Landgasthof Karolinenhöhe in Lichtenfels

Wir haben spontan zu zweit Mittag gegessen, Platz auf der Terrasse. Service, Essen 👍

Wir waren seit längerem einmal wieder hier zum Essen. Plätze im Freien sind in Ordnung, Tische und Stühle sauber. Wir bestellten: 2xSpargelcremesuppe, Rehbraten, Gänsebrust. Zusammen (mit 2 Bier) 68€ Suppe war ok, gut gewürzt. Lieblos angerichtet. Rehbraten, geschmacklich in Ordnung (2 Scheiben Fleisch, 2 Klöße, Rotkohl), angerichtet wie in einer Kantine Gänsebrust (2 schmale Stücke Brust, eines trocken, an einer Seite leicht angebrannt, 2 Klöße , Wirsing), auch lieblos angerichtet, das Fleisch war gerade so lauwarm, der Wirsing geschmacklich wirklich nicht gut. Wir waren zu zweit und bekamen unseren Hauptgang zeitversetzt, so dass einer von uns schon fast fertig war. Wenn man in der Region öfters gut essen geht, so ist man hier schon sehr enttäuscht, wie das Essen „präsentiert“ wird - beim Anrichten ist man gefühlt einfach in den 90ern stehen geblieben. Das mag viele nicht stören, aber wenn es dann geschmacklich eher auch beim unteren Mittelmaß angesiedelt ist wird man zukünftig lieber wieder in andere Wirtschaften ausweichen. Der Service war in Ordnung, als unsere Getränke leer waren, wurden wir nach gut 15min gefragt ob wir noch etwas möchten. Alles in allem schade, da der Aussenbereich eigentlich schön ist.

Schöner großer Parkplatz. Sowohl im Biergarten als auch innen gibt es viele Plätze. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen war schnell da und sehr lecker.

Auszeit zum Genießen! Wunderschöne Zimmer, liebevoll und hochwertig eingerichtet und super sauber! Tolles hochwertiges Frühstück für einen guten Start in den Tag und Abends sehr leckeres Essen mit großer Auswahl. Freundliches Personal, super Service, hier bleiben keine Wünsche offen. Vielen Dank für die schönen Tage, wir kommen gerne wieder.

Sehr gutes Essen, freundliche Bedienung

Ein wunderschönes Lokal in ein traumhaft schönen Lage. Super nette Leute und das Essen ist dort immer unglaublich lecker. Es hat bei uns den liebevollen Spitznamen "Kalorienhöhe" :-) Meine Familie hatte hier vor kurzem eine Feierlichkeit, zu der wir im Vorfeld sehr gut beraten wurden. Das Fest war dann auch rundum klasse. Ich kann die Karolinenhöhe absolut weiterempfehlen!

Ich erinnere mich früher einmal da gewesen zu sein. Es liegt traumhaft. Gestern allerdings große Enttäuschung: Es war zu - obwohl laut Google geöffnet und nirgendwo ein Schild mit echten Öffnungszeiten zu finden. Bitte schaut, dass dieÖffnungszeiten richtig im Netz stehen. Bei der geringen Wirtshausdichte ist man ziemlich verzweifelt, wenn man nach Wanderung durch klirrende Kälte vor verschlossenen Türen steht.

Zimmer kann ich nicht beurteilen da wir nur zum Essen vor Ort waren, aber was wir erlebten an Service, Ambiente und Speisen war definitiv 5 Sterne wert.

Waren dort zur Weihnachtsfeier, Service war sehr freundlich und flink.

November 2025 A very nice inn with rooms of various sizes. Very good food. The service is efficient and very friendly. The only thing missing for company events is a screen and a projector. Otherwise, top-notch.

Everything is great here, but the toilet paper is an outrage. If we lived by the Hoss and Hopf podcast, this place would have NO guests because they don't respect my backside and therefore have no respect for me either.

Also found by chance. And you can't complain about the price or what's on the plate. We paid less than €60 for two people for a main course, dessert, and four drinks (including alcohol), and every bite was worth every cent. It was truly delicious! We can't speak for the rooms, but it's such a lovely, quiet place to stay. It's not really suitable for children, who would probably prefer the playground, but we'd take our daughter's scooter with us so she can zoom around without worrying about disturbing the other guests.

Great food and quick and friendly service

The rooms are fantastic! Modern, with everything you need. Plenty of space and storage. Even a makeup mirror. The large, enclosed balcony offers a view of the greenery. The breakfast and food are highly recommended. Sure, it's a bit out of the way, but it's nice and quiet.

I really enjoy being a guest at the Landgasthof Karolinenhöhe. The owner family, the service staff and the kitchen staff are always friendly, people-oriented and have a wonderful sense of humor. I have never been disappointed with the food - whether it was roulade with dumplings or a fresh salad plate. The highlight for me, however, are the “Franconian Rifferla” - simply delicious! There are always suitable drink recommendations. Perfect! I will definitely come back.

