Friendly staff and the food was great!

This restaurant I honestly just stumbled on to. What a neighborhood gift, great food and amazing service! My server was so lovely, fast and efficient. Really good tortellini’s with pancetta. The pizzas look amazing and the Montapluciano wine was a great value by the glass. High level of pride here. I would not hesitate to come back!!

Very tasty food, huge pizzas, and super tasty risotto. There's a lovely outdoor area. The staff is very polite and friendly, and not at all pushy. I might come back a few more times, though 😉

The salad was forgotten and wasn't particularly tasty either, as too much vinegar was used. The waiter didn't seem particularly motivated, but that's hardly surprising, given the chaos the guests were causing. The children of a large family turned the outdoor area into a game reserve, making conversation almost impossible. None of the staff intervened, probably for fear of escalating the situation. That's just how it is these days. 😐

Very tasty food and pleasant, friendly service. Ambience: The noise from the many guests might be a bit distracting. It's not exactly quiet for a peaceful dinner. There are lots of guests and groups, and they're naturally not exactly talking quietly.

The outdoor area is very child-friendly. The decor is original. Since the interior has very high ceilings, it might be a bit noisy when the house is full.

I highly recommend this place – the friendly staff is particularly outstanding, but the food and atmosphere are also really good! I'd be happy to go back.

Giant pizzas that tower over the edge of the plate. Not so easy to eat. But easy to share. The salad, on the other hand, comes in a rather small bowl. It could have been bigger for the price.

We were there with six friends, and the staff was friendly, but were apparently unsettled by the shift manager who was running around in a green polo shirt. He was rude to the chef in the middle of the rush hour, and he was constantly rotating our servers. The food was good, but the atmosphere was rather tense. Each of us had three courses, and we felt extremely uncomfortable because of this person. To be clear, we meet once a year from all over Germany in the Ruhr area, and it was simply abysmal. We were also always suspicious of this gentleman. Sorry, never again.

We were on vacation with the family and had a wonderful meal here! The staff was impeccable, and the manager was super helpful and friendly! Highly recommended!

Today we were guests at L'Osteria for a birthday party. This was my first visit to a L'Osteria. Arriving at the free parking lot, the first thing I noticed was the newly installed fast-charging stations from CPO Ionity, which will probably be operational soon. This way, you can combine your restaurant visit with an electric car charging session, so there's food for both drivers and electric cars ;-) I liked the atmosphere in the restaurant. Since our group wasn't nearly complete, we were asked at intervals whether we wanted to order or wait. I found that very thoughtful of the staff. But we waited until our group was complete. While we were ordering, they shared a few jokes; I like that kind of humor; it lightens things up a bit. Another positive thing to note is that you can order a dish and divide it between two people from the start, for example, pizza between two plates, and dessert with two spoons. I also really liked that the kitchen had our orders ready at the same time, so we could start eating together. I enjoyed the food itself up to a certain point. They only use fresh ingredients. But unfortunately, the food has two drawbacks. The first is that the pizzas are too big for the plate, or were the plates too small for the pizzas? Anyway, I don't like it when my food spills onto the tabletop outside of the plate. This paper coaster, which had previously been passed through several hands, doesn't change that. Ultimately, my pizza went into party mode. Party mode? Those are the moments when you wake up after a more or less wild party and the first thing you eat is a slice of cold pizza from the night before. Maybe I should have done more research beforehand and ordered something else? The second drawback for some people who ordered pasta was, let's say, "clear." This means that these plates were devoured very quickly, even though we had expected a bit more pasta. For these reasons, L'Osteria now only gets 4 out of 5 stars. Why did the service only get 4 stars? Well, after the meal, we ordered digestifs and dessert. The waiter delivered our order and, among other things, had a cappuccino that was obviously too much. The waiter stood at an empty seat in the group because this person was in the restroom. The waiter then placed the cappuccino with the words, "Then this person (I don't want to mention the real name) just ordered a cappuccino," and put the cup down. That doesn't really suit my sense of humor; in fact, I find it intrusive. At least a little later, we were informed that we were, of course, invited to this coffee. All in all, it was still an interesting restaurant visit. If we ever come back, I already know what I definitely won't order: pizza. I'll have to try the pasta myself, and there's more on the menu. Maybe then the three 4-star reviews will become a full 5 stars?

Good atmosphere, tasty n yummy food

The ambiance is great, as is the case with virtually every L'Osteria. The playground for the kids is also nice. We saw lots of dogs during our visit, and they all received water. The waitress who took our order made one or two mistakes. Pizza halves were swapped, and the non-alcoholic cocktail we ordered was alcoholic. The pizzas were very tasty, even better than those at other locations.

We went to brunch today with eight people, including two children. A very warm and humorous welcome. The food was excellent, with plenty of something for everyone. Very good value for money. We'll definitely be back. Best regards.

