La Piazza - Pizza Pasta Café in Darmstadt

Had brunch there. There is a great, quiet atmosphere. The selection at the breakfast buffet was ok. Warm (lunch) meals were added from 11:30 a.m. It was super tasty and I think there is something for everyone 😊 The staff is really great and lovely! I think it's really good value for money.

There are gluten-free options, which surprised me positively The pinsa was simply excellent, but the pastry was not that special, I wouldn't recommend the pastry menu. Desserts were also good and generous portions. The waiter who served me (a very strong/fit man) was super friendly and supportive throughout the evening. I really liked his service, which is very rare in Germany itself. Overall, I highly recommend the place. Note: The water in the bathroom only comes out cold, which doesn't make for a good experience in winter.

A failure from start to finish. The fries were completely oversalted, the pizza dough was unbalanced in seasoning and the topping was slightly oily. The so-called garlic oil was watery and tasteless. Blunt knives from a tin can? Just cheap. The store smelled unpleasantly of sewage. Pay extra to wrap the huge pizza just to get aluminum foil? Cheeky. The whole thing ended with a stomach ache – never again!

Super great restaurant, simply great ambience, cozy, you immediately feel at home. The service staff are all super nice and try to find a solution even if you don't have a reservation. The food comes quickly and is beautifully served, there are even gluten-free dishes on the menu that are super tasty 😊 there is nothing to complain about here. Everything was great 👌🏻rarely experienced like this❤️

Visited Darmstadt today at 6 p.m. Since there was no one at the entrance, we looked for a place and waited a while for the service. We were then immediately expelled from the place because there were two of us and not four, even though it felt like 90% of the store was empty. I didn't think it was necessary, but it was still OK. The food, on the other hand, was very disappointing and overpriced. 21 euros for salmon with rosemary potatoes and vegetables. Salmon extremely dry, slightly oversalted - you had to chew a piece several times to eat it. Rosemary potatoes were maybe 2 small potatoes. Tasted very floury and not particularly good on the outside. Vegetables.... 1 half an elongated pepper.... 21 euros. Neither the quantity nor the quality was right and 100% didn't fit the ambience. Not so much annoyance but a huge disappointment with the kitchen. With good will my feedback: step up ur game. Some of the staff spent more time fooling around than doing their job. My first negative review for a restaurant. I hadn't eaten anything that day and yet I didn't particularly feel like finishing my plate. Really a shame. Visually it's a nice shop and the lady who served us was very friendly and attentive

What do you think of this cocktail? There's nothing wrong with the taste, but is it really normal for it to look like that? The basil was completely wilted and didn't look fresh. When you order something, you expect not only good taste, but also an attractive presentation.

Very friendly, attentive and professional service. Super delicious food with good lifestyle gastronomy. We were also allowed to bring our dog with us. Anyone who has allergies will be absolutely happy here; whether pizza/pasta, meat/fish, salad... Thank you very much, we would love to come back!

Service was good, ambience is great. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. We ordered pasta, twice with truffle, once Bolognese and once chicken & mushrooms. All portions were rather small. Truffle was sparse and not entirely convincing in taste. And in the chicken & mushroom noodles there was exactly one piece of mushroom, nothing more.

I've been there twice now and unfortunately I just don't think the food there is good.

My wife and I occasionally go to "La Piazza" for lunch on Fridays (11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.). The food is absolutely fine and very tasty. So far we have only received a pizza once, which left something to be desired. The service is quick, very friendly and the food is served in a reasonable time frame. The picture shows a pizza burrata from December 20th, 2024, which tasted very good. The side salad, which we ordered separately, was also really exceptionally good. In our opinion, the prices are just within the range. For a “normal” lunch (pizza or pasta), a soft drink and a cappuccino afterwards you have to expect around €25-30.

They deserve 0 stars. I asked for gluten-free pasta because I am celiac and after eating it, they tell me they made a mistake and it is not gluten-free. Avoid it if you have any intolerance or allergies.

