creatively prepared... The food has left more and more to be desired over the last 3 years and the service... well... laugh or just be friendly 😜 Not even water for the dog etc is offered. Zero initiative or commitment. It would be great if you change this situation and Manin becomes what it once was. A great restaurant with good food that shines with creativity, passion and diversity. The best thing to do is to get Faruk on the team. With this guy in the store, humor and joy will come back into the store. He's currently working at Gillen and previously ditched Luise for years.

Update December 27, 2024: It's fair to say that Manin has changed for the better. The food has become tastier overall and there is now a larger selection, including vegetarian and vegan dishes. The changing lunch menu is a welcome change and offers something for every taste. The price-performance ratio is very fair. Please keep it up! Review from 2022: I am very surprised at the many positive votes. I live in St. Wendel and sit on the Schlossplatz at least twice a week. I can still remember the early days of this restaurant, raving about the pizza or the spaghetti Bolognese. The food was so good that I even overlooked the deficiencies in the service. But those days are long gone. At Manin St. Wendel I could observe how the quality has steadily decreased. The pizzas are no longer what they once were and for me personally they are now at the level - as harsh as it may sound - of frozen pizzas. The only advantage of this place is the location.

Unfortunately I can't give a review, I've been thinking about it for a long time. But after there was no response to an email, I wrote here. We had booked and paid for the Valentine's Day event. And we went home without food, we were simply forgotten. After several inquiries, we received the leftovers from the kitchen around 10 p.m. The boss was on site, but he apparently doesn't care about the individual customer. I wasted 80 euros and didn't even get an apology. It's a shame, we always enjoyed being guests at Manin and the events.

In advance! I always try to be very careful when applying for restaurants and other locations. I usually let the impression sink in for a few days, especially when I have negative impressions. I went to Manin in St. Wendel with my daughter based on a recommendation. We wanted to go out for something to eat. The ambience outside and inside was very appealing. It didn't take long until we were brought to the table. Then the waiting began. No map and no service. Service staff scurried past and we waited patiently. Finally a member of staff came from the service and before we had the menu he asked if we knew what we wanted to drink. Everything seemed a little stressed, although the restaurant was busy but not overcrowded and there were several service people in the restaurant. Again. It was my subjective impression. A short time later we ordered and were very surprised when the food was brought to the table a few minutes later. We ordered pizza 🍕 (see picture) and schnitzel and fries. My pizza was a little dark but not burnt. In terms of taste, I've had some that were much better. As we all know, food is a matter of taste. But what you can judge is quality. I was wondering why my daughter only tried her schnitzel and then only ate her fries. When asked, she said that the schnitzel didn't taste good. I tried it and she was right. In my opinion the schnitzel was frozen ready-made. 3mm meat with breading. Quality was zero and so the 2 schnitzels were almost completely returned. When I pointed this out, the waiter said we could have said something earlier. I would have if I had been noticed. But no matter... there are much better alternatives for food. There isn't much choice when it comes to service personnel these days. A good employee would have expressed regret and given feedback to the kitchen.

Can only recommend the breakfast 😋

The pizza was OK, but quite small for the price. The atmosphere is nice, but the tables are very narrow and there is little space. The restaurant is loud, the selection of drinks is good and so is the service.

We had breakfast at Manin for my mother's birthday. The “buffet” was very manageable (about 5 containers, 2 cereal bowls and the usual additions). We were put on the upper floor, where we now had the problem that all the containers were constantly empty, which meant we had to constantly run up and down. In addition, the breakfast buffet was far too small for three large rooms that were full of people who were hungry, so you have more choice at the breakfast table at home. Maybe the restaurant should concentrate better on the a la carte dishes and skip the breakfast for 10€. Of course, the staff tried very hard to look after the guests, but unfortunately they could hardly keep up with the drinks or refilling the food. A clear no from me, we will no longer come for breakfast, unfortunately it is no longer the old Manin as we used to know it, the quality and cleanliness have deteriorated significantly.