We ate at L'Osteria today and were unfortunately very disappointed. The service was absolutely chaotic – long waits, inattentive staff, and an overall very stressful atmosphere. What was particularly annoying was that my food was supposed to be packed, but instead it was simply thrown away. When we pointed this out, there was no real apology – in the end, they simply forgot about us. It's a shame, because we were actually looking forward to the visit. But as it is, I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

Unfortunately, on our last visit (July 18, 2025, around 4 p.m.), we had a problem with the staff member who refused to assign us a table for four (because of the large pizzas). We could only have a table for two because 200 more guests were coming. Only after persistent insistence did we get a table for four inside, near the door to the outside area. When we left at 5 p.m., the restaurant was still empty. It's a shame, the pizza was delicious and our waiter was quick and friendly. When we asked the table assignor as we left where the 200 people were, he said they were still coming. We honestly felt like we were being "ripped off." As proof, I'm attaching two photos of the inside and outside area, which show the customer situation as we left.

Ciao L'Osteria Team Mülheim….!!! It's a shame you're not working on the service and the shortcomings reported to you in the reviews here. Best example today: Called at 2:03 PM and placed an order for two pasta dishes to pick up. Employee's response: "No problem, it's ready in 10 minutes." Registered at the door at 2:15 PM and paid cashless. Philipp or Philiph's response: "The pasta will take another 3 minutes." Okay….!! No problem either, I just quickly let them know that I'd like to wait outside. After no one answered after 10 minutes, I went to the door. A young lady acknowledged me after 2 minutes (there were a handful of customers in the store, by the way). After a brief exchange between the employee and Philipp or Philiph, they replied: "Something broke and it will take a while." They were unwilling/unable to give me a time limit. I told the young lady (who was really trying) that I was in a bit of a hurry, that my small children were sitting/sleeping in the car, and that they would please hurry up. After another five minutes had passed and nothing had happened, I went back to the door. There was absolutely no reaction from any of the employees about my presence, so I had to call for Philipp or Philiph... after I had to ask again about my pasta dish, the lackluster and prompt reply was: "They should be ready any minute." My patience finally ran out, and I asked for a cancellation, which Philipp or Philiph did. As "compensation," he wanted to give me a flat €30 instead of the original €28.30 (since I had paid cashless), which I found even worse. As I mentioned at the beginning, I hope, L'Osteria Mülheim, that you train your employees better and don't just write standard texts here, that you promise to improve.

I'm not one for writing a lot of reviews, but I have to here. We ordered a BBQ chicken pizza and a half-Hawaiian, half-Vegetarian pizza. First of all, the pizza arrived 45 minutes early, but it would have been better if it hadn't arrived at all. I know that you can't use product images as a 1:1 basis for the dishes, but the fact that there was no match at all is strange. The ingredients were slapped together, no effort was made to separate the ingredients when adding the toppings, for example, they simply left the 5 sliced mushrooms on top of each other, the peppers looked like they were cut into eighths, etc. Simply unappetizing and poorly made. The taste was also disastrous. The Ruhr River is nearby; take your money and throw it in the Ruhr, and you'll be less annoyed than if you ordered food there. Never again!!!!!!!!!

Limited selection of food (rolls, bread, cold cuts, etc.) The buffet is no longer refilled after 12 p.m. Delicious sandwiches with egg, avocado, and ham. For a brunch buffet, I would have preferred a larger selection of hot and cold dishes.

From the humorous welcome to the truly special brunch with Italian specialties, we were extremely satisfied. The restaurant is especially ideal for families with small children. We had a lovely corner where the little one could let off steam without disturbing anyone, and we could enjoy our meal in peace.

The service was okay; the waiter did his best, but if things aren't working out in the kitchen, there's nothing he can do. We ordered and after 45 minutes asked when our starters would be coming, but they still came slowly.

All-around excellent and top-notch staff! Absolutely friendly to people and animals. Employers can consider themselves lucky to have such staff; such staff are truly priceless! Today, two years later, the absolutely top-notch experience has been confirmed once again, and therefore 5 stars ++!!!!

We visited this pizzeria for the first time. The pizza was unappealingly large. They don't offer small pizzas. The toppings were sparse and flavorless. The lasagna was very burnt around the edges. It must have been in the oven too long. We don't plan on returning.

Very, very friendly staff - the friendly service was very accommodating and extremely polite

Unprofessional service – disappointing experience I ordered from L'Osteria today and had to wait a whole two hours for my food - while guests who came after me had long since received their orders. When asked, the waiter brushed responsibility under the carpet, which only reinforced the bad impression. We were treated extremely unprofessionally and it was a very unpleasant experience overall. This is not how you should treat guests. I hope that management urgently improves this.

We had a really nice children’s birthday at L’Osteria in Mülheim Saarn. A very big thank you to our waitress Vicki, who looked after the children so warmly! She was always there for us and even took great photos of the little ones in the kitchen. We think it's completely okay that we parents had to stay outside - after all, it shows how much attention is paid to cleanliness here. We felt very comfortable and would definitely like to come back!

