A very hot Saturday (end of summer), we were looking for a table, for 5 persons. Was the first time in this restaurant (and perhaps the last one), and after asking if they can provide us a table outside, the answer was no, due to small tables, but inside would be better (she recommended), because of the high temperature outside. We entered inside, and shortly gave our order for drinks and food. The “one star” feedback goes only for the bartender, who was very kind and provided us the drinks in a short time. The restaurant was very Dirty in General, dirty floor, the toilets were as well extremely dirty (we did not used them), and we had to ask to clean the table. After around 15 minutes we thought to leave because of the extremely high temperature inside (she lied, telling us that inside is cooler than outside, there was no AC or Klimaanlage), and asked how long it will take the food to be ready, and the answer was in the next 5 minutes we could eat. The food arrived after around 50 minutes, from the time we gave our order. Trying to eat, the restaurant inside was full of flies, sharing our food with them as well, but the worst thing, is that the meat of the pork Schnitzel did not tasted at all (zero flavour), despite the fact that the dishes was served in a big portion, the food was not tasty!!!!!! I am very sorry for leaving this review but unfortunately we had a bad experience, over there. I hope that the owner / management (if they read the customers satisfaction) will take in consideration these topics, and at least be responsible for improving these kind of situations in the future.

The food was actually alright. Plus, they had traditional and vegan options. The service was sometimes what I think most native English speakers would consider rude, but then sometimes funny, but I'm putting it down to the language barrier. But ultimately, what ruined it was RATS running around the floor of the restaurant. We spotted them, alerted the staff, and they joked that it was in our food. It's not something you joke about.

Beyond any doubt. We were in Cologne as tourists. Came due to the good recessions. Absolutely great! The food was amazing. Service is quick and always friendly. But you can tell that the good woman has “hair on her teeth” ;-) Which we think is good. Value for money justified and authentic. The restaurant is welcome to do so.

Incredibly delicious schnitzels in a quiet location right in the city center. The price is a little higher than outside the city, but that's normal.

I was there yesterday (Monday) evening with a friend. The food was very good and the service lady was especially friendly and very attentive.

It's ok, the reviews on Google are accurate enough but I want to add its bit of a tourist trap in regard to the prices and I was asked to tip which I feel would not have happened if I was German.

Had lunch here and returned for dinner. Excellent pizza and steak ☺

Small, clean, you receive a very friendly welcome and we really enjoyed the food. It's actually very cozy and I would have liked to give it full marks, but there was something we didn't like and that's why I only give it 2 stars for Ambience. There were probably problems with a waitress and they clearly and clearly, I don't want to say argue, but they were things that you as a guest don't like to hear. This waitress was complained about almost the entire time when she wasn't there. Something like this can be clarified at the back where the guests won't notice, or you can save it for after work.

Hello! I want to recommend this place to you, as a nice city for vacation, it is located near the main cathedral, there is a very nice friendly waitress (she is the soul of this place), don’t worry if you don’t speak German, she also speaks English like the bartender. We didn’t eat , but the plates that were brought out to other guests looked tasty and were big, we drank the famous Cologne beer here👍 I advise you to try it.

The food was great. I had a Lederer veal schnitzel with goat cheese, cherry tomatoes and onions. Plus french fries. I was excited. Salad was also tasteful. Since it is in a tourist corner, there is a lot to observe. It's not cheap, but it's delicious. The selection on the menu is very varied. The Köbes was personable and friendly. Gladly again!

Used to be our favorite bar/restaurant in the city center. Apparently there are new operators on their way to becoming a tourist restaurant. I don't have to go there anymore!

Even though we had a reservation, they made us sit in a low-lying place. The waitress did not welcome us nicely. While I was wiping the side table, water came onto me. The food wasn't that great. Prices seem a little high. I don't recommend it much.

An unexpected disappointment in the very center of Cologne... The food tastes like convenience food from a supermarket. The children's fries are not fresh and very hard.

These are clearly riding the location. It's a stones throw from the wonderful Kølner Dom so of course there's a lot of foot-traffic. But that doesn't excuse issues such as not bothering to update their menu when dishes change, worn-down and dirty dining-rooms and toilets, uninspired food and service that is both slow and unfriendly. To add insult to injury, prices are noticeably higher than the norm for comparable meals in Køln.

