L'Osteria Kamen in Kamen

A nice restaurant in itself, but unfortunately the acoustics were far too loud. We had reserved a table for Sunday afternoon, but unfortunately, the chairs weren't clean yet (they still had crumbs from the last pizzas on them). The reserved table was supposed to be ready. There were six of us there, and we had to wait an hour for our food: three pizzas, one lasagna, and one spaghetti. The pizzas unfortunately arrived lukewarm. My guess is that they were ready and were left standing until the pasta was ready, before everything was served. I think this could definitely be improved.

Beautiful place, delicious Italian pizza, and more. I'd gladly go back.

Very friendly staff. We were there for brunch. The buffet included the classic breakfast (bread, rolls, and cereal) and hot dishes like grilled vegetables, pizza, stuffed pizza rolls, and sweet dishes like pancakes. Drinks, except for sparkling wine, are not included in the price. It wasn't too crowded, so the atmosphere was pleasant.

I waited 30 minutes under these conditions before I could even get anything. After about an hour and asking twice, I finally got three salads, and two tables with guests who arrived later had already gotten and eaten pizza and pasta. Not again at L'Osteria Kamen.

The food was good, the espresso tasted great, and Sarah's service was fantastic. Thank you!

Unfriendly, snippy service, dirty tables wiped with a dry napkin, food arrived after an hour, and when I asked if we'd been forgotten, the answer was no. Pasta and pizza together always take so long! Pizza kept warm, arugula soggy, Parmesan cheese melted. What a shame!

If you know one L'Osteria, you know them all. And that's why I visit the restaurant chain again and again. Whether in Hanover, Garbsen, Bielefeld, or Kamen. The service is friendly everywhere, and while the dishes vary slightly in preparation within the chain, they are always delicious.

The pizza was outstanding, and the lasagna came on a children's plate. I had reserved a table online in advance for 8 people. There's a comment field in the online reservation, as well as a field where you can indicate whether you want drinks on the table upon arrival. Unfortunately, none of these requests were implemented. We couldn't sit near the play area (we were there with four children, and excuse me for saying this, but everyone who sat in that area was there without children). Likewise, none of the high chairs were at the table, let alone any of the drinks that you could order in advance. Unfortunately, this comment function is completely useless.

We arrived (postscript: on a Sunday) around 12:15 p.m., so at lunchtime. No lunch, still breakfast. We hesitated for a moment, but the view of the buffet was quite off-putting. That was no good.

We had two delicious pizzas and two desserts for Sunday lunch. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. Our visit was rounded out by the excellent service from Sarah.

Unfortunately, we can't rate the food because two hours after placing our order, we still hadn't had any food. It was supposed to be a lovely evening with our children, who were really looking forward to it, but now they're driving home very disappointed. It's a shame, because it wasn't the first time...

I was there today and waited half an hour for my pizza. When it finally arrived, I had finished eating it and had the rest of half a pizza packed up, but I only got a cut-up quarter of the whole pizza. Other than the fact that it tasted good, I can't recommend eating there.

The food was good as always, but the service was especially impressive. Sarah was courteous and seemed genuinely interested in our needs. :) We've never been served so well. We'll be back.

The most delicious vegan cheese we've ever had! We actually had to ask if it was really vegan cheese. We've tried a lot, but this really surprised us. The staff is also super friendly; we'd love to come back.

Never experienced such long waits!!! The staff were friendly and the kids' play areas were quite nice. But we were there for over two hours in total and even took the pizza to go because our daughter was so tired. We waited an hour and a half for the food, which arrived every 15 minutes. Paying then took another half hour, while we waited with a crying child and cold pizza to finally leave. This wait was truly a complete disaster, something I'm not used to from the Losteria in Berlin, where we usually go.

