Mangal Grill Restaurant in Bad Nauheim

We haven't been there in a while, as we weren't that satisfied years ago. We tried it again and ordered a grill for two and a kebab to take home. The value for money was excellent. It tasted amazing. The delivery was on time and warm. We were absolutely thrilled and will definitely be back!

The condition of the sanitary facilities is extremely inadequate and unacceptable. Upon entering, one is immediately struck by a strong, unpleasant odor. There are cobwebs and spiders on the ceilings, the floor is heavily soiled, and the furnishings appear unkempt and neglected. Even the trash can is calcified and in an outdated condition. It is particularly noteworthy that hygienic hand drying is not guaranteed, as only toilet paper is provided instead of a suitable drying system. This lack of basic hygiene requirements is unacceptable for a catering establishment. It is urgently necessary to restore the sanitary facilities to a condition that meets generally accepted standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

It was "just" a kebab plate, but it was very tasty. Everything was very fresh and beautifully presented. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Definitely not my last visit!

Absolute disaster! I just arrived (9:40 p.m.) and asked if there was anything left to eat. All I got was, "No! No one here today!" And the man just turned his back on me. Sorry, but they're open until 11 p.m.... and they were so rude, too. No, no one needs that!!

Tastes good but the bread is quite soft otherwise the kebab tastes good

ZERO stars I can't recommend it. We waited an hour to be served. We called twice, but still no one came. The waitress just stood around at the counter. We left, of course, and we saw others get up and leave. So, zero stars!

Terrible! If you're taking the time to order delivery after spending over an hour on the phone asking if the food was still coming (it finally arrived after two hours), you've come to the right place. When you ask "why," you get an answer that makes you feel like you're being made a fool of. The grilled vegetable appetizer plate, consisting of 4 potatoes, 4 eggplant slices, and 3 small peppers, dripping fat from the fryer, tasteless for €12.00, was definitely the highlight. Thanks for nothing. Very disappointing...first and last time ordering. Conclusion: loveless, tasteless, brazen!

Unfortunately, a very disappointing experience. Even ordering was a mess – unfriendly, irritable, and made you feel like you were intruding. When the food finally arrived, the bill didn't match what we ordered, and they tried to charge us more than we actually received. When I questioned them, they responded rudely instead of resolving the issue fairly. This was definitely the last time for me – it seems they're more concerned with making money than with honest service or customer satisfaction.

I don't even know where to begin. I ordered a completely normal kebab, but the waiter had a really hard time understanding me. We had to ask him three times to bring us cutlery and napkins. Let's get to the food. First of all, the kebab meat is tasteless. You really have to fight while eating it. The bread falls apart completely. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Stay away from this kebab shop!!!

Never order from there again! It was a lahmacun menu, but you could make it yourself and it didn't come with any sauce or drinks!

I was there before and was really looking forward to that evening. When I was there now, there were hardly any customers. Which isn't a bad thing, but then the tables should be clean and not shake while we were eating! It took at least 20 minutes for someone to give us cards (even though it wasn't busy). I was very disappointed with the food. The salad was barely edible and simply bitter! My companion and I have had nausea and stomachaches since that evening. So we won't go there again... I can't recommend it. It's a shame it's gotten so bad...

I ordered delivery. I ordered fried potatoes for €4.50, and the box originally contained 7 pieces. They weren't tasty either. I understand if there aren't that many left at the end of the day, but then it's better to leave it alone. As an apology, they offered to deliver a new portion tomorrow. I was told to leave my address, but then they hung up on me. Absolutely dead shop, you've lost me as a customer, even if the rest of your food isn't even bad.

My visit to this restaurant left a bitter taste in my mouth, and not just because of the food. I had planned a relaxed dinner with friends. However, our anticipation was already dampened when basic dishes and drinks from the menu were missing: soup, sparkling water, Coke Zero, and, to begin with, even lamb chops, which were then "spontaneously" delivered. It didn't help that some of our orders were incorrect and, in some cases, didn't arrive at all. The behavior of the waitresses only added to our frustration: They always seemed disinterested and listless. Unfortunately, the food could NOT make up for this service. Quite the opposite, in fact! The lamb chops that were eventually delivered were a real turn-off for my friend, with whom I shared them (since my food hadn't arrived). Likewise, my other friends were anything but enthusiastic about their food. As if that weren't enough, the payment process was an absolute disaster and a disgrace. We had to ask for a bill twice, which got EXPENSIVE each time we received it. "Somehow," excessively high unit prices kept creeping in. for drinks, or the price of an already overpriced glass of tap water was increased from one bill to the next. We weren't actively informed about the exact changes to the bill; of course, we had to figure them out ourselves. The icing on the cake was the behavior of the employees: This increasingly developed into a condescending and disrespectful attitude toward us. Conclusion: Unfortunately, there is no redeeming feature that justifies a repeat visit, let alone a recommendation. CLEARLY RECOMMENDATION!

