Madam Anna Ekke in München

We went there for brunch on a Sunday. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this place. The poached eggs were actually hard-boiled, and the bread and salmon unfortunately didn't taste particularly good either. The pancakes were overcooked and very dry. The coffee was also disappointing and unfortunately not good. On weekends, it's best to make reservations at least two weeks in advance. We managed to get a spot for two people on the spot, but after 11 a.m., there's almost no chance of getting a table.

The food was ok but not particularly good, you can give it 5 stars. There are chives in almost all foods. If you don't like it, you have to let us know in advance. What occurred to me was that the woman said the wrong thing twice when paying 🫠or. more money. If I haven't just seen the amount on the machine, then we will pay >10 euros more. And in the end she still gave more tips in Pos. One time you can say it's a mistake, but several times it's not an oversight🫣🫣🫣

Very nice and cozy café / restaurant with delicious drinks & tapas, great taste! Price performance is right, and we were also thrilled by the diverse vegetarian tapas selection. Unfortunately we have to deduct points for the service, which was friendly but not particularly attentive or quick. Since I also appreciate the café for the great brunch, I'll definitely come back :)

The restaurant is okay. As they themselves stated, the kitchen is small and the wait time is long. But that doesn't excuse the poor and disorganized service. There are too many tables for the small space. Growth and development are part of the business—the staff needs better training. The experience was mediocre. I wouldn't go back.

We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. While the food was decent, the service completely ruined our visit. The staff was inattentive, unhelpful, and seemed indifferent to our presence. We had to wait an unreasonably long time just to place our order, and when the food finally arrived, some items were incorrect. Getting the attention of the servers was nearly impossible, and they showed no interest in making things right. To top it off, the overall atmosphere felt unwelcoming. We definitely wouldn’t recommend this place and won’t be returning.

My breakfast was delicious. The place fills up quickly so our table for 2 was accommodated but I've been there with larger groups and been turned away without a reservation.

The waitress forgot a few of our orders, but it wasn't a big deal. She was very friendly, apologized, and gave us a piece of cake on the house. :) The poppy seed cake was veeery delicious!

The food is really great, and you can get a seat relatively quickly, even when it's busy. We went there for brunch, and they also have a good selection for vegans. The café is a bit cramped, but that's hardly a problem. However, if you're coming with a larger group, I think you should make a reservation. A really great café, and we'd love to go back :)

Super cool and hip café! I went here with my friends for brunch. It's a good idea to make a reservation in advance, as the café gets very busy. My avocado bread with poached egg was a generous portion, and I was full afterward. The prices are normal and reasonable for Munich, and the service is very friendly and fast. Dogs are allowed; if you mention this in your reservation, the staff will even find a quiet corner for your dog!

So I was really looking forward to the delicious carrot cake and wanted to pick one up to take home. But the mini piece that was given to me upside down for €4.90 is really a disgrace.

Brunch Review The food was good, but the bacon was overcooked—more like wood than crispy bacon. If you have weak teeth, be careful! As tourists, we got a table right after opening, but only for an hour. The space was quite cramped due to the close tables and the number of people moving around. It didn’t feel very comfortable.

Super tasty and very large selection. The local is very small, which is why there isn't that much space. However, the outdoor area provides relief in this regard.

Great tapas restaurant with super delicious food and very friendly, attentive service! The atmosphere is cozy and stylish, but the tables are quite close together, so you have to be prepared for that. It's a shame there's no more chorizo ​​- otherwise it would be absolutely perfect!

Pancakes tasted too much like dough, I wouldn't order them again. The food tastes good, but I would like smaller portions to be offered. Personally, I would very much welcome this option.

Divine with a capital D! My absolute favourite new brunch place! Couldn’t decide what I wanted for the life of me because everything looked and sounded amazing. The Turkish eggs and the (Mexican?) eggs (I forgot the name of I’m so sorry) were stunning. Going back next week because there’s more to try! Edit: went back today and was yet again incredibly happy!! The shakshuka was so tasty and so filling, the kimchi pancakes though, they took the cake, 10/10

Really nice atmosphere and great food

There were two of us, the café was very full, we had to wait a bit for our reserved table because we were there 10 minutes early. Since it was very crowded, very loud atmosphere. Delicious selection of dishes, I had avocado toast with pouched eggs, unfortunately the protein was still extremely slippery.