Hello everyone, The fact that in 8 years as a dog owner of animal shelter dogs or dogs from the killing station I have never experienced dogs not being allowed into a restaurant is one thing. But then being rudely spoken to in an absolutely indiscreet and brisk manner by a completely overloaded waitress is another matter. By the way, this is the first bad review I've had to write in my entire life. It couldn't be more unfriendly. Even if I know that my future absence won't bother you at all, I'm putting your restaurant on my red list. And further… there is not a single vegan option. Except... who would have thought... fries.

Very quiet and yet not too far from many beautiful things. We went for a stroll in Bamberg. The city tour with the old bus is also recommended. We relaxed in the Main Therme. We ate here in the inn. It was absolutely delicious for us. The owners and employees were warm and attentive. We'll be back. Thank you for everything

Regular guests at Karolinenhöhe for many years with all birthday parties and family celebrations. The excellent food is second to none. Since we love game, we are always particularly enthusiastic about the roast venison and the goose breast.

I can highly recommend this place.

Vor einigen Jahren waren wir schonmal hier, und es war unvergessen. Jetzt gab es mal wieder die Gelegenheit. Alles wieder überragend, Gänsebrust mit Wirsing und Klößen als auch der Sauerbraten. Und das zu zivilen Preisen. Der sehr freundliche Service und der Parkplatz direkt vor der Tür machen den AUfenthalt perfekt.

Ate a Martini goose for lunch this afternoon. Very, very well seasoned and very well fried. The staff attentive and friendly. This inn deserves 5 stars and is recommended.

Great ambience and good Franconian cuisine

The country inn is in a very good location with sufficient parking facilities. The food was excellent. A worthwhile excursion destination, also for the whole family. There is a lot of space, the guest room is nice and spacious. Nice, friendly staff even when the "hut" is full. ;-)

We only ate, didn't spend the night. The food was very tasty. The service was friendly. Rustic tavern atmosphere. The prices are acceptable. Everything so clean. The farm is a few kilometers outside Lichtenfels. Not much can be done on foot, apart from going for a walk.

Well organized to handle even the big rush on the weekend

We couples from the WW were passing through today and discovered this gem, somewhat hidden behind the trees, but still visible from the road passing by and also marked with signs. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and accommodated "properly" even without a reservation. Large rooms, beautiful beer garden, very tasty food, friendly, knowledgeable staff. All in all worth 5 stars. Gladly again!

A good middle-class inn that also offers a lot for celebrations. We eat here every now and then and are always very satisfied with the quality of the food and the service. However, the vegetarian selection of hot dishes is quite limited. You don't always want to eat only cheese spaetzle.

Das Essen war gut. Die Bedienung hervorragend und sehr aufmerksam. Ich finde die Nebenräume etwas steril. Der "alte" Teil des Gasthofs hat einfach mehr Atmosphäre. Die Abzüge beim Essen sind minimal. Das Schäuferla war ziemlich dunkel geraten. Im ersten Augenblick dachte ich es wäre verbrannt. War aber einwandfrei. Der optische Eindruck hatte getäuscht. Das ist sicherlich auch der Zeit geschuldet. Wir waren gegen 13:30 Uhr dort. Es hätte allgemein etwas mehr Soße sein dürfen. Ich bin mir aber sicher wir hätten welche bekommen wenn wir nachgefragt hätten.

Very nice atmosphere, especially in the winter garden it's great to sit. The location is great, high above the Main Valley. Good home cooking, solid craftsmanship in the kitchen, tasty and generous portions. Very nice, efficient and attentive service staff. We were guests at a christening party and were very satisfied.

Great atmosphere, very cozy, friendly and brightly decorated. A nice menu with lots of delicacies at reasonable prices. The salad was simply a poem and the food was very plentiful. There is a large free parking lot directly in front of the building.

Kürzlich war ich nach einem Weihnachtsmarkt Ausflug mit einer kleinen Reisegruppe zum Abendessen in der Karolinenhöhe eingekehrt. Der Tisch war sehr schön gedeckt. Die bestellten Speissen und Getränke wurden sehr schnell serviert. Der Service war hervorragend. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Wieder mal im Zuge einer Weihnachtsfeier besucht und es war wieder einmal alles top! Sehr leckeres Essen und super fixer Service. Freundlich Gastgeber und schönes Ambiente. Jederzeit gerne wieder.

Wen es hier nicht schmeckt leidet unter Geschmacksverirrung! Großes Lob an die Küche. Das Ambiente ist aufgrund der verschiedenen Räumlichkeiten sehr unterschiedlich. Im großen Saal ist es nicht immer gemütlich. Der Lärmpegel ist bei entsprechender Auslastung manchmal mehr als erträglich. Daran ändern auch die mobilen Stellwände nichts. Anders sieht es aus wenn man im Wintergarten oder in der Gaststube einen Platz bekommt. Aufgrund der hervorragende Küche ist meist viel los.

Landschaftlich schön gelegener, großer Landgasthof mit sehr netter Bedienung und einer großen gutbürgerlichen Speisenauswahl zu moderaten Preisen. Gerne wieder.

Schöner Landgasthof auf einer Anhöhe mitten in der Natur nahe der Stadt Lichtenfels gelegen. Die Speisen sind vorzüglich.
