Nice place, make sure you book before you go

Compared to the last time today, our visit was almost disappointing. Shakshuka was ordered with hummus (which wasn't served at first, but ok, it happened) and Ekk Benedikt. You get a basket of bread with the shakshuka, but it was so dry that you could hardly chew it, but ok, it happened (we got a small cola from the house for that). The eggs inside were fully cooked but not poached like they should be, but ok, it happened. If you compare the photos of other Shakshuka's in the gallery, there was almost nothing green on top for me, but ok, it happened. At the Ekk Benedikt an egg was full of spices on top, as if the lid had suddenly come off while seasoning, and the piece of bread was also dry Staff is friendly, but can't serve so many tables quickly, ambience is also good, but the general opinion today was "but ok, it happened", so today it's simply 3 stars and nothing more

Very cute shop with a perfect selection of brunch dishes. The taste was also very good, although there was only a little milk foam in the cappuccino, which was completely gone after about 10 minutes. Unfortunately, the service wasn't entirely satisfactory either. Everything took a very long time. I ordered Avo Bomb with scrambled eggs, unfortunately it came without scrambled eggs. It's just a slice of bread with avocado and spices. I complained about this straight away. But then I had to ask twice over half an hour what was wrong with the scrambled eggs. Really a shame. I also think that just under €13 for a slice of bread with avocado on it is pretty expensive. The freshly squeezed mixed juice was very tasty. Unfortunately, there is only one toilet and one urinal, which would also require one or two repairs. The toilet cubicle also serves as a changing room. Everything is very tight. CONCLUSION: Nice ambience with an incredibly great basic idea, but the execution leaves something to be desired.

I've had breakfast here several times and am always impressed - I can especially recommend the Huevos Racheros and the Chai Latte. It's especially nice to sit outside and the service is very attentive. Weekends are usually busy, so be sure to make a reservation or allow yourself some time.

To be honest, it's a bit ordinary, so I didn't go out of my way to come here. I thought the food would be more diverse, and the overall taste was okay. The eggs Benedict was delicious and there was bread.

The service staff was attentive and the food came super quickly. The drinks were good, but we didn't like the food. We had the Kimchi and Ekks Benedict dish which was far from the original. And unfortunately there was an unpleasant smell of vinegar and eggs inside. We were quickly gone again.

You have to wait a long time to get a table. Some people got tables inside although we were in front of them in the line and we wanted to sit inside. They dint have a reservation. We also dint have one. Food ist okay.

We've wanted to go here for a long time. Were there at lunchtime and therefore just at the time when the lunch menu (no brunch; “only” 3 focaccias were available to choose from, of which there was only one left. If I offer food at lunchtime and the time for this has just started or was close to it .. Would it be an option to leave breakfast/brunch as an alternative? Focaccia was also more of a 4/10 as was the service. The ambience itself is quite nice - I think it's a better place for breakfast or evening than at lunchtime. Maybe it was because it was during the week including the holiday season, I don't know. In summary: expandable.

For the high prize, very low quantity of food. Just 1 slice of bread for almost 16 Euros is ridiculous.

Arrived after a 30 minute journey only to be told their kitchen is closed even though they were opened. Shows that they don't plan enough for a busy day.

The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I will definitely come back to enjoy more of their delicious breakfast offerings!

Average food and quite lousy service. Ordered two breakfast dishes, after a while they asked to replace one as they couldn't prepare it, so we went both for the same dish. After a while a server brought one dish, and we mentioned we want THE OTHER with the eggs well done. Nothing ever came. I can understand one mishap, I cannot understand how the waiter that brought the food didn't do anything with the information that we are expecting another dish. We got one drink on the house, thank you for that. I would've liked the waiter to know in the first place what dishes are available, and the second one to have done something with the info that we're expecting another dish. I guess they're simply ovwehelmed with too many tables for the available staff.

We came to this restaurant through Instagram. Unfortunately the experience was not what we expected! Totally tasteless food, very hard bread, apparently old, without any love. Pancakes saved brunch 🙌🏻 The service could have been better, they are friendly but as it is always very busy, everything is very difficult. We asked for the bill 3 times and were able to pay on the fourth attempt! Regarding the queue, we faced a queue of around 45 minutes.. which is normal as we didn't reserve a table, it would be easier if they had someone to control or just give information to those who just arrived.. everyone was lost! Leaving the review as it helps to improve, the place had everything to be cool and serve food like in the Instagram photos.

