La Conchiglia in Melsungen

This was our first time there. We were a fairly large group (11 adults, 3 children), and it had been booked in advance for a birthday celebration. The food itself was really good. The restaurant is also nicely and comfortably furnished. However, the service was unfortunately truly awful. There's no nicer way to put it. We had pre-selected all the dishes, and the birthday person had informed the restaurant well in advance. We were supposed to start at 6:30 p.m., and we had ordered antipasti platters. These arrived just before 7:30. So, the timing was completely inaccurate. We weren't given menus either, which would have been helpful for ordering drinks. The waiter himself didn't manage a single smile. He practically handed us plates and drinks instead of placing them on the table. And unfortunately, his German was very limited, which made it very difficult to ask questions. The hostess had ordered sparkling wine. Fourteen glasses of sparkling wine were brought. However, one guest was pregnant, another doesn't drink alcohol, and then there were the three children. It was absolutely impossible for five glasses of sparkling wine to go back to the counter. The 14 glasses were placed on the table and charged. No alternative to orange juice was offered. The main courses arrived very slowly, one after the other. My four-year-old daughter finally dared to go to the counter and ask when her food would arrive. The other two children already had their food, and almost all the adults did too. The owner snapped at her, saying that she didn't know when the food would arrive either. I was standing in the background. To be honest, I snapped back. What's the point of saying that to a child?! One pizza was completely forgotten. The owner stormed over to the table, held up the order slip, and snapped: "See, my colleague didn't write it down! I can only do what my colleague writes down!" And then she stormed off. Not a word of apology or anything. For dessert, we ordered a scoop of ice cream for the children. The food was served in a glass bowl that was simply filthy. We initially thought it was water stains, but you could feel the dirt on the outside (at least it wasn't the inside) when you touched it. My dessert and another guest's double espresso were never brought. The server was barely visible at the table, making it difficult to order drinks. I've rarely experienced such poor service, and then the owner's completely unfriendly behavior on top of that. Disappointing.

Excellent onion soup, pizza, and pasta. The young man who served us was a bit awkward and couldn't crack a smile, but otherwise, everything was fine. Dogs were welcome.

Sad experience! The pizzas mostly consisted of super thick dough. I was not allowed to pay with a card and was directed to the village ATM.

A well defined Italian restaurant in Melbourne. The waiters are very attentive to customer. They would try all the best to accommodate your needs amd diahes. We went there for a group of colleagues amd everyone rightfully emjoyed their diahes. Although I am not that femilier with Italian diahes, but items was taste. I ordered an extra coffee at the end of my dinner. When requested the server to bring my addon bill, he politely said that it was on the house. That was a surprise welcome. 🙂😊

I ordered number 61, but received 62 - even though the employee specifically asked. I clearly answered “61” and still received the wrong dish. This made me eat meat even though I don't eat any. He apologized, but the question “Are you Turkish?” was really inappropriate. And then react annoyed when you mention the error? Maybe a short vacation would be a good idea for him!!

Rumpsteak, zehr leket. Wunderbar!❤️ The rump steak is very delicious. The selection, location and service are of a high standard.

The restaurant was very full, which unfortunately made it incredibly loud. You almost had to shout at each other if you wanted to have a conversation. The service tried very hard, but often seemed overwhelmed. The cola was warm and there was also no lemon or ice cubes. After we ordered we were told that the lasagna was unfortunately out and whether they would also take cannelloni. The restaurant had just opened, very surprising. The bruschetta was very good, but the pizza was unfortunately just average. Placing a cold tomato in the middle of the pizza has never happened to me. You can't complain about the price at all, but we probably won't be coming back.

Food in the restaurant is actually always good, but when I picked up the family pizza it was completely baked and dry. The edge was high and without any toppings and the middle was wafer-thin and so dry that it was almost impossible to get through with a knife. Any kebab grill would have done better. Too bad

I ate there again last night for the first time in two years and I was totally disappointed. The Pinsa was great back then, as was the service! 3 people ordered pinsa, but after taking the order we were told that unfortunately there was no more pinsa dough (the restaurant had just opened!). The service never made an effort to check for empty glasses and had to be called over every time. Even after everyone had finished eating, the dishes remained on the table for ages and were only cleared away when requested. The bread basket looked unappetizing and dingy, the table without a tablecloth was decorated with a glass tea light that we had to light ourselves and a salt shaker, no pepper shaker and no oils that you would expect in an Italian restaurant. No feel-good atmosphere! At the next table an order was returned three times because the wrong one was repeatedly brought. This restaurant will be removed from my favorites list.