If you are looking for an innovative, light, nouvelle cuisine immersion... this is not the place for you. However, if you would like to experience traditional German cooking at its best, then look no further. The restaurant is located in prime tourist trap Cologne, in the shadow of the cathedral , yet it's great value for money and the staff are friendly, experienced, and care about giving you a quality experience. You won't need a starter - just get straight into the main event. For me, a bratwurst, four Nürnberger sausages and a frankfurter, served on a bed of mashed potato and sauerkraut. For my companion, not as figure-conscious as me (!), the same dish served with pork knuckle. The food was tasty and hearty, the sausages just outstanding - top quality, beautifully cooked, juicy and delicious, the Nürnberger sausages better than the ones I tried in Nürnberg itself. I'm not a great fan of sauerkraut, but here it was excellent. We drank beer, (Kölsch of course), we drank wine, we drank brandy. We left very satisfied. It's hard to beat Lederer.

Yesterday I visited with three foreign friends to watch Scotland's European Championship game. We sat down and placed our orders. The connection to the game broke off several times while I was ordering. When the food came, the waiter accidentally dropped the sauce from the tray and onto my arm (which definitely happens). The sauce was still relatively hot and burned my arm badly. Ice cubes were only brought to me after I asked. After we finished eating, I went to the toilet. At that moment, one of my foreign colleagues was brought the bill. Unknowingly, he paid 19% VAT and a €7 tip on top of the actual meal (€21 for a Jägerschnitzel), which is why the price increased significantly. When I criticized that a surcharge was not appropriate for such a combustion, the owner reacted very unreasonably. She also aggressively grabbed my upper arm and asked “what I would want now”. The other two waiters responded with understanding. Only the owner/restaurant manager criticized me for my behavior. And that was only because I told her that you couldn't charge a surcharge that high if you had just burned your guest. I didn't even ask for a discount. It may be that the VAT information is noted somewhere on the menu, but it is not stated in the direct price of the meal. To put it briefly: the food is good, but the service is a complete disaster. Little competence and very unfriendly. I have never had such an experience in the Rhineland. I strongly advise against it.

To immerse yourself in the atmosphere of German restaurants, this restaurant is at the top! The typical German dishes are delicious. The place is not very big but it feels good there. The servers are rude but like in all restaurants. We had a waitress who almost fainted when I asked her for water 🤣! In restaurants it's straight beer and if you finish your drink they give you one straight away! If you want more, you put your coaster on it....just to say that I recommend this restaurant. Very good value for money.

I found the waitress so nice that she enthusiastically brought our delicious order and I felt at home. PS: I'm the one who recommends you wear Skatchers instead of sneakers as a waitress.😉

The boss tried to manage everything on her own, while some of the other staff stood around idle and, when asked to take an order or bring the bill, announced that they weren't allowed to do that, only the boss could do that. First we were told by her that she didn't have any free menus at the moment, then we chose the food from the menu posted in front of the restaurant, but she apparently didn't feel willing or able to take our order. In between, she loudly scolded the counter staff in front of all the guests for pouring incorrectly. We then paid for our drinks, where we had to listen to a stupid comment, and left without ordering food.

AGood food at fair prices, although I can recommend more traditional dishes such as Himmel and Äd. Service here is also offered in a traditional Cologne style with a big heart ❤️

Well, if you, as an ignorant person, fall for the advertising. Small restaurant, pretty run down, unspeakable toilets. Everything would be tolerated if the food was okay. Paprika schnitzel more than mediocre, "wonderful" sauce from the big bucket. Rump steaks were not only cut incorrectly, but also burnt on the edges. It makes sense to use the microwave in conjunction with a grill. The “pepper sauce” was catastrophic, probably from the bag. The fries were really good. When I then see the usual prices for the old town, namely those at the upper end, it's an extremely unpleasant evening. The only bright spot: the very attentive, friendly waitress, who was obviously a little embarrassed about serving these dishes.

Unfortunately, during our visit there was a limited selection of dishes (no tarte flambée, no sauerbraten), but the schnitzel was good. Service not overly friendly. Overall, definitely recommended for tourists.