We were at manin St. Wendel at a time when the restaurant was very busy. There was also a lot going on outside. Nevertheless, all the service staff kept a cool head, were friendly and we got our food in less than 15 minutes. Everything went well and I give the manin credit for that. Hence 5 stars.

Visited there during the Christmas market, including the in-house mulled wine stand where two young men were working. Underground unfriendly because you didn't know how to order a Lumumba left-green-correct. Completely deluded and even insulting.

We had breakfast here today. For €9.90 there is a good selection of products, all of which appear very fresh. The only criticism is that it is very cold.

Unfortunately, the mulled wine hike was a non-starter. At the start you had to wait at least 30 minutes, in the rain, until you could start. The first mulled wine stand was at the windiest point you could choose on the way. At the end of the hike you could no longer redeem your vouchers. Unfortunately not recommended.

We like coming here. The buffet is well stocked and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. I especially find the rooms on the 1st floor beautiful and cozy.

We celebrated our company Christmas party here. From the organization to the end of the event, everything was great. A celebration in the room on the 1st floor is only recommended. We were completely alone and received great service. The atmosphere was great. There's nothing wrong with it.

We ate at Manin today. The service was great, drinks and food came quickly. The pizza was excellent, the pasta was delicious. The schnitzel was also very good, although the garlic in the mushroom cream sauce was unusual. The tarte flambée tasted good, but the edge was a bit too dark. But that's complaining at a high level! But what really annoyed me, and I'm deducting a point for that, is the fact that at the beginning of November I reserved a table for 6 people by phone for this evening. We arrived 15 minutes early and asked if our table was already available. The waitress said that they wouldn't make a reservation at all and that there wasn't a table reserved for us... That was really awesome. Luckily, a table for 6 people had just become available... But still: I felt a bit fooled by the young man who took my reservation on the phone and was still busy searching in the book to see if there was a table on December 13th. There was still a table available and the reservation (supposedly) was noted…

It's now an imposition! The pizza is a pinsa or has the shape of a pinsa, the bill says drinks that you didn't even have, and some of the staff are more than rude! Never again and it was an institution for years!

Nice restaurant, but very loud and the waiters make a fuss that doesn't fit the ambience. You feel fobbed off. Drinks and food are served quickly and the next guests are already waiting. A little more peace and not the waiters running through the free areas of the tables would be recommended.

Als wir das 1.Mal dort waren ,sagte der Kellner in 1 Std müssen wir den Tisch verlassen..das kam uns schon etwas komisch vor. Das Essen..Thunfischpizza und Flammkuchen mit Lachs war gut. Das letzte Mal,war es sehr laut und das selbe Essen weniger gut.Weniger belegt und extrem fettig und salzig. Ich mag nicht,wenn die Qualität variiert,denn der Preis bleibt gleich.Bedienung war diesmal freundlicher.

I found the breakfast buffet's selection to be okay (for the price), but I find it a bit strange that the drinks are charged separately... Our waitress was nice, but unfortunately she couldn't really explain to us how the whole thing works. Also when it came to seating, we were given a table where we felt squeezed, even though the restaurant was empty... We asked if we could get another table, but they said "no" because the tables were already reserved ... Then suddenly other guests came and had a free choice of tables without reservations. We didn't think that was okay. A very successful evening with good food! The newly created pizza is really delicious! Unfortunately I have to deduct 2 stars for the ambience, although I really like the space itself and is also very comfortable. In the evening and when the restaurant is full, the noise is extremely loud, which may not be pleasant for everyone.

The breakfast buffet is very manageable and is refilled too rarely, so you often find yourself standing in front of empty containers. It took over half an hour for us to get the coffee we ordered. The coffee was also much too thin, i.e. not good. Unfortunately, absolutely not recommended.

We were there for breakfast! Buffet was only refilled after request! Coffee didn't come until we were almost finished with breakfast! Plates, bowls etc. were also sparsely refilled!