For our starter, we opted for a vitello tonnato, which we found rather mediocre. While the arugula and tomatoes looked good, I personally didn't think they had any place in this dish. The accompanying (house-made) L'Osteria bread deserves special mention, as it was of excellent quality and tasted delicious. The L'Osteria-style Pizza Romana impresses every time and is my personal recommendation (regardless of the topping). Anyone who dines here should opt for a pizza. The price, quality, and taste are simply perfect. Since the dessert on the monthly specials was unfortunately sold out, I opted for the spaghetti ice cream. This should definitely be removed from the menu or drastically revised, as it significantly diminished my overall impression of the meal. I don't expect homemade ice cream from a chain restaurant, but the products used and the presentation disappointed me both visually and taste-wise. On the plus side, the good espresso deserves a mention. Overall, I give the food 3 stars, with the pizza taking the cake and the dessert taking the cake. The young lady who served us was very friendly, courteous, and authentic. Therefore, I give the service 5 stars. The interior and the building of L'Osteria in Kamen are very nice. We just didn't like the acoustics. 4 stars. Overall, we had a lovely evening at L'Osteria in Kamen. I'd happily return for a delicious pizza and a glass of wine, which is why I give this restaurant a qualified recommendation.

Unfortunately, my mother's food was brought cold one time and only lukewarm the second time. It also took a long time before we could place our order. The food that arrived was good, but the good mood was obviously ruined. After two almost cold meals, that's understandable. The manager (I think) or shift supervisor was very nice and tried to salvage things a bit. It took even longer before we could pay. Unfortunately, I'm used to it being different and better at other restaurants in the chain.

I was there today and I'm absolutely thrilled. I had a bit of trouble with the menu, but the waiter, Leon, took the time to talk to me and recommended a lot. Kudos to the staff and the service. The food was delicious. You've gained a regular customer.

Very friendly service, who immediately attended to our needs. The food was good; the crab was perhaps a little hard, but it came with a very tasty lobster sauce.

No, the food was cold, and the drink didn't arrive until after the meal. The waiter didn't give a reason or even apologize. That's the least I expect as a guest.

In my opinion, Losteria is a guarantee for perfect and super delicious pizza. It's always so huge that you have another delicious meal at home the next day. My daughter had a margarita and I had a delicious Caesar salad. The staff is always very friendly. We eat at Losteria Kamen about once a month and have always encountered only very friendly staff. Yesterday, Sarah looked after us and was super friendly, providing us with perfect service. I definitely recommend it!

I've been there several times. It's the same every time. You wait about 45 minutes for drinks and almost two hours for food. This was the last time...

We went here for pizza with several people on a Saturday. Some of us were new to L'Osteria. The service was excellent, as always, and our server was incredibly friendly. Staff dinner at L'Osteria in Kamen (4 people) on Monday, August 11, 2025, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:10 p.m.: I would give the service -10 stars. We've never been served so unfriendly, unmotivated, and disrespectful by staff. We waited 60 minutes for the food. The pasta with "Gorgonzola sauce" tasted of cream and not cheese, and was dry and inedible. A truly sad story. The three pizzas were okay, but they arrived cold at the table. Unfortunately, the pizza rolls we ordered later (because the pasta was really bad) didn't arrive until 45 minutes later, when everyone was already ready to leave.... All in all, the overall package was so bad that we won't eat there again.

Anyone who likes pizza or pasta is practically obligated to eat here. Great value for money and very pleasant staff.

⭐⭐⭐☆☆ The food was generally good, but the salad initially had several mushy leaves – although they were replaced immediately after a complaint, this shouldn't have happened in the first place. Suggestion for improvement: Serve the salad in a different bowl or at least with a saucer. Currently, the waiters have to hold the bowl by the edge, which (as happened to me) can easily lead to a finger getting into the food – unhygienic and avoidable. The service was friendly and responded quickly, but there's still room for improvement.

We ate there for our anniversary. The selection was gigantic! The pizza was enormous! Everything tasted really good! And one of the employees, Mr. A., was fantastic! Really great service and delicious food. We'd gladly go back.

We had an interesting experience today. After sitting at our table for 10 minutes, the waitress came over and asked for drinks. When we asked if they had the lunch special advertised online, we were given the menu. Interestingly, the prices for the pasta dishes were €1 higher than those online. After another 20 minutes, no one seemed interested in us (it wasn't particularly busy), we left without ordering anything. Disappointing.