The waitress is gorgeous, friendly and helpful. The food is nicely arranged, good looking and of course delicious...and enormous (for a typical asian😂) If you can not eat up your portion, just nicely ask the gorgeous waitress for packaging like I did, she's willing to help. Don't get me wrong, all the waiter/waitress are friendly and gorgeous, they care for all customers. The price, atmosphere and service speed are above expectation (very good) First time in a Germany restaurant is worth it.

Big bow! The taste of the whole thing was very low! Tarte flambée was almost burnt. Regarding the schnitzel - the meat was nice and thin, but without any taste. The hunter sauce was a mix of canned vegetables mixed with a whole mushroom! The fries were ok. The salad was reasonably fresh, but soaked in a ready-made sauce. To make matters worse, the service made you feel like you were more of a burden than a guest. And as the icing on the cake there was a hefty bill - after all, you're paying for the great location! So it would have been great for a military canteen at the Foreign Legion in French Guiana... I think Cologne has more to offer.

Generous dish but a little expensive. I ordered the escalope with the egg on top. It was good but nothing more. Bacon is actually cubed ham and has little flavor with the onions. The fries were inedible because there was so much salt on them. In fact the whole dish is too salty and the salad is bathed in vinaigrette sauce. I love having lots of them but there are limits. Better proportioning of salt and vinaigrette would be a plus for this business. And of course it's impossible to have ketchup to go with the fries or water despite the salt at no extra cost -_-

We couple and our friend had lunch here. We ordered 3 dishes, 2 of which includes white asparagus. It’s the white asparagus season in May in Germany and French. The white ones are more tender than the green ones. The schnitzel was a bit dry. The sausages were good. I love the Nuremberg sausages (smallest ones in the pic).

It was pouring with rain & we found this small restaurant to eat. Staff were very welcoming & we had a lovely meal with drinks.

I had the vegan schnitzel and it was one of the best vegan meals I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Delicious chips and salad, and big portion. My partner had the pork schnitzel and really enjoyed it too.

The food is definitely nothing special. Asparagus was overcooked and the Schnitzel was not smooth at all and way to thick for a real Wiener. Service is fun, but does forget quite some stuff. All in all price value not given, location near the dome makes it quite expensive.

Rustic Cologne pub with a Viennese Köbes (real original). In the picture you can see a schnitzel Tyrolean style, it was really good at the price of €21.90 - would be happy again at any time.

We were in Cologne today and by chance we came across the small restaurant Lederer. It has a great, rustic atmosphere, the food is very tasty and attractively prepared. I personally really liked the waiter or host 🤷‍♀️, funny, rustic, with a decidedly Austrian charm 🥰. We would be happy to come back. 5 stars are not enough 👍😉😄

The Viennese schnitzel was nothing Viennese, bad meat and frozen fries. In the salt and pepper container there were pieces of broken glass. The toilet was dirty and the bar even dirtier.

I met my colleagues in this restaurant and wanted to have a nice after-work beer with food. The taste of the food was very tasty, but there was no additional butter for bread. The waitress was very unfriendly and always commented that I had so much to do. Inside and outside were just too much for the slightly older lady. I can understand that too. When we wanted to pay, we had to wait about 30 minutes. Finally, I have to say that prices have become very expensive and this cannot be justified by increasing VAT. I won't go to this restaurant again!!!

Terrible place! worst service ever in my experience! Do not enter this establishment under any circumstances!!! When we entered, they didn't even greet us, of course they didn't offer us a table either. We sat down to order and that's where it started... they don't make coffee, although it's on the menu. I ordered mashed potatoes for the child, they brought fries. The schnitzel was not tasty. We ask to pay by card, they approached us with a wallet as if we were asking for cash. And the waiter kept touching my chair when he passed by

Locale affollato nei pressi del duomo, ma che fornisce un buon servizio di cucina tipica. Abbiamo provato l'aringa fredda (tenera, ma un po' troppo annegata nella crema) con croccanti patate al forno e insalata e il wurstel bollito con crauti (valido e senza troppo aceto). We had a sumptuous dinner, the asparagus soup was wonderful. There are good examples of German cuisine.

Excellent typical German hostelrie for high quality generous portions of German food and beer!! What's more to ask for !! We had the schnitzel and codfish and accompanied by Weissbeer it was exactly what we were looking for and at EUR65 incl a tip we felt very good value for money and served by very friendly staff. Thoroughly recommended
