We had a lovely experience there! Food, stuff and vibe quite grand <3

The waiters realized we were tourists and didn’t allow us to sit at the good tables. They seated us at a dirty, broken one. Absolutely disgusting!

Positive: I like the dimly lit bar atmosphere in the evenings. I think it's very nicely decorated and you can sit outside. The service was very good, there's something for everyone in terms of drinks. They're practically the best mojos I've ever had (both varieties). Overall, the vegetarian tapas are okay to good, and there's a wide selection of delicious cakes, delivered from a small, artisanal bakery. Overall, the prices are okay for Munich and for tapas. Contrary: The papas arrugadas are NOT papas arrugadas = wrinkled potatoes, but rather just plain old boiled potatoes. Papas arrugadas have to be simmered in salted water for a long time to develop their characteristic, shriveled, salt-crusted skin, which, unfortunately, we didn't get. The papas cheese version had too little cheese on it, which my companion found rather stingy. The pickled artichokes were also a joke, because they tasted just like the ones from the jar, not grilled, in oil but in their own juice. Most of the tables are very cramped and uncomfortable, with far too little room for many small tapas dishes and drinks. I/we would gladly come back, but not for dinner, but rather for a drink and a few snacks later in the evening.

The atmosphere is pleasant and youthful, and there is a light feeling that is suitable for hanging out with friends. The dishes are delicious and take great photos for Instagram, although it is not particularly exceptional food. The bacon served was too dry for my taste, but the coffee was excellent and especially worth it. The service was polite and efficient, which added to the positive experience. The significant drawback is the crowding – the place was so busy that we felt as if the table next to us was sitting with us. In summary, a nice and fun experience, but less suitable for those looking for personal space or particularly high-quality food.

Everything was very nice and relaxed. I really like the casual design and concept of the restaurant – sitting outside in the summer is, of course, wonderful! The service, in my opinion, was impeccable and very friendly/authentic. The food was nicely presented, but unfortunately, the taste didn't impress me this time. I found the "Turkish Ekks" quite bland/boring and had expected a bit more from the description...

Great café. I always enjoy going there whenever I'm in Munich. I highly recommend it.

The waiters show with their whole appearance that they are not very happy to see you because they are in a hurry, preparing any breakfast takes from 30 minutes because the kitchen is also in a hurry

The food was very good, but the service was lacking. We had to wait a long time, and one dish arrived significantly later than the others. This was a bit frustrating when you're really hungry, even when it was busy.

Honestly was one of the worst experiences for brunch in Munich. The food serving took 1 h, the food was not tasty at all (for 3 different dishes we chose), was cold and super hard to even cut with the knife. The only good thing is the good location and the enteriour design of the place. Not recommending to anyone unfortunately :(

We really enjoyed our experience at this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and plentiful, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, which made us feel very comfortable. A special thanks to Julian for his outstanding service and warm attitude – he really made our visit even better. There were only seats outside, but with the heaters and blankets, it was a great place to sit. The food was very good! The service was extremely friendly, and even though it was busy, we felt well looked after.

A very nice and popular café with a French atmosphere. The bread with avocado spread and eggs was delicious. The noise level was a bit too high for me; it's better to have a conversation outside.

A place you can go to without hesitation. There are a few small things that could be improved: the eggs were a bit bland, and the excellent Tyrolean ham was too tough. We also ordered French toast, which could have been a bit crispier for my taste. But overall, with the fruit, etc., the sweetness was very pleasant.

The breakfast was incredible and the coffee was amazing ! One waitress was so kind and very attentive, one was very German, but they were overall not rude just a bit blunt. I overall had a pleasant experience.

The service is really terrible. We waited half an hour for a server to even notice us (even though there were two of them) to place our order. The food didn't arrive until an hour later.

There was no service here. We waited for 1.5 hours for food that never came. In the end we had to walk out. They still made us pay for the coffee and showed no sign of being apologetic for the non existent service. This wasn’t an isolated incident - all other tables around us were empty of food. Don’t waste your time.

Absolute disaster – never again! We waited an incredible 1.5 hours – and that for a simple breakfast: eggs and bread. Nothing fancy, nothing complicated. Still, no food arrived. The service was not only slow, but also rude and cheeky – completely disrespectful to guests. In the end, we even had to pay €8 for the coffee, without any apology or sign of regret. Bottom line: Unfriendly, unprofessional, you leave the place hungry and annoyed. If you don't want to be treated disrespectfully, you should avoid this place at all costs.

