Kühl‘s Restaurant Barmstedt in Barmstedt

Despite the empty restaurant, extremely long waiting times for food and drinks. Wrong drink served. Prices that have paid off. Open kitchen, kitchen staff wiping their pomaded hair and then filling up the salad with their bare hands. Yummy. One star is already too many. Never again.

We had pre-ordered a meal for about 30 people (roast beef, sour meat, herring with fried potatoes), only the fried potatoes had to be made fresh. The food was ok, but far too little. The potatoes only came after repeated requests. Then we had to pay five euros more than agreed. The staff seemed annoyed, except for one. Conclusion: Completely overwhelmed, not recommended.

Very nice atmosphere with a great terrace and a fantastic view of the lake. Food very tasty, very nice staff, highly recommended. Everything is fine again at any time.

We spontaneously decided to eat and drink here. We went to the terrace and wanted to... s sit down at one of a few free tables. We were very brusquely told by a waitress that we had to wait at the front entrance. For what, why? Well, Barmstedt has many locations, we will avoid these in the future

Open until 9 p.m., but the kitchen is already closed at just before eight on a Saturday? Kind of bites itself a little bit. Maybe you should make it visible outside that the kitchen closes an hour earlier or adjust your opening hours if new customers are no longer served after 8 p.m. anyway? Very disappointing, especially if you got a recommendation. Maybe another time.

Phew! The portion of fries for 5 euros! I thought I was crazy. And.... They were absolutely not tasty! Totally bland. I couldn't finish them. It was my first time as a guest and unfortunately also my last time

Update August 27, 2024 I ordered the Hamburger Panfish again. There is one less piece of fish on the plate and the mustard sauce has been replaced with tartar sauce. Schnitzel and fries were very sober. My mother-in-law asked for a senior portion. That would not be offered. Without being asked, one of the bosses gives the “hint” to have half packed up and eat it on brown bread in the evening 😐. We won't be coming back. A new restaurant in Barmstedt. The service was very friendly. I had Hamburger Panfish and was very satisfied. 4 different fish, plaice, salmon, pollack and herring with fried potatoes and a nice mustard sauce. A large portion for 15.90 euros.

You have to say the price-performance ratio is a catastrophe. Soft fries for €4.50 in a measly little box. Completely oily nuggets where you also had to pay extra for the mayo. And stupid sayings from the staff top it all off. We would never go there again.

The restaurant is really beautifully located, but the service is rated as "unsatisfactory", the waiting times for the food are too long and, above all, the price-performance ratio is an absolute disgrace. I paid €9.80 for a chip and tonic water. You can understand that everything has become expensive these days, but what is being sold here borders on outrageousness and is second to none.

Yesterday I wanted to reserve a table for 6:30 p.m. for two people and received the comment: "It's worth it." Just come by, we have plenty of space. I found it strange, but thought maybe he was trying to be funny. I was there with my 84-year-old mother at 6:30 p.m. When we entered the restaurant we were immediately stopped with the comment: "We're closing soon". What miserable management and guest service! We wanted to try the restaurant - we'll never see it again! And neither does anyone in our extended family.

The ice cream balls are very small for €1.90. The coffee tastes good.

The food looked good but there was nothing special about it. It tasted rather boring. For dessert there was ice cream, which was also average at best. The service seemed annoyed and unfriendly. The location itself is beautiful. Could you do something with it?

Small space in restaurant. The most beautiful view is of the swimming pool from the other side and the lake from the terrace. Nice employees. Food is expensive. 🍔 Children love buying ice cream on warm days. ☀️🍦

The Holsteiner Schnitzel with fried potatoes and fried eggs was super tasty and a decent portion. The price is therefore absolutely ok.

The farmer's breakfast was great, the schnitzel was visually appealing, but the taste was just a bit dry. The poor waiter was completely overwhelmed. But nice for drinking beer.

We sat on the terrace right by the lake, had a delicious baked potato with sheep's cheese and enjoyed the good service. Gladly again soon!

