Friendly service. Food arrived relatively quickly. Noisy atmosphere. Unfortunately, I had severe stomach problems after eating.

Unfortunately, our visit to L’Osteria Aschaffenburg was extremely disappointing. I was there with two friends, and the three of us sat at a very small round table that didn't have enough room for either our drinks or food. A relaxed meal was simply impossible. A photo is attached to illustrate the situation. Despite politely asking twice if we could move to a slightly larger table, our request was ignored. When we pointed out that the situation was extremely impractical and unpleasant, the server merely shrugged and said the curt "Yes, I know" before walking away. When the food finally arrived, the negative impression continued: My pizza was covered in such a thick layer of flour that the entire base of the dough was coated. This is also clearly visible in the attached photo. This was neither appetizing nor acceptable for a restaurant. The absolute low point, however, came at the end: We had barely finished the last bite of our pizza when we were asked to leave the restaurant because new guests were waiting for our table. We didn't even have the chance to sit for a moment, order another drink, or have dessert. No one asked us if we had enjoyed our meal or if we wanted anything else. We found this behavior disrespectful and completely inappropriate. The payment process was anything but pleasant: Our debit cards were literally snatched from our hands and held up to the card reader by the server herself. For us, this clearly crosses a line and is simply outrageous. What's particularly regrettable is that this was already our second very negative visit to this restaurant. The first time, we assumed it was an unfortunate exception—but today's visit unfortunately more than confirmed that impression. It's a real shame, because this is not what we expect from good service and a pleasant atmosphere.

The server assigned to us was incredibly unfriendly. He took our order, but then only returned to deliver the food. After we finished eating, he wordlessly snatched our plates away without asking if we enjoyed our meal, if we wanted anything to drink, if we wanted dessert, or anything like that. My pizza was supposed to be topped with salsiccia and basil, but it had exactly three slices of sausage and four bits of basil.

Not a restaurant for a light meal... The pizza is not only huge in size but also in taste.

Very loud. All the staff seemed very stressed. Although I had a reservation, I was kept waiting at reception for a long time and then told that we had to vacate the table after 100 minutes. Absolutely inappropriate. The music in the restaurant was loud, and you had to speak very loudly to have a conversation, as did all the neighboring tables. The pizza and lasagna were tasty. Unfortunately, they were out of passion fruit sorbet for dessert and replaced it with an unappetizing ice cream without informing us. The service was very good and super friendly. I hope it gets better and with more consideration for customers.

We were there on January 1st around 9:15 PM. At the entrance, we were shown to our table. Shortly after, the waiter, an older gentleman, came and told us to hurry with our selection, as the kitchen was only taking orders for another 5 minutes, and the restaurant was only open for another 30 minutes. He wanted to finish on time. After that, we were very skeptical and considered going home, but we quickly chose something anyway. He came back, and I said I'd like pasta. He said no, that wasn't possible because the kitchen was about to close. I replied that they could have told us that from the beginning. His manner, his tone, everything was so unacceptable. My companion and I then left the restaurant. As a waitress myself, I would never treat customers like that… That's how you lose regular customers. Happy New Year or something 🥲

With the restaurant packed, there were definitely too few staff members, and there was also food scraps and dirt on the floor. The main reason for my review was the gnocchi. I ordered salmon instead of shrimp, which the waitress said wouldn't be a problem. What I was served was a tiny portion, barely enough for a child, with maybe 20 gnocchi, and the plate wasn't even covered. The sauce was almost completely missing, the portion was practically dry, and there was a maximum of 50g of crumbled salmon. According to the waitress, this dish would have cost an extra €5, even though shrimp are usually more expensive than salmon, and it was simply substituted. In the end, I was charged for a different dish altogether, which was about €3 more expensive than the gnocchi with shrimp. That makes absolutely no sense to me. Since I was still hungry afterward, I also ordered some antipasti (burrata and Parma ham). This was okay and considerably more reasonable. I don't usually eat at places like this. In this case, we were a group of men who had arranged to meet there. The atmosphere was very loud and hectic, more like a cafeteria than a restaurant. Unfortunately, it wasn't a good experience for me.

