L'Osteria Göttingen in Göttingen

Pizza always tastes really good. Service depends on the staff. We once received the wrong pizza and were somehow not treated as expected. They first wanted to convince us to keep the pizza. In the end it was solved well and luckily nothing was thrown away and we got what we actually wanted.

I don't think it's reasonable to wait around 30+ minutes after ordering and paying when the store isn't even half full. The pizza was ok but way too thin. If it were a little smaller it would have fit on the plate. The fact that 6 people are seated at a 4-person table is also questionable, especially since larger tables were free. The knives are not suitable for cutting at all, only for tearing. When paying, I found it very rude that the waiter left the table after each person (we paid separately), so the process took even longer than normal. We all paid by card, so it actually only took a few seconds per person.

I had to wait over an hour to get a very sparsely topped pizza. When I looked at other people's food, I noticed that the ingredients generally tended to come from a can. In addition, the lunch menu only includes carbonated drinks, which is stupid because I can't tolerate them, so I had a lunch menu without a lunch menu.

Ambience and food are great. We also found space for 20 people (after reservation). When it comes to service, I would like people to ask you more often if you would like something more to drink.

First of all the food is delicious. Unfortunately, the seating is too tight, so the feeling is that the waiter at the next table ends up eating. Favored by the tables for two that are too small and can accommodate 3-4 people. In addition, round “cat tables” were placed in free space. Everything is just too tight. Due to maximizing the number of seats and the take-out service, wait times of 40 minutes for a pizza or pasta must be expected. The noise level is also a bit too loud. It's a shame, more service and the customer in the foreground would be nicer than just profit optimization. 😅 I'm looking forward to the text modules of the answer. Big pizzas, good taste. The price is absolutely right because the pizzas are bigger. Very tasty combinations. Drinks and other dishes are priced in line with L'Osteria. Some are a little more expensive than the Italian restaurant around the corner. The atmosphere is modern, with Italian chic. Unfortunately the staff is not original because it is a chain. But be on your toes and know what it's doing. Delivery is sometimes offered, and meals are also available to take away. Points were deducted for various reasons: Because the pizzas are so oily, I messed up my jacket when picking up the pizzas - that's super annoying. We had heartburn all night and couldn't sleep well because the pizzas were so heavy on our stomachs. (fatty cheese, plus oil, plus yeast dough that didn't rise long enough) This doesn't happen with Italians for the sake of trust. ;-)

We had dinner at the location mentioned above. Because the patio doors were open and it was our first time dining there, we unknowingly entered through this entry & exit area. After no one paid us any attention, we turned to a waitress. She replied to us very rudely and pointed out the sign on the counter which said; that you have to wait there. However, if you walk through another entrance and don't know this location, you won't be able to get past the counter. The rudeness of the staff extended from the allocation of the table to the payment. After a colleague wanted to take away the food she hadn't made, the eyes were rolled, this request was questioned and the head was shaken. It seems to me that the staff is completely overwhelmed with empathy and service. At 9:04 p.m. we weren't allowed to order anything anymore because the kitchen was closed. All in all, this was by far the worst service I have experienced in all of Germany recently. I know service differently, but it probably depends on the generation!

The food (pizza) is really great. A bit of a challenge due to the size of the pizzas 😉. Cappuccino was great. The ambience is also right, the open kitchen, simply well done. We had a bit of bad luck with the service. He was very inattentive that Sunday afternoon. We would have to draw attention to ourselves several times. Only when support came did things get better.

Pizza Italian, thin base, fine toppings, well baked and huge!! Very attentive and friendly staff. Cozy atmosphere and designed down to the last detail. Everything fits there. We'd love to come back.

