The food is delicious. This restaurant offers a small but varied menu, with everything from meat to vegan options. The food is attractively presented. The food and drinks arrive quickly. The staff were very friendly.

Legendary vegetarian burger Service too

When we sat down outside at around 5 p.m., there were only two guests left at another large table. We were asked to take another table for two, as the waitress explained that six more guests could be coming. No one asked what they'd like to drink or eat, not a friendly word! There were about 10 tables left free. We were impressed by the service, and we went straight to the ballroom where we received friendly service.

An absolute insider tip in Schongau – The Löwenhof is a real highlight! It was my first time there and I was completely blown away. From the lovingly designed ambiance to the attentive, incredibly friendly service to the fresh, creative cuisine – everything is just right here! The courtyard is a little oasis in the summer: cozy, comfortable, and decorated with great attention to detail. You immediately feel welcome and at home – almost like being in your own garden, only more stylish. The relaxed atmosphere attracts a diverse crowd: young and old, families, couples, and groups of friends – everyone is welcome here, even dogs! The food? A poem! Every plate is not only a visual delight, but also tastes excellent. I particularly recommend the goat cheese salads, the homemade tomato soup, and the sophisticated burgers – all freshly prepared and with high-quality ingredients. The small bar snacks like truffle fries or the bar basket are also a hit! The drinks menu offers a great selection of cocktails, beers, and wines – ideal for a relaxed evening with friends or a nice date. And the value for money is really excellent for this quality! What makes the Löwenhof special, however, is the combination of warmth, style, and creativity. You can simply tell that the people here are passionate about their work and pay attention to detail. I'll definitely be back again and again – for me, the Löwenhof is the most beautiful place in Schongau to eat well, drink well, and enjoy life. Unreserved recommendation – 10 out of 5 stars!

Small restaurant in the center of Schongau, we were looking for a place for a quick lunch. We ordered two hamburgers with a portion of fries to share, generous portions and everything was delicious. In addition, lunch in sweet company with the owner's big cat.

Very good food in a charming courtyard. You can tell the hostess puts a lot of heart and soul into her work. Friendly service and very good burgers!

We stopped by motorbike in Schongau. We were warmly welcomed at the Löwenhof. The order was completed quickly and the food and drinks arrived quickly. The food was very good and the prices were fair. Can be recommended without reservation.

We would like to have dinner there for four people, which according to the notice in front of the restaurant is possible until 9 p.m. Inside there was the sobering announcement that the kitchen had just closed (it was 8:30 p.m.) because the chef/chef wanted to finish work now. The kitchen doesn't have a particularly long time until 9 p.m., and closing even earlier even though it's advertised otherwise isn't very customer-friendly. As a guest, you don't feel welcome at a moment like this and prefer to move on. Although there aren't many alternatives in Schongau, we spontaneously found something somewhere else and got our fill. The Löwenhof was and is a nice location for drinks. However, going out to eat spontaneously despite delicious food is increasingly unsuitable if you don't want to expose yourself to arbitrariness and disappointment.

Restaurant with a cozy inner courtyard - the ambience is great! We had dinner here on a warm summer evening. All dishes (starter mix, burger, curry, ...) were very tasty! The selection of dishes and drinks is great, something different than the classic restaurants in the area. The service is very friendly, attentive and attentive.

If you were to reduce Schongau to a few hundred square meters and keep this store, you actually wouldn't have lost much. The heart and soul of the city. In here, friends were made, celebrated, loved, lived. It's surprising to me why the city doesn't subsidize the store. This is not a simple bistro, but a cultural asset. And then there's me. I felt like I was as old as the city itself, and I was in kindergarten with this weird guy. He said he wanted to be a bartender when he grew up and I was like, "What's a bar?" On to elementary school, then on to high school in Schongau. "You have to serve detention? Top, I'll wait for you in the yard." I often had to serve detention. We were often in the 'Hof. So *really* often. The guy goes to study in Munich, graduates successfully, then throws everything to the wind, comes back and takes over the shop. Some people simply have a calling. And that's good. He brings with him a certain culinary finesse that gives every dish a special touch. Otherwise everything is the same, you celebrate, you love, you live. As it should be. Of course, this is a very subjective view on my part, but for me the shop is not a bistro, not a cafe, but a second home. I would like to be there every day. I am an old man with a family and three children. I can do it once a quarter. Thank God the children will move out in 20 years, then I can come back every day. Hopefully I'll be more sensible than before. I was lying there in the men's toilet until the cleaning lady drove me home. Hey, you only live once. But you can see what ambition the staff has. I am a relic from a past before the internet and social media. There were certain “hot spots” back then where people got up to speed. Where things just happened. The 'Hof was the most important of these. And you can still feel this feeling of being at the ravages of time today. Now, 30 years later, what has changed? Nothing at all. Thank God. Ok admittedly the food got better. The “trip” to Munich was worth it, Markus.