The location is beautiful, as is usually the case with many L'Osteria restaurants. Unfortunately, the service is poor – as is almost always the case with L'Osteria. Despite having a reservation, you stand at the door for 15-20 minutes waiting for a table. Our table neighbors waited an hour for their pizza and only received it after reminding them twice. The same thing happened to us. After 40 minutes, we inquired, and it was clear our order had been forgotten. Then it took another 20 minutes. Other things were forgotten as well. All the L'Osteria restaurants in Germany that I know have a massive service problem. Too few staff and endless waiting times. The food quality is also, unfortunately, never more than mediocre.

An Evening to Forget I'm speechless at the service we experienced here. Despite having a reservation for 6:15 p.m., we weren't shown to a table until 15 minutes later. But that was just the beginning of an endless wait. It took another 20 minutes before anyone even bothered to take our order. The absolute low point: our red wine order was taken, only for us to be casually informed 10 minutes later that they were out of it. What was particularly infuriating was that the waiter had absolutely no clue about the menu and didn't even know what alternatives were available. He had to run around and ask what was even left. When the drinks finally arrived half an hour later, the food had already been served – completely unacceptable! We finally received the side salad sometime in the middle of the main course. But the crowning glory was paying the bill: we had to ask for it three times. The server seemed more concerned with calmly stocking the shelves with Parmesan shakers than with attending to paying customers. When she finally arrived after 20 minutes, she was extremely unfriendly and annoyed. She didn't even thank us for the tip we left out of sheer politeness. We were ignored all evening and felt like second-class guests. Anyone looking for a pleasant evening should steer clear of this place. I won't be returning anytime soon.

The pizza and salad were delicious. The service was friendly. Unfortunately, the music in the restaurant was very loud, so the waiter mistook my order. Since the salad that was brought (pollo) was similar to the one I ordered (Caesar salad with chicken), I didn't notice at first and complained too late. When I complained, the waiter claimed he knew perfectly well what I had ordered. It's a shame that they can't just say, "Sorry, I misunderstood," but instead try to discuss it with the customer first. To be fair, they did offer us complimentary coffee and dessert when we paid.

We ate there as a family today. It was unfortunately more than disappointing. The salad only arrived after we had almost finished our pizzas, and it was practically devoid of dressing. When we asked for more, we were told it already had dressing on it. My request for more dressing was ignored, and it only arrived after we said we were sending the salad back. The waiter, who is also the restaurant manager, was incredibly unfriendly and rude.

Prime location in Aschaffenburg. Perfect for special occasions.

I was in Aschaffenburg last week for a training course. I went to L'osteria twice and I really enjoyed it. The food was delicious. I didn't have to wait long. The service was super friendly and helpful; I'll definitely be back for my next course!

So, we went there for the first time today. And it will definitely be the last. We ordered two pizzas, one with four cheeses and one with chicken, and a pasta dish. The pasta was an absolute disaster; it tasted disgusting. The spices were strange. The pizzas were huge but completely dry and had no toppings at all—they were inedible. It was like biting into wood. The service was terrible. The waiter was unfriendly, didn't even say "enjoy your meal" or anything; he just seemed annoyed. The plates were too small; we didn't know how to cut them. What's the point of such a large pizza if it's completely dry and tastes like flour? The service was just as disastrous. What a waste of money! My daughter and I have never eaten so badly. We will never eat there again.

The male server on Saturday, November 30, 2025, was very unfriendly and impatient. My plate of food was taken away without me even asking if I was finished. The restaurant needs to improve the cleanliness of the seating area.

I had a Wild Berry Lillet, which was watery; the Lillet had been topped up with soda instead of Schweppes Wild Berry. There were also too many ice cubes left in it. The food service also needs better coordination. My beef ragù alla Bolognese arrived first, and my partner's pizza came very late. By then, I had already finished eating. That's unacceptable! And the restaurant wasn't even that full!

We visited Losteria twice this month. Once on a Thursday evening and once on a Saturday evening. Even on Thursday evening, the service was definitely not up to par. Both food and drinks were repeatedly brought incorrectly, sometimes with 30-minute intervals between orders. I thought, "Okay, we're a group of 20 people, maybe that's too much for the staff." On Saturday evening, we were a group of 8, and the same thing happened again. Our food was once more brought to the table incorrectly. Caesar salad without chicken and Parmesan? Cold pizzas were also a recurring problem. After asking three times, the last pizza finally arrived, after the other 7 had, of course, already finished eating. The only positive was that the 8th person received a complimentary dessert, and the pizza was reduced by 50%. You'd think that when you reserve for a larger group, the staff could prepare accordingly... Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The service is in dire need of improvement and urgently requires a complete overhaul. The food itself is tasty. Nevertheless, due to the service, we will no longer eat at Losteria.

