La Fabrica in Krefeld

We had reserved a table for New Year's Eve. After being seated we discovered that the regular menu was not valid. You could only order from a specially created sheet of paper with only a few dishes. There was no pizza at all that day. At the end of the sheet it was pointed out that you cannot pay by card, but only in cash. Why? These special features that apply on New Year's Eve were not pointed out when we made the reservation by telephone. So we all had to look in our wallets to check whether everyone had enough cash. So the evening started with a nuisance at the table, especially since the prices were also quite steep. Our dissatisfaction continued when the waiter came to the table and asked whether he could accept drink requests, even though we had just sat down and a drinks menu was not available or had not been presented. From our point of view, the waiter, in contrast to his young colleague, unfortunately did not seem particularly likeable and therefore not friendly towards the customer. When we had eaten, the waiter came to our table without wasting any words, his arm outstretched. It took us a moment to realize that he wanted to clear away, so we should pass the empty plates across the table from the back row to the front. We found the waiter's behavior to be arrogant and relatively disrespectful. After the main course, no dessert was suggested to us or a dessert menu was presented to us. We left the restaurant relatively quickly, even though we would otherwise have ordered one or two drinks. Overall, we found our visit to La Fabrica to be quite disappointing and we didn't feel we were treated well. After we wanted to pay, the waiter said that we should go to the cash register and pay there, saying "colleague is coming soon". So we waited at the checkout until the waiter who was allowed to collect came to us. Nobody asked us when we paid at the checkout (we didn't collect at the table) whether we were satisfied. Understandably, I didn't tip because the service wasn't right. If the idea was to present itself to the outside world as a special restaurant that day, this plan failed!

Very tasty but also expensive and the portions are too small. At least with the noodle portions you won't be full.

Real Italian flair, incredible food, hand made. And the whole thing is embedded in a piece of Krefeld history. Simply great.... Definitely try it out ☺️

I rarely express my opinion, but the food at this restaurant is nothing special. Especially the smash burger – they could have put more effort into it. The meat was overcooked or burnt, and the bun seemed artificial, as if it had been bought at the nearest supermarket. An additional service fee of 15% was charged. We won't go there anymore. Unfortunately I can't recommend it!

Very nice restaurant. Open, you can see everything well. Open kitchen and pizza area. Food was very good and tasty. Waiter a bit superficial, often overlooked the empty glasses.

Always happy, it's relaxed at lunchtime or during the week, too crowded on Fridays and Saturdays. The cuisine is classic Italian, and the pizza from the flickering oven is a delight. The service is attentive and the terrace was great in the summer.

The food was enjoyed by 5 out of 6 people. I think that's very good. The waiter was fun. unobtrusive, friendly and the drinks arrived quickly. Unfortunately, questions were rarely asked when the glasses were empty. The “menus” are a no go! Simple, worn sheets - not even laminated? This is much nicer and doesn't fit in with the store, which is actually very nice. What's also not right is the condition of the toilet. A better cleaning plan without round corners and a renovation would urgently make sense here. The floor tiles in front of the vanity are slippery, so I was worried about taking my mother, who has mobility issues, out. A bit of investment; then it could easily become my new favorite Italian. Definitely room for improvement, but delicious. Thanks to the waiter, the positive impressions outweigh the negatives; I'm going there again.

We were there for the first time today and were completely satisfied. Both the pizzas and the pasta dishes we had were very tasty. The service was also very attentive but not intrusive. All in all a good selection of food, I would estimate around 10 different starters and salads, around 8 meat and fish dishes complemented by a good selection of pasta dishes. Pizzas are authentic and almost 15 different ones are offered. In terms of price, the restaurant is in the upper segment.

We recently went to Pizzeria La Fabrica for the first and last time. When we ordered, the waiter apparently forgot what we had ordered after a short time and asked again. We also noticed his sullen, bored expression. We knew him from a Greek restaurant, where he also served us and other guests with noticeable reluctance. When the food we ordered came, he didn't even ask if we liked it or if we had another request, given that the drink glasses were empty. The food, pizza and pasta with salmon was tasty, even if the pizza was quite large. When he paid, he miscalculated to his disadvantage by giving back too much change. But then I noticed it in time when I got up from the table. The beer garden is located directly on a main street with the corresponding background noise. We didn't feel comfortable there, there are better Italian restaurants in Krefeld and the surrounding area.

