The restaurant is worth a visit. A small Japan with a homely atmosphere right around the corner. 😍 I have to say, there is very good sushi here. Can easily keep up with our long-standing sushi supplier from Hamburg and here in little Eschenbach 👍 We'll be back 🍶🍱 Nice seating, nice staff and the food is always freshly prepared, which also excuses the slightly longer waiting times.

Absolutely disappointing. We went as a group of 4 to grab a dinner. Communication with the waiter was difficult from a get go in both English and German, he didn't see to know the menu at all and asked to point it every item we tried ordering. Didn't seem to know what a mohito is either. Roughly 40 minutes after placing an order out appetizers arrived with one missing, after checking with a different waitress about it she said they've been out of it that day (would be nice to be informed while ordering, we would just order something else instead). 10 minutes later we received our drinks with 2 missing (took another 10 minutes to get them). Took roughly 1,5 hrs to get main courses with, AGAIN, one missing, after checking on it, they never had it on an order. They arrived at the table 15 minutes later and said I'll be out in 2 minutes. Took another 20. At least 4 drinks we ordered as refills never arrived. All of this and not a single apology, yet there was a table that came after us, and after waiting 30 minutes for their food waiter apologized to them for a wait. Food wasn't bad but it also wasn't worth waiting 2 hours to get it. Won't be going back.

The food was DELICIOUS we ordered so much, and every bite was Great! My brother brought me to celebrate my birthday 6/2024.

Tried it for the first time after hearing people RAVE about it. The tempura shrimps were breaded with old burnt oil. Literally could taste the burn from the oil. The breading was soggy and had 0 flavor. We also ordered beef and pork bulgogi. My husband said he’s had dog in Korea and it tasted better. Lacked flavor and only had broccoli. No onions or leeks anywhere in sight. The spicy tuna roll was the only food we could finish. Tasted like they put salsa in it instead siracha. Basically rice and salsa was all you could taste. I know Asian food is Germany is hit and miss but this was by far the worst we’ve had. The ladies were extremely nice and welcoming but the food was not edible despite the €55 bill.

Love coming here, great food, staff and service, on busy nights the service is a bit slower but overall a great experience when I come here, some of the best sushi I've had

20 minutes and more for any type of service, so just be patient.

The food was amazing at this location. I got the chilli chicken and rice and OMG it’s to die for literally cooked perfectly. The sushi roll was amazing and very fresh as well. The service was slow but all in all it was worth it.

So wir hatte einen sehr schönen Abend hier . Das Essen war lecker und ich fand die Einrichtung innen echt gelungen ( war des mal a Post oder so ???) meine Vorspeise waren frittierte Shrimps Sau Sau geil richtig schön heiß geil Als Hauptgericht hatte ich das Garilc Cuicken auch echt Bombe bei 5 Sternen muss aber alles passen und leider muss ich sagen waren mir dafür die Bedienungen zu verpeilt und der Gesamteindruck einen Tick zu schmuddelig (zerrissene Speisekarte Tablet mit Riss Und allgemeine Sacherkeit ) aber Man muss sich ja auch steigern können alles in allem hatten wir einen gemütlichen Abend Thank you Russweiher and MakiMaki

Das Essen war echt gut, aber service war sehr schlimm, und wir haben auf die Sushi 40 Minuten gewartet… etwas zu lange! Sushi waren nicht lecker aber Udon war richtig gut

Wir haben beim Reinkommen sofort eine Karte bekommen und nach 2 Minuten unsere Getränke und nach weiteren 40Minuten die ersten Suhis erhalten (6 pureLachsscheiben ohne Reis). Dann haben wir nochmal 5 Sushis bestellt, auf die wir dann gut 1Sunde und 10Minuten warten mussten. Da wurde der Hunger zu groß und wir wollten dann nichtsmehr bestellen, weil 70min. einfach viel zu lang sind. So voll war der Laden garnicht, dass es die Wartezeit rechtfertigen könnte. Wir sind dann enttäuscht gegangen, ohne annähernd satt zu sein. Das Personal schien nett, aber vollkommen überfordert und unfähig zu sein. Wir werden das "Maki Maki" nicht nochmal besuchen und auch nicht weiterempfehlen. Für eine winzigkleine Menge Sushi und zwei Getränke haben wir über 40€ bezahlt. Da ist jedes "Running Suhi" günstiger, ergiebiger und geschmacklich besser.

Leckeres Essen und freundliches Personal.

Sehr empfehlenswert, wenn man Sushi essen möchte. Etwas irritierend war für uns, dass man Sushi einzeln bestellt, relativ hochpreisig. Aber dafür sind sie wirklich groß. Das passt. Die Vorspeisen waren fein gewürzt, wir hatten Wakame, Gyoza 🥟 mit richtig frischem Geschmack, toll und leicht pikant gewürzte Algen Das Ambiente ist super lustig. Man kann sich gar nicht satt sehen an den vielen kleinen Details Sanitäre Anlagen sehr sauber. Bedienung sehr freundlich. Natürlich dauert Sushi zubereiten, wenn man es frisch möchte, länger, als andere Dinge. Das stört mich persönlich überhaupt nicht. Wir haben unseren Abend wirklich genossen.