Very tasty and well-portioned dishes are offered there. The price/performance ratio is right. The restaurant also offers homemade cakes for consumption. There is also an outdoor area from which you can look out over Lake Rantzauer

Unfortunately very disappointed. The food itself was okay, even if the steak was medium rather than medium rare. Some fries were sticky and very greasy. However, the service was much worse. I don't want to be carried on my hands and treated like a king, but a friendly greeting and taking your order would probably be the bare minimum in the restaurant. The service seemed stressed and annoyed, even though there were only two other tables occupied next to ours. The highlight was the end, we hadn't even finished drinking before the untrue question was asked: "But you don't want any more coffee, do you?". It was 7:50 p.m. and it was supposed to be open until 9 p.m....The lights went out. Good-natured as we are, we still gave a tip, which I could have bitten myself in the ass for afterwards. Actually, we wanted to celebrate a special event, but unfortunately we didn't feel comfortable at all. The only good thing was the view of the lake. I've experienced a lot, but nothing like this, that's not how you treat customers, especially since the prices weren't particularly cheap... Unfortunately for us there will never be any cooling again...

Delicious schnitzel with a nice beer. The waitress girl was very patient and helpful. Seems like a strange location with a swimming pool attached to it, but very cozy.

Great location, great breakfast.

The restaurant is located at the indoor swimming pool and directly on the lake. Small deduction because of the view of the indoor swimming pool, but otherwise you have designed the restaurant really nicely. Nice terrace, which is certainly packed when the weather is nice because of the lake. The service was really very nice and good. Food was excellent, highly recommended. There was Fischpann and Holsteiner Schnitzel. Side dishes were very tasty and the fish and fish were not off the shelf.

Anyone who likes deep fryer food is well served here. The view is great, the terrace is beautiful. The animal noises from the loudspeaker on the beach disturbed the peace and quiet of the lake.

The location of the restaurant is very nicely located and the food itself is also good, but the price level does not match the food and drinks on offer. If a portion of spagel with salmon costs around €30, you should be full afterwards. If the service had asked every now and then whether everything was OK, we would have liked to have expressed this criticism personally. We eat out a lot and I was personally really disappointed with the price-performance ratio. Of course everything has become more expensive, but a good portion of potatoes or fried potatoes shouldn't be a problem. The aperol was the same

A beautifully located restaurant with great cuisine. The schnitzel was to die for. Perfect fries and large portion. Unfortunately, the service was a bit busy and the facilities outside were a bit basic. I can still recommend it. More than full at a fair price.

The food is great and the schnitzels are highly recommended. Large and deliciously breaded, very crispy. Beautiful view of Lake Rantzauer and dogs even get a water bowl 👍 You have to try the Grimbergen beer

Were there on Father's Day and ate very tasty panfish and enjoyed a very good farmer's breakfast. Super nice service and a great view of the lake. What I didn't like was that you had to pay inside and stood in line for 15 minutes until you finally got there Was allowed to pay for his food. That has to be solved differently. Otherwise I can highly recommend it

A nice restaurant right next to the swimming pool. The drinks and menu are clear and the prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly and helpful. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside. The outdoor terrace offers a great view over the swimming lake with a green meadow and sandy beach. Sufficient parking spaces are available.

Kühl's restaurant on Lake Ranzauer, well located and busy. We had lunch. Finkenwerder plaice with fried potatoes and salad, roast beef with fried potatoes and salad. Delicious. Nice staff and delicious food, gladly again.

Parking is great, and most seats in the restaurant have a beautiful view over the lake. You have to wait a long time for food, and when it comes, half of it is lukewarm. The prices do not correspond to the quality of the food or the portion size. The price-performance ratio is absolutely not harmonious! They won't see us again!

We've just wanted to test Kühl's for a long time. I can only enthusiastically say test passed!! Were there to try Sauerfleischit for lunch and what can I say 👍super👍!! We quickly decided to go back to eat panfish the next lunchtime and we were completely thrilled again. Whether Kühl's Restaurant wants it or not, "we'll be back"!! You have to look for such a well-kept and bright restaurant! We found it!! 🏖️ THANK YOU ☀️ Would like to comment on the criticism I just remarked to Lutzhorn that he must have been to another restaurant. Everyone is more than just attentive!! Both bosses have their eyes everywhere!! I like to criticize, but please do so objectively, right???