Update from August 21, 2024: Second visit (lunch): This time everything was really perfect, service was super attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, due to recently being diagnosed with celiac disease, I can no longer eat gluten. They were very attentive to this. The chef also made a great effort and also produced the pepper cream sauce for the beef fillet, which actually contains flour, without flour. The side dishes were also cooked so perfectly to the point that it really couldn't be better. This visit was worth 5*+ 😃 Thank you First visit (lunch): Really fantastic brick oven pizza! Service was completely inattentive, not once could you even remotely see a smile from the gentleman. One of the very few times that I really couldn't and didn't want to leave a tip. Atmosphere I think is appropriate.

It was my first time there and unfortunately it wasn't good! Faces in a bad mood, waited forever for the food even though it was empty (there were 4 people sitting outside when we ordered) then 1 wrong meal came and one came much later. The food itself was okay... but for 2 small bruschetta breads as a starter it was pretty overpriced at around 10 euros. My dog ​​was with me and I was asked hastily and rudely to get him out of the way even though there was still enough space to run! The problem was where to put it because there was a wall on the right side and there wasn't enough space under the table! They could have offered us another place more kindly! Therefore only 2 stars

We were there yesterday. When the weather was great, you still managed to get a seat outside on the terrace, even though the restaurant was really busy. As soon as we sat down, the waiter was immediately there and took the drink order. It felt like they came within 10 seconds, and we were amazed at how fast they were. Then we decided on what to eat and that also came within about 10 minutes. And what huge pizzas! Absolutely brilliant and super delicious. The staff was very friendly and we were even able to witness a little banter between two waiters which was really funny and there were also jokes made with the guests. This is how you feel good, eating out can hardly be better. Keep it up 👍👍👍

The pizza was so delicious. It's not for nothing that when the weather is nice you have to wait a moment until a place is available. But it's worth the wait.

Good dough but overly seasoned toppings and cheese that wasn't heated for long. Unfortunately, the staff was not very proactive and annoyed with questions and changes. There's not much ambience on an open terrace, the inside is pretty but very echoey and loud.

For us one of the best Italians in town. Authentic (not least due to the spelling errors in the menu) and delicious. Not too many dishes.

We ate the chicken salad and a Pizza Diavolo, we enjoyed it. You can also sit outside well. The drinks prices for cola and water are problematic. You get the impression you bought a box at the drinks store!

I think food is completely fine. Smaller special requests are also taken into account. We go there every now and then because we like the saltimbocca, for example. I think the side dish is just OK, but I think the meat is great. Unfortunately, I have to say that the service is a bit inconsistent. We like the atmosphere outside. I had pizza here for the first time today with a colleague. The atmosphere is really nice, especially inside! The pizza came really quickly (under 10 minutes), and that's when the horror began. The dough was really very bad, as was the topping. Very oily and greasy, that's not how an Italian pizza should be! To do this, get garlic oil, which looks like dishwater or sewage. Service didn't care at all whether I thought the food was good or not. On the way back I had a stomach ache and even diarrhea, that really can't be right?

You can eat super delicious pizzas here. Yesterday we ate, among other things, a ME and YOU pizza and had the rest packed up. We happily wanted to eat the rest today and discovered that it was very sandy! Very strange because yesterday she was excellent. Now the question arises as to whether the slice of pizza fell on the floor before being packed and was still packed?!! How outrageous and cheeky is that!!!

Very nice atmosphere, plenty of parking spaces in front of the house. Inside you can either have an aperitif at the bar or sit down directly at one of the tables. Lots of staff, everyone very friendly and with a relaxed attitude. Very accommodating! Rarely have I felt so comfortable on a first visit. Receive fresh bread with garlic spread straight away. The food was excellent, starters and pizzas flawless. The mare was richly topped and tasted great! Let the really delicious garlic and chili oil be brought to the table. Therefore again at any time!

By far the best Italian in Krefeld! Great ambience. Super delicious bread with alioli is available for free in advance. All main courses and desserts have always been delicious. The pizzas are huge and always perfect!

It's now a classic in Krefeld - and we like to visit it again and again because of its good location, delicious food, great opening times (all weekdays) and very family-friendly. Everything is unspectacular, but absolutely recommended!