Please go somewhere else! It took 1 hour and 45 minutes to get the order and we were forced to leave the table after 15 minutes. You should learn what hospitality and service are. I ask myself how you can run a business in this way. I just stayed there because I was invited otherwise I would have left straight away without even leaving a cent. Just another snobby place for radical chic Münchers. Horrible.

Quite a nice place for young people. Standard coffee (no matcha, etc.), small, simple dishes, and in the afternoons, only cakes and sandwiches.

Friendly and quick staff, incredible food with a wide selection, fair prices for the quality and portions.

We were there for tapas - absolutely delicious! 4 tapas per couple plus bread and aioli was definitely plenty :) I also recommend the Crema Catalan :)

Dear Madam Anna Ekke Team, The three of us visited your place last week, having previously searched for a good place for breakfast and brunch, and we stumbled upon you. The restaurant was beautifully located and, at first glance, seemed to meet our expectations. Unfortunately, the reception was very chaotic, but this isn't surprising when almost everything is full and we hadn't made a reservation—our fault. The service initially seemed very attentive, but after the food was ordered and served, we were unfortunately ignored, and plates were taken away without a word. We weren't asked if everything was OK or if there were any other requests. I had the shakshuka and was really disappointed. The eggs were overcooked and the egg whites were already slightly dark and burnt, and the sauce was unfortunately very "soapy" due to too much coriander. We noticed that the potential is there, but due to the number of guests, time and craftsmanship may have been neglected. Therefore, we decided to give it 3 stars anyway, as it would probably be much better when there is less going on.

Best brunch experience so far ! The food is really good and portions are worth it ! I recommend ekk royale and latte macchiato! The staff is friendly and atmosphere nice too !

A very special breakfast. Their food is very fresh and delicious, and the service is more than wonderful, especially (Julian). He even has good suggestions for halal food. I highly recommend it.

A really great spot for tapas and drinks in the evening. You won't find many tourists here, which adds to the atmosphere. Go a bit later in the evening and stroll through this charming neighborhood first. There's also a really nice store selling LPs on the street where Madam Anna Ekke is.

A very good restaurant. Super friendly service with good advice. We were able to try all three white wines before ordering a bottle. The tapas are very good, top quality, and well-seasoned. We would definitely go back.

The vibe of the space is really nice, it feels super open and bright and there's lots of plants which makes the space feel cozy as well. We didn't make a reservation but managed to get a table with only around 5 mins of wait (it was around 10 am on a sunny Saturday). The food looks great on photos and I had high expectations based on the ratings. However, I was a bit disappointed in the dishes we ordered. The brioche (as the main element for some of the dishes) felt too dense and chewy. And for the French toast, I was expecting the bread to get fully soaked and fried in the batter, but it was only coating the surface of the bread so it basically felt like eating a slice of brioche with some cream and jam on top (see photo). The avocado and egg bread was also missing an element to give it a bit of a kick, like a bit of a chilly oil or a zesty flavor. Coffee flavors were good and not overly milky. Overall average food in my opinion despite the high ratings, but nice place and vibe.

Absolutely loved this place! The food was so different and tasty. Service was prompt and the waiters were really helpful in deciding what to order and find replacements for the dishes. Loved the goat cheese with tomato chutney and walnuts (forgot the name of the tapas) but highly recommend it!

A cool Munich hipster café in a trendy neighborhood. Good quality, great selection, and especially noteworthy is that the menu features items you can't get everywhere, like shakshuka or other oriental-inspired dishes. The variations of bread and egg, sometimes with avocado, sometimes with bacon, aren't something you can get everywhere. It's fun, but in my opinion, it doesn't quite match the shame, the uniqueness, the heart of Café Aroma, which sadly closed in 2022.

Delicious Eggs Benedict (royal), though a bit spicy. I scraped off the red bits (chili?), and then it was fine. The orange/ginger tea gave off its warmth to the glass and was only lukewarm; the water was reheated. Friendly and efficient staff with a good overview.

FINALLY, a café that serves absolutely delicious breads with sharp knives for slicing them. The ambiance and, even more so, the service are excellent; the tea, even after steeping for half an hour, barely had any color and even less flavor to be extracted from the stylish tea bag.