We visited the l'Osteria as a group of friends and were served by Sarah. She was very accommodating and friendly. We were completely satisfied with our stay and would gladly return.

We were there with our child on August 6th. Despite our bad experience, we wanted to try it again. But the restaurant doesn't deserve the title of having by far the worst service in the world for nothing. After being seated, we finally ordered our drinks after 25 minutes, and they arrived after only 50. Since we were sitting next to the bar, we saw that they had been sitting on the tray for 10 minutes. But the waitress had to clear other tables, take payments, and talk to colleagues. I wanted to complain, but other tables got there first. The food was good, the pizza a bit burnt, but it's not a premium restaurant. If you're going to L'Osteria, go somewhere else. 4.1 reviews say it all.

We're generally L'Osteria fans and have been to Kamen quite often. Unfortunately, it's never been this bad. The food was cold, the pasta was sticky, the water we ordered wasn't brought, and yet we'll be back. The problem was personnel-related, and the efficient waiter, who apologized several times, was completely overwhelmed by the sheer volume of customers. A growing problem, not just here, but unfortunately here today as well. Hopefully, it'll be better next time 😉

It was our first time there. The atmosphere was very nice, but, as everywhere, it was very loud. We were greeted warmly without a reservation and shown to our table. It tasted good, but the pizza was much too big and difficult to eat as it overhangs the plate. I've seen that so many guests don't eat, and their hearts bleed when so much ends up in the trash. I also have to mention our server, "Sarah," who was very attentive and friendly. We'll be back.

Unfortunately, it's not worth a star. We've never waited this long for a pizza, let alone a meal in a restaurant (1 hour 20 minutes). Twice after we asked, we were put off. Ultimately, we left without eating a pizza, but we still had to pay for the Coke. We definitely won't be coming back.

Unfortunately, the main course was cold and had to be taken to the kitchen to be heated up. Another half-hour wait... Last but not least, the card reader didn't work, which cost us another 15 minutes. Everyone deserves a second chance; hopefully, things will go better next time!

Far too crowded and far too loud, waiting time for a pizza was an hour! Just for pizza, and for a place that specializes in pizza, that's completely unacceptable. Frozen pizzas from the supermarket taste better. Plus, there aren't enough parking spaces and the place is way too cramped. Not recommended!

A typical new building in the L'Osteria style. Attractive modern architecture with classic elements. Beautiful wallpaper and stone tiles in the restrooms. Unfortunately, it was extremely loud on weekends, not conducive to conversation. Many people sat silently at their tables, overwhelmed by the music. The food was of the usual high quality. Service varied.

We were there on Friday and waited a very long time for our order (90 minutes). The waitress wasn't particularly interested in her job and entered the order incorrectly several times, so we ended up with one appetizer and one salad too many. We weren't even asked for drinks. At one point, we wanted to order additional drinks, but the waitress either disappeared or didn't even look after us. When we wanted to pay, we had to ask three people for the bill, as they kept saying they'd let us know, until we eventually went to the bar ourselves. That also took a total of 30 minutes. In the end, the receipt also had to be corrected, as the incorrect appetizer and salad were still on the bill, even though we said we didn't order them and sent them back to the kitchen. We also had to ask for everything, like oil or Parmesan cheese, which should always be included with your order when you order pasta. The food was still delicious.

Since we were charging our car at the nearby parking lot, we had lunch here. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxed. We ordered four dishes, three of which were good, as is typical of L'Osteria. Unfortunately, the penne all'arribbiata was very spicy, and the sauce was watery and lacked any real flavor. This shouldn't really be served to guests. I don't know if the sauces are already made or freshly cooked on-site. However, they should work on the quality here. We reported this to our server. She complained to the kitchen and told us that they were using new, fresh pasta and that it didn't absorb the water from the sauce as well. They were working on it. My question as a guest: why do we have to be the taste testers? Otherwise, everything was fine.

Always happy to come back. The price/performance ratio is right.

Anyone familiar with the L'osteria chain knows what to expect. Huge pizzas with delicious thin crust! The staff at this location is super friendly. Keep it up!
