Das Essen ist zwar nicht preiswert, aber von guter Qualität. Die Servicekraft Laura zeigte sich jedoch als äußerst unprofessionell. Ihr Verhalten war unfreundlich, und sie vermied es, direkten Blickkontakt mit den Gästen aufzunehmen oder höflich zu kommunizieren. Obwohl sie die Tochter des Hauses und somit nicht neu im Betrieb ist, scheint ihr das Prinzip "Der Kunde ist König" fremd zu sein. Im Gegensatz dazu ist ihre Mutter sehr zuvorkommend.

Absolut fantastisch! Wir haben im La Grotta eine Veranstaltung gefeiert und sind mehr als zufrieden! Von Anfang bis Ende war einfach alles perfekt. Der Service war super aufmerksam und herzlich, und das Essen ist sowieso eine absolute 10 von 10 – wir und unsere Gäste waren restlos begeistert. Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit unserem Besuch. Das Essen hat uns sowohl geschmacklich als auch hinsichtlich der Qualität überzeugt. Auch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis empfanden wir als sehr gut. Das Restaurant hat eine schöne, urige Atmosphäre, in der man sich direkt wohlfühlt. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der Service: Das Team war durchweg freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. So lecke Pizzen und Salate hatte ich noch bei einem bezahlbaren Italiener! Super lecker und fast zu große Portionen. Wirklich einen Besuch wert.

Nachtrag vom 06.03.2026: Preise trotz Senkung MWST am Anschlag, Pizza Mare 19 €, Coke Zero 0,33 l 4 € - rasant, wenn man bedenkt, dass auch die andere Schraube gedreht wurde und z. B. der Salat als Portion deutlich verringert wurde. Der Bezahlvorgang „mit Karte“ bei der neuen Chefin krönte den Besuch ☹️ Wir waren das letzte Mal dort.

Wir waren heute Abend mit der Family im La Grotta da Franco essen und waren sehr zufrieden! Von der Qualität der Speisen bis hin zum Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis und dem tollen Ambiente! Ja, die Preise sind etwas höher allerdings bekommt man dafür auch große Pizza-Portionen und Qualität hat nun mal seinen Preis! Besonders hervorzuheben ist auch der super nette Service! Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und kommen definitiv wieder!

Sehr unfreundliche Juniorchefin die nicht einmal einen Stern verdient. Kundenfreundlich ist sie sicher nicht. So betreibt man keinen Laden. Ich frage mich wirklich, wie so ein Laden läuft. Wir sind nicht die einzigen, die so etwas das erste Mal erlebt haben.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal mit 9 Personen hier, da die vielen positiven Bewertungen uns neugierig gemacht haben. Leider entsprach unser Besuch nicht ganz unseren Erwartungen. Die Juniorchefin (die ältere Bedienung im Gegensatz sehr freundlich, daher nur 1 Stern) war an diesem Abend leider nicht besonders freundlich, was den Aufenthalt etwas unangenehm gemacht hat. Sie schaute auf die Gäste sehr arrogant und ihre Antworten zu unserer Frage sehr unhöflich. Sie hatte keine Lust uns zu antworten, weshalb sie die ältere Dame zu uns schickte. Zudem mussten wir fast 1,5 Stunden auf unser Essen warten. Eine so lange Wartezeit ohne entsprechende Information oder Entschuldigung ist für uns nicht akzeptabel, vor allem weil wir auch noch kleine Gäste dabei hatten. Die Pizzen sind überteuert und auch nicht wirklich lecker. Wir werden sicher nicht noch einmal kommen. So leitet man kein Restaurant, wir sind selbst selbstständig und Restaurantbesitzer und wissen wie man die Gäste zufrieden stellt.

Absolut unfreundlich die Kellnerin. Man fühlt sich nicht als Gast. Für mich ist es nicht nachzuvollziehen wieso soviele Gäste dort Essen. Wir kommen sicherlich nicht wieder. Zudem sollte man sich die Rezensionen hier genauer anschauen, dann kann man sich durchaus eine Meinung zu der Echtheit bilden.

