I don't usually write negative reviews, but this experience was so incredibly disrespectful that I created an account specifically to warn others. As soon as we walked in, we were treated so rudely and condescendingly that we almost lost our appetite. The man at the door, who only spoke broken German, informed us in the most unfriendly way before we even sat down that we only had an hour and a half and would have to leave after that. No hello, no greeting, just pressure and a completely inappropriate, rude approach. Then we had to wait 50 minutes for our food. The pizza and salad were long gone by the time the pasta even arrived. And then the lasagna was frozen inside. Frozen! In a restaurant. While we were still eating, this incredibly unfriendly man came back to our table to remind us that we had to leave soon. We still had our plates in front of us. How can you treat guests like that? Such disrespect is hard to beat! The only person who made any effort was the waitress. She repeatedly offered to replace the lasagna or reheat it. We accepted the offer, but even the second time, the lasagna was still frozen inside. And as if all that wasn't bad enough, the same unfriendly man finally told us we had to leave. It was simply brazen and disgraceful. This kind of behavior is completely out of place in the restaurant industry. I'm furiously disappointed and stunned. This person should have absolutely nothing to do with guests!! We'll definitely never be back!

I’ve been a loyal customer of this Italian restaurant chain for the past 8 years, and it never disappoints. The pizzas are absolutely huge and incredibly delicious – truly some of the best in Mannheim. The staff is always super friendly and welcoming, which makes every visit a pleasure. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes and quality. During peak hours, the wait time can be a bit long, so I highly recommend making a reservation in advance. The seating is comfortable both inside and outside, and the location couldn’t be better – right at the iconic Wasserturm in Mannheim. Another plus: there’s a parking garage just a few steps away, making it easy to get there even on busy days. Highly recommended for anyone who loves quick Italian food in a great atmosphere.

Was in Mannheim with my girlfriend...had a reservation for Saturday evening. Even though the restaurant was fully booked, our service was always very friendly and attentive. The food came very quickly and was very tasty. Only the atmosphere inside was very restless and loud. It wouldn't be my first choice for a romantic dinner. Otherwise, always happy in Mannheim.

The staff is very nice and accommodating, but is clearly stressed. 25 minutes to the first drink. The food is okay, but the tomatoes don't work at all even out of season. Erdinger Urweisse on tap is particularly praiseworthy. The room acoustics are bad. Smooth walls, lots of window panes and no acoustic ceiling. Simply unsuitable and exhausting for business meetings or simple entertainment.

Service was nice and friendly, food was okay, but didn't blow our minds. Spaghetti Aglio e Olio is advertised on the menu with cherry tomatoes and parsley, but spaghetti with dark garlic and lots of oil has arrived. When we asked the waitress, we were told that this was no longer offered. When we pointed out that it was declared that way on the restaurant menu, she apologized and offered us a dessert/drink as an apology. Unfortunately, one of the children's meals was lukewarm. Drinks were brought quickly, but they were already drunk before the food arrived. That means the waiting time until the food came was too long. The volume was also not pleasant. So if you have to go out to eat with someone and don't feel like chatting, you're in good hands here. All in all okay, but doesn't live up to the hype. We probably won't come back.

Everything's good, except they bake very large pizzas but don't have enough ingredients in them... I always order pasta and it's really delicious! I drink the orange drink they have, also super tasty. And the waiters very friendly.

Was great. We made a reservation for 12 people at 2:30 p.m., had to wait 10 minutes, then we (11 people in total) had the table. Then it took another 15 minutes until we could order. After ordering, everything went smoothly and quickly. It tasted great. Paying (individually) was also quick, so we left the restaurant around 4 p.m. and got our train to Giessen at 4:35 p.m. without any problems. The only criticism: there is a very high noise level in this restaurant, which is a bit tiring. Otherwise everything is wonderful. Italian lesson included in the women's toilet.

