Lades Holzkohlegrill in Hamburg

We were in Hamburg for a short break, and as is often the case, we got hungry after the evening's festivities. We had two sensational dürüms, which I would gladly return for. The service was excellent – ​​super friendly and attentive, even late at night. Highly recommended!

Hi! The place is really satisfying overall, as is the friendly staff. The food is very tasty and greasy. The ambiance could be improved a bit. Definitely recommended!

I'm describing my experience from 6:05 PM to 6:50 PM on October 31, 2025: Arrived at 6:05 PM, friendly service, ordered food immediately, waited 45 minutes, and received the wrong food. I like restaurants, but the wait without any updates and the wrong food are unacceptable. At least I didn't have to pay for my drink. Therefore, 1 star for ambiance and service, and 1 star for generosity.

We ordered two half chickens with rice. The chicken was extremely dry, so we asked for two sauces. We were charged €7.50 for a small bowl of ezme and cacık. For €7.50 you can get a doner kebab with both sauces. This is pure robbery and disrespectful. I will never eat there again in my life and recommend the same to everyone else.

Unfortunately, the doner kebab plate wasn't quite to my taste this time, and I found the portion a bit small for the price. I've had a better impression in the past, so I wouldn't go back at the moment.

We took the döner plate, the meat was raw, the place is nice, the employee was attentive but the chefs of this place are not good.

We had seen some videos on TikTok of the all-you-can-eat buffet at Lades and were eager to try it. We found out on the spot that this offer is unfortunately no longer available – only the videos are still circulating. Nevertheless, we decided to have breakfast there, and it was truly incredibly delicious! 😍 The selection was so extensive that it almost felt like an all-you-can-eat buffet. Everything was fresh, lovingly prepared, and delicious. We especially loved that our son got an extra plate even though we only ordered the menu for two – that shows true hospitality. 💛 An all-around lovely visit – we'll definitely be back!

The dürüm was one of the worst I've ever eaten. It tasted nothing like a doner kebab or a durum kebab. The meat was fatty, full of gristle, and absolutely tasteless. The dough of the yufka wasn't cooked through, very sloppy and tough; similar to raw bread dough. The sauces also tasted bad and simply didn't suit a doner kebab. Hardly any doner kebab tastes as good as a Berlin doner kebab, but this one was abysmally bad.

If I'd gone to the restroom before ordering, I wouldn't have ordered anything here, but would have set a new record in the 100m dash. Disgusting... I don't need to say anything more about how the food and service were...

Super delicious Turkish food with a wide selection. It's freshly prepared and tastes great. The service was fast and super friendly. What's especially cool is that you can watch the grilling if you like. The prices are a bit higher, but absolutely fine for the quality. We'll definitely be back!

Top quality and exquisite, authentic flavor, as well as extremely friendly and prompt service, characterize this restaurant and snack bar. All dishes are also available to takeaway. Pide is freshly homemade. Great location. We'd be happy to return!

The food was delicious, but the service was nonexistent. This was largely due to the fact that there was only one server, who was initially friendly but later became noticeably stressed and at times rude. Much later, another server joined us when the place was almost empty. The food was delicious, though; the restaurant was nicely decorated, but brightly lit, making it rather uncomfortable. The prices were very fair. Alcoholic beverages are not available. Bottom line: you can do it, but you don't have to. This will be our only visit.

Unfortunately, very disappointing 😕 By 7:30 PM, there was no more kebab meat left. But it wasn't even mentioned until after we'd already had to wait 15 minutes to order.

During our little weekend trip with the girls, we came here for breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was super nice, the service and employees were super attentive and friendly, and the breakfast was soooo delicious. We haven't found a restaurant that offers Serpme Kahvalti in a really long time, and we'll definitely stop by here next time we come to Hamburg.

We were there for dinner today. It was okay, nothing special. And the Turkish guests were given preferential treatment. We had to wait a long time and only got tea after the meal. The others also got it before. Cleanliness was okay.

My wife ordered a children's menu kebab plate, and I ordered a portion of lamb. I paid €22 for this supposed portion, and she paid €9 (for the children's menu). When the food arrived, I was truly disappointed. My girlfriend had twice the amount of food (for the children's menu). I just want to expose such audacity. I won't be going back to that place!!

Deliciously grilled, tender lamb in a yogurt and eggplant sauce. Served with plenty of salad and flatbread, as well as two sauces: spicy tomato sauce and yogurt dip.

I simply waited an incredibly long time for the food. The food had been sitting around the whole time but wasn't brought. Then the kebab was open all around, and there was so much sauce that the wrapper was completely soaked and it all ran into my hand. Including one of the worst kebabs I've ever eaten.

We were there for breakfast. It's okay, nothing you can't get elsewhere.

During our visit, the place was almost completely empty, but it still took about 20 minutes for our order to be taken, as the waiters didn't want to interrupt their conversation. The food (very simple dishes, nothing elaborate) took another 45 minutes to arrive. Afterwards, we were repeatedly offered tea, which we declined several times, but finally got it and were asked to pay. Card payment was initially denied and only accepted after a long discussion.

Food: Unfortunately, the meat wasn't cooked properly and the taste wasn't anything special, but the salad was fresh. Service: The waiter was very nice, and we even got tea to start. Atmosphere: Looked okay. Not recommended because of the poor quality of the meat.

Terrible desserts, all the same type and ordinary biscuits... that's the case when they bet on beauty, but forgot about taste. I don't recommend this establishment!!!

Today we had Iftar dinner. We went without a reservation and were given a very warm welcome. The service was very quick and excellent. The food was first-class. The portions were generous, and despite the rush and the crowded place, the waiters were very friendly. We got the last seat. We'd definitely recommend it; we'll be coming back for Iftar more often during Ramadan. Thank you for the friendly service from the staff, as well as from the manager himself.

