LeDu Chinese Street Food in Bonn

My wife and I spontaneously stopped by for dinner and really enjoyed it. The employee who took our order was super friendly, and the food was delicious. We had the dumpling mix, a jianbing, and the Sichuan bowl. We'll be happy to come back next time we're in Bonn.

A hidden culinary highlight. Jiangbing is a dream. Incredibly delicious! And the service is very friendly and attentive.

A discovery! Although it's just a snack bar, it's the only place I've had Chinese food in Bonn that comes close to authentic Chinese food. The spicy Chinese crêpes, called jianbing, are very tasty, for example.

LeDu – A Hidden Gem in Bonn Central Station I come here about once a month and am always impressed. The food is fresh, creative, and consistently high quality. The service is friendly and attentive. A place that's easily overlooked in the hustle and bustle of the station – and that's precisely why it's a real insider tip! One caveat: Orders are placed directly at the counter, not at your seat – but the food is served reliably and promptly.

I'm a regular at LeDu at the train station and I'm always very satisfied. The sesame and peanut bowl with tofu is delicious. The staff are always friendly, and it's clean and comfortable. Perfect when you're on the go and want something tasty to eat quickly.

Bonn's best authentic Chinese cuisine. Instead of the usual plate of fried noodles, they serve wontons, hot pot, noodle soup, and more, along with a cold sour plum juice. The seating is at small tables that reminded me of the street food I had back in Chengdu. Many people of Chinese descent eat here, which is always a good sign. Very polite staff with good advice. I'll be back tomorrow evening!

Today we checked into our hotel in Bonn and were looking for an Asian restaurant. We discovered LeDu by chance downstairs in a passage (under Primark), and we were thrilled. We had no idea what was on offer, but the cashier gave us excellent advice, and the spiciness was also well-judged (I don't eat spicy food at all, but my husband loves it). We shared a mixed plate of dumplings: I had the wonton soup, and he had the hotpot bowl. The dumplings are very good, with many different flavors and delicious soy vinegar and peanut sauce. Very intense in flavor. The wontons tasted like homemade, and the broth was very mild and delicious. I didn't try the hotpot, but my husband loved it. There are limited seating options, and you can see into the kitchen. Overall, highly recommended.

Last month, I had serious doubts about the quality of the food at this restaurant. I ate the hot and sour noodles, and it felt like I was eating boiled food. I couldn't bite into it. When I got home, my throat was sore, and I was vomiting and had diarrhea, as if I were poisoned. I've heard that many Chinese restaurants use boiled food to cut costs. The food at this restaurant should be of this quality. It's terrible. Please take care of yourselves!

This was the first time in Europe I'd ever tasted the typical taste of Chinese street food. I have no idea how they do it, and no idea why all the other authentic restaurants can't. My Sichuan bowl was delicious, truly authentic! It's all the more surprising that this restaurant is located in a train station underpass. Very friendly staff, and my request for Sichuan spice was met. The price was reasonable at €12.50.

We spontaneously stopped by LeDu for lunch and were greeted by a very friendly employee. He briefly explained what we could order, and then we sat down. The food arrived very quickly, and we were pleasantly surprised. It tasted very authentic and the portions were really generous. We tried all the dumplings, sesame and peanut noodles, and the Peking wrap. The portions were already quite generous for two people, and they were delicious, too. We'll be back, especially because we want to try the hot pot. Thank you very much!

We ordered two different dishes via Lieferando (see photo), but received two identical dishes. It can happen, so we called the snack bar. The employee on the phone tried to play us for complete idiots and claimed they were two different dishes. Both had exactly the same ingredients, so it was a blatant lie. The reminder that my guest was not allowed to eat peanuts due to an allergy was ignored. The employee repeatedly insisted that they were different dishes, since it was stated on the packaging. He simply laughed at us on the phone. So we repackaged the products and drove to the snack bar together. Even when we spoke to them in person, they didn't understand the problem, or at least didn't want to. They claimed that the main branch in Munich was responsible for the product photos and ingredients, and that they had already pushed for a change. Which, of course, makes no difference or sense for two identical dishes. One dish on the menu does NOT contain peanuts, while the other does, which can be vital for someone with allergies. BOTH dishes, however, contained peanuts. No matter how much you talked, the gentlemen, both the employees and the boss, were completely uncooperative. After a while, the boss simply threw the money we'd paid onto the counter and disappeared into the kitchen. In my 48 years of life, I've never experienced such abysmally horrible behavior toward a customer in response to a legitimate complaint. The allergen list on Lieferando isn't checked at all, and that could be dangerous. Never again!