L'Osteria is not the cheapest restaurant, people like to come to L'Osteria but not a single customer comes to the restaurant to be bullied!! Service interval 0-10 definitely -10!!! Nice restaurant at the head of the water tower. Huge pizzas and nice service. Unfortunately the restaurant was completely full, so it was very loud. But better a full restaurant than an empty one. We each had an appetizer and then a huge pizza. If you don't have a big appetite, you might want to skip the starter, as the pizzas are really, really big. You can have the leftovers packed up.

The whole trip to this highly acclaimed restaurant was a complete nuisance. The tables are very close together and hardly a person could fit between them. At lunchtime it was so crowded and so loud that conversation was impossible. The menu no longer bore any resemblance to the menu on the internet. The offer was very reduced and the prices were at least 30% higher. My husband ordered spaghetti carbonara. However, there was no sign of the cream sauce that had to be present. He tossed and turned the pasta, thinking the sauce was buried underneath. But that wasn't the case. Our question to the waitress as to whether the sauce would be delivered separately was answered in the negative. She explained that we should have complained about this immediately. My husband then ate this dry pulp because he was very hungry. The bill was - of course - for the full amount. Conclusion: once and not again! With not very kind regards Christa Scharting

I've been ordering the Rucola pizza from L'Osteria for a long time and have always been satisfied. But what I was served yesterday was simply impossible. The pizza arrived cold, the crust was so thin that it was practically non-existent - sure, L'Osteria is known for thin pizzas, but this was just a bad joke. In the pictures you can see that the base basically doesn't exist - it's more of a crispy, partly burnt layer of cheese with some tomato sauce and rocket on top. It was also very dry and the taste was not at the usual level. When I asked the waitress about it, all I was told was that this was the standard. However, given my previous visits, I can't understand this and I think anyone who has ever eaten pizza here can tell from the pictures that this isn't the norm here either. Even with high capacity on Friday evening, such a deviation in quality should not happen. I would have expected a professional reaction or accommodation at this point. Honestly, it was a complete disappointment, especially because I've had good experiences so far. If this really is the new standard then this was definitely the last time I ate here! It's a shame because I really enjoyed coming here.

Im Januar haben ein paar Kumpels es endlich geschafft das L'Osteria zu besuchen. Zum Glück hatten wir reserviert, denn das Lokal war brechend voll, ein gutes Zeichen. Interessant, man kann sich die Pizza 🍕 halbe-halbe selbst zusammenstellen. Erfreulich registrierten wir die außergewöhnlich große und dünne Pizza. Geschmacklich ok, am Anfang ziemlich heiß, aber die Pizza kühlt leider recht schnell ab. Das Lokal gefällt für einen lockeren Abend mit Kumpels, nicht aber für einen romantischen, gehoben Abend. Aber das ist in Ordnung, wenn man das weiß. Der Service ist aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Die Preise sind etwas hoch aber das ist mittlerweile fast überall so.

Today I didn't eat any of the gigantic (size and taste) pizzas but chose a pasta dish from the lunch menu. Since the first portions were unfortunately almost cold, they were exchanged for new, hot ones without any problem. (We would have been happy with warming up too.) But like that… just perfect. A hit in terms of taste, I will try out alternatives more often in the future. The staff is always attentive and friendly, even when the hut is full. I love this store!

So I was told it was a very good restaurant. Unfortunately I have to say that I was very disappointed and ordered a salami pizza with extra onions. If anything, there wasn't even a slice of onion on the pizza that was dry and tasteless. It just tasted like dough. Cherry tomatoes with mozarela buratta was a great failure, tomatoes and burrata without anything, so it's better to prepare it at the supermarket and at home. The macaronies with grilled vegetables, the vegetables are raw, no Italian hard cheese. It just tasted like cheap tomato sauce. The only good thing was it was warm. So a good tip. Find a chef who cooks with love and perhaps has a bit of an idea. Teramisue ok. It's not worth paying 47 euros for that. Super sad. I definitely wouldn't eat there again.