Leicht versteckt liegt das Restaurant "La Grotta". Ein Besuch lohnt sich aber auf jeden Fall. Super leckeres Essen...wir hatten Pizza, verschiedene Nudelgerichte und Schnitzel. Alles war top. Die Inhaber bzw. das Personal war freundlich und absolut kinderlieb. Wir kommen wieder 😃

Ultranettes Personal und total sympathisches Ambiente!!! Besser geht es nicht. Die Trüffelnudeln waren super, aber die Pizza war nicht ganz mein Ding. Sehr beladen und Teig nicht typisch neapolitanisch. Ich komme trotzdem wieder und bestelle, was anderes!

Es ist ein sehr schönes Restaurant. Das Essen war total lecker und das Personal war super freundlich.

Wir waren schon zweimal bei La Grotta Da Franco und jedes Mal sehr zufrieden. Diesmal waren mit sieben Personen dort und obwohl es sehr voll war, hatten wir unser Essen und die Getränke schon nach etwa 20 Minuten. Es gibt glutenfreie Nudeln, die wirklich lecker waren, schade nur, dass es keine glutenfreie Pizza gibt. Besonders zu empfehlen sind die Penne alla Nico, die ich bisher jedes Mal gegessen habe. Als Nachtisch hatte ich Eis mit Schokosoße, das ebenfalls super geschmeckt hat. Das Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich und der Service absolut spitze. Alle waren supernett und sehr zuvorkommend. Ich komme gerne wieder.

Heute mein erster Besuch in der La Grotta (Schwiegermutter hat das Restaurant letzten Sommer schon für sich entdeckt): Respekt, war das eine tolle Pizza! Hatte mir die Monti (#218) ausgesucht und sie war fantastisch. Da gehen wir jetzt öfter hin!

Das Essen ist gut, aber die Pizza ist mit 17-20 Euro ziemlich teuer. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob die Pizza selbst so viel kostet, aber ich stimme den anderen Kommentaren zu, dass der Service schrecklich ist. Es gibt zwei Kellnerinnen: eine junge und eine Frau mittleren Alters. Die junge Kellnerin ist sehr arrogant. Wir haben etwa 40 Minuten auf unsere Antipasti gewartet. Die Kellnerin mittleren Alters wirkt freundlicher, aber auch sie scheint von der jungen genervt zu sein. Bei so viel Unhöflichkeit und so langen Wartezeiten ist der Preis für Pizza in diesem Restaurant absolut inakzeptabel.

La Grotta seems to be synonymous with terrible service. We've never been treated so condescendingly and ignorantly. It's unnecessary! It's a shame... it could have been a very nice restaurant.

Inconspicuous but very good restaurant, absolutely recommended!

We were at this restaurant last week. The behavior I experienced from the junior manager there was something I/we had never experienced before. Arrogantly unfriendly, what she thinks she's doing is beyond me. When asked if the saltimboca could be ordered with fries, she replied snidely, "Well, just for once," with a dismissive look. The food was okay, but not much more. The male waitresses, and the female manager at the end, were very friendly. But what's also unacceptable in a restaurant is moving chairs and tables at 9:05 p.m. at such a volume that it's difficult to have a conversation. That could be interpreted as eviction. So our conclusion: probably not a second visit, and our recommendation to the young female waitress (junior manager?): find another job.

Great food, friendly service, be sure to reserve in advance. Not for a wonderful romantic evening as it is a bit too loud for that. Maybe this can be done outside in the summer. It's generally a good place to go, especially if you're hungry. The portions are very generous. Gladly again at any time!

The spaghetti carbonara is made according to the original recipe, a dream 🤤 I ate it that way for the first time and was totally thrilled! You can really recommend this craftsmanship at the prices!

Unfortunately it's no longer what it used to be! I ordered a family pizza today and was actually expecting a well-cut rectangle. One piece of the pizza was very narrow and the others were very wide and misshapen. What could be so difficult about quartering and then dividing again into 8 equally sized eighths? Very unwieldy! Unfortunately, tomato sauce was very unevenly distributed and did not contain any basil, oregano or any other herbs. The vegetables on the vegetarian side weren't cooked yet because the peppers were cut way too thick. The olives didn't taste like anything even though every topping there costs extra. The worst olives I've ever eaten. That has nothing to do with Italy. I'm pissed to be offered something like this by an "Italian. The owner is supposed to eat these olives and tell me they're olives. Absolute foolishness. The bottom of the box was soggy after an 8-minute drive home because no drip-proof paper was put between them. Pizza wasn't hot anymore, even though I got there on time and only had an 8-minute drive home by car. Catastrophic!!! 30 euros thrown in the trash can!

