Landhaus Knappmann in Essen

The best breakfast buffet I've ever had at the hotel! Rooms are very spacious and clean. Nice staff! I can only recommend it!!

We spontaneously ate at Landhaus Knappmann yesterday when we were ravenously hungry and we really enjoyed it. It was very cozy, the food was exactly what we had hoped for and the friendly service made the evening complete.

The hotel deserves high praise; we really enjoyed it. Large rooms, a very generous breakfast, and excellent service and dinner options. Keep up the good work and delight your guests. Best wishes to Essen/Kettwig.

Cozy, friendly, delicious. That's what it was like on previous visits, but unfortunately, since yesterday, I have to criticize the quality and preparation of the food. The starter was great, the main course was inedible, the rum steak was cooked way off, the tendons were very thick, and the steak was very fatty. The fries were very salty. The dessert was Kaiserschmarrn, dry and cold, and had no flavor. It's a shame, but everything else was as always. Great. I hope that was just an outlier.

The Hotel Knappmann is highly recommended in every respect. Everyone was very friendly, the room was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The dinner at the hotel was also very good, and the service impeccable!... The breakfast also leaves nothing to be desired. Unfortunately, we forgot something in the room, but were informed immediately and were able to return. The hotel is highly recommended and therefore receives 6 out of 5 stars from us.

I am often a customer at restaurants and hotels for both personal and business purposes. We hold complete events on site twice a year and accommodate many business partners in the hotel. Everything is always TOP and the feedback is consistently more than positive. The rooms in the hotel are lovingly furnished, clean and leave nothing to be desired. The breakfast is really great and can only be recommended. Fresh rolls, fish, salads... There is everything your heart desires and intolerances are also taken into account. The service in the restaurant is always friendly and courteous. Special and change requests are never a problem and are implemented. Despite the hustle and bustle and the full house, we were always served quickly and well. Two thumbs up for such a nice and competent team. The owner is always on site and has always looked after us with love. He is truly unique and passionate about what he does in his hotel and restaurant. You notice this in every corner and it contributes to the pleasant atmosphere. Keep it up – we’ll keep coming back!!!!

This evening the five of us ate here for the first time. We can't say anything about the hotel as we were only guests in the restaurant. There was also a Bavarian menu on the menu when we visited, as there is currently... Oktoberfest is in full swing. The waiter was very friendly, quick and attentive. Changes and allergen inquiries were well received and answered quickly. Everything tasted wonderful😋 The atmosphere is rustic and cozy and the restaurant was very well attended. We'll definitely be back soon 😀

I'm reviewing the gastronomy here, not the hotel. A warm greeting to the pandemic-hit kitchen. The three types of Matjes and the Matjes housewife style today were great. But also the service. Hello. We spent one night at Landhaus Knappmann. From the telephone booking, to the warm welcome (a table of Ritter Sport to choose from 😁😁) to dinner. The salad with turkey strips was amazing, says my wife. I had the knuckle meat...world class!!! Breakfast the next morning was as great as dinner. Overall, unique and only recommended. LG to the whole team 🙏😉 We've been in the house several more times now. There is nothing negative to write about. Thank you for the always great service.

After a long day of hiking, we as a group of 7 people received a warm welcome and were very pleasantly surprised by the entire house and staff. The rooms offer a generous amount of space and are in good, mostly renovated condition. The menu offers something for everyone, from salad to herring, cordon bleu and excellently prepared knuckles. Our group was very enthusiastic because the price-performance ratio was absolutely right. The attentive and very friendly staff made our stay in the restaurant a very pleasant evening. Happy to come again...!

We stayed at the Knappmann country house for a long weekend. We were completely satisfied. Very good rooms, great breakfast, good location. But I would particularly like to highlight the team! You're doing a great job! Thank you!

We spent a long afternoon/evening here. The service was very attentive until the end. Individual wishes were also taken into account with the very tasty food. The location on the street was less disruptive than feared. A place to return!

Come in and feel good!!!!! ... that's how we felt when we were there to plan a meeting. Starting in the morning with the more than lavish breakfast offering until the evening... delicious food. On our weekend the guest room was very full because of the Champions L final. Nevertheless, friendly staff throughout... We are happy to recommend the Hotel Landhaus Knappmann.

We were there as part of a bike tour. The reception was great. There was a welcome drink and nice rooms. In the evening we had a very tasty meal there. The breakfast was a hit. There was everything you could imagine. We have never had a breakfast buffet like this and we travel a lot. Simply great

There were four of us there for dinner today, the menu was significantly reduced compared to the menu on the notice board or on the internet. The chef must have had a bad day. Fries and schnitzel were totally over salted, only after complaining three times did they at least receive an apology. We won't come here again.

Important: I'm only reviewing the restaurant, I haven't been a hotel guest yet. We are regular guests at Landhaus Knappmann for dinner. So far we have always been very enthusiastic. The menu offers a great selection that everyone can find their way around. Price-performance fits. The portions are generous and the dishes are tasty. The staff is very warm and friendly. In summer you can sit outside well. Card payment is possible and there are enough parking spaces available.

An all-round pleasant stay. - Rooms clean and comfortable - Excellent dinner in the restaurant - Breakfast a highlight (I haven't had such a selection for a long time). Hotel is absolutely recommended, not just because of the price-performance ratio! I'd love to come back when I'm in the area.

Very nice hotel, ideally located for an overnight stay on the Ruhr Valley cycle path. Reachable by bike in less than 5 minutes from the Ruhrtalradweg. Good, rich breakfast buffet with a large selection.

I only had food, but it tasted great and the service is really on the ball and enjoys its work!

I'm in Essen on business and spontaneously looked for a room and found it here. Very nice furnishings and a well-equipped bathroom. There is also a large free parking lot. You can hardly hear anything in the room from the nearby airport as long as the windows are closed. I will definitely come back !

If the WiFi and the TV work again, there will be 5 stars ;)

Very good food in a very cozy atmosphere!!

A beautiful, small hotel with friendly staff and free parking. Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable, but unfortunately a bit noisy. But overall we felt really comfortable. The breakfast was extremely lovingly prepared and of great variety. We would be happy to come back here at any time.