Unfortunately, I have had several bad experiences with this pizzeria. If you sit down inside, you often wait 20 minutes for the waitress to come - and unfortunately they are very unfriendly and unprofessional. The food arrives after an hour and is still cold. If you sit outside, the waitress completely ignores you, even though they can clearly see the guests. After these experiences I will definitely avoid La Piazza!

Mir gefällt die Atmosphäre, die Bedinung ist sehr freundlich. Die Pasta Gerichte waren immer sehr lecker und sehr üppig. Heute war ich mit meinen Freunden da, da war die Pasta nur noch halb so groß wie bisher, und wurde entsprechend auf viel kleineren Tellern serviert. Auch so kann man die Preise (verdeckt) verdoppeln! Sehr schade!

We went to La Piazza on Saturday evening for a bite to eat and a drink. The service itself was super friendly. However, there was a problem with our food. One of the things we ordered was caprese (listed with burrata on the menu). When we were served mini mozzarella we complained about the whole thing. A friendly waiter came to us to find a suitable solution and we reached an agreement. A few minutes later, the operations manager came to us and told us that he had noticed that a solution had been found but that he “didn’t feel like discussing it with him”. As he continued, he portrayed his employees as incompetent and in the end came to the same solution that we had already discussed with the friendly waiter. We found the whole thing very unprofessional, talking so badly about employees and coming to us again even though the whole thing had already been clarified.

I ordered a Tartufo pizza and got a tasteless pizza on which you had to look for the truffle. And that for 19€. Definitely not a recommendation, more of an impertinence!

Ate with your partner. She had a salad with goat cheese and I, as usual, had a pinsa. Let's start with the scenario. Stopped in for lunch on Saturday. The service was prompt and extremely friendly (top rating). The food was very tasty, the pinsa was very tasty. So the price-performance ratio is absolutely OK. We all know that eating out has become expensive; That's why I think it's even more important that you leave the restaurant satisfied after receiving your bill. The ambience, modern and very nice. However, I make a deduction because of the air conditioning. We found it fresh and would have found it 2 to 3 °C more pleasant. I know that it takes an immense amount of energy to heat such a large room to the desired temperature, just saying.. Otherwise, let's keep it short: Very clear recommendation when it comes to food and service. We'd love to come back. Best regards.

Yesterday we were spontaneously looking for a restaurant with gluten-free dishes. We came across LaPiazza and were more than happy. Super tasty gluten-free pizzas (11/10), super friendly service (12/10) and very tasty homemade lemonades. The gluten-free pizzas are very large compared to those from other restaurants! Thank you for the lovely experience!

Perfect for people with no expectations. We had to wait a long time, which isn't a bad thing, but when the food is served cold it's embarrassing. The warm food we received after our complaint didn't blow us away either. But the beer was good 👍

Very nice and relaxed atmosphere. My lasagne was very tasty and seemed really freshly made.

Went to this restaurant for the first time today with friends (4 people). And what can I say? It was worth it. When we arrived the restaurant was full but the boss simply sat us in the lounge and said that he would make it possible for us to find a "pizza corner" and that we could wait here for as long. It actually took less than 10 minutes and, as we later found out, we were given a nice little table with a privacy screen in the employee area 😂 which we really liked. The best thing, however, was our highly motivated and funny waitress “Izmael”. We weren't an easy table... Izmael was constantly supposed to fulfill our new wishes, which he did with real confidence and always with a funny saying on his lips. Sometimes a fork, sometimes salt and pepper, getting a new table that doesn't wobble, parmesan cheese, a new drink... And I really have to say... that his boss is a really capable one with this service Has an employee who is ready to fulfill almost all customer requests 👌 Every restaurant should have such an employee. A guarantee for a repeat visit. Keep it up and then your boss could raise your hourly rate. Oh yes, by the way, the food was at the table quickly and very tasty... I might as well mention it 😁🥂

The pizza could have been warmer. I found the dough too tough. According to Diavola, the topping was very well seasoned and tasty. The pizzaria deserves another chance.

We went for a walk last night and spontaneously decided to quench our thirst for a moment. The place we ended up at was really cozy and welcoming. I would particularly like to highlight the waiter Ismail who served us. He was incredibly friendly, attentive and helpful. Even though we just wanted to stop in for a quick drink, we immediately felt welcome and very well looked after. His positive charisma and excellent service rounded off our evening perfectly. We'll definitely be back!