Great store that can get pretty crowded after 11 a.m. (contrary to the information on Google Maps). Had the Turkish Ekks and Soda Lemon for 18 euros.

Shakshuka: Eggs very hard because the dish underneath is too hot. It just doesn't work that way. Also not enough white bread. Because of both problems, you can't traditionally dunk and eat there. There was also a lack of salt, so people were too careful. The soul of a traditional, simple dish was taken away. Please don't reinvent the wheel. A few new twists are always good, but the dish has been changed too much and no one wants a dry fried egg anyway, in any dish. Service: Please mark if tables are reserved. Many tables were free and we watched as guests were constantly being turned away or sent in around midday. That's a bit rude and just awkward. But they are friendly :)

Absolutely amazing place for breakfast/brunch. Really nice staff, we had a seat within 5 minutes even though the queue was quite long. A friend of mine wanted espresso tonic which wasn’t originally on the menu, however they brought it anyways! I had chai latte which was absolutely amazing, perfect temperature, perfect taste. We ordered egg royale and it came within 10 min and it was soooo good, even though the place was packed!!! Eggs were perfectly boiled, there were like 3 big pieces of salmon, big toast, very very nice. Good staff, good food, good drinks. Highly recommended!

Very cozy and nice, but weren't that impressed with the food: French toast and pancakes extraordinaire. The French toast was a bit dry and the pancakes have ham, I think bacon would be better and spinach, but only 3 small raw spinach leaves (maybe a mistake?) The pancakes were therefore a bit dry, the portion of maple syrup was good, but butter was missing. But will come back because the other food looked better.

Having read good reviews and having seen the large queue I expected good thing. Unfortunately it was massively overrated, the food was overpriced and of average quality. I wouldn't bother queuing 45minutes like we did for a table

I liked this brand and was a frequent customer at another branch in the city. BUT DO NOT come on weekends if you don't want to wait thirty minutes for your drinks and an hour for your food. And expect to receive ROLLED EYES from the waiter if you don't tip generously, even if they messed up your food order and made you wait longer. Such a disappointment.

We have heard a lot of good comments about this place and their French Toast before visiting, but unfortunately it was not good. The bread was super dry and hard to eat. We wouldn’t recommend to order that. Maybe the other dishes are better. The coffee is ok. The service staff is very kind. Even when we didn’t have a reservation, they looked for a table.

This was definitely the best brunch I've had anywhere in the world. The atmosphere is great, every employee is very friendly, and the orange juice is hand-made and very delicious. All meals are of a very high standard! I really want to use all the wonderful adjectives to describe this place.

What I liked - vegan choices - good portions What I did not like - it stated two different Hummus but I only got one => Was good and it was tasty but it was not the best breaky I ever had :)

Great place for brunch in Munich

Super cute café in the Glockenbachviertel. Nice seating area outside and inside. The prices are not necessarily cheap but it is definitely worth it. Very fresh and super tasty 🌟🌟🌟

Simply super delicious! We were there spontaneously (from Berlin) and the tapas are incredibly tasty. Especially the meatballs! We can only recommend it and will definitely come back! ❤️🫶🏼

The food is really tasty, especially because there is not only the usual offering (Eggs Benedict, Eggs Florentine, etc.), but also special things like Huevos Rancheros or Kimchi Egg Drop Sandwich. Unfortunately the service has room for improvement. We had a reservation and had a maximum of 2 hours, but we couldn't go straight to our table and then waited 20 minutes until the order was taken. In general, the employees weren't very attentive, rarely came by, when they brought something, they didn't take empty dishes with them and it got very crowded because there just wasn't much space. It's very loud inside and a bit cramped. 45 minutes before our time was up, we wanted another portion of pancakes, but we were told that the kitchen couldn't make it in time and would take at least half an hour... then we ordered a bottled beer, which never arrived. The service was kind of disappointing. The shop is cute, but maybe you should just take out a table inside and not always limit the table occupancy to 2 hours. That would be much more relaxed for the guests and the service.

