Delicious pizza, staff are very friendly and efficient :)

Looking at the menu, it's basically a standard Italian restaurant, but everything is very fresh and delicious, with very quick service. And all at very reasonable prices. An institution in Schongau and therefore always packed! Update 2025: fabulously good calamarata with mussels and prawns, great wine, very, very good service – a truly wonderful evening.

I've ordered takeout here a few times, and each time the food has been excellent. Despite the restaurant being very busy, I've always been treated politely. If you're looking for good Italian food, this is the place to go, in my opinion.

Food and conditions very friendly, helpful and fast

The pizzas are excellent and huge. And the prices are reasonable. Despite the size, the seating is comfortable, and the service is quick and friendly. We only waited about 15 minutes. Everything was top-notch.

The restaurant is easily accessible. The seating selection is generally good, and the menu leaves nothing to be desired. The team does a great job, is proactive, and friendly. You can round off the evening here with wine and pasta before continuing on to the old town. Top!

Despite the restaurant being full, the ordered food was delivered promptly. All the waiters were fully focused and very polite. The food, good ingredients, a fresh salad (€9.90) and a perfectly adequate portion, and the Quadro Stagione pizza (€10.90) was neatly separated and generously topped. Not a meager fare like in many other restaurants. The dessert, a Cassata cake ice cream slice with pistachios (€6.50), was also very tasty. If you're not satisfied, there's no way you can help. And the price is affordable, too.

I've never been treated so badly with a small child as I was here. Constantly condescending and harsh comments made it clear to me that we weren't welcome here. I understand it's busy, but other restaurants manage to be friendly, open, and accommodating. The food was okay, but I couldn't enjoy it anymore because of this treatment. The atmosphere is okay, but they don't do much to control the noise, which is why it quickly becomes very loud.

Very good taste, large portions, and reasonable prices. We'll be back.

We were here with our youth soccer team and had a wonderful evening with good food.

A very large terrace, very cozy inside, super friendly service, and the food absolutely delicious. I had a steak plate yesterday; the meat was perfect. The pizza, which comes out of the oven, is large and also delicious. You can really tell that these are real Italians.

Original Italian restaurant by and with real Italians

Went here for pizza. Sitting in the "winter garden" is really nice; the walls and roof can be opened as needed. The salami pizza wasn't outstanding. It looked like a margarita with a few slices of salami thrown on top after it was baked. Otherwise, everything was great: prices were reasonable, wait times after ordering were good, the food (except for the aforementioned pizza) was excellent, and the service was impeccable. There's plenty of parking. I recommend reserving a table.

Phenomenal pizzas with a wide selection of toppings. Also good pasta and other dishes. The service is super friendly, and the food arrives quickly. In summer, you can sit outside on the terrace.

We were served quickly and had a very good meal. The terrace is completely covered, so it is highly recommended even on this warm day!

Best restaurant you can't go wrong

The food there is a delight; the pizzas are piping hot and prepared with love (you can tell someone here has tomato sauce in their veins). The service is super attentive and happy to accommodate "extra cheese." I love coming here often. The only downside is that it's often loud, which is understandably busy. But that's a personal preference. All in all, highly recommended 😃.

Das Essen war gut, jedoch werden auf fast jede Speise Frühlingszwiebeln in einer Menge gestreut, die nicht zu jedem Essen passen. Die Speisenkarten sind uralt, ranzig (schmutzig), abgegriffen und mit Klebestreifen geklebt. Bei einem Lokal mit dieser Frequenz könnten doch sicherlich einmal die Karten erneuert werden? Das Geschirr hat Ausbrüche an den Ränder, zudem sind die Tellerränder mit fettigen Fingerabdrücken verschmiert. Die Tischläufer sind mit fettigen Flecken verschmutzt. Die Wände, die direkt an die Tische grenzen, sind mit Flecken jeglicher Art verspritzt. Es müsste doch möglich sein, mehr Augenmerk auf die Sauberkeit zu haben.

Pizza Vegetaria and Frutti de Mare etc... super tasty, very friendly and ready to be picked up on time 👍👍👍 Eat there more often, even with larger groups. By far the best pizzeria in Schongau.

We have been guests at La Fontana several times now. Indoors and outdoors. This is particularly recommended in summer because it is covered over a large area. And the very numerous staff are extremely courteous, attentive and quick. Friends of a good grappa should pay a visit to the small cupboard (see photo) next to the bar. And everyone is sure to rave about the food anyway. So it's worth it! We are already looking forward to our next visit. Addendum: On another visit, the three of us ordered 3 x Pizza Tonno. We all spent the rest of the night mostly in the bathroom/toilet. The boss said on the phone that the next day we would get 3 free drinks next time. No excuse. Yes, the Italian folklore show probably ends with money. But it's a shame in the future without us.