I struggled hard to give only these two stars. However, unfortunately I can only go by my food and unfortunately it was very weak. I ordered spaghetti with tomato sauce and basil, where the basil was missing and I also felt that the tomato sauce was a ready-made sauce. I don't know if that was it, but they definitely could have made a lot more effort. The pizza from my neighbor's table was very tasty, so I added another star and the service was also great. As I said, I don't like getting hung up on the spaghetti, but unfortunately it's a real disappointment 🙈 🧡 The location is positive. I really liked it. Really perfect, especially for an after-work drink 🧡 The service was also good and the employees were very friendly. Please rework your spaghetti again. I would definitely be convinced again. ☺️

Tldr: Service catastrophic, crisis management non-existent It was my wife's birthday and we ordered pizza online. Pick up with 3 hungry children in the car. 32 degrees outside. We were there at the time of pickup. "The pizza hasn't been made yet, please take a seat." No explanation as to why nothing has happened yet, even though I was told this pickup date. The shop is almost empty. Several employees keep walking past me. 20 minutes later I ask again. People ask in the kitchen, but no one gets back to me. No info, no apology, nothing. When asked again: unfortunately you have to be patient, your pizza is now being made. I'm stunned. I am offered a drink. I decline and explain my situation. 10 minutes later the pizza is ready. This will be handed over to me without further comment. I'm annoyed. The shift manager tells me that the staff is new and he can't do anything about it. No attempt at reparation, nothing. I fully understand that it can be stressful and that things can go wrong. But this was ignorance on the part of everyone involved and a shocking amount of routine in dismissing dissatisfied customers. Instead of birthday joy, my wife had screaming children in the car for 30 minutes. We won't get this time back.

Very nice and good restaurant. The pizzas are bigger than the plate and they taste good too. Price-performance is absolutely top. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is also cozy. I really enjoy eating there. 👌

The atmosphere is nice. We were happy with our pizzas but my friend did not like the pasta. It is good that they have vegetarian and vegan options. The portions are big. The place was busy and we waited considerably long for our meals. We got the vibe that they expect you to leave the minute you finish your meal. The food is a bit pricey for sure. I can understand they are busy, but one of the waiters was super rude when he said something in German and we didn’t respond very quickly as it was loud outside and we aren’t native speakers. This was the first time we experienced something like this in Göttingen.

We had a delicious pasta dish, my wife was very satisfied. I had a bruschetta. 4 slices. This can be done better. There was a lack of oil and spices. Diced tomato without anything. Just a little arugula doesn't make it any better. A pity.

Unfortunately it is located on an alley with through traffic. So relatively uncomfortable.

The food has always been very tasty and the service has been extremely friendly. In summer it is very drafty inside due to several openings and the location is not very idyllic. But the service and food are so good that I'm happy to accept the small disadvantages.

My first visit to L’Osteria will definitely not be my last! The reservation, the ordering process and the waiting time were absolutely acceptable. Before the restaurant filled up with many other guests, we ordered a pizza. Since I couldn't decide between the vegetarian pizza with grilled vegetables and the four cheese pizza, I was suggested to split the pizza in half - a saving grace for the evening! The taste and quality of the pizza were excellent. I liked it so much that I ate it all. The next day the sun shone, which rounded off the wonderful evening perfectly. I will happily visit L’Osteria in other cities in Germany whenever I feel like having a fantastic pizza!

We were very satisfied. The pizza was super tasty. The service was attentive and very friendly. The young lady kindly informed us that we would be assigned to a table. We didn't know that, we just sat down. We'll know next time! P.s. the soap in the toilets is great! Gladly again!

Es lohnt sich, besonders am Abend, zu reservieren. Denn das L'Osteria ist meist gut gefüllt. Man muss schon recht früh, so wie ich heute, kommen um freie Platzwahl zu haben. Man kann drinnen und draußen, auf dem Marktplatz sowie in der kleinen Gasse im Schatten durch Sonnenschirme sitzen. Drinnen kann man zusehen wie die dünnen Pizzen gemacht werden und zuschauen wie die Getränke an der Bar eingegossen werden. Die Atmosphäre ist angenehm und wird durch italienische Musik untermalt. Wenn es voll ist, kann es im Innenraum durchaus laut werden. Der Sevice war freundlich und aufmerksam, wobei (je nachdem wie voll es ist) man sich schon bemerkbar machen muss. Das Essen war wie bei jedem Besuch lecker! Mit der Pizza zum Teilen kann man auch eine Hälfte bekommen - die Pizza ist recht groß und kamm auch mitgenommen werden. Ich wählte Pasta und diese war einfach lecker! Die Kartenzahlung hat problemlos funktioniert. Das WC im Untergeschoss ist sauber - auch hier läuft Musik.

An hour waiting time, simply catastrophic.