If 0 stars could be given, that would still be too much! When we sat down, we noticed that we were the only people for miles around, and it was two hours before closing time on a Friday. That doesn't necessarily mean anything, but after the day, I understand why it was. When we were served by a listless and almost soporific waiter, we were repeatedly told that dishes we wanted weren't available (soups, lamb chops, sparkling water, Coke Zero, etc.). It seems to me more like dishes that required extra effort are deliberately left out so they can close early. When the drinks arrived, the first shock. - The water was clearly tap water poured into a glass. - The drinks arrived incorrectly. - The food was cold. - Some dishes were too salty. - One dish didn't arrive at all. Of course, you make mistakes if you don't restrict your orders at the cash register to avoid paying taxes. After all, you have to shout out everything to the chef. Nevertheless, we remained polite. When the table was cleared and we were asked, we didn't make any comments or derogatory remarks. When we asked for the bill, the waiter came with his iPhone and typed in some numbers (no bill, no explanation). Comments like, "By the way, we didn't charge for the dish that didn't arrive" are fine! Should we be grateful that we don't have to pay for food that didn't arrive? When the price was presented to us on the iPhone calculator, we deliberately asked for a bill, which was only brought AFTER 10 MINUTES of waiting (probably everything had to be typed into the cash register after they had tried to save on taxes). The price on the bill was even €2 higher than what we were supposed to pay. There were so many errors in this bill that it should be considered a deliberate rip-off. €8 for two glasses of tap water! This disrespectful and listless waiter then even tried to argue with us. On the second attempt to correct the bill, it came back incorrectly and at an even higher price. This time, they overcharged us for three drinks we never had, and they said, "The boss did the bill, it'll be right." Not only did this waiter not know his own prices, they even took another 10 minutes to prepare the new bill. It was almost as if they were deliberately trying to get more money. After further discussion, we paid the correct price and left. The worst restaurant, the worst service, and the worst food ever. I strongly advise against it.

The visit to the restaurant reviewed here was disappointing in almost every respect. It became apparent right from the start that numerous dishes and drinks listed on the menu were unavailable. Among other things, soup, Coke Zero, sparkling water, and a special lamb dish were initially unavailable. The latter was only served after discussion with the manager, which suggests poor organization and a lack of customer focus. The service was consistently lackluster, disinterested, and at times passive-aggressive. Orders were incomplete or incorrectly taken: regular Coke was brought instead of Coke Zero, a lamb dish was served with fries instead of rice, and an ordered lahmacun was completely forgotten. The quality of the food was predominantly poor. The lamb, in particular, was of substandard quality, lacked flavor, and was unacceptably prepared. The water served turned out to be ordinary tap water – for which, however, an unreasonably high price was charged. A serious deficiency was evident in the bill. The bill repeatedly contained incorrect amounts, in particular, excessive charges for drinks. Only after explicit inquiry was a detailed bill issued. It was noticed that the price for a water had subsequently been increased from €2 to €2.50 without explanation. In the ensuing discussion about the incorrect billing, the waitress behaved disrespectfully and increasingly aggressively. The impression was given that not charging for undelivered food was a courtesy – an attitude that must be considered unacceptable in the restaurant industry. Particularly unprofessional was the fact that, after being informed of an overpayment, a corrected, but this time even higher, bill was presented. The overall impression of this restaurant visit was desolate. The combination of poor food quality, repeated errors in ordering and billing, unfriendly staff, and a lack of willingness to resolve problems constructively does not warrant any recommendation. This visit was clearly a mistake and will not be repeated. A restaurant with such serious weaknesses should urgently rethink its internal processes and, in particular, its treatment of guests.

The service seemed listless and unengaged for much of the visit. Some dishes were not convincing in terms of taste; in particular, the quality of the lamb shanks was perceived as inadequate. Furthermore, only tap water was served. The bill repeatedly contained incorrect items, which only became apparent when we explicitly requested a detailed bill. Among other things, several drinks were overcharged. It was also noticeable that after a drink price was corrected, it was increased from the original €2.00 to €2.50. During the discussion about the incorrect bill, the waiter's behavior was inappropriate and disrespectful. Initially, she was passive-aggressive and became increasingly unfriendly as the conversation progressed. The bill was presented in a manner that suggested the waiter was being thanked for not being charged for the lahmacun that hadn't been served. After pointing out that the bill was too high, the waiter withdrew to discuss the matter. Contrary to expectations, however, the bill was subsequently presented with an even higher one.