Unfortunately I was very disappointed. We had breakfast there in a small group. Unfortunately, the price/performance isn't right here at all. The latte macchiato was quite small, the sparkling wine for breakfast was just a sip. The cold cuts and cheese didn't seem to be of very high quality. Cream cheese and butter were already sitting on the table, unrefrigerated, in individual portions. The “slice of black bread” was packaged like pumpernickel, but since there were two slices in one package, they had to be divided. We didn't like the service either, the lady came to set the table after an hour, stood at the end of the table and had all the plates and the tier handed to her with outstretched arms and impatient finger movements. She interrupted the conversation three times while covering and always asked the same question whether everything was allowed, which was answered in the affirmative at the beginning. At the end there were still discussions because a drink wanted to be charged more than was consumed. Definitely we all agreed, once and never again.

The only nice thing is the location right on the lake. Unfortunately, this was the second time we were there and wanted a table. We stood at the entrance and no one paid attention to us, let alone greeted us. Then they left again. A pity!

Everything great. The atmosphere, service and food are top notch. Today we were admitted unannounced with 17 people because we were transferred from Cafe Vormstegen despite having a reservation. It was no problem for Kühl's to arrange everything at short notice. It was very cozy there and the food was delicious. Special requests were even fulfilled (lots of fried bacon, etc.). In retrospect, we are glad that it happened that way, as the food at Kühl's was much better and fresher than at Cafe Vormstegen and also cheaper. We would like to thank you for the great service and the delicious food. We would like to come again.

We were here for both dinner and breakfast and were completely satisfied every time! The service is A1 and the employees are super friendly and accommodating!! In fact, I ate the best fried egg here too :)

The food was okay so far, although the fried potatoes were much better last summer. What really annoyed me was that drinks are only available in size 0.4, so there are no small drinks. But I don't want to drink so much just because the landlord wants to generate sales. The price of the drinks then no longer bears any relation to the price of a lunch meal.

We were there for dinner this evening. We registered and it was normal operation. Unfortunately we were disappointed I like to wait a certain amount of time for food, but if other guests get the same food before me even though they arrived 30 minutes after us, the staff should notice. Unfortunately no excuse! After I complained, the Holsteiner Schnitzel finally arrived a short time later after over an hour. The schnitzel was good, the fried potatoes weren't great and the salad wasn't great either. Unfortunately, overall a disappointment for us!

A nice little restaurant with very tasty food. Good German cuisine is served. The price is also really good. Only the waiter was a straight six. Unfriendly in our approach and manner. An absolute no-go was that we were accused of lying and things that happened during the last visit were simply denied. For us, this behavior is reason enough not to come back. It's a shame because the food is really great.

We were in this restaurant for the second time today... It was a disaster like the first time... We just wanted to have a cup of coffee and a piece of cake... Service did come....not like the first time....quite quickly....but the coffee only came after half an hour and the cake came after we had already expelled the coffee. Normally you bring cake first and then coffee, but Petsonal doesn't seem to know that. The cake only came after we asked. Also the waiter's comment that we should come from Monday to Friday, then it would be more relaxed than on Sunday... In this restaurant you get the impression... there is little concept here. It's actually a shame, because the location on the lake is very nice. We will not recommend this restaurant...

Food was just ok (currywurst, fries, baked potatoes, children's menu). The service was incredibly bad. The male service staff in particular were unfriendly and overwhelmed. One of them dropped fries on me. A simple “Oh, sorry” would have been enough for me. However, even before I said anything, his reaction was: "It's not bad" and nothing more. The other male service worker seemed constantly overwhelmed and therefore rushed and rude towards guests and colleagues. No cutlery came with the meal. When we asked, we were given a cutlery basket. There would only be forks in the basket, nothing else.