Very good food and coffee! Filled with locals and visitors - definitely recommend! The chocolate (Nutella) pancakes were unreal!

I have nothing to say about the service and friendliness, but unfortunately the breakfast is not as good as written here, especially for Turks. We liked the pancake, it was fluffy and delicious, I recommend it. Don't go with your expectations at the ceiling. There is no air conditioning for hot days and umbrellas are inadequate, most tables are in the sun.

Nice ambience but the food quality was really bad. I ordered pancakes which were uncooked and like old bread, making them impossible to eat. Unfortunately, I still had to pay for them. Disappointed with the overall experience.

Super friendly restaurant with incredibly delicious food! We were there for brunch and were really impressed by the quality and taste of the bread, croissants, eggs, coffee, orange juice, etc. The selection/composition of the dishes is also special and particularly tasty with a lot of options. The service was very nice and at eye level. Overall it was a very friendly and authentic atmosphere. Thanks for that! We will definitely come back!

Went here on a Sunday for Brunch. Definitely recommend booking ahead! Food & drinks arrived quickly and were really good (although on the pricey side). Staff was attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back to try other items on their large menu.

Very cute little café that I can recommend both for brunch and in the evening for delicious tapas & drinks. Or in the afternoon for delicious cakes (also vegan selection) and a coffee made with a lot of love. In summer, the great terrace also offers a lot more space and you can just sit nicely. The staff is also really friendly and attentive. The shop is always very busy, so it's worth making a reservation and taking your time.

At Madam Anna Ekke you can enjoy a truly unique breakfast and end the day with tapas. The price-performance ratio is very fair for Munich and for the large portions (especially at breakfast). Not to be forgotten is the courteous and fast service. The atmosphere is very cozy. It's best to always make a reservation (even during the week) because it's often very busy. Heartfelt recommendation🧡

Very popular and frequented, but you also have to wait forever for food. Cake selection is very reduced, at least when we were there (1 p.m. on Sunday). Toilets dingy. Not my favorite place.

Over priced, hype-vibe over quality, service not professional. We went for brunch, one slice of bread with avocado and maybe six cherry tomatoes cost me 15Euro. I need to definitely eat something else after that. The sugar-free chai is no way free of sugar. The food is not tasty either. We ordered a bottle of water and it never arrived, despite asked for three times. I hope this is not how all the new trendy restaurants in Munich are going to be like.

Nice spot for brunch or breakfast with a small group. They were able to accommodate us without a reservation which was appreciated.

I came here with high expectations after seeing the good reviews. I was so disappointed with the food I was served. Scrambled eggs were so dense and dry, you cannot cook scrambled eggs this way in a brunch place. I paid 25 euros (with tip) for the plate in the picture + a glass of orange juice and for the quality of food this can’t be justified. I won’t visit again.

Unfortunately, even though the dishes looked pretty good, after more than an hour between waiting in line and ordering, the food never arrived since they forgot our order. What bothered us the most was the false excuse that the electricity had gone out and that's why they couldn't prepare our order when we saw the same order being paraded for many other tables and since in reality they couldn't do it anymore, because by the time they got Because of the error, they had already closed the kitchen. It's one thing to fail, and another to want to make fun of ourselves.

Went there for brunch - highly recommended!

I had a terrible experience with this place. After waiting an hour to get in, we were seated for another hour only to be told that they can’t prepare the dish we ordered. Even while others who came after us and ordered the same dish received it. The most unfortunate part was the staff’s attitude. Knowing fully well they screwed up with our order, they weren’t forthcoming. The food may be decent but it’s not worth tolerating such behaviour. I would absolutely not recommend going here.

Simply overrated. Food is OK, it actually looks OK and it is, but nothing extraordinary. Yes, I ate there too to get the incredible hype of brunch...and yes the waiting times are long. The store is easily accessible through Instagram influencers and “Munich green chic” etc. overrated. Standing in a queue for a long time (blocking the sidewalk for residents) to get a seat with a little grace, well whoever needs it, and then sitting cramped in a loud restaurant (yes, it looks pretty nice too). At least not the residents around it and not them either. But I think the best thing is the trolley that is always parked in the driveway next door, something is delivered there in the morning and the dogs and the party people pee there overnight mmmmm delicious...