The food tasted good, but the service wasn't, they tried to cheat here. We ordered a risotto and a pizza with grilled vegetables. Shortly afterwards we were told that the risotto was out and that we should choose something new, which wasn't a bad thing at first. So we had noodles instead. But when we paid we were only told the total amount; a receipt was only given upon request after payment had been made. And then we realized that the more expensive risotto was on the bill instead of the pasta. We then had to argue to get the money back, which was overpaid. Be sure to check the invoice! The pizza was not charged for the Margherita with extra grilled vegetables, but for the Pizza Vegetaria or similar, which was also a little more expensive. Good service is something else!

For the 3rd time in a row they didn't have several ingredients in this L'Osteria. No artichokes there, the Margherita pizza was not with mozzarella as described on the menu but with some kind of salty grated cheese. There wasn't basil either, at least I got arugula instead (but it was the same the last time I was there). The service was so mediocre, not particularly attentive. If it had happened once that they didn't have any pizza toppings that would have been okay, but that's the third time (last time they asked if I wanted something else instead, they didn't have broccoli instead of spinach either). In addition, the prices were very confusing (some of the old cards were mixed in with the new ones and there were even cheaper prices on the window). It's a real shame, your food used to be nice. Get a grip, L’Osteria!

Unfortunately, the prices have gone up significantly... On my last 4 visits, there were always some ingredients that were no longer there and then you had to somehow improvise but still pay the full price. Somehow I don't think it's so cool when you pay over €15 for a pizza that isn't even topped with real mozzarella but some kind of sprinkled cheese. Were there for the last time today. There are much better Italians in Göttingen (which are also cheaper). It's a shame, I used to really enjoy being here. The taste is still good, but somehow the price-performance ratio is no longer right, even if you look at the competition in Göttingen.

We ordered two pizzas via the L'Osteria homepage. Delivery time approx. 70 minutes. The driver was very friendly. Unfortunately both pizzas were completely cold. In addition, some of them were only very sparsely occupied. The prices should be different! They still tasted good.

With 5 adults and 1 stroller, we were turned away when there were more than 3 empty tables in the outdoor area and told that no chairs were ever allowed to be moved or tables were ever moved. Absolutely incomprehensible!

We could eat here without a reservation. Food is decently priced. We had the pizza picante and a pasta with ham and cheese. Pizza was decent but very piccante. Pasta was pretty good to be honest. Service was good.

Unfortunately not recommended for 2 people. The tables and chairs for 2 people are placed so close together and the chairs are absolutely uncomfortable. You feel like a second-class guest and if you ask politely for another table you get the answer that the waiter has to keep it free for more people and although there were enough other tables free throughout our stay, we were denied it. What kind of policy is this? It's not comfortable or anything and it's just disgusting because it's designed to squeeze maximum money out of the available space while offering nothing. So clearly not a recommendation unless you want to spend an uncomfortable evening for two. Bad store!!!!

The pizza was delicious and the staff was very polite! Even if the size of the pizza was known, the look was very unappetizing because the pizza hung about 5 cm above the plate. We visited L'Osteria on a Sunday afternoon while passing through. The restaurant wasn't too crowded at that time, which was pleasant. I really enjoyed my stay: the service was very nice, the pizzas, as you would expect from L'Osteria, were very large and very tasty! I think it's really nice that you can top the half-half pizzas differently. Since we then swapped the pizzas together, we had a great variety of tastes. We found the crab topping, the BBQ topping and the fennel salami from the daily menu very tasty. We wouldn't choose the vegan chicken topping again. But that's a matter of taste. I think the language course that runs in the background of the sanitary facilities is a funny idea. 😁👍 Now we can continue our journey home full and happy 😊

Always enjoyed eating there. After waiting 20 minutes for someone to take our order while other tables were already being served, we got up. A “we assume you want to serve us” was only followed by a “thank you”. impudence.

We went there twice today. On our first visit we ate pizza with 4 people. Service is great, very attentive but not intrusive, very friendly and very quick. The pizzas are to die for, we've eaten many pizzas but this pizza can't be beat. The atmosphere is cozy, which we like; you can watch the pizza being shaped and baked. What we noticed is that the team is always in a good mood. Today we ordered the lasagna and the carbonara, and here again the food was just great. Portions are sufficient. We also had dessert on our first visit, which was also delicious and nicely presented. Price performance is top here, there's nothing to complain about. There is one small thing, but it's just a personal feeling - we found the music to be too loud on both visits. A very clear recommendation from us and will now be our regular Italian.