The “Kühl’s” is a great restaurant. The food was delicious, the schnitzels were huge and the fried potatoes were amazing. The service was very attentive, very friendly and always had something to offer. We will be back definitely. Overall, highly recommended.

Solid restaurant for a good hunger. Nice and friendly, fast staff. Good cuisine, reasonable prices and a clear menu. Not my absolute favorite, but you can't go wrong here.

Discovered spontaneously. Very fair prices and portions. An excellent Belgian beer on tap and nice attentive service. We would love to come back, especially in summer. From March 2nd, 2024 also breakfast as a carte. We would like to do that too.

Very convincing, the food was great, the fried potatoes were very tasty, like they were made by mothers, and the steak and schnitzel were also great. The plaice was great. Large portions are available here at reasonable prices. The service was very attentive and very friendly.

As a long-time regular at Kühl's, I can confidently say that this restaurant is truly something special. On each of my visits I have been impressed by the consistently excellent quality of the food and service. The atmosphere is always welcoming and relaxed, making for a pleasant experience every time. The menu offers a wide range of delicious options, ranging from traditional classics to innovative creations. Whether I choose a familiar favorite or something new, I've never been disappointed. The staff are professional, friendly and knowledgeable, and they always managed to make my stay a real pleasure. Every time I visit Kühls’s I feel at home and can therefore recommend it without reservation.

A very excellent, inconspicuous restaurant, which is beautifully located by the lake. The boss greeted us with a friendly moin. He led us straight to the table and immediately asked us about the drinks. We chose a beer and were not disappointed! Ice cold and freshly tapped. Just as it should be. Very commendable!! We also chose a tomato soup in advance, which we usually only know from our summer holidays in Tuscany, and there was freshly toasted bread spread with homemade herb butter. Simply delicious. For the main menu I chose the beef roulade with dumplings. Here too we were not disappointed and got our money's worth. Very mouthy. Overall we can recommend this restaurant with 10 stars! The service was always available for a more relaxed approach, so even eating out at the “Kühls Restaurant” becomes an experience. Thank you for the lovely and delicious evening Mr Kühl. Very comfortable there, with a view of the lake and the swimming pool. However, the waiter was clearly overwhelmed. Snapped at the children, telling them to stand outside. In general he was very tense. But the rest of the crew did a great job. It's definitely a nice place to stay. Maybe it was surprisingly full and nobody expected that😘

A very friendly and attentive waiter served us. The food came quickly. The portions were huge. We became aware of the restaurant through the Schlemmerblock and went home very satisfied and full.

Very tasty German cuisine, large portions. Unfortunately we had to wait almost 60 minutes for the food, but the wait was worth it.

Unfortunately we were disappointed. We ordered three fried eggs with fried potatoes and roast beef with fried potatoes, what there was of potatoes on both plates was very very little, the taste was good but neither of them were full. When we left, they were serving roast beef with fried potatoes, it was at least twice the amount of potatoes. We wouldn't go there again.

Went there by chance after a winter walk. At first we couldn't find the entrance (on the side via the outside seating area) but the nice swimming pool employee helped us. We drank tea and everyone had a very tasty soup (parmesan soup is particularly recommended!!!), and toasted bread was served. Everyone was very friendly and we felt very comfortable. There was also a great view over the beautiful Rantzauer Lake😊👍

Wanted but couldn't... Service was polite and tried very hard, even if a little clumsy. The food was partly delicious (fries, herb butter, red cabbage, roulade), partly unappetizing (dumplings and steak with tendons and large containers). This discrepancy was certainly not due to the chef, who otherwise delivered very good food, but to the quality of the ingredients. The ambience of the restaurant did not match the promising website, menu and chef. The benches looked cheap and were too far away from the table. There were chips and napkins on the floor under a table in the entrance area. The toilets were nice but the soap was empty. What was worse was that instead of music, the radio played and we had to listen to the horrors of the day in the form of news reports during communion. The sound was sometimes louder, sometimes quieter, which was irritating. Conclusion: As I said, I really wanted to but unfortunately I couldn't.