Very cozy location for brunch. We had shakshukka, poor knights and the bread with salmon and it was all really delicious ☺️

For us as late risers and all-day breakfast eaters, an absolute highlight in the Glockenbachviertel! The two of us were spontaneously looking for a nice breakfast café around lunchtime on a Friday and happened to come across Madam Anna Ekke. Despite the large number of visitors, we got a table after a few minutes of waiting and were quickly served in a very friendly manner. The hot drinks are large and reasonably priced, and we were absolutely thrilled with the food. We had the poor knight with fresh berries and the hummus brekkie. Both were fantastic, large portions and absolutely delicious. The map invites you to eat your way through. Lots of sweet and savory options, there is something for every taste. The atmosphere in the café is also very cozy. Everything is clean, there was enough staff and we felt completely comfortable :) thank you, dear Madam Anna Ekke team! We'll definitely be back :)

+ Big portions, good food, good poached eggs, tasty sugarless chai latte, the food came quickly - the bread was a bit too thick for my liking and the crust was a bit hard to cut and chew, the chai latte came out with 1-2 clumps of powder. Overall, very good breakfast experience, would go again.

Here's a really good tip for delicious Spanish tapas! Despite a full reservation, we were lucky and were able to get a table after a 5-minute wait. The service is very friendly and extremely attentive. The food was really tasty, especially the goat cheese was great! The bread and aioli went great as a side dish. For dessert there was a Creme Catalana, which tasted good but tasted more like vanilla pudding. The restaurant is fully recommended!

Lovely menu, plenty of choice and the food was so yummy. We liked the coffee so much we ended up getting 2 cappuccinos each 😆. It was very busy when we visited so we decided to sit outside and I love the fact that there are blankets on all the chairs outside so if it is a little chilly you can still be nice and cosy while you enjoy your food! 😊

We wanted to have breakfast here on a Sunday without a reservation and were very pleasantly surprised. Despite the full house, we only had a short wait to get a table because the staff were still carrying out chairs and tables. The food was also phenomenal, every breakfast fan will get their money's worth here - whether sweet or savory.

Would highly recommend their French toast & also the avocado on toast with an addition of bacon & scrambled eggs. Prices are good for Munich and the location is central so super convenient. I was invited here as a surprise for my birthday by my loved ones. The ambience is quite nice. Small and cozy. It was reserved in advance and that is also highly recommended. We were seated at the table near the counter - which was a bit challenging at times because the people from the next table to the left had almost their jackets in our food. The food/tapas tasted fantastic and the drinks were also very good. Due to the number of small offers, you will of course arrive at a certain price. Sometimes we ordered the same dishes again if they were particularly good. We will come back.

Very friendly service! The food is quite aesthetic and really delicious! Can only talk about the Avocado-Bread and the dishes with scrambled eggs ^^ Love the coffee there. For all those who unfortunately can only drink Decaf, this place also provides Decaf for you all 😌

The service was absolutely disastrous! The employee with glasses, dark hair and a strong build behaved in an impossible way: she shouted at us behind the counter - even though we were shopping there! Such audacity is unacceptable. That was on December 8th, and whoever knows this person should seriously consider quitting. Such behavior is an absolute no-go! That was the worst experience I've ever had.

I had the misfortune of visiting Madame Anna Ekke in Munich and it was a disastrous experience. The hygiene left a lot to be desired; the tables were dirty and the toilets were in an unacceptable condition. The food was disappointing - the shakshuka was bland and cold, and the portions were far too small for the price. To make matters worse, I had to wait over 45 minutes for my breakfast even though the cafe wasn't even full. I can't recommend this cafe to anyone who values ​​cleanliness and good food.

Absolute favorite spot, both for brunch and tapas😊 the waitresses/waiters are always super nice and attentive and the pancakes are just a dream! Plus the prices are really fair for what you get. Can recommend it 100% :)

We were there on a Saturday morning without a reservation. Unfortunately it was very full and we had to wait a bit, but then we got a great seat on the terrace. The waitress was new there, but really sweet and attentive. The menu offers a wide selection, including vegetarian/vegan options. The food was super good!