The waitress didn't understand that the O juice for my little daughter shouldn't be cold. The pizza veggi was good. The tomato sauce and ingredients were delicious. Unfortunately the dough base was rock hard. Either it's been in the oven too long (not much going on on the terrace) or it's because of the German flour, which is different from the Italian, but also from the Croatian (the best pizzas ever!) and even from the Polish. Unfortunately it tasted like crispbread! There are 4 stars for that

Very long waiting time...the restaurant wasn't full...4 waitresses...weren't able to bring my husband his cola and coffee...I had already finished my latte macchiatto...then we called them Service that we now want to pay and no longer want the coke and coffee...it still wasn't there...the service got really rude...no excuse for the long wait...about 10 minutes.. .no tip given...and we definitely won't go there again

Were visiting Darmstadt. Beautiful day. Wanted to eat salad... I think this store is making a mistake. Ordered 2 salads. Approximately 20 people on the terrace: Conclusion: upon request, we received our salads after 43 minutes of ordering... Unfortunately, my companion's chicken died a second time in the pan - I had ordered a salad WITHOUT tuna... Unfortunately it arrived with the dead fish from the can… so back to the kitchen…. My companion was almost finished eating when my salad arrived. When I asked for salt and pepper: the waitress first lit a cigarette... I then got myself some salt and pepper... well in my opinion... No store to recommend. Actually, one more star has been raised!!!!!

Der Pinsa Teig hat es aus Italien nicht geschafft? Na gut. Dann eben Pizza. Die war aber auch sehr gut: 5 Käse - allerdings ohne Tomatensauce. Das nächste Mal würde ich um ein wenig frischen, gehackten Basilikum bitten. Service war sehr freundlich, aber wieder leicht unterbesetzt.

After ordering 9 dishes from the restaurant over the phone to pick up on July 27th, 2024, I had a frightening experience with La Piazza Darmstadt and will definitely avoid the restaurant in the future. At an event, I let my colleagues choose dishes via Lieferando's website with a budget per person of up to €20 and ordered them by phone because Lieferando's homepage was unresponsive. When I picked it up, I noticed a difference in the amount (approx. 18-20€) compared to the Lieferando page and asked the waiter about it, who directed me to send an email to the management/entrepreneur. I did this on Monday 07/29/24, until today (08/03/24 no response has been received) but and I think that's the biggest impudence, the prices on the Lieferando homepage were raised directly the following day (07/30/24). You could have at least sent a short email with an explanation out of friendliness and to ensure customer satisfaction and the guest's return. Instead, act as if nothing had happened and quickly increase the prices on Lieferando. This shows the professional nature of the management 👍🏻 Certainly no more visiting or ordering from La Piazza Darmstadt in the future.

It's bad enough that something like this has to be mentioned these days, but the service here was top. It started with the table reservation over the phone; Ismael was friendly, attentive and funny. The young lady who served us at the table was also friendly, gave us advice, answered all our questions patiently and accepted our special requests in a relaxed manner. Absolutely recommended, great team, delicious food, I will come here again!

The food and the staff are really great and I can really recommend the pizza. The drinks are MEGA, especially the lemonades. The music isn't really my thing, but everyone has their own opinion. So actually you can only recommend the restaurant!

Recently I visited a restaurant and would like to share my experience. The service was quick, the food came straight away without having to wait long. The waiter took the order quickly and the fish was served quickly too, which pleasantly surprised me. The dish was delicious: salmon, fried potato slices and vegetables were cooked to perfection. I particularly enjoyed the eggplant and zucchini. However, the drink left me a little disappointed. There was too much ice in it, making the volume less than expected. The ice remained even after drinking, giving the feeling that the drink was undersized. In the future I would like to use less ice to fully enjoy the drink. As for the price, all of this cost me 24 euros and 80 cents on July 17, 2024.

Food was very tasty. There was sufficient service, but we were often overlooked and had to draw attention to ourselves. Toilets are pretty run down and could be cleaner.