We had three different menus for Christmas, all of which were good. The ice cream dessert with the menu was a bit small. The toilets were clean and nicely done. Unfortunately, the smell in the men's toilet was still unpleasant. The price-performance ratio was also ok. Here would here go eat again!

Es ist kein Restaurant wo man in Ruhe Essen gehen kann. Das Essen war gut, die Menge der Portion eindeutig zu wenig * Salat *.

Ich war mit meinen Freundinnen dort. Wir hatten unterschiedliche Menüs. Wir waren alle sehr zufrieden, alles war überaus lecker und reichlich

Super lecker Essen. Es gibt auch Saisonales Essen ,wie Grünkohl oder Steckrübeneintopf. Aber auch noch andere tolle Speisen. Immer gerne wieder. War Klasse

Lecker Essen mit regionalen Gerichten, kommen gerne wieder! Sehr leckere Bratkartoffeln 😋 und Bestes Cordon Bleu was ich in letzter Zeit gegessen habe! Weiter so.

Spontan durch die Speisen „Werbung“ außen angelockt und fanden es super. Durch den Blick ins Schwimmbad hatte unsere kleine etwas zu tun und der Service war schnell und freundlich. Das Essen (Kürbis Suppe , Parmesan Suppe, Cap Dänemark) war sehr lecker und eine schöne Portion! Wir kommen wieder!

Durch Zufall sind meine Frau und ich dort gelandet. Wir machen immer eScooter Touren und trinken dann unterwegs was. Hier dachte ich ich traue meinen Augen nicht. Da leuchtet mir ein Grimbergen Dubbel Zapfhahn entgegen. So ein Bier bekommst du in unserer Gegend nicht. Grimbergen Blonde hab es auch. Fantastisch für einen Bier Liebhaber. Das Bier wurde mir in einem Originalen Kelch gebracht. Ich bin restlos begeistert. Der Preis war allerdings mit 5,80 hart. Egal, man man soll sich auch mal gönnen. Unsere Fahrzeuge konnten wir draußen neben unseren Tisch parken. Das war vielleicht auch weil nicht mehr so viele Leute draußen saßen. Egal finde ich top. Meine Frau waren begeistert. Genau der Richtige Ort um etwas zu entschleunigen.

1) Der Service ist ausbaufähig die beiden die bedient haben waren etwas unfreundlich man hatte das gefühl die hatten keine lust auf Kundschaft sehr schade eigentlich 2) man muss sehr lange auf Getränke sowie die Essensbestellung warten 3) der Ausblick ist sehr schön Das essen an sich war sehr lecker

Ein sehr schönes Restaurant direkt am Rantzeuer See in Barmstedt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und das Essen ist auch sehr gut. Mein einziger Kritik Punkt ist, man wird gleich am Tisch gefragt ob man in Bar oder mit Karte zahlen möchte, leider kann man sich dann nicht mehr umentschieden,wenn man bezahlen möchte. Vielleicht sollte das geändert werden. Ansonsten bin ich gerne da.

Leider war keine Kartenzahlung möglich, das Service Personal wirkte sehr hektisch. Die Getränke waren gut allerdings aus meiner Sicht zu teuer.

Mega Service und sehr leckeres Essen einfach top

Absolutes top Restaurant in Barmstedt. Der Service war mega nett und das Essen genial. Ich war das zweite Mal hier und alles war perfekt. Leider waren die Gäste hinter uns mega unfreundlich zu dem Personal. Manche Menschen verstehen leider den Stress in der Gastronomie nicht. Das Restaurant ist nur zu empfehlen!

Waren mit Freunden da und haben drinnen gesessen! Der Chef hat sich am Nebentisch mit anderen Gästen unterhalten, was sehr laut und störend war. Hatte einen Burger mit Süßkartoffel Pommes. Fleisch war sehr trocken, Pommes aber perfekt. Bedienung kam zwischendurch nicht, um Getränke anzubieten, standen lieber zu dritt am Tresen. Aufgrund der Lautstärke haben wir auf Nachtisch verzichtet. Wenn man gemütlich und gut essen möchte, ist es (unserer Meinung nach) nicht die richtige Adresse.