The ambiance is great, and the service is also decent. While they are very polite, they are a bit slow and forgetful. The food was unfortunately disappointing. We had the vegan shakshuka, which was really not tasty. Unfortunately, it was just a bell pepper soup with grated tofu and a very pungent caraway flavor. We also had the kimchi egg drop. This was extremely dry, and the contents were unevenly distributed, which was very annoying. There was kimchi in one bite, egg in the other, and the rest was just bread. The French toast was good, nothing special, but somehow very dry despite the syrup. Only edible with cream.

Been here a few times, and food has always been consistently amazing! A reservation is definitely a must, especially on good weather days. Some drinks are a bit on the pricey side, but overall, I would still consider it worth it.

The tapas were delicious. My Aperol Spritz was unfortunately very low in alcohol, and when I asked if they could mix it again, there was no response. They served me the same thing again. Therefore, unfortunately, I can't rate the service highly.

The bread was way tooooooo hard to cut or bite, and it took ages to order or to get our food or even to get the bill..... It's an Instagram pic restaurant, that's it.

Nice place but we waited more than 5 min to be seated. I had the Huevos Rancheros, which tasted strange for me, since it was prepared similarly to Mexican style. Choosing the dishes would have been easier if the menu had pictures.

The food is absolutely delicious, enough for four people. We ordered: The Nutella pancakes were delicious. The egg toast without salmon was amazing. And the French toast was delicious. The restaurant was flawless. The service was wonderful and friendly. I highly recommend it. We made a reservation just in case, even though the place wasn't crowded. I rate it 10/10.

Well I go alone but I was lucky I didn’t wait too much as long the girls taking booking told me if 1 hour enough for me to eat 😅 so crowded inside and the table next to each other well super noisy I don’t recommend it if u re looking for calm place to start your day ,service fast but they was just robotic customer service no smile no asking about reviews and for me I don’t prefer this kind of place after all it’s beautiful inside and ve unique design and their food yummy 🤤 ✨

I waited over an hour for a sandwich with scrambled eggs and no side dishes. Then I waited forever to pay because there was only a card reader. I've been there three times now, and the service was terrible each time. The only thing I liked about the place is the ambiance and the location.

First of all, the service was extremely disappointing. We arrived earlier than some other guests, yet the staff chose to seat them before us. After we were finally seated, it took a long time for anyone to take our order. To make matters worse, the dishes were served incorrectly. Now, let’s talk about the food. Hmm… the bread was harder than the soles of my shoes—does this restaurant even have an oven? When it came time to pay, things got even more frustrating. A dark-haired female staff member was busy chatting with her friends and completely ignored us, even when we made eye contact. When she finally came over, she asked us, with an air of arrogance, how much tip we were going to leave. We did end up leaving a 5-euro tip—not because we were satisfied, but out of basic courtesy as customers.

A very nice restaurant with light meals for dinner. Four tapas are more than enough for two people if you're not too hungry. The portions are definitely large enough, and there's plenty of choice, even for vegetarians. Everything was delicious.

My daughters invited me here on Mother's Day, partly because of the good reviews... and I was unfortunately disappointed. The service was abysmally inattentive. For example, we waited over 45 minutes to order our food, even though we had made an early reservation. We've worked in the restaurant industry ourselves and are really very understanding and patient... especially when it's busy. But the worst of it was that I paid the €98 with a €100 bill and didn't want to leave a tip this time (!!) because of the inattentive service... and the waitress took the €100 bill and disappeared without giving me the change... she also looked a bit annoyed by this small "tip" and left without another word... speechless... I usually always tip well, but I didn't see the point in this case, as the prices here aren't exactly low either. I was truly speechless... I didn't want to make a big deal about 2 euros. I was only visiting Munich for one day and didn't want any trouble... but that was the absolute worst. And by the way, this is my first bad review ever.

