Friendly owner serves herself. Reservation of a table by telephone was easy. The small restaurant is simply and functionally furnished and makes a neat impression without being perfect. The menu is pleasantly clear. You won't be overwhelmed with dishes well into the 100s - which no one can cook fresh in that number anyway. According to the information on the menu, everything is freshly cooked and no glutamate is used - that's GREAT! Nevertheless, the waiting times are not excessively long. The food actually seems freshly cooked and the basics are sensibly prepared. Glutamate actually doesn't seem to be used (subjective taste impression), which makes the food easy to digest. The usual after-effects of glutamate Asians such as thirst attacks and heat waves after eating do not occur - that's very good! The food tastes good, looks fresh, is well prepared and doesn't drip with fat. The prices are quite reasonable. But I would like to have significantly more flavors, through fresh herbs, fine spices, more sophistication, ... even if it would cost a little more! ♿ There is an estimated 3 - 4 cm heel on the entrance door. This is doable with a wheelchair, but Here, raising the pavement or a wide chock would be very desirable to make access easier. The restaurant is not very spacious and can be difficult to get through when there is a lot going on. But the owner is very nice and helpful. I can't say anything about the suitability of the toilets. Conclusion: Not ideal for wheelchair users, but suitable.

I only go to Gera once or twice a year and today was the first time I met my girlfriend for dinner here. I was able to experience Vietnamese cuisine through travel and really enjoyed the food and friendly service at Mai's Kitchen. I or we will definitely come back. Bianca Hennig from BW

Great cuisine, great service and it's been that way for years

Finally a really great, authentic restaurant again. The dishes are extremely tasty and rich, beautifully presented and freshly prepared. We were warmly welcomed and advised if we had any questions. Price-performance is very good. We are repeat visitors and always look forward to the next visit!

We were there for a birthday party with about 20 people. It's very comfortable there. The conditions were very friendly and at times even had the qualities of a solo entertainer - we laughed often and heartily and the atmosphere was great. The food was also super tasty. We'll definitely be back!

Top Restaurant mit leckeren Speisen zu top Preisen. Haben uns spontan für dieses Restaurant entschieden hatten eigentlich woanders bestellt und haben es kein bisschen bereut. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

The owner and her daughters were also very nice, we ordered something from the lunch menu and they made it for us without any problems, even though we were there in the evening. Considering the price, the Vietnamese food, which is freshly prepared and contains many fine flavor nuances, is very good and tasty. If word gets around, you'll have to book a table in advance, because they'll only give away what the two of them can manage. I hope the quality remains as great and wish you continued success.

Wir haben den weiten Weg aus dem Ruhrgebiet auf uns genommen um die Oma meiner Liebsten zu besuchen. Dann sind wir von ihr zu einem herrlichen authentischen Essen eingeladen worden. Die Besitzerin ist sehr freundlich, das Essen war sehr lecker, wenn auch für meinen Geschmack etwas zu viel Koriander drin war, aber das geht schon. Die Karte ist etwas kleiner, aber das Essen war durchweg gut!

Mit Platzvorbestellung hat alles geklappt. Kleines Lokal mit kleiner Speisekarte,aber alles super zubereitet.

Das Essen hebt sich positiv von anderen Asiaten in Gera ab. Frisch und mit Liebe zubereitet, ohne Geschmacksverstärker, mit frischen Kräutern, abwechslungsreich - einfach lecker. Und die Chefin ist einfach ein Original. Wir kommen immer wieder gern.

Definitiv eines meiner Lieblingsrestaurants und das Essen ist superlecker und immer frisch zubereitet. Man wird immer herzlich bedient und fühlt sich sehr willkommen 🫶

Innen sehr gemütlich und schön exotisch. Das Essen kam schnell, war heiß und genau richtig gewürt - indisch. Dazu gab es Mango-Lassi und ein köstliches Mango-Dessert.