Food is always good but the service never quite hits the mark. 15 minutes waiting to order a drink when a young girl is going round wiping every table that noone sat at the whole time we were there. Staff are not unfriendly they just lack the basics of great customer service.

As early as November 15th (!), American Christmas songs (!) were blaring so loudly that normal conversation was nearly impossible. This is the reason for only one star. The food quality met expectations for a franchise – it's not your average neighborhood Italian restaurant. The service was initially friendly and quick, but then we were asked to vacate the table about 30 minutes before the end of our seating time.

The food at L'Osteria was perfect! It would have been great if they'd offered some bread with the meal for the sauce. Many Italian restaurants put that out beforehand. No problem, I'll ask for it next time. The service was very friendly and attentive. We didn't have to wait long for the food either. The atmosphere is absolutely lovely. Perfect! What was strange (hence the one-star deduction): we had ordered food there about two and a half weeks in advance, and the delivery was nothing like the food we ate there. We were very dissatisfied with the delivery (very greasy, watery sauce, etc.). But that wasn't the case at all in the restaurant (even though we ordered the same dish again). Perhaps a different chef was working.

It's an excellent Italian restaurant in Germany. We can say we'll be back. I recommend it, it's an excellent place.

We had a reservation for three people on a Sunday. When we arrived, we were told the place was very busy, and because of this, we were seated at a snack bar table in a corner that was nowhere near big enough for three people. When we asked if there was another table available, since we had a reservation, we were directed to an identical table on the other side of the restaurant. For this reason, we decided to leave. If you're fully booked, you shouldn't accept reservations you can't accommodate. Unfortunately, greed for profit seems to prevail over hospitality. I don't know if I want to waste my valuable time going back to this place, especially since there are similar restaurants nearby that offer a much warmer welcome. Therefore, I couldn't comment on the food.

I am big fan of L’Osteria chain and we definitely try wherever we find them. Very friendly and polite people at service here. Loved the overall vibes we got from the place. The three stars are only because of the failed Alio pasta. Was completely blunt, no sign of garlic and olive oil. To be honest the entire plate was returned as it came out from the kitchen. The staff was really helpful and she just took it back without any discussion. The wine bottle we took was just awesome. We were little sad to have returned the main dish. But I was not satisfied with our side dish too. May be we will try their authentic pizza next time. New review : We were here again in July 2025 This time we did order pizza. And all the pizzas were just amazing. We were happy with the taste and the service was also friendly.

A complete disaster: 1 salad - 1 pizza, 1 hour of waiting time 😅 We ordered food over the phone and were told there would be a 25-minute wait and a price of €26.50. However, when we got there, we discovered that our order hadn't been taken at all. Despite the promise, they then said they would have it ready in 10 minutes, and we ended up waiting another half hour. In addition, both pizza/salad dishes were missing important ingredients: The extra corn was missing from the salad we ordered, and the shrimp were forgotten in the Margherita pizza with shrimp – but we were still charged the full price. This price was actually higher than the quoted price (€30.45 instead of €26.50). Very disappointing experience – there is urgent need for improvement in service and organization.

Overall, my visit to L'Osteria was very good – I'd give it a solid 4.5 out of 5. The food was excellent, and the service very friendly and polite. A small point deduction was due to a certain pressure just before closing time: It seemed a bit like everything had to be rushed so they could close promptly at 10 p.m. As someone in the restaurant industry, you'd recognize this immediately. Nevertheless: very good service, delicious food – highly recommended!