Wir waren am Samstagabend mit einer größeren Gruppe dort.. Natürlich eine Zeit, zu der sehr viel los ist. Vorab: die zwei Sterne habe ich lediglich wegen des Essens vergeben. Das Essen allein würde 5/5 Sterne bekommen, aber alles drum rum ist eine Katastrophe, die nicht mal einen Stern verdient hätte.. Schade! Wir hatten an dem Abend reserviert. Am Tisch bekamen wir direkt die Karten. Bis dann jedoch wieder eine Bedingung kam, dauerte es 50 Minuten. Jegliche Versuche, Bedienungen auf uns aufmerksam zu machen, scheiterten. Teilweise wurden wir sogar merklich ignoriert. Nachdem wir nach fast einer Stunde endlich bestellen konnten, dauerte es wieder eine Weile bis wir Getränke und im Anschluss Essen bekamen. Das Essen wurde wild durcheinander gebracht. Mal bekam jemand was, andere bekamen nichts.. Nach einiger Zeit kam wieder was, usw. Am Ende waren wir 2,5h dort und es fehlten immer noch 3 bestellte Gerichte. Da wir nicht planten so lange essen zu gehen, wollten wir auf die letzten Gerichte verzichten und stattdessen bezahlen & gehen. Auch auf das Zahlen mussten wir so lange warten, dass wir überlegten das Geld einfach passend liegen zu lassen und zu gehen.. Fazit: Wir waren 3h in dem Laden. 3 Gerichte kamen nie, wir wurden am Anfang fast eine volle Stunde ignoriert und hatten nicht mal Getränke. Das Essen kam wild durcheinander - gemeinsames Essen war nicht ansatzweise möglich. Da das Essen wirklich gut ist.. schade!

Fantastic establishment! I have been coming here for 3 years and every time has been great! The food is delicious, the service is great and the prices are fantastic! They staff is very kind and have always very attentive no matter our table size. Shout out to Samuel for the excellent and friendly customer service!

I will give 2 stars for food and 1 - for taking a credit card (as many businesses around here are playing "cash only" games). Minus 1 - for charging for WATER. Not okay. Minus 1 - for cleanliness. My table was sticky (see photo proof) and multiple spider webs were hanging from the ceiling.

Immer lecker bei MakiMaki. Hebt sich völlig ab vom anderen Asia Angebot. Klasse Sushi, die Udonnudeln mit Meeresfrüchten sind absolut zu empfehlen (sehr viele Meeresfrüchte) genauso wie die Vorspeisen. Der Pflaumentee ist genial. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis völlig in Ordnung. Sehr zu empfehlen. Manchmal könnte das Personal etwas aufmerksamer sein.

Good food when fresh in restaurant. Too busy usually for the number of servers on staff at any given visit. But they are friendly and as fast as they can be.a fun place to sit and enjoy time with others in.

If you are planning to order to go make sure to do so AHEAD of time. We only ordered sushi - so nothing hard or time consuming to make. We were told an hour which was already a pretty long time but we were fine with it. We arrived LATE and yet, our order wasn't ready. It took exactly 1 hours and 50minutes since us placing our order to actually get it. Again, it was just sushi and not even a lot of it.

Lange Wartezeit auf das Essen. Während die einen schon aufgegessen hatten, haben die anderen ihr Essen gerade einmal bekommen - das dann leider kalt war. Service lässt zu wünschen übrig.

To be honest, I believe this place could be a 5 star restaurant but I’m rating it from my experience tonight I’m giving it my honest rating. The restrooms were moderately clean and I love the fact that it had a baby changing station since I’m a parent. The service was quite slow, and one of the servers unnecessarily rude and impolite as she was bringing our food out. I do recommend this place but with better service.

The food was okay but the service was not good at all. One waitress was just rude and everything took forever. Getting the check took forever!!! Don’t really recommend.

I have different experiences every time I come here, it can either be a fast service or you might be getting your food after a 45min wait. It’s really a hit or miss with that. I like the sushi here, but I’m not a fan of the main entrées. Also the mojitos were pretty weak, it tasted more like sugar than anything else.

A place so good I went there three evenings in a row! Try the Beef Bulgogi (I had spicy, but found it very mild), it is outstanding and comes to you boiling in a stone pot, always a good sign! Their nigiri is quite good although limited to salmon and tuna. I’m a tuna fan. The appetizers are fantastic, try any of them but I was partial to the fried shrimp and octopus.

