Great atmosphere. We were there with our two children. The service was super friendly. We immediately got paper and crayons for the kids. The food was excellent. Highly recommended.

Then they left us a torn disposable tablecloth and didn't even give us cheese. I can't recommend it because of the bad service, but the food is actually good. It's a real shame...

I'm more than disappointed with the service at L'Osteria on Hanauer. I've always enjoyed going here, but what I experienced on this visit truly shocked me. The staff were hopelessly overwhelmed and, to top it off, arrogant—an absolute no-go in the restaurant industry! The shift manager that evening, in particular, clearly didn't quite understand the job description. Customer focus? None at all. Instead, I was fobbed off with a mixture of ignorance and arrogance. Thanks for nothing, L'Osteria. I'll think twice about paying you another visit. It's a shame, because I actually had fond memories of you. But there are still plenty of good alternatives on Hanauer.

We were so looking forward to this evening—a long-awaited reunion with a friend who had traveled all the way from Dubai—and then the disrespectful and rude service ruined the whole evening. In over 30°C heat, we had to wait 15 minutes for a simple glass of water. From the very beginning, the waiter spoke in a rude, condescending tone, no greeting, no smile. No please or thank you... instead of bringing the glasses properly, he just said, "Pass them on!" The same unfriendly response came with the menus. When we politely asked for new cutlery because the old one had been used for the appetizer, all we got was, "You're just giving me extra work." "Cutlery is counted!" One of our guests was even physically tapped. How can something like this happen in a restaurant, and then there's a stupid comment about tipping at the end? Instead of hospitality, there was pure disrespect. This experience truly annoyed and disappointed us. Especially because we started this evening in a great mood, no guest should have to feel that way.

Last night, four of us went to L'Osteria because we're big fans of L'Osteria pizza and were looking forward to a nice evening with pizza and wine. Unfortunately, our visit was a huge disappointment. We ordered three pizzas and a bottle of wine. The food arrived first – but no drinks. When I politely asked the waitress where our drinks were, as we wanted to toast, she just looked at me, didn't answer, and simply walked away. It wasn't until about 10 minutes later that she brought the drinks – but only three glasses for four people. We had to wait again for the fourth glass to arrive. By that time, our pizza was already cold. Furthermore, our empty pizza plates sat on the table for a full 20 minutes without anyone clearing them. We wanted to order dessert afterward. I asked the waitress if they had the hot brownie with vanilla ice cream – she said no, only peach ice cream. I said she could clear the plates and then please come back so we could order dessert. But she didn't come back. After a while, we had to get up and find her ourselves to ask if we could order dessert. Her response: "The kitchen is closed now." So we couldn't order anything else, even though we had given her plenty of notice – she simply didn't come. Then the next annoyance: The wrong wine had been typed in on the bill, which cost €25 more than the one we had ordered. When we asked her about it, she again didn't give a clear response – she just said, "I didn't understand that." We had clearly indicated on the menu which wine we wanted. As we wondered if she might have some kind of restriction, we asked to speak to the manager. The waitress initially ignored us, refilled the salt shaker, and didn't come back. Only when another waitress saw that we were dissatisfied was the manager finally called. The service was absolutely unfriendly, incompetent, and disrespectful. The pizza was cold, the drinks arrived late and incomplete, inquiries were ignored, dessert was no longer available due to a delay, and the bill was incorrect. No apology, no sympathy – nothing. This kind of behavior is unacceptable. We definitely won't be back.

Yes, I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant because all the food is freshly prepared (as in a show-cooking show). Yesterday, Friday, June 6, 2025, we were there for dinner with 15 people after 10 p.m. Our orders were taken promptly and served about 15-20 minutes later. The birthday boy in our group (celebrating a milestone birthday of 70) received a glass of Prosecco or orange juice for all his guests to toast after midnight, all on the house! We thank you again very much for this.

We had a very disappointing experience due to the poor service. When we arrived, we waited over five minutes to be seated—even though the restaurant was far from full (less than 40% capacity). Once seated, three groups who arrived after us were served before us. Does not make sense. My wife has diabetes, and it took over 30 minutes for our food to arrive, which was frustrating given how empty the place was. To be fair, the food was good—if it weren’t for the service, I would have rated this place 4 stars. But based on this experience, we won’t be returning.

What can you say? Top local. The three of us went there spontaneously. We were greeted warmly at the door and given a table. The service team is very young, humorous and very quick. In no time our order was taken and the drinks were on the table. Food also came very quickly, even though the store was busy. We all had pizza. These were very good and made with fresh ingredients. The dough is nice and thin and pleasantly “crispy”. Long story short: the food was very good. The price-performance ratio is second to none.

UPDATE 2025: While it was still recommended a year ago, it's now gone downhill considerably. Rude waiters, pizzas completely oily or so full of flour that it felt like you had sand in your mouth. A real shame. Super nice restaurant with a great atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and accommodating; we always enjoy coming here. The location is also very central, and you can always find a parking space.

Before placing my order, I asked an employee if I could use my 172 Amore hearts for a free pizza if I only paid for the drinks beforehand so that I had enough points (175). After ordering, the employee told me to redeem the voucher. I was shown a barcode, he wanted to scan it, but couldn't and asked me to close the app and restart it. The voucher suddenly expired, payment was no longer possible with it and even the manager couldn't help and made us pay the full price. I've eaten there many times, but I've rarely experienced such bad service. Never again!

Edit: I've been to L'Osteria more often in the last 2-3 years and I feel more and more comfortable. The food is always delicious, the portions are large, and the price is reasonable. The service can sometimes be mixed, the store is always full, so you can sometimes wait a long time - but everyone is usually friendly and accommodating. Always a good address for a delicious meal! Old review: Nice restaurant, food was okay (pasta and risotto are getting smaller and smaller in my opinion... pizza top). The bad review is because of the service. Unfortunately we didn't feel comfortable. The waiter was condescending, commenting on our choices. When we arrived the restaurant was still empty, but the waiter was still inattentive and made us feel unwelcome. The food was great as always, but we won't be going to the Ostend branch any time soon. Too bad.

5 stars on everything. The service is really great. We felt very welcome. We also thought the pizza was great. Whenever we are in Frankfurt for work, we check into the hotel opposite. What could be better than eating a good pizza here! We'll be back!

We had two evening meals here on our business stay, & can I just say we were so glad we visited the lovely restaurant. The staff that served us were polite & helpful. Great food & service. The place had a trendy feel but at the same time cosy. Would advise anyone who likes great Italian food to book here for there meal.