After a questioning look from me to the lady, all I got was a response to another colleague: "Oh, can you please ask what's happening with the food at the table?" Another 15-20 minutes passed. Again, no one came and said anything. Then another waitress came by, and we politely asked her if she knew anything, since no one was telling us and no one was coming past our table anymore. Then, what felt like an eternity later, I turned toward the kitchen, and the waitress came around the corner with what I'd call an "ironic" laugh, carrying our food. We were so happy, grabbed our cutlery, and off we went. Then the next disappointment – ​​the pasta was lukewarm – even cold in places!!!! When we pointed this out, the waitress said she'd ask and have more made. Unfortunately, I had to decline, as we didn't have much time left. Since we had already waited over an hour and a half for our food, we were a bit pressed for time. We arrived on time and had plenty of time. But of course, they didn't want to wait forever again. They offered us a tiramisu to go. I declined, as the pasta wasn't even eaten because it was already cold. When paying, I pointed out to the lady that we wouldn't pay for the side salads because they hadn't even been brought. We were then told that the colleague hadn't even taken the receipt. Great, I thought. Everything that could have gone wrong during this visit!!! In the end, they waived the pasta from our bill. But we won't be visiting this restaurant again!

What a shame. It could have been a lovely evening, as the food was excellent. Unfortunately, the background music was way too loud, and the waiter was a disaster. The highlight was when, with the phone to his ear and loudly arguing with a customer, he rudely interrupted our table's internal conversation to crumple up the papers. He didn't seem to mind that my wife's cell phone flew to the floor in the process. The subsequent bill settlement was a story in itself. A shame, but not here.

As always, the pizzas at L'Osteria are very large, but you can also order them as two halves with different toppings on two plates (so two people can eat them). The pizza overhung the plate and was unappetizingly large. The vegetables were far too few and tasted of nothing. It only tasted of greasy, oily cheese. Since I didn't like the mineral water offered, I wanted to order tap water, which wasn't possible. The service unfortunately reinforced the bad impression. What a shame!

We celebrated our wedding anniversary with a concert in Aschaffenburg – and ended the evening at L'Osteria. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted by a young, friendly, and very pretty lady and shown to our table. When she wanted to take our order a few minutes later, things immediately got funny: She asked me why I was grinning like that – she probably thought I was laughing at her. My answer: "No, I just always smile, I'm in a good mood!" The ice was broken, and the atmosphere was great. The food arrived promptly and in the best L'Osteria style: large portions, superb quality. Especially recommended: the chili oil – it gives every dish that final kick. 🔥 What also struck us: The entire team was extremely friendly, not only to us, but also in their interactions with each other. This positive atmosphere is immediately noticeable – you simply feel welcome. Conclusion: We felt completely at home and would love to come back. And to the nice, sweet waitress: A promise is a promise – here's the completely positive review! 😉

I was very disappointed with my visit to this restaurant. The server was extremely unfriendly and seemed very annoyed, even with simple questions. Instead of a pleasant atmosphere, it felt like guests were more of a nuisance. Such disrespectful and rude behavior is completely inappropriate in the restaurant industry. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Even though the place was quite empty and several waiters were standing around without any duties, we simply weren't served. The waiters simply walked past us. After 25 minutes, we got up and left. No restaurant should allow this kind of service in these times! This was our last time at your place. It's a shame, we were looking forward to the food. There were also a lot of cobwebs on the windows above.

I've been collecting points in the L'Osteria app for a really long time because I was looking forward to a free pizza. Today I finally wanted to redeem them – but the request was simply rejected on the grounds that the scanner was broken. Instead of being understanding or offering a solution, the manager was also rude. That really put me off L'Osteria.

I'm currently sitting at L'Osteria with my boys, and we finally wanted to redeem the points we'd been saving up for so long. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to, which is really disappointing. We were looking forward to rewarding our loyalty, but the rules don't seem to allow it. This really put a damper on our evening. It's a shame, because otherwise the food and atmosphere here are actually great.

I ordered a pizza there, but unfortunately, it wasn't sliced and it was cold. I paid almost 20 euros for it and had to wait about 55 minutes.

This L'Osteria is recommended. The food is good and comparable, just like the others. Despite a short-notice reservation, we got a table on the terrace. The terrace outside has a small drawback: you sit right next to the street, and the noise somewhat spoils the ambiance. Inside, everything was clean, including the restrooms.

The pizza wasn't exactly Börner, but it was okay, just sparingly topping. In Darmstadt, we went to the same restaurant and ordered the same menu. The waitress was incredibly friendly; you get decent service there! Five stars recommended; it was 1,000 times better, and the taste was top-notch. In Aschaffenburg, the service was a bit rude, not to say rude. Unfortunately, L'Osteria in Aschaffenburg is not recommended in terms of taste or service. A beautiful city, but I won't eat there again.