Wir haben uns relativ oft etwas beim Maki Maki bestellt, aber gestern wurde ich maßlos enttäuscht. Wollte bei meinem Gericht ein paar Nudeln mehr und dafür wurden 6€ extra berechnet, so dass ich für ein U-Don Nudelgericht sage und schreibe 17€ bezahlen musste. Eine absolute bodenlose Frechheit, vor allem angesichts dessen, dass die Portion als Doppelt auf dem Kassenbon stande, aber es wirklich nur ein paar Nudeln extra waren, wenn überhaupt. Ich bin mit meinen 50 kg wirklich kein Vielfraß und wenn ich von einem 17€ „Doppelportionsgericht“ nicht satt werde, dann gibt mir das zu denken. Unter diesen Umständen nie wieder Maki Maki!!!

Settings: dinner for 5 on a Saturday night around 6 pm. We called to reserve a table the same day. We got our table and ordered right away. The food and drinks came very quickly. Good service, nice atmosphere. Garlic chicken was great, as well as sushi we ordered. Nice place, will come back.

Great Japanese food and they never disappoint.

This review is a tough one. On one end the food is good, on the other end the service from the waiters is really lacking, then on the flipside the decor of this restaurant is all over the place. It's getting a 3 star downgrade due to the waiter's, they really need to be trained better, be more attentive and all around do their job better. I can tell the owner and cook are doing their best with trying to run a successful business, but if you have staff that doesn't care about how to treat customers, those customers won't come back. The ambiance needs to be completely redone. It feels all over the place and doesn't have a flow through the restaurant. There is no clear host station or area you should be waiting to be greeted. The bar area is the main eyesore and requires attention immediately. All in all, order your food to go, if you can ever get them on the phone, don't waste your time sitting down unless they make some drastic changes.

We had reservations there was no table available. It took 15mins to fix the problem. Our party was for six people. Each meal came out at different times. We were there for 3.5 hours due to services. Not enough people working. We will not be coming back.

Telefonisch bestellt, was kaum möglich war, wegen Verständigungsproblemen. 50min für 5 kalte Speisen. Vor Ort nochmal über 1h gewartet. Unterirdisch. Leider haben wir die schlechten Bewertungen erst danach gelesen. Ganz klar werden wir dort nie wieder Geld ausgeben.

Wir waren zu dritt essen, hatten 2 Sushi und 1xnudeln und haben 1 1/2 std auf unser Essen gewartet obwohl kaum was los war. Das war sehr enttäuschend und wir werden dort auch nicht nochmal essen gehen 🤌🏼

The ambience of this restaurant is wonderful! In the atrium, there is an old piano you can play, for those pianists out there. Food was OK, and they do have a good selection. Definitely get the edamame!

Waited two hours for our food and did not get it. We paid for our drinks and left. They push take out food fast, if you dine in, good luck. It's sad because they do ha e great food.

I hate to give the restaurant this rating because the food was very good but I belive they need alot more help because we waited for about an hour and a half just to get our food and maybe another hour just trying to catch some one to get our bill. I believe they only had two people working and kept forgetting about what order was up and ready to get sent out, maybe if they can hire at least two more people the service rate and quality will increase to the standard that their food was.

Hatten heute zum ersten Mal etwas zum Abholen bestellt. Das Essen war innerhalb von 30 Minuten abholbereit 👍🏻 Wir hatten unter anderem Sushi, Beef Bulgogi und Kimchi bestellt. Alles war super lecker, die Sushi Rollen sind sehr groß und das Kimchi war perfekt! Am Telefon, wie auch beim Abholen war der Service ausgesprochen freundlich. Kann Maki Maki nur weiterempfehlen! Werden jetzt öfters dort essen 🙂

Lamentable por demás.. fuimos con gran emoción por una recomendación pero la verdad fue una gran decepción y aparte de eso un bochorno por que invitamos a unas amistades.. el garlic chicken tenia pedazos medio cocinados, el arroz estaba demasiado mojado, el beef bulgogi que pidió mi esposa estaba demasiado seco. Y la orden de mis amistades que era un sushi se tardó una hora. NO LO RECOMIENDO. / Unfortunately for others .. we went with great expectations because of a recommendation but the truth was a great disappointment and apart from that an embarrassment because we invited some friends .. the garlic chicken had half cooked pieces, the rice was bad, the beef bulgogi that my wife ordered was too dry. And my friends order, that was sushi, took an hour. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.

One of the best restaurants I've been to in Germany. Decent food, price is just right for the amount of food it was served. Especially the rolls are just big. And Delicious as well. Main plates are also great. Only downfall of this place is it opens dinner times only.

1 Stunde Wartezeit um das Essen abzuholen. Als wir dann da waren, mussten wir nochmals 20 Minuten warten. Freundlichkeit beim Service lässt auch zu wünschen übrig. Am Ende war dann auch noch ein falsches Gericht dabei. Geschmacklich war es gut und preislich auch.