Service unfortunately very taciturn. Wrong food brought to the table. Lasagna lukewarm and very sparingly filled/topped. I don't think we will eat there again.

Ambience excellent. Service very attentive and friendly. Pizza, lasagna and garlic bread were very tasty. Unfortunately, the chicken schnitzel with porcini mushrooms, fried potatoes and herb sauce was so oily that it didn't taste as I imagined. Since there are no half stars, a star deduction.

Price-performance ratio was great, the food was very tasty, the atmosphere was nice, the service was humane and very accommodating.

For years it has been an absolute must to go to this restaurant every time I visit my grandma in Melsungen. The food is absolutely stunning, the atmosphere is deliciously old-fashioned and the servers are incredibly nice. You feel at home, especially with the owner, Ms. Küllmer, who always remembers my orders despite my relatively few visits a year. I'm already counting down the days until I can be back. No restaurant here or even in Italy can compete with this restaurant. It's simply the best. I highly recommend number 67, pasta in a four-cheese sauce. Absolutely outstanding.

I have known this restaurant for several years. Very satisfied so far. During our last visit, we noticed that both the service and the quality of the food had deteriorated greatly. The service didn't speak German... So we didn't get the drinks we ordered. Poorly seasoned food, soft fries, dingy bread basket. Our complaint did not receive an open ear from the service staff. On the contrary, they wanted to join in and discuss... Again please!!!

Very great experience after being rudely turned away at a different restaurant we found this lovely place. Great food, especially the pastas were delicious. The waiter was also really great! Young man who spoke perfect English and we had great conversation with.

Eine Pizza wurde leider falsch ausgeliefert und somit wurde die falsche Pizza kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellt und die richtige direkt fertig gemacht. So geht Service

Wir besuchen La Conchiglia hin und wieder mit der Familie. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und der Service ist hervorragend! Als wir das letzte Mal vorbestellt haben, da wir erst kurz vor Küchenschluss kommen konnten, war das Essen innerhalb von 10min für alle auf dem Tisch. Besser geht es nicht 🙂

Durch unsere Reservierung bekamen wir als Gruppe auch einen Tisch, sonst sieht es Samstag Abend wohl manchmal schlecht aus. Die Bedienung war freundlich und aufmerksam, das Essen war gut. Das Hütt Bier vom Fass war nicht mein Geschmack, das Bitburger traf dann eher mein Zustimmung. Trotz der Vollheit kamen die Bestellungen recht schnell. Es war für uns ein angenehmer Abend.

Alles schmeckt wirklich sehr lecker, tolle Speisekarte und die mittagskarte ist groß und umfangreich. Große Portionen und die Preise sind sehr fair. Die beste Pizza in der Umgebung aber auch tolle nudelgerichte ( auch besondere Gerichte mit Steinpilzen etc.) Wir gönnen es uns gern dort zu essen, weil die Qualität, die Portion und die Preise einfach prima sind und die Mitarbeiter allesamt sehr freundlich und herzlich sind. Das Ambiente ist nicht mehr ganz so hübsch, vielleicht wäre eine Renovierung ansprechender. Das ist aber Ansichtssache. Tolles italienisches Lokal mit sehr guter Küche zu fairen Preisen und netten Betreibern und Mitarbeitern! Bleibt wie ihr seid!

Went here for diner. We sat outside. Service was friendly and good. Had Vitello tonnato as an appetizer and pizzas Diablo as diner. Both were actually quite nice. Place was also busy which is also a good sign. When is comes to payment you may need to bring cash, foreign cards ( even Maestro) are not always accepted (we had to get cash from the ATM, about 100m down the road).

Pizza würde ich nicht wieder bestellen. Selbst das mitgelieferte Steakmesser hatte Probleme. Aber die Fetuccine mit Lachs waren sehr gut. Bedienung super und kurze Wartezeit.

Leider nur mittelmäßig, gibt wesentlich bessere italienische Restaurants, das ist jedoch noch nicht bis nach Melsungen durchgedrungen.

Wir gehen seit Jahren sehr gerne zu diesem Italiener. Die Eigentümer sind IMMER super freundlich, das Essen ist lecker und auch flott serviert.