Cozy, trendy café/restaurant with a young clientele. Large, extensive menu, something for every taste... I would have loved to try more! Fast, very friendly service! Great selection of drinks. Vegan and lactose-free options available. The black bread with avocado spread, ham, and poached egg was very tasty, and the crispy bacon was delicious! 😋 The freshly squeezed orange/carrot juice with ginger was fantastic 👍 I/we will be back! Craving led us here—and no regrets! We came without a reservation and found out the place was fully booked (hot tip: definitely make a booking!). Luckily, we managed to get a seat outside, and the team was kind enough to offer us blankets because it’s gloomy and windy—such a thoughtful touch on a chilly day. The chai latte was absolutely amazing—comforting and full of flavor. We had the shakshuka and a sandwich (wish I remembered the name!), both served fresh with great quality ingredients. Nice service, quick food, very tasty and also cool, unusual dishes for breakfast, not just scrambled eggs with wheat rolls. Also a good vegan selection. However, prices are rather more expensive for breakfast.

The food was nothing special and the drinks were much too watery, there was also a waiter who was much too cheeky and none of the card readers worked, which given the bill you would expect to pay €10 for 4 mini minced meat balls in tomato sauce is bottomless and I could have easily eaten 15 such tapas plates because they were really just so tiny and simply outrageous for the price

Once again typical for Munich. Make yourself exclusive and you will be run in. The coffee took longer than the food. We went for breakfast and unfortunately it was one of the most disappointing eggs Benedict ever. The sourdough bread is almost impossible to eat. It is absolutely not a complete failure. But long lines to eat and pay for it. Munich, are you serious?

Really lovely brunch spot with a great atmosphere ( great interior design!!!)and super friendly staff. The food was excellent. I was about to give it 5 stars! However, when I got the bill, I noticed that the juice I ordered cost €7.50. I didn’t check the price on the menu beforehand (my mistake, I’m sure it was listed), but for a small portion — maybe 0.4L — I found that a bit too expensive. That’s the only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5. Otherwise, a great place I’d still recommend!

Super delicious breakfast and prepared with attention to detail. The selection is very extensive and the portions are large. From savory to sweet, everything is there. The service was very friendly, quick and accommodating, even though it was very busy. Another plus point: There are plenty of outdoor spaces in the sun. Clear recommendation!

We were there for brunch on a Sunday. Honestly – I wouldn’t recommend this place. The poached eggs were actually hard-boiled, and unfortunately the bread and salmon didn't taste particularly good either. The pancakes were overcooked and very dry. The coffee was also disappointing and unfortunately not good. On weekends it is best to reserve at least two weeks in advance. We spontaneously got a place for two people, but after 11 a.m. you hardly have a chance of getting a table.

The food was ok but not particularly good, you can give it 5 stars. There are chives in almost all foods. If you don't like it, you have to let us know in advance. What occurred to me was that the woman said the wrong thing twice when paying 🫠or. more money. If I haven't just seen the amount on the machine, then we will pay >10 euros more. And in the end she still gave more tips in Pos. One time you can say it's a mistake, but several times it's not an oversight🫣🫣🫣

The restaurant is okay. As they themselves stated, the kitchen is small and the wait time is long. But that doesn't excuse the poor and disorganized service. There are too many tables for the small space. Growth and development are part of the business—the staff needs better training. The experience was mediocre. I wouldn't go back.

We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. While the food was decent, the service completely ruined our visit. The staff was inattentive, unhelpful, and seemed indifferent to our presence. We had to wait an unreasonably long time just to place our order, and when the food finally arrived, some items were incorrect. Getting the attention of the servers was nearly impossible, and they showed no interest in making things right. To top it off, the overall atmosphere felt unwelcoming. We definitely wouldn’t recommend this place and won’t be returning.

Super cool and hip café! I went here with my friends for brunch. It's a good idea to make a reservation in advance, as the café gets very busy. My avocado bread with poached egg was a generous portion, and I was full afterward. The prices are normal and reasonable for Munich, and the service is very friendly and fast. Dogs are allowed; if you mention this in your reservation, the staff will even find a quiet corner for your dog!

So I was really looking forward to the delicious carrot cake and wanted to pick one up to take home. But the mini piece that was given to me upside down for €4.90 is really a disgrace.

Brunch Review The food was good, but the bacon was overcooked—more like wood than crispy bacon. If you have weak teeth, be careful! As tourists, we got a table right after opening, but only for an hour. The space was quite cramped due to the close tables and the number of people moving around. It didn’t feel very comfortable.

Super tasty and very large selection. The local is very small, which is why there isn't that much space. However, the outdoor area provides relief in this regard.