I was absolutely thrilled with the Mangal Grill Restaurant! The food was incredibly delicious: juicy grilled meat, perfectly seasoned, and prepared with love. The lamb was a particular highlight. The side dishes were also fresh and flavorful. The service was friendly, attentive, and quick. Everything is just perfect here, from the quality of the food to the atmosphere. I'll definitely be back and can only recommend it! 😋😋😋

It actually tastes good but this time my Lachmajun tasted like an old rag, not exaggerated.

I was there a few days ago and the food was inedible and on top of that I saw a rat running around outside by the seats, which spoiled my appetite even more

(Delivery) I have rarely experienced such poor service. The order came way too late (after 70 minutes) and was completely wrong. In the end we only received our order (doner kebab) after 2 hours (max. 5 minute drive). I will definitely never order here again and can't recommend it to anyone.

Service catastrophic Food is okay

I was there today, the food was really inedible. The rice was probably from the day before, totally solid and I couldn't eat it. Meat was ok. Salad was a disaster in terms of taste. I have to say, I have never had such bad Turkish food. When I complained about the rice, lukewarm, inedible fries arrived! The boss was busy with his cell phone the whole time, the store didn't even have 5 customers, and he was super unfriendly! I will never come back and advise anyone not to spend their money here. I left all the food and ended up paying for everything, even though he saw that the quality was poor.

I had it delivered to the Median Clinic. 1 hour was said, after 30 minutes the driver was there and even said he was slow....😊 Food was very tasty and plenty, warm and really inexpensive. I can only recommend Mangal 👍

Looks inconspicuous from the outside, but is 100% convincing. Friendly staff, immediately after ordering we were given a snack plate to tide us over, then really delicious food and at the end we got another black tea. That's how service works, 5 stars 😊

I ended up there by chance. Was warmly received. I ordered saddle of lamb with fried potatoes and grilled vegetables + tzatziki. Served on a hot plate. Meat grilled to medium rare. Taste: It couldn't be better. It's a shame that I'll be fully catered for for the rest of my stay.

I've already ordered food 3 times and each time a grilled sea bream. Service was friendly but a bit slow even though there wasn't much going on. Large portions of food, super tasty, good value for money, very large and nice atmosphere, my request was politely implemented. Even after a year, we still come to Mangal Grill regularly. We're happy to take the hour drive. We are so warmly welcomed every time. The food - no matter which dish - is fresh, hot and simply very tasty. The beef fillet was buttery soft and fried PERFECTLY medium. Rarely have I had such a good piece of meat. 5 stars plus... From the starters to the tea and the baklava... we love it! The four of us will continue to come back. Because no matter whether big or small, we feel very comfortable. and if we haven't been there for a while, the wish is expressed to go back to the most delicious Mangal Grill. :-) I'm currently here for rehab. I've already been to the restaurant 3 times during this time. It's just ultra tasty, super fresh and super cozy. The flatbread is incredibly tasty. It is served lukewarm with dips. Each dip is great in its own right. Especially Ezme. For main courses we had Turkish dishes with lamb as well as the classic kebab and kebab plate. Each dish on its own, so so good. The service was just super attentive. Even with “stupid questions” about what dish is which, time is taken and everything is explained. Finally there is Turkish tea with baklava. And here too: not too “sweet” but very delicately seasoned. simply good. We feel very welcome and will definitely come again before I leave Bad Nauheim again. Especially because of the super nice service. Thanks for that!

Poor service, orders were sometimes not carried out correctly. The rice is like rubber and actually inedible. I had casserole where the meat and vegetables appear to be braised in a soup of oil. I don't know if this is actually typical Turkish cuisine, but it was definitely way too much fat for me. The lamb I had also had a lot of fat/bacon. I left hungry, that was nothing!

Very sober furnishings. There is little or no heating in the guest room, so you freeze or have to put your winter jacket back on. So there is no feeling of eating and no coziness. Food and service are mediocre. There are much better alternatives, including in Bad Nauheim.