Wir sind im Rahmen der documenta 2022 in Melsungen abgestiegen, und die Suche nach einem Restaurant hat uns in das wunderbare "La Conchiglia" geführt. Unsere Erwartungen waren eher auf den "Durchschnitts-Italiener" ausgelegt, aber weit gefehlt! Authentische Italienische Küche mit hochwertigen Zutaten. Insalate Caprese kam mit Büffelmozerella. Meine Spaghetti Mare e Monte enthielten tatsächlich schmackhafte Steinpilze, sowie ausreichend Scampi. Alles sehr gut abgeschmeckt und liebevoll angerichtet. Super netter Service ... und die Gastgeberin war unaufdringlich präsent und hat uns nach Bezahlung auch noch einen Digestiv angeboten. Wir können das "La Conchiglia" jedem Reisenden nur ans Herz legen: Tolles Essen, mehr als faire Preise, netter Service. Herzlichen Dank an das Team!

Wir haben kurzfristig einen Tisch reservieren können. Das Essen war ausgesprochen lecker, die Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich. Jederzeit wieder.

Wir waren zmeimal zum Mittagessen dort. Einmal drinnen und das zweite Mal draußen. Sehr netter und schneller Service. Die Portionen reichlich und lecker. Hatten Bruscetta und Vitello Tonnato als Vorspeise. Sehr schmackhafte Thunfischsauce zum Vitello. Können das Restaurant vorbehaltlos weiter empfehlen.

Wir wurden sehr freundlich aufgenommen. Das Essen ist wie in Italien. Besser geht nicht, da die Köche Italiener sind. Alles frisch und in Time. Auch zwischen Anti Pasti und Hauptgang wird Zeit gelassen um Platz für die Hauptgang zu haben. Die Bedienungen sind sehr freundlich, offen und sehr positiv.

Direkt auf einer Nebenstraße des Marktplatzes, befindet sich das Restaurant. Das Essen ist ganz ok, aber nichts aufregendes.

Wir hatten Glück, unter der Woche ohne Reservierung noch einen Platz zu ergattern - wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. "Melsunger" Ambiente (viel Fachwerk mit krummen Balken) was ich sehr mag, alte Deko, ... sehr schön. Freundlicher Service, leckere Pizzen und der Preis ist auch in Ordnung

Ich habe heute eine Pizza Tonno außer Haus bestellt. Auf der Sprisekarte die im Fenster aushängt wird diese für 7,50 Euro angeboten. Bezahlen musste ich 8,- mit der Begründung, dass die Preise auf der Karte nicht aktuell seien. Die aktuellen Preise wären in der Kasse hinterlegt. Sorry Freunde, sowas geht gar nicht!!!!!

Wir waren mehrmals im La Conchiglia, abends und auch mittags. Es hat uns dort stets ausgezeichnet geschmeckt. Das Ambiente im Gastraum ist ansprechend gemütlich und liebevoll dekoriert, leider aber ist die Beleuchtung ziemlich dunkel. Der Service vermittelt eine typisch italienisch-familäre Atmosphäre - alle Kellner sind freundlich, aufmerksam und flink unterwegs. Lobenswert ist das ausgezeichnete Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Die Portionen (insbesondere bei Pasta) sind großzügig bemessen. Selbst bei den preiswerteren Mittagstisch-Gerichten sind die Portionsgrößen ausreichend um gut satt zu werden. Abends, besonders am Wochenende, sind oft viele Gäste da. Es empfiehlt sich auf alle Fälle zu reservieren.

Wir gehen seit Jahren gerne ins La Conchiglia und ich kann vorbehaltlos 5 Punkte geben. Zum Angebot gehören neben den klassischen Speisen Pizza, Pasta und Salat auch diverse Fleisch- und Fischgerichte, alle zu moderaten Preisen. Das Essen ist immer sehr zufriedenstellend. Bei unserem letzten Besuch mit 28 Personen wurden alle Speisen gleichzeitig und vor allem ohne Abweichungen von den Bestellungen serviert, trotz einiger Sonderwünsche. Das sollte man zwar erwarten können. Dieser Herausforderung ist aber erfahrungsgemäß nicht jedes Restaurant gewachsen. Der Service war bei unseren Besuchen immer sehr lobenswert und der familiäre Umgang des Personals untereinander unterstreicht die Gemütlichkeit des Ambientes zusätzlich. Das Lokal befindet sich in einer alten Scheune. Durch das verbliebene Fachwerk, die vielen historischen Gegenstände, die auf dem Boden stehen und an den Wänden hängen, und durch die klassischen Gemälde hebt es sich deutlich von den meisten Pizzarien ab. Wer soetwas mag wird sich hier sehr wohlfühlen.

Wir waren schon mehrfach dort, es ist immer wieder einen Besuch wert, ob es um Nudeln, Pizza, oder Fischgerichte geht. Die Bedienung ist super freundlich, der einzige Minuspunkt ist, dass man eigentlich immer vorbestellen muss, da das Lokal immer total voll ist.