I like this place a lot. Mostly because they have a good environment and very yummy food and cocktails. Very recommended. Waiters/waitresses Unfortunately, gluten free pizza is not the best. Last time I ordered it got to me cold and not well cooked and somehow tasteless. Anyways, very recommended generally.

Very nice, large restaurant with delicious food and TOP service. Went to a company event there and were pampered to perfection. Mega appetizer platter, great pizzas and pastas and everything served quickly. Have and felt completely comfortable.

The pizza and pasta dishes on the menu are also available gluten-free for an additional charge. We decided on pizza and had no problems (having been diagnosed with celiac disease). The pizza was served uncut and was very juicy and tasty. Unfortunately, the drinks (Cola and Fanta) tasted a bit stale and there was almost no carbonation left. The service was very nice.

Food is terribly ordinary, the lasagna is very thin with no texture. Their risotto is not even authentic, it uses rice from other regions. Please don't visit this restaurant for the sake of your wallet, it's just not worth it.

Decent restaurant in the heart of Darmstadt. Food was tasty, service was quick and prices were reasonable. They have plenty of seating space inside as well as outside.

There were 5 of us there in the afternoon. The store wasn't full. The staff was totally disorganized and overwhelmed. Food looks good but that's about it. 2 pizzas arrived before the drinks were there for everyone. Cola was non-carbonated twice.

It was very cold in the whole place and felt like winter. Guests sat in it with jackets on. There was no soap in the toilets. The head waiter was very rude and insulting to the guests. But the food was really good. The waiting times for food and drinks were long. But the worst was really this head waiter. I had never experienced anything like that. Guests got up and left because of him. The cocktail just tasted disgusting, artificially sweet. This restaurant is really not recommended.

We were in the restaurant with three people on Monday April 15th, 2024 at around 10:15 p.m. As we were sitting there we saw several mice running back and forth between the kitchen and the dining room. I then went to a waitress and brought up the topic. In response I received the succinct statement, yes, we know that, it's normal here. I then said again that I didn't think the reaction or the situation with mice running around was appropriate, but nothing was done. I can definitely not recommend the restaurant.

Sunday brunch in a pleasant atmosphere All 4 of us were satisfied. The baby felt good too.

I came across a very tasty and creamy pasta from the seasonal menu, just the way I like it. Homemade lemonades are also very good. Overall I was pleased with the visit. The only not very pleasant impression was that at the very beginning I ordered pasta and dessert, but after finishing the pasta I realized that I couldn’t handle dessert and asked if it was possible not to bring it. They refused me, arguing that it was not possible to delete the order from the system. that is, it was not cooked and put on the plate, you simply cannot cancel it. In this case, I think it's stupid.

You don’t want to serve us because we are asian ??? Such a waste of time. Bad service in general!!!!!!

Hingegen vorläufiger Meinungen ist dies keine Systemgastronomie, sondern ein Darmstädter Gastronom, der sich hier engagiert und auch häufig persönlich vor Ort ist! Wir fanden die Pizza wirklich lecker (ja, in Italien aus dem Steinofen ist sicher was anderes, aber dafür gehe ich dort auch nicht hin) und den gemischten Salat, mit einem guten Dressing versehen, auch äußerst schmackhaft! Der Nachtisch (Pancake und Schokotörtchen) hat die Sache abgerundet. Die Räumlichkeiten gefallen mir eh gut: die große Halle wurde ansprechend gestaltet und hat ihren Charme! Zusammenfassend kann ich sagen, dass das Essen gut geschmeckt hat und ich einen schönen Abend hatte. Wer höchste italienische Küche erwartet, geht besser in die ausgezeichnete kleine Trattoria - findet dort dann aber auch andere Preise wieder..

I haven't eaten so badly in a long time. It took 30 minutes for the service to arrive. It took a long time for the food to arrive. The lasagna was completely inedible, burnt but still tasteless. One of the meals was brought incorrectly. Instead of the lasagna there was a vegetable lasagne. Inedible despite garlic oil. Service was friendly, but no structure.