Unique and authentic place to get a taste of some really great Chinese (street but restaurant quality) food! For sure the best train station food I ever had, but also some of the best overall! And the advices and the service were over the top, really! Just pass by if you are hungry and in or around the station!

Tried duck Jianbing and beef rice noodles at two different times, easy for a quick bite and the staff is very welcoming! Would like to try their dumplings next time to see if it's a match of my personal taste 🙂

One of my favorite food-spots for a quick lunch or take away (the Jian-Bing is just perfect for that) since it opened here. Everything I’ve tried so far was really fresh, authentic (I’ve lived in china for a time) and tasty. Only the 🌶️🌶️🌶️ seafood soup was a little too spicy for me 😅 but they have great non-spicy options, too. Obviously not a „proper“ restaurant for a candle light dinner, though. But if they were open in the morning, I’d probably come by for JianBing every other morning 😅 We also ordered from home one time, but I think this food should be enjoyed fresh.

Whenever I miss Chinese noodles in Bonn, I will go to this restaurant in the city center. The spicy beef noodle soup and dandan noodles are very authentic, with delicious soup, tender beef, spicy and refreshing. The reformed duck pancake is the favorite of children.

Charging 12.50 for a meal in a pedestrian zone is certainly bold, but then only putting half a portion in the takeaway box (which others have also reported) is a disgrace!! I don't know if it's a scam targeting people who are obviously passing through, but that was barely enough for a small starter.

For €12.50, what I unpacked at home was truly disappointing. And no, I hadn't eaten anything yet. That's all there was in the photo. What a shame.

Excellent food, freshly cooked and as close as possible to authentic Chinese cuisine. I enjoy going here regularly once a week. I'm also pleased that the staff is always very friendly and helpful.

I had the Hot Bowl with wheat noodles and beef today. This is a dish best suited for the winter time because it is quite oily and spicy. It had two leaves of Pak Choi but no other veggies in it, which is disappointing because the menu mentions "seasonal vegetables" and leeks (which were not to be found). The noodles were nice and chewy. Given the location right at the central station can probably justify the price of 12.50 euros, but it would be nice to have less oil and more mixed veggies in the bowl.

The roast duck pancakes are made with authentic ingredients, affordable, and delicious. Nothing is better than being able to eat freshly made hometown meals in a place abroad.

Dude, hell to the no! The food really wasn't my thing. The dumplings tasted like they were leftovers, and they weren't tasty. The jianbing had leftover cartilage and whole pieces of cartilage in them instead of duck meat. All in all, I wouldn't recommend the restaurant.

Good services, terrific food, and awesome atmosphere

I've been eating here for the last two years, and I usually come in the evening after 5 p.m. because of the all-you-can-eat hotpot. You should come with 2 or more people. Now it costs €30++. They have many soups to choose from, including a vegan option you can order until 8:30 p.m. I personally like chicken, beef, lamb, vegetables and so on. I like the spicy soup. (Unfortunately I can't remember what the soup is called) it's a bit spicy, you shouldn't put so many vegetables in the spicy soup because it's really oily. Overall really good, I recommend. (Unfortunately I didn't take a photo.😅)

The food at the place was okay, but very, very greasy. I cannot recommend this place to people if they have even a slightly sensitive stomach. The feeling of well-being after this meal leaves much to be desired. The atmosphere seems to be nice, but the lack of restroom, raises questions. Coupled with all this, even the helpful of the guy behind the counter doesn't save the day.

The food is good & has great flavor but due to the location and siting options it doesn’t justify the price. The restaurant could also benefit from cleaning the tables a bit more often
