In the heated tent outside it's more like this, the schnitzel was ok.

Unfortunately, cordon bleu is a ready-made product, the lentil stew is a thin soup, the curry sausage sauce was just a tomato sauce. It's a shame, it was an attempt that we won't repeat.

An absolute scandal! I've never experienced anything like this before. The staff was not only unfriendly, but downright disrespectful - you had the feeling that you were a nuisance. No hospitality or effort to fulfill guests' wishes. The wait was endless, and when the food finally arrived, it was disgraceful: cold, tasteless and obviously prepared without any care. If you don't care about the guests, then at least the kitchen should deliver - but here too, none. A restaurant that places so little emphasis on service and quality should really consider whether it is in the right place in the hospitality industry. Absolutely not recommended!

OK. A meal was not included when ordering. Came much later. That was unprofessional. Otherwise people smoke in the tent and the intermediate door is often open so it smells of smoke. Not recommended for non-smokers

This was my 2nd time at Maffenbeier. I had a steak as before. It was very delicious and cooked as I ordered. It is a great local German restaurant. But in the garden its allowed to smoke altough its covered due to cold weather and the rain. Smoking should not be allowed also in the garden🙂 Thank you

Unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. We didn't even get a chance to eat as the staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. There was a lack of any respect for the guests. We also noticed that the general quality has deteriorated significantly compared to before. Due to this negative experience, we cannot recommend the restaurant at the moment.

A beautiful, green beer garden. The food was ok, the service was very friendly and quick. Prices acceptable. Fried potatoes with 3 fried eggs and salad €10.90 and cheese spaetzle with salad €12.90. The menu needs to be revised a bit for today's times and perhaps include another vegetarian dish. There are parking spaces in the area.

Nice, rustic restaurant in the Hemshof. The food is always very good and tasty, but strangely I can't tolerate the food. The waitresses are often stressed at the weekend, where politeness is sometimes forgotten here and there, but all in all they are fine.

I was shown straight to a spot with two dogs without a reservation. I had an excellent meal, enjoyed a great beer and all at a great price. Very friendly staff completes this gastronomic experience. Recommended for every visitor to Ludwigshafen.

The atmosphere is rustic. You shouldn't let that put you off. The Maffenbeier is still one of the top addresses in Ludwigshafen for typical Palatinate dishes. Particularly noteworthy are the excellent price/performance ratio and the great, friendly staff!

We chose the pork loin, the salad with chicken strips and the breaded schnitzel and we all loved it. Definitely coming back

Not particularly suitable for vegetarians, but the meat dishes are said to be very good. However, the outdoor area is a bit narrow and not particularly comfortable, especially very crowded at peak meal times.

Maybe one of the last German ones Restaurants in Ludwigshafen. I would describe the food as good bourgeois. draw (this should not be described as derogatory). Large portions with excellent roasts potatoes. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fair. The drinks are for today's standards surprisingly cheap.

That was nothing today! On the occasion of Mother's Day, I invited my mother to dinner at Maffenbeyer today. We've been here several times and it's always been ok. until good. But today it was pure disappointment. We each had the schnitzel with asparagus and “asparagus potatoes” with hollandaise sauce. The schnitzel was ok, but the rest was terrible. The asparagus wasn't al dente, it was simply hard. It also tasted like nothing, as if no salt or sugar had been added to the cooking water (if it was cooked at all). And it didn't seem to be fresh either. I had imagined asparagus potatoes to be small, briefly fried potatoes, but these were only boiled and not peeled. I've also had much better hollandaise sauce, not so sour and spicier. It's a shame, that was a real disappointment for my mother, she doesn't want to eat here anymore. This meal today doesn't deserve a single star. However, I gave it two stars because the food was quite good on previous visits.

Typical down-to-earth Palatinate cuisine, also delicious schnitzel and highly recommended rump steaks. Not for “fancy”, but authentic and therefore special. The employees are always friendly towards us, which may be because we also know words like “please and thank you”. Our regular Wednesday pub. Please stay as you are!

Ich besuche diese Laden und sehr gerne Allerdings gestern war meine Enttäuschung riesig. Ich wollte ein Schnitzel mit Käse scinken gefüllt und eine kleine Fanta. Bei mir schlagen die Alarmglocken wenn ich bei ein traditionellen Restaurant ein viereckige Schnitzel bekomme. Warum? Das ist industriel angefertigt. Beilagen, ich wollte Dicke Pommes haben (country potetos, stakehaus Pommes) haben, so wie in der Webseite angezeigt und habe die Bedienung danach gefragt. Diese hat mir dies bestätigt. Bekommen habe ich ein industriel angefertigte Schnitzel mit ein paar trockene Dünen Pommes 🍟. Wo ist die Tradition geblieben?? Enttäuschung pur.

We tested the Maffenbeier restaurant today because of the good reviews. Unfortunately it was a total failure! The Jägerschnitzel was with ready-made sauce and glass mushrooms and burnt fried potatoes. The schnitzel had no taste other than fat and was unbearable. The sauce was strangely sour and I completely ignored the mushrooms after a quick taste. The side salad is also rather below average and with the cheapest ingredients of boring endive lettuce, a tomato and two or three sliced ​​cucumbers. The dressing was watery and almost tasteless. The large salad plate that we also ordered is the same salad as the side salad just with a few turkey strips. Since only the cheapest ingredients are used here and nothing is freshly cooked, the price of 40 euros for two people is not justified. We will avoid this restaurant in the future and will not visit again!

Quaint restaurant, with very nice and cosmopolitan staff, plus delicious beer from the Mayer family brewery in Oggersheim. The Palatinate slaughter platter was very, very tasty, especially the sauerkraut, which could actually have been served a lot more. One of my absolute favorite places. Very good and down-to-earth food. Often like grandma’s. Really tasty. The weekly menu is varied, everyone will find something. The soups are great 😊, my favorites. The price-performance ratio is very good. The service is always very fast, friendly, and tries to make almost everything possible. If you don't know it yet, you've missed something. If there is a restaurant in the area that definitely doesn't need positive reviews, it's the "Maffe'! The atmosphere is rustic, cozy, the staff is always courteous and friendly, the prices are affordable and the dishes on offer taste great across the board. The portions are very senior or child-friendly if required. Anyone who lives in the region and hasn't been there should be ashamed of themselves. For national guests, the restaurant is a must on the not too extensive list of tourist hotspots in Ludwigshafen. Reservations make sense, especially at peak times.

The service was nice and quick, the schnitzel was unseasoned, the sauce with canned mushrooms, and the fried potatoes were lukewarm. The minced steak was partly raw, but was taken away straight away and probably continued to cook in the microwave as hot as it was and not crispy in the brown areas, but was well seasoned. We won't be coming back because the price-performance ratio is not right at all!