I like coming here - whether for brunch or for a drink in the evening. The food is usually very tasty. I am now diagnosed with celiac disease (gluten allergy) and there is very tasty gluten-free pizza here. I know that eating out with gluten intolerance is very difficult, but I felt like I was in good hands here!! Note: the gluten-free dough is sometimes not supplied. It's best to call ahead and make sure there is some available.

Very very disappointing, the ambience and atmosphere didn't seem to be bad so we decided to give it a try. There were two of us, my colleague ordered a tagliatelle with turkey strips and mushrooms. She had asked if you could have the pasta without mushrooms and the waiter said that wouldn't be possible because the sauces are already ready, i.e. they are frozen ready-made sauces that are not freshly prepared. I ordered a pizza with Parma ham and rocket and the pizza was really very disappointing and honestly the worst pizza I've ever eaten, the ham was okay but the pizza dough was way too thin, way too hard, it wasn't crispy but just hard and without any taste, as if the dough were made frozen and without you tasting the wheat and fresh olive oil, as it normally should be with a good pizza. Really a disgrace for the price. When I was asked how the food was, I expressed my opinion openly and honestly and respectfully and was confronted with it as if I had no idea and that it was an original Italian Sicilian pizza, even though I came from Italy myself and couldn't recognize anyone there who was from Italy comes. The main thing is to slap an Italian name on it even though there is nothing original Italian about it.

Wenn man sich von vier Kollegen an einem Abend mitten in der Woche überreden lässt, in der Darmstädter City essen zu gehen, weiß man schon: das wird schwierig. Ab 19 Uhr sind in der brodelnden Metropole Südhessens die Bürgersteige hochgeklappt. City bedeutet natürlich auch, dass die ‚Systemgastronomie’ dominiert und echte, familiäre Restaurants die Ausnahme sind. Also wird man in dieses lauschige Plätzchen in der Größe einer Fabrikhalle geschleppt. Okay, modern möbliert, die Bedienung ist nett, also warum nicht? Man reicht zügig eine laminierte Speisekarte. Einen Punkt gibt es schon mal für den Gedanken der Nachhaltigkeit: falls man das Essen nicht komplett isst und mitnehmen möchte, wird die Verpackung dafür mit 1€ pro Gericht berechnet. Es ist ja auch wichtig, Verpackungen einzusparen, ganz im Sinne der Umwelt. Die Preise sind mittel bis moderat, auch da gibt es nichts auszusetzen. Ich hätte aber wohl meinem Instinkt vertrauen sollen… unter der Woche, Systemgastro, Innenstadt, schön möbliert… Also, in Kurzform: das Essen ist grauenhaft. Selbst ein amerikanischer Kollege, der auf „German Currywurst“ steht und vor keinem KFC zurückschreckt, hat die Pizza nur halb gegessen. Wir haben alle mal reihum probiert, weil keiner zufrieden war, es kam kein Neid auf. Im Detail: der Pizzaboden sieht auf dem Teller knusprig aus, ist es aber nicht. Der Belag ist nicht frisch sondern irgendein Convenience Food- Beutelinhalt. Die Spaghetti Carbonara waren pampig, versalzen, schmierig, ein kulinarisches Sakrileg. Subjektiv kamen wir überein, dass das alles schmeckte als wären es Fertiggerichte. War das TK-Pizza? Pastagerichte aus der Mikrowelle? Ich habe dafür keinen Beleg, nur den Geschmackssinn, und der sagt, dass das alles kulinarisch gar nicht geht. Wir haben übrigens ganz im Sinne der Umwelt nichts mitgenommen, obwohl keiner von uns aufgegessen hat. Gesamturteil; ungenügend, aber es gibt einen Punkt für die Bedienung, das Mobiliar und den Erfolg beim Einsparen von Verpackungen.

Food was very good, good gluten-free pizza available for a small additional charge. Unfortunately, ordering (possible according to the restaurant) is not available via Lieferando and the restaurant cannot be found via the app. Update: If you order again to pick up, there will be a few minutes waiting time, seating is provided and water is brought, very friendly and courteous service!