I can highly recommend MAE for brunch. Prices were okay. I was there on my birthday and paid a little more than €40 for two champagne and breakfast for two people.

Came here on a recommendation, nice little restaurant/cafe, was for breakfast, great breakfast menu, very varied, also freshly squeezed juices on offer, cake counter also available, super nice and helpful staff, was very satisfied❣️ I'll be happy to come next time I'm in Munich again🤗 A little tip on the side...Your cutting knives have various difficulties doing their job 😉

I really liked the food, we ordered the shakshuka and the nutella pancakes. However, the service was extremely low... we waited for more than an hour to get served, and we had our coffee on its own. I would come back, but I hope next time they improve their times.

We arrived relatively late, but the service and food were still great. They only paid attention to the opening times briefly, but they weren't pushy. Very friendly and quick.

We were on vacation in Munich and found out about this café via Tik Tok. We can highly recommend it. It was fantastic and very tasty. You should either make a reservation or bring some time with you, but we didn't think it was a problem. I'd love to come back on my next vacation 😃😃

What a great place and food. Service was outstanding and somehow the food was even better. The avocado toast with an egg was unreasonably good. And my daughter loved the red pesto, egg, burrata sandwich she got. A must go place!

Super good breakfast menu. If you like to sit for a long time, you can spend a few hours relaxing here. An absolute plus point in Munich: you can reserve seats and don't have to queue 1 minute after opening. Thanks for that!

We were in Munich for a short trip and are very happy to have had breakfast here. The breakfast was delicious (Avo Bomb), the service was super nice, everything was well organized and the atmosphere was wonderful (you can sit outside when the sun is shining). Clear recommendation.

Excellent place to have lunch / brunch. Food was delicious and service was very friendly. Drinks were good as well. The only thing is the cue, although we with friends got seated very fast. I felt bad for the others who came later and were waiting for more than 20min. Is this something possible to fix?

Cute cafe, unfortunately overhyped… We were told that we would have to wait 45 minutes... we waited 1.5 hours for 2 loaves of bread. There was no apology. The simple black coffee only came after 30 minutes... Yes, there was a lot going on, but that much? Unfortunately it's drafty inside, but it's still nicely furnished. Eggs Benedict were like a 14 year old in biology class... half hard There were tons of chilli and caraway on the bread? Salt and pepper were at the table, but they were a foreign concept in the kitchen. There was a blunt knife for the bread... next time maybe get a sharper one for the bread. The crust could not be cut through. The salt shaker was also quite strange... very little came out in flakes. Sweet for photos… for food? It's going ok The waitresses sit at neighboring tables to collect? French toast said it was delicious, but we didn't have it. We can only rate Avo Bomb and Egg Benedict.

We visited Anna Ekke for brunch on Sunday. This was our first visit and probably our last for a foreseeable future. The vibe wasn’t there. The place was packed with 6-8 groups constantly waiting in the queue for a free table. There’s around 10 tables outside and 10 inside, which already seats a significant volume of guests. Reservations are highly recommended. Even though staff did their best in taking care of the guests (and with a smile on their face, excellent job 🥰), it did not make it up for the most obvious bottleneck, which was the kitchen. After being seated, we had placed our order within 5 minutes and got our drinks within next 5 minutes. Unfortunately, it took 50 minuted more to get our food. Five zero. When inquired about status of the order, we were told that kitchen is not dealing well with the volume of people. I think it’s very relevant to ask why does the staff keep seating people if the kitchen is overloaded instead of keeping them 5-10 more minutes in the queue. Once you are seated and you’ve placed your order, you do expect to receive the food within next 10-20 minutes. The food itself was, nevertheless, on the nicer side - incomparable to the usual breakfast junk you get around Munich. We tried Eggs Benedict and Turkish eggs. The only weak spot was the hollandaise sauce, which was diluted to the liquid consistency and had very little taste. The rest was very nice - delicious bread, good ham, perfect seasoning of Turkish eggs… Again, compared to the usual “hollandaise” = store bought Dr. Oetker mixture which is heated in the place (making it “hausgemacht”, lol), this was a perfect change. However, if you pride yourself on a homemade sauce, then please make it to appear as a sauce and not a splash of yellowish water. I do recommend everyone to visit though - despite the drawbacks, this was still the 2nd best brunch I’ve had in the city in the last 5 years. The bar for good food in Munich is unfortunately still overall rather low.