Great atmosphere, especially in the beautiful green courtyard in summer! But otherwise it's very comfortable to sit inside. So far everyone has always enjoyed it very much. If you have celiac disease: you don't have to explain anything, the kitchen knows! It's best to call a few hours in advance, so it's easier for the chefs to take extra care. I always have a veggie burger without bread, with a salad with a delicious dressing. Many thanks to the team for their consideration! One of the few remaining bars in the area that everyone still loves to go to! (Ordering for pickup is also possible)

I can recommend it without hesitation. Food tasted good and cocktails were great. Price/performance very good.

We had a lovely lunch at the restaurant terrace, located inside the old town centre with many historical buildings. The service lady is charming and so helpful. We ordered a burger, french fries and a small salad. Food is OK but too salty for our taste, a pity.

Urige Kneipe mit super Küche. Für Veganer gibt es leider nur einen Burger und den Spaceballs-Salat. Der war lecker und üppig bemessen. Komme gerne wieder.

Traditions Kneipe, mit 1a Personal. Die Speisekarte ist überschaubar, allerdings ist alles frisch und Sonderwünsche werden berücksichtigt. Es dauert etwas länger aber die Küche ist auch recht klein. Ich komme gern wieder. Und wieder. Und wieder.

Ein verstecktes Kleinod wird mit viel Engagement und Freude zelebriert. Die Tomatensuppe und die Burger waren sehr lecker. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Für mich in Schongau der Place to be, wen man einen gemütlichen Nachmittag oder Abend verbringen will. Im Hof ist es selbst im Hochsommer angenehm, und ansonsten ist es in der Gastronomie sehr gemütlich.

Super netter Laden, gibt für (wahrscheinlich) fast jeden Geschmack was.

Waren auf einen Kaffee drin und ich muss sagen, man sollte es sich mal anschauen und genießen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, das Ambiente mege toll und der Hinterhof einfach nur schön zum chillen. Das Abschluss gab es noch einen Nachtisch genannt" Derbes Hüftgold". Kann ich nur empfehlen schmeckt mega.

Sehr gutes Essen und super Service. Sind auf alle Wünsche eingegangen. War ein entspanntes und angenehmes Ambiente. Auf jeden Fall weiter zu empfehlen.

Heute zum ersten Mal besucht und nicht das letzte Mal. Zuvorkommender Service, leckeres Essen und Preisleistung top.

Für einen Arbeitskollegen und mich war es heute an einem Montag der perfekte Zufluchtsort! In einem sehr schönen und ruhigen Innenhof gab es ein super Outdoor Restaurant mit humorvollem und sehr sympathischem Personal! Der hauseigene Eistee (Cranberry-Himbeere) ist echt mega lecker, der andere Eistee laut des Trinkverhaltens meines Kollegen umso besser :D Zu essen gab es bei mir einen Salat mit Ziegenkäse. Geschmacklich war der Salat mit dem Dressing super lecker! Der wird beim nächsten Besuch direkt wieder bestellt! Apropos beim nächsten Besuch: Wir kommen definitiv bald wieder! :)

Super schöne Atmosphäre, besonders der Außenbereich hat mir sehr gefallen. Die Mitarbeiter*innen waren aufmerksam und freundlich. Ich hatte am ersten Abend einen Salat mit Ziegenkäse und am zweiten Abend einen Burger beides war geschmacklich lecker, auch den Wein kann ich wärmsten empfehlen. Sollte ich mal wieder in Schongau sein, schaue ich gerne wieder vorbei.

Kaltes Tegernseer vom Fass, wunderschöner Innenhof. KellnerInnen einmal top und das andere mal wieder nicht ganz so motiviert. Hmm... Aber trotzdem ein Besuch wert.

Schnuckeliges kleines Restaurant in der Mitte von Schongau mit einem schönem Baum (können auch mehrere sein... 😁) im Biergarten. Übersichtliche (positiv gemeint!) Speisekarte, nette Bedienung. Im Sommer angenehm kühl und durch die Verteilung der Bestuhlung nicht so gerammelt voll. Kommen hier immer wieder gerne hin.

Nice and cozy local bar. I went there just for a couple of beers in my way back to Munich. The town itself has a mystique vibe. The bartender was really nice. We wanted some food but kitchen was close when we visited. It was going to be open at 6:00 PM. Looking forward to visit this place in the summer.

Ambiente schön, Essen klingt zunächst sehr interessant, kann letztlich aber leider nicht überzeugen. Insbesondere für die recht ambitionierten Preise. Schade!

Ce très beau restaurant, situé dans un cadre magnifique au milieu du centre historique de Schongau, avec son immense terrasse très pittoresque, regroupe à peu près toutes les qualités: un endroit très convivial, un sercice efficace et chaleureux, le tout avec une cuisine raffinée et pleine de saveurs. Le jeune couple qui tient cet établissement est adorable et très professionnel. Une adresse vraiment incontournable si vous venez à Schongau :)