We went there to eat for the first time today. It was incredibly tasty and the portions were very large. We had pizza, salad and schnitzel. We will definitely eat there again and definitely recommend it. A little tip from the boss, take bowls with you to pack up the leftovers. Otherwise, 50 cents per box will be charged.

The food is really delicious. No matter what we ate here was always excellent. We would really like to order from here more often to take away from home, but unfortunately no one ever answers the phone here. The restaurant is harder to reach than the Pope himself. It's a shame when you're looking forward to the meal and preparing for it, but you're always disappointed because no one in the restaurant wants to answer the phone. If our money is not needed there, then we would rather order from someone who will be happy to accept the order. In order not to be disappointed again and again, we decided not to call there again (if we were lucky). It's just a shame because the food is actually good. Mm maybe you just shouldn't offer takeaway food if you don't feel like implementing it.

Best pizza in the Giessen area. That's why it's sometimes very crowded. Reservation recommended. Large portions. The padtageri and salads are also great.

Super good restaurant! The pizza was as good as in Italy and is very rare for German standards. Really excellent! My wife had pasta and loved it too. You can tell that the cooking here is made with love. Service & ambience were also top notch. Five out of five stars and gladly again :)

It was obvious that the team put a lot of effort into making this day unforgettable for us. The service was simply fantastic from the start. Not only were the staff incredibly friendly and attentive, but they also made us feel truly welcome. And the food – simply excellent! Every dish was a true masterpiece, from the delicious starters to the perfectly prepared main courses. The ingredients were fresh and of the highest quality. We will definitely be back - this evening was simply unforgettable and we look forward to dining at this wonderful restaurant again. Many thanks to the entire team for this perfect evening!

An unfriendly, overarching restaurant owner who often misunderstood her guests. The restaurant inside is very overheated! Expensive! The food is unimaginative, mostly oversalted and unappetizing. . I really don't like going there.

We ate here for the first time today and loved it. Starter (mushrooms in garlic) - highly recommended. The home-baked white bread was extremely tasty. Main courses are portions for good eaters, so no one goes home hungry here. Wine is at the perfect temperature. The staff is very service-oriented and makes all wishes possible. Honestly deserved 5 stars.

Pizza served on cake plates. Not only big, but also top quality and super delicious. The food is THE reason to visit this restaurant more than just once. Ok, the table next door was annoyingly loud, and the boss didn't exactly invent working, but rather chatted with regular guests. But you can mercifully overlook that.

The food was very, very tasty, fresh and of very good quality. Despite the obvious stress, the staff was friendly, courteous and very attentive. Unfortunately the table we had was inconvenient for us because it was in the passage and was relatively loud. Next time we'll go inside in the summer, there are no smokers there either. But nobody can do anything about it.

Große und sehr leckere Portionen. Also wirklich alle Portionen sind sehr groß und alles schmeckt gut. Die ganzen guten Bewegungen sind gerechtfertigt. Man bekommt Sonntag abends schwierig Plätze. Der Service ist freundlich, manchmal sehr gestresst. Leider wird nie ans Telefon gegangen was der einzige Punkt ist der stört. Ansonsten immer ein Besuch wert und immer sehr gut 👍🏽

Das Essen ist hier sehr lecker. Es gibt eine tolle Auswahl an Gerichten und es sind auch Gerichte dabei, die es nicht bei jedem Italiener gibt. Die Qualität ist super, das Gemüse ist frisch. Auch der Service war toll und aufmerksam. Wir hatten dieses Mal meinen behinderten Schwager dabei. Er sieht aufgrund seiner Erkrankung schon sehr auffällig aus und oft lassen Menschen ihn das sehr abweisend spüren. Aber hier gingen alle sehr nett mit ihm um und bezogen ihn auch ein. Das Restaurant ist immer gut besucht, daher ist eine Reservierung empfehlenswert.

Haben das Restaurant (leider) dieses Jahr erst besucht und hervorragend gegessen. Wir waren seitdem schon öfters da und es war immer hervorragend. Zwar etwas teurer, aber das ist es auf jeden Fall wert!