Last night around 11:00 PM, we went for something to eat with our guest from Denmark and were very disappointed. They had no bread left, so they brought a döner wrap. Inside the wrap, there were a few dried out pieces, and I ate it with great care, trying not to break my teeth. It was a döner wrap, but it was filled with tzatziki and salad, which is a testament to what you call a döner. I even complained to the waiter. I'm sorry to say, I won't be giving high marks. I hope they show more care from now on. Just for your information.

Unfortunately, I've never eaten so badly. We were there with our family, six people. No one ate at the same time; the entire meal was cold, burnt, and inedible. The salad was just lamb's lettuce with a bit of sauce; they apparently didn't have enough money for tomatoes and cucumbers. I've never eaten so badly in all of Hamburg; I absolutely don't recommend it.

We ordered a grilled plate for two people, which was unfortunately much too small. Only after a closer look did we notice that the Pirzola cheese was missing—something that shouldn't happen in a restaurant. You should also allow plenty of time for this meal: the waiter took a very long time to serve dessert, and we also had to wait an unusually long time for the bill. Overall, a disappointing experience.

Hello everyone, Please avoid this place. The Lades restaurant used to be very nice and inviting. Unfortunately, nothing remains of it today. Furthermore, it's a disgrace that you can't eat a doner kebab in a sandwich or as a roll. The staff was very unfriendly and not particularly customer-oriented. We won't be visiting the place again for the time being and are deeply disappointed.

Highly recommended...if we could, we'd even give it more than 5 stars. Super friendly staff and amazing food!

Portions could be bigger for the price, but the food was really good

Recently visited Hamburg and stayed in the surrounding area for vacation. Visited Lades 3 times during the course of a week! The food was simply divine. The staff were warm and even recognised us by the 2nd visit. We had dinner twice and had their breakfast menu also. Everything was perfect. So happy I discovered this gem. Wish them the very best.

A very good value for the money place and quality. I do not remember the names of the dishes we ordered, but they were all very good. The portions are very large so me and my partner could probably split my mixed meat dish, however it was amazing, i would be happy for some sauce on the mixed meat dish too so that there would not only be dry things on it. But i had hummus as a side order so it worked out well. The kebab meat could be a little more spices in, i felt it lacked some of the middle eastern flavours. Lamb chop and chicken was amazing tho. All in all i would strongly recommend this place. and happily come back.

Visitor from Berlin. I visit Hamburg two or three times a year, and I always come here. Be it for breakfast or dinner. The servers are excellent, and the quality of the food hasn't declined over the years. The prices are moderate and acceptable. I'm always happy to come back.

Service was very poor. No greeting, nothing. You walk in, and the kitchen staff stares at you with a question mark. The food for two people arrived at the table after 30 minutes. Perhaps it's produced in the neighborhood and takes a while to deliver to the table. We'll never make that mistake again. We regret going there.

The Tavuk Dürüm tasted absolutely nothing; the meat was oddly seasoned with curry. The Ayran glass was dirty, and the plate was dirty.

Very friendly, impeccable service, delicious food, and a Turkish tea to finish off the meal. The staff went to the trouble of clarifying the contents of the tea (there was a language issue). We were very surprised – it contained dried cloves as a spice, which tasted delicious. We would love to come back.

I sat at a large table at the end of the restaurant because 80-90% of the seats were still free. Nevertheless, I was asked to move to a smaller table. The mixed grill was the smallest I've ever had. Charging €26 for it is bordering on outrageous. The quality was still okay, but nothing more.

I bought a dürüm with yaprak meat, but unfortunately, the meat smelled of sheep (stale) and contained a lot of cartilage. Otherwise, a good portion for €10. I personally wouldn't buy it again.

Completely addicted for a month now! I don't know what happened at Lades – but this kebab has been tasting INCREDIBLY good for a few weeks now. I literally dragged half my family and all my friends there – everyone said the same thing: "We haven't had anything like this in a long time!" I'll be honest: My entire monthly budget is almost gone just because I have to eat there all the time 😅 Whether in bread, on a plate, or as a dürüm – it's simply perfectly seasoned, fresh, and juicy. Thanks to the team – please don't change anything! ❤️🔥

On February 15, 2020, we (a colleague and I) visited the restaurant with the intention of ordering and eating right away. We were then told to find a seat, even though we actually wanted to order immediately. We did so and sat down to wait for service. Unfortunately, we observed that guests who entered the restaurant after us and also sat down were served before us. Despite our wait, we continued to be ignored while other guests who arrived after us were served. The discrepancy between the instruction to sit down and the subsequent ignoring of our presence while newer guests were served was irritating and disappointing for us. We had been very much looking forward to the food, but felt ignored as guests, which resulted in an unsatisfactory visit.

Great place! I'm really surprised. I saw the Lades restaurant in the NDR documentary and then tried it out, and there's no reason to complain! :) Price-performance ratio - super good and super fair. See you soon! :)

Upon the recommendation and invitation of a friend, we went to the place for the first time. It is unique in Germany. I will never forget the Turkish style döner, sourdough breads, especially the owner of the place, Mr. Vural, and his wonderful conversation. I strongly recommend it to everyone. If you are ever in Hamburg, try the famous döner and other kebab varieties, but rather meet and chat with my brother Vural. I am glad I went to Lades. I am glad I got to know the owner, Mr. Vural, and the staff. Thank you for everything.

The food was truly delicious – especially from the grill, just as you'd expect. The service was the highlight, though: Murat, our waiter, was super friendly and attentive, yet never intrusive. I was undecided about dessert at first, but Murat recommended just the right thing – and it was really good. ;) The atmosphere in the restaurant was overall very warm and relaxed – we'd love to come back!