The food is quite ok, although the prices have now been increased, which isn't a bad thing, but the portion was only half as much as I'm used to. They went up €4 for the grill plate for 1 person. And a mini margarita for €7 is really excessive. Update May 25, 2023 I was just there again and ordered a vegetarian kebab box and a kebab. It's really unbearable, €8 for a vegetarian kebab box and €7.50 for a normal kebab. I can still handle the €7.50 for the kebab, but €8 for a vegetarian kebab box with some salad and a handful of fries is really worth crying. Update January 22, 2025 That was the last time. A disappointment across the board.

The “fried vegetables” come out of the deep fryer, full of fat and inedible. Ease of service? It's going ok…! I won't go there anymore.

I find it cheeky that the owner refused to deliver a kebab. My location was near the restaurant. The owner charged me the menu price without asking me. Totally cheeky. Only the waiter in the shop gets full stars from me.

We were visiting someone at the Kurhaus and went for a walk in Bad Nauheim and came across the restaurant. We were all very excited. There was plenty on the plate... very nicely presented and very tasty. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who happens to be in town. 😊👍

I had to wait a long time to be served at the table even though the restaurant wasn't full. I find cola in cans unusual when it comes to the name restaurant. The food was cold by the time it was at the table.

Unfortunately my visit to Mangal Grill was a big disappointment. The bread is no longer fresh, the kebab contains small hard disgusting pieces of gristle, the service was very disinterested, the staff seemed to have no desire to take care of the guests, I used to really like it there and certainly never again.

I went yesterday and it was really bad. My wife and I had to eat because we were hungry, but I ended up feeling sick. There were very few customers, but the food was served after a very long time. The waiter was sympathetic, but I don't know who prepared the order, but we also ordered fries and I don't know if they actually gave us the rest or if they just took it out of the garbage. I had come from a long way and I was very hungry and tired, otherwise I would have gone and talked, it was that bad.

Lots of smokers and because it's located on the main street and right next to a traffic light, it's a bit noisy outside. Unfortunately, the shop has a bit more of a snack bar feel. Ordered drinks and then received cans (not glasses). One of my friends got a meal with croquettes/potatoes, and the waiter dropped one of the 5-6 pieces in front of our table. There was no replacement or apology. When doing the accounting there was a discussion about the change and only when you did the exact calculation at primary school level did you believe that you hadn't received enough change. Never again!

I am a professional driver myself. I travel a lot around Europe and eat outside a lot. I have never experienced anything like last night. I was there with the family. Very little bread was brought and my wives and children also wanted more sauce or hot sauce. He charged three euros for a small bowl of hot sauce. We had a lahmacun and a yogurtlu Beyti. Both were very, very good 👍 we went there after the thermal baths. Really recommended. Price performance is right. Attention, the restaurant is on the corner and the parking spaces are on a one-way street - so be careful 🫣

Solid kebab, but too expensive for €7.50 and actually nothing special. In my opinion the flatbread was far too thin and hard. The meat wasn't a highlight or anything special. Too salty in taste. Salad filling went like this. Pepperoni was only added after request. A little too little sauce. You could eat it. I don't think I will eat there again. But the seller was very nice. The opening times are very customer-friendly.

Solid Turkish restaurant. Price-performance ratio is absolutely fine. The food is fresh and delicious. The service was attentive and also very friendly. Only the location directly on the main street is a bit suboptimal. Otherwise a recommendation.

Hello, I liked this restaurant but when I ate there yesterday the quality of the food was not good and all the dishes were broken. I think I won't come here again.

We stayed in the guest house of the Kerckhoff Clinic, directly opposite is this Turkish restaurant. Very spacious rooms and accessible with a walker. Friendly and helpful staff, muffled music. We ordered 2 non-alcoholic beers and falafel dürüm. Tasty, fresh and sufficient in quantity. The price is also completely ok. The next day we bought a salad to take away for lunch, which was also delicious.

That was the first and last time I took food from there. I ordered pide with doner meat and the meat is the leftover meat that you just throw away at the end of a skewer. How do I know that? I had a kebab house for two years. I threw the food away right after the first bite and my wife is currently vomiting the whole time. never never never again wouldn't recommend these people either. It has a nice environment where you can have your meal in a spacious and comfortable manner (usually the tables are close to each other in restaurants😠this is not a place like that☺️) and it also has a nice terrace..

The first time I had a pizza with sucuk, soft cheese and onions to take away - what can I say: Very nice staff and a tea for the waiting time. Perfect, freshly prepared dough, top toppings and great taste!!! I ate for 2 days... A week later I ate a kebab special on site - that too wasn't for the small appetite and was super tasty!!! I definitely wasn't there for the last time!