Delicious, you can't miss it, especially the shakshuka with chickpeas But come early because the wait is long even for reservations (Book before you come) We lined up at 11:30 and entered at 12:50 Our orders did not arrive until 1:55 We left at 2:30 😂 I mean, in short, it took 3 hours from our day, but it deserves a nice and delicious experience. It takes forever to serve our food

Unfortunately, at 15.30 there wes nothing to eat apart from quite unbalanced sandwiches with too much bread (also missing half ingredients mentioned in the menu, in our case rosemary and honey for goat cheese sandwich). I hope to find this place better when I visit it again at different time of day.

I've been here a few times and both times my food was nothing to remember. The bread at Benedict Eggs was so hard that I was worried about cutlery. Nothing personal, but our dishes were forgotten on both occasions, mixed up and once a different juice was brought than ordered and taken away without asking anything. Ordering in takes a while too

Very nice staff. We were there on a warm Sunday and were immediately informed that there might be longer waiting times. In the end it actually went quite quickly. The prices are reasonable, the food was tasty and fresh and it's nice to sit outside.

I've now been to Madam Anna Ekke twice simply for how delicious their food is. Both times were for brunch and without reservation, of course with reservation one can avoid the issue of long waits, although I have never encountered that issue at this place (also fault's on me if I don't reserve). I adore breakfast options and their menu doesn't disappoint at all. The egg sandwich with kimchi was absolutely spectacular, the pancakes and huevos rancheros as well. I am a particularly big fan of the big portion sizes, explaining the slightly higher price. The coffee and drink selection is equally as exciting and satisfying. Service was also always very polite, accommodating and welcoming. I can only recommend this spot for a wonderful sunny sunday brunch!

Atmospheric place, I recommend making a reservation for Saturday, otherwise there is a probability of waiting. The menu was only in German) which I and many other visitors do not know (everyone used a translator) and the menu itself needs to be updated, the text has been erased for many months😂 The food was served for quite a long time, the toast was not bad, but with burnt bacon and cold (bacon is just in a chip, not in a good way), shakshuka was ordinary (be sure to add feta with it, it is much tastier). Carrot juice, the tastiest thing we ordered 😅

The food was just bad. Too expensive and it didn't even taste good. 10 euros for two thin slices of bland chicken. The cherry chocolate cake was okay, but the chocolate banana cake was a bit dry. The only thing I enjoyed was the atmosphere and the bread.

Although we didn't make a reservation, space was made available - but it's advisable as it's always incredibly busy. This is due to the artistic ambience and the unusual food. We had breakfast there and were impressed by the quality. Friendly staff and raised but reasonable prices. The freshly squeezed juices and the “Ekk Benedikt” are recommended at any time.

Had very high expectations for Madam Anna Ekke, sadly they were not met. The food was okay to say the least (we had the Kimchi Eggdrop and Eggs Benedict) but we expected better. A glass of sparkling tap water cost 2.80€ which in my opinion is absurd.

I ordered Eggs Royale and my partner ordered Eggs Florentine. For breakfast in Munich (where options are limited) it was good. To be honest it was nice, nice portions and the eggs were well cooked

We ate at this place last summer in July and really although it has good reviews and we had high expectations it was disappointing I made a reservation and when we arrived the staff practically didn't even determine us I had to go after someone and tell them that we had a reservation and so on, and the The place was not even full, additionally the spaces between the tables are small and that is not comfortable, the food is quite bad and the prices are expensive for what one receives sincerely I would never return and I do not recommend it either. It would be nice if they improved their service and the food is also very basic but it is not well done, it is really not worth it. And very important to mention when I wrote the review at that time they wanted to delete it and that speaks very badly of the place, a good restaurant must accept criticism and learn from it to improve for the customer.