We've eaten at La Fontana several times and everything was always fine, but today it was unfortunately very disappointing. Starting with the dirty menu, the dirty cutlery, the dirty toilet, right up to the miserable service.

I was here with my family and everyone thought it was really good. Spezi and Fanta tasted very watery and pasta with ham and cream sauce arrived with peas and mushrooms even though this wasn't stated in the menu. It tasted more like a mushroom cream sauce but it was ok. The staff was very friendly and the food came together and not everything was staggered.

Pizzas are fantastic, service is very quick. We got our huge order (40) pizzas in 20 minutes. Advice: Don't ask for ketchup for your pizza, you will get an authentic Italian reaction from the waiter. 😉

Had very friendly service. The seating on the terrace is perfect for a cozy Italian dinner, it is shaded and the babbling of the fountain creates a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately very disappointed!!! I will not visit this restaurant again and will not recommend it to others. The food came very late, even though we were one of the first there, everyone got their food before us. After a complaint, the food was served very unfriendly and wrong!!!

Das Essen war soweit in Ordnung, dennoch ist da noch Luft nach oben. Im Vergleich zu unseren letzten Besuchen hat aber die Qualität nachgelassen. Was uns aber besonders gestört hat, waren die kleinen Tischdeckchen, an denen man sehr gut ablesen konnte, was die letzten Gäste bestellt hatten. Diese müssten dringend mal gewaschen bzw. ausgetauscht werden. Die Speisekarte an sich "klebt". Auch diese bedarf einer einer grundlegenden "Renovierung"

Good service and acceptable food at a good price

Today I was at La Fontana again after a long time and I have to say that I didn't miss anything. New waiter who is brimming with arrogance. I ordered a wheat and got a Russ. Then I order a second wheat and tell the waiter that he should make sure that I get a wheat this time too. Then the idiot grins at me and says yes, I know that you just got a Russ. Without words 🤔

The food all came individually and with a lot of waiting time. We couldn't eat together. The quality has decreased. It was better 2 years ago. It's a shame we won't be coming anymore

Food was very good and quality was also very good. However, the service actually needs minus points! We had a meal from work, the meal and the first drink are paid for by the AG. This probably meant that the waiter didn't have to ask any more questions, and they didn't want to earn more money either. So we sat there for 3 hours with a single drink. The waiter didn't come to the table again after we had eaten and he ignored us completely. When he was at the next table, he was specifically asked that someone else would like something to drink. His answer was: "He doesn't know" and pointed to our boss, then he was told that I would like something more to drink and that I would pay for it myself! The waiter replied, “I don’t know,” turned around and left. Don’t you want to make money these days? There would definitely have been several more drinks and probably even dessert if the waiter had done his job properly.

I was very disappointed the last two visits. In both cases the waiter treated us unkindly. We didn't feel welcome at all. My food was forgotten. When I asked that it was ready after another quarter of an hour, he handed it over to me without saying a word. When I asked him to pack the rest, he ignored it and responded snidely to repeated requests. The other waiters have always been friendly. I don't feel comfortable there anymore.

The neighboring table talked in detail and loudly about last week's sexual intercourse. The menus were thrown at us and the pizza was mediocre.

Good price-performance ratio. Ambience not particularly inviting, lots of delivery service orders that radiate a lot of noise and unrest. Definitely much nicer with a terrace in summer. Service quick and friendly.

Joa, geht schon. Alles soweit in Ordnung, aber kenne bessere Pizzerien. Ich denke es ist Geschmackssache. Ich mag den Pizzateig einfach irgendwie anders. Ambiente auch in Ordnung. Alles sauber, aber nicht neu. Preislich auch vollkommen im Rahmen. Personal hat auch gepasst.

Mir wurde das Restaurant schon mehrmals empfohlen. Waren einmal dort zum Essen und einmal Pizzen mitgenommen. Beide Male geschmacklich enttäuschend.

Auf dem Heimweg aufgrund der guten Bewertungen ausprobiert und können diese nur bestätigen! Super Service. Schon beim Eintritt fühlt man sich von allen freundlich empfangen. Das Essen war frisch und lecker. Vor allem bei Salat und Fisch super wichtig. Und es ging super schnell. Alles picco sauber. Wir kommen sicher wieder!