The huge pizza is really good and tasty. It is a challenge for one person. Unfortunately, pasta dishes are relatively sparse in quantity and don't really impress me in terms of taste. The service is sometimes very good, but here too there is no consistency. The sound insulation has since been improved, but it is still quite loud inside.

I had dinner there with a friend on Friday, February 16, 2024. We were treated and served very friendly. Even when we called before, the employee was very helpful and customer-oriented. In the evening we were greeted and served in a thoughtful and friendly manner. Despite the many guests and the associated stress, the service employee Sadun remained friendly and considerate. (For anyone stressing about the naming, he gave his consent for it.) Of course the food was also very tasty. We were greeted as we entered the restaurant and looked at expectantly. It took me a moment to understand that he wanted our name because of a reservation. We told him we didn't have a reservation. The reaction was that he had a table but he literally said “then you have to be out of here by 5:30 p.m. Can you do it?” (It could have been worded differently).. I took it with humor and replied “It depends on how quickly you cook and serve” (we had an hour. Quite enough). The waiter replied in all seriousness, annoyed: “It depends on what you order. A pizza is ok. It will take too long for pasta” I was shocked at his inappropriate and unpleasant demeanor! - the sound plays the music.. My partner still wanted to sit down. After all, we had already paid parking fees and were happy. When we wanted to sit down, the waiter looked at us again in a derogatory and annoyed manner. That was it then. We went. Anyone who doesn't honor the customer is not worth the euro.

The last shop. We wanted to go out to eat comfortably and spontaneously. The guy at reception wasn't interested from the start and said "if you get out before 5:30 you can sit down, if you order pizza for example you can do it, but pasta takes a long time" no thanks brother. I had dinner there yesterday to see what it was like... But I have to say, you'll go bankrupt... Charging €4.95 for a Coke is amazing. I ordered Pizza Hawai with extra cooked ham for a €3 surcharge because there wasn't enough on it. Pizza size nice but not enough toppings so you have to pay extra. And unfortunately there isn't enough BBQ chicken on it.

I was there for the first and last time I had the barbecue chicken pizza in terms of size, which was really overwhelming. I asked the waiter not to let the pizza get dark. It arrived dark. I just ordered from L'Osteria again and this time I'm really disappointed. Every time I order the pizzas are significantly worse than in the restaurant, but today I killed them. 18 euros for a wafer-thin, far too crispy dough with a barely-there dried-out touch of tomato sauce and really stingy additional ingredients is really a joke. The pizza tastes a bit like you would imagine the cardboard box I picked it up in. Truly a complete disaster. That was definitely the last time I would order anything from you outside of the house. Given the prices, you can expect a lot more.

Great food and wonderful atmosphere

We went to Losteria essne with the family at the weekend and were very satisfied! Not only was the food delicious but the service was top notch! We were traveling with a toddler and a baby and were still able to eat very relaxed 🥹 Thanks for the great service and the delicious food!

Die Lage am Wochenmarkt ist natürlich toll. Die Bestellung ist zügig fertig und die Angestellten sind echt Da ich hier bisher nur einmal eine Pizza bestellt hatte kann ich keine wirklich gute Bewertung abgeben aber ich gebe mal mein Bestes. Wie schon gesagt, die Lage ist super Der Aussenbereich ist auch sehr nett Und die Angestellten ebenfalls. Allerdings finde ich es alles zu eng..aber nun gut der Laden ist ja auch oft proppevoll. Die Pizza..fand ich durchschnittlich aber fairerweise will ich sagen, dass ich nur eine Salamipizza hatte und nichts anderes. Würde ich hier wieder essen gehen? Bestimmt denn ich habe noch nicht genug probiert um mir ein endgültiges Urteil zu bilden.

Das Essen ist gut und das Lokal nett, aber an der Bar klingelt ständig das Telefon mit einem extrem penetranten und nervigen Klingelton. Bitte den zu etwas ändern, was weniger aufdringlich ist, und der Laden verdient 5 Sterne.