It shouldn’t take 55 minutes for 2 shakshuka and 2 egg benedict to prepare. If it does, either restaurant is working with higher capacity than it should or not enough chef is available in the kitchen. Food was delicious though.

1. Location The café is about a 20-minute walk from the main train station, which is an acceptable location. 2. Food The breakfast was disappointing. The bread was not toasted and the filling made it soggy, making it inedible - ultimately all that was left was the filling. The “homemade hollandaise sauce” with the Eggs Benedict was also nowhere to be found. The coffee, however, was good, which is the only positive aspect. 4. Service The service was neither attentive nor friendly. Even though the store was only half full, the orders had to be repeated several times. In addition, the employees were not open to criticism. 5. Ambiance The ambience was fine, but there were a lot of wasps outside, which is why we chose indoors. Conclusion Unfortunately, we would not visit this café again and cannot recommend it.

Nice place, make sure you book before you go

Compared to the last time today, our visit was almost disappointing. Shakshuka was ordered with hummus (which wasn't served at first, but ok, it happened) and Ekk Benedikt. You get a basket of bread with the shakshuka, but it was so dry that you could hardly chew it, but ok, it happened (we got a small cola from the house for that). The eggs inside were fully cooked but not poached like they should be, but ok, it happened. If you compare the photos of other Shakshuka's in the gallery, there was almost nothing green on top for me, but ok, it happened. At the Ekk Benedikt an egg was full of spices on top, as if the lid had suddenly come off while seasoning, and the piece of bread was also dry The staff is friendly, but can't serve so many tables quickly, the ambience is also good, but the general opinion today was "but ok, it happened", so today it's simply 3 stars and nothing more

Very cute shop with a perfect selection of brunch dishes. The taste was also very good, although there was only a little milk foam in the cappuccino, which was completely gone after about 10 minutes. Unfortunately, the service wasn't entirely satisfactory either. Everything took a very long time. I ordered Avo Bomb with scrambled eggs, unfortunately it came without scrambled eggs. It's just a slice of bread with avocado and spices. I complained about this straight away. But then I had to ask twice over half an hour what was wrong with the scrambled eggs. Really a shame. I also think that just under €13 for a slice of bread with avocado on it is pretty expensive. The freshly squeezed mixed juice was very tasty. Unfortunately, there is only one toilet and one urinal, which would also require one or two repairs. The toilet cubicle also serves as a changing room. Everything is very tight. CONCLUSION: Nice ambience with an incredibly great basic idea, but the execution leaves something to be desired.

I've had breakfast here several times and am always impressed - I can especially recommend the Huevos Racheros and the Chai Latte. It's especially nice to sit outside and the service is very attentive. Weekends are usually busy, so be sure to make a reservation or allow yourself some time.

To be honest, it's a bit ordinary, so I didn't go out of my way to come here. I thought the food would be more diverse, and the overall taste was okay. The eggs Benedict was delicious and there was bread.

The service staff was attentive and the food came super quickly. The drinks were good, but we didn't like the food. We had the Kimchi and Ekks Benedict dish which was far from the original. And unfortunately there was an unpleasant smell of vinegar and eggs inside. We were quickly gone again.

We've wanted to go here for a long time. Were there at lunchtime and therefore just at the time when the lunch menu (no brunch; “only” 3 focaccias were available to choose from, of which there was only one left. If I offer food at lunchtime and the time for this has just started or was close to it .. Would it be an option to leave breakfast/brunch as an alternative? Focaccia was also more of a 4/10 as was the service. The ambience itself is quite nice - I think it's a better place for breakfast or evening than at lunchtime. Maybe it was because it was during the week including the holiday season, I don't know. In summary: expandable.

You have to wait a long time to get a table. Some people got tables inside although we were in front of them in the line and we wanted to sit inside. They dint have a reservation. We also dint have one. Food ist okay.

For the high prize, very low quantity of food. Just 1 slice of bread for almost 16 Euros is ridiculous.

Arrived after a 30 minute journey only to be told their kitchen is closed even though they were opened. Shows that they don't plan enough for a busy day.