Was eating there for the first time. Compared to other L'Osteria branches, the pizza was carelessly prepared and a bit too thin and the service was subpar. We sat several times with empty drinks for over 15 minutes at anything but full capacity.

Were here for brunch. Very friendly staff, large selection of hot and cold dishes. Only the wooden chairs are very light and tip over quickly, 3 to 4 times during our stay with different people. We would still love to come back.

Unfortunately, this L'Osteria couldn't convince us at all. It was very chaotic in the restaurant itself and the loud music didn't create a good atmosphere, so we decided to choose a place outside. The friendly waitress took our drinks order and it came quickly. The manager came over and looked at us and asked: “Who put you here?” and then said he needed the table, even though the restaurant still had many more seats available. We then complied with the request and then, without understanding, looked for another place. There was no reservation there, nor had the next customer asked for one, who later apologized to us. The manager's way of communicating was a total disaster. If we hadn't been so hungry I would have left the restaurant at this point. Unfortunately the pizza arrived at the table a bit cold and the salad for dessert was otherwise as usual Losteria. At the end, when we wanted to pay, I had to let the manager point out to me in a completely arrogant manner that he had stuck the QR codes for payment on the corner of the table; the fact that we wanted to pay in cash might not have occurred to him. I am self-employed myself and such behavior towards a guest/customer is really a mystery to me. Rarely have I experienced such an unsympathetic manager.

I ordered for an event with 20 people and picked up the pizzas myself. The pizzas taste just great!! Unfortunately, they get cold quickly, so if you have a large quantity, you should order the pizzas already cut. The service was great, my contact person at pickup helped me and carried the pizzas to the car. However, you could still think about a delivery service.

Totally overrated location for me: Yesterday at 4 p.m. I'm standing at the waiting sign in the empty restaurant and I'm ignored by the staff. Then order a carbonated mineral water and get a still water at the table. The cutlery was put on with the drink. After 5 minutes another waiter brought cutlery again! It is generally known that the pizzas go far beyond the edge of the plate. In the past, people were always given a paper surface before serving so that the pizza didn't end up on the table. Yesterday my pizza was served and it lay with the edge on the bare table. To pay, I wanted to pay with my remaining credit on the voucher. Unfortunately, the voucher cards have no longer been redeemable since August 2023 because the provider has apparently changed. The restaurant is unable to make a payment. The responsibility is passed on to the customer. I should take care of the payment using a QR code. I registered there once, but it doesn't seem to be very serious. Personal data will be requested from me before payment is made. I'll hand the whole thing over to the consumer advice center. Another reason not to visit L' Osteria anymore...

We ate at Losteria today and were served by a super friendly and attentive waiter, David. The food arrived really quickly, and everything tasted absolutely delicious. Our personal requests were taken into account, and friendliness was a top priority. Losteria has a really nice interior and atmosphere. I can highly recommend it to everyone!

Got 2 pizzas to take away today for 28 euros Pizza Champigon topped with black, indefinably tiny slices. Pizza Hawai with a few pineapples and ham. Both pizzas were very bland and dry. Never again L'osteria

Unfortunately things have gotten worse at the moment, one person doesn't know what the other is doing when it comes to the invoice and the order. The children's Bolognese was served with Parmesan without asking (child actually loves Bolognese but absolutely doesn't like Parmesan. Pizza wasn't baked properly, bread came with the salad when the salad had already been eaten. It's a shame we always enjoyed coming but now we're taking a big break.

Celebrated the children's birthday here today, everything is great, highly recommended, the kids like it and it is looked after very well.

Foods are always great, friendly staff

The ambience of this L'Osteria is one of the most beautiful that I know. We actually felt at home straight away, as the welcome was very warm. Unfortunately, the rest couldn't keep up. Our service was friendly and quick at the table and took our drinks. I took a second card myself from the next table. Some time later she ate the food. Unfortunately, she couldn't give me an alternative salad dressing recommendation but simply listed what was available. And then nothing happened at first. Okay, she was apparently responsible for all the occupied tables (it wasn't really full), but waiting 40 minutes for a pizza and a salad is quite a number. I know the food itself differently from other stores. The pizza was rather sparsely topped for the price and had a large puddle of grease. The rocket dressing was more like a pesto and unfortunately tasted very bitter. The salad was fresh and crunchy and really good. The meat was also well fried. That's why it was doubly sad. In fact, I was grateful for the dry edge of my companion's pizza, as there is no other bread accompaniment to the salad

Inside there is a very nice Italian atmosphere. The music is good and the staff is very friendly. We were served by lovely Gamze. She was very helpful, kind and fulfilled all of our wishes. The food is very tasty, especially the brunch buffet on Sunday.
