Nice hotel ideal for hiking, good breakfast and spacious rooms

Faded glory. A lovely, old-fashioned, classic German hotel. Beautiful location. Breakfast is meager and never replenished, the dinner menu is small and basic, and strangely, we didn't have/couldn't get dessert. There's no bar or option for evening drinks. Rooms and towels were changed every two days!

The hotel is beautifully situated; the view of the countryside from our balcony was priceless! However, the hotel is certainly showing its age. But everything is clean. It's that old country-house charm… You have to like it. The food was okay, but seemed a bit expensive for the quality offered. The staff were consistently very friendly and very service-oriented.

Absolutely beautiful and tranquil place tucked away in nature! Room was amazing, dual level for us. Staff don't speak much English but that's not a problem with Google to help both sides. Food was absolutely beautiful and service was great. We got a lovely sunset and a deer in the field as well. We will definitely be staying again on our next road trip!

Disgusting. The entire hallway stinks of wet dogs. The room is covered in dog hair. It's truly disgusting!

Very nice staff, nice surroundings and good breakfast. The dinner was especially great. I was also helped directly and without further ado with a problem relating to my room.

We have been at the Fuchsbau at Christmas and Easter for several years. It was always nice and cozy. Yesterday, after all these years, we were greeted with the following words: “We don’t have the capacity for something like that today!” I find this very shameful after all these years!!! I definitely won't be coming back to the country house any time soon! For a 3-star hotel, something like this is below all... Hang a sign in the entrance saying closed society!!!!

We went there for dinner today. We had roast venison with croquettes, red cabbage, and vegetables. The meat was tender as butter. High praise for the chef, and the service was very friendly and attentive. We'll be back.

Beautifully located house with an incredibly friendly, family atmosphere, lovingly furnished in a traditional country house style and great value for money. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, this is a disappointment for hikers. The top ratings for the restaurant only apply to overnight guests. We were in the area on a weekend/Saturday with (predicted) perfect weather (!). Clearly visible signs pointing to the country inn were everywhere. But when we arrived around 5 p.m., full of anticipation and hunger, we were informed—very kindly, though—that the food was only for hotel guests and the chef wouldn't arrive until 6 p.m. So, while the shortage of skilled workers was fine, otherwise there was boundless lack of imagination, a lack of will and talent for improvisation to bridge the gap by simply providing small things and thus not alienating those who had come from afar. Apparently, no coordination within the municipality, the district, the Eifel Association, etc., regarding this only inn in the area with a prime location, thus making it unattractive for the entire region and lacking commitment to survival... In the end, after an hour's drive back, we ate our final hiking day meal at home... Germany is destroying itself...

We celebrated a birthday there. The buffet and the drinks offered were excellent. The service was excellent and kept us entertained until late into the night. Highly recommended.

I usually never evaluate my stays before departure, but today I do. We had booked overnight HB. Sensationally delicious and varied food, a rump steak with the quality of a fillet steak, perfectly fried... Simply good. Also the room, yes, furnishings a bit old fashioned, but clean, clean, clean and comfortable with a fantastic view. It was a chance booking, but we are thrilled and will come back. Oh yes, the most important thing: very friendly, nice and courteous staff.

Very good base for our tours in the Eifel. Rooms with typical German furnishings, very clean. Excellent restaurant and terrace. View is fantastic.

Wonderful view from the balcony, the staff is really nice and helpful. The breakfast was great, scrambled eggs and fried eggs were freshly prepared upon request and the children especially loved the fresh waffles. The furnishings are a bit older, but the apartment had everything you needed and it was very large and everything was very clean. We would come again.

Positive points first: The view is spectacular. There are many great walking routes nearby. Breakfast and staff are very friendly and kind. Quiet place. Clean and soft sheets. Mini kettle and great coffee. Negative points: Separate beds in couple room. There is space in the middle of the bed. It is very challenging for two people to sleep together. The mini fridge is broken. It doesn't cool. When you open the bathroom door, water fills inside and everything gets wet. The dryer is very weak. Most of the employees do not speak English. Getting along is quite challenging. Despite all these setbacks, I will give it 4 stars because of the balcony with a wonderful mountain view. If these mishaps had happened in another hotel it would have been 3 points. But the view is wonderful!

We went hiking in the country house with our dog for a weekend. The country house is beautifully located and hikes are possible immediately from the house. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was terrific, prepared with love. Even the dog was allowed into one of the two restaurants. The rooms and the sauna area were very clean. There were even towels for the sauna guests. We will be back definitely.

We needed a little break and we got it. The service was extremely polite and courteous. The drinks and food were excellent - requests were catered for. The breakfast is lovingly prepared and varied. The surroundings and the view are a dream for peace and sporting activities. Unfortunately we were horrified by the sauna area. Old, partly dirty, very cold and quite outdated. We went straight back after a sauna session. The room with newly renovated bathroom and balcony with a beautiful view. The rest is unfortunately very old-fashioned and carelessly furnished. Fridge in the middle of the room, plugged into a broken socket. It was ok since we were traveling a lot. We'll be back again to unwind, hike and eat delicious food.

Very rustic, in the end probably a matter of taste. Nothing was missing, but it didn't blow me away either. The fitness room didn't deserve the name, the sauna was ok. The food tasted good, but was quite expensive. The staff was great. Very friendly and helpful.
