Kräuterweible in Bad Wimpfen

We'd been planning a visit to this quaint, rustic inn for a long time. Recently, we finally made it, and we weren't disappointed: You can enjoy down-to-earth cuisine at reasonable prices in an impressive setting. The chicken and meatloaf, for example, are highly recommended. The staff are really friendly and patient, and they're always in a good mood even after a long day at work. Highly recommended!

The fries and schnitzel weren't the best, but they weren't the worst either. What bothered me most was the unfriendliness.

We ordered and ate chicken with fries, cordon bleu with a side salad, and schnitzel with gravy and fries. I found the chicken quite small and somehow underseasoned (but that's a matter of taste). It was crispy, but that's understandable since it's deep-fried. The cordon bleu and schnitzel were pre-made industrial (frozen) goods. The fries had an above-average number of dark spots (shell residue and sugar pockets), which doesn't speak for good quality. Overall, a rather average taste experience with above-average prices. With two glasses of water and a Coke Zero, it came to €55.00. You can get more for that price! The only thing that impressed us was the friendly service, but of course, it can't "save" the food.

A quaint and cozy restaurant. The food is delicious and the price/performance ratio is good. Since the restaurant isn't very large, it can get a bit crowded during peak lunch times. There are also a few tables outside.

We were there for lunch. Instead of three, there were two waiters. Hats off to both of them. Despite full tables inside and out, they were courteous, friendly, and had a smile on their faces for all the guests. This was a great service. The food was, as always, very good, especially the asparagus. Excellent quality.

Beautiful restaurant in the old town of Bad Wimpfen. Very friendly service, a great, quaint setting. After several visits, I have to say the food is good. Praise goes to the kitchen and service team. I'll be happy to come back.

We returned here with the whole family a few days ago. Most people tried chicken and loved it, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I chose a rump steak, the meat was excellent and cooked to perfection. The salads were fresh and had various salads on the plate for €5.40. The potato salad is like grandma's, simply delicious. The ladies from the service, despite the stress, were very nice and friendly. During peak times you should expect to wait 15-30 minutes to get a table. We will definitely come back and are looking forward to it. I can only recommend it.

Our medium salad included bacon. What was neither defined on the menu nor was it anywhere else in the salad. I asked the waitress to take it off the bill because we couldn't eat it due to pork. It's not about the €10, it's about the brazen and unfriendly manner. That was definitely our last visit!

We used to go there all the time to eat chicken, but then we hadn't been back in a long time. After our last visit a few days ago, we quickly realized why we hadn't been there in so long: They simply seated complete strangers at your table without asking (and they were anything but thrilled about it)! When you go to a pub, you know you'll be sitting at a table with complete strangers, not in a restaurant. That's not right! The food itself is tasty, the chicken is deliciously crispy (as advertised), but veeeery small. It's almost reminiscent of a skinny chicken soup in terms of what's inside... It used to be different. The restaurant itself is quaint, just like it used to be; it really has its charm and is hard to find these days. But we won't be going there again :(

Quaint restaurant and nice staff and delicious food. Schnitzel with fries is recommended. But I think most guests come here for the chicken.

I am an allergy sufferer, I ordered a salad without allergens and emphasized that I need no dairy products. A tuna salad with cheese arrived promptly? I complained about this and pointed out the milk allergy again. Within three minutes a “new” salad arrived. Too bad it was the same salad, with the cheese removed from the top and still in the bottom. There was no excuse, completely ignorant!! They simply wanted to forgive me the still water with “it fits”. Of course I paid... I find it impossible to list allergens and then ignore them. Never again!!!

We always like to come here again because of the delicious chicken, pre-order and collection is also possible.

You won't find better, crispier chicken anywhere. To pick up (call 20 minutes in advance) or eat there. They also have other delicious home-style dishes. The chicken schnitzel and salads are also recommended.

I wasn't in the restaurant, but I was fascinated by the elaborately designed facade for the Christmas market. Simply brilliantly solved and completely in harmony with the Christmas market.

Beautiful location, but on Advent weekends it's unfortunately like a train station. The food is home-style, delicious, but the constant coming and going means there is a constant hustle and bustle in the room. Therefore, we were not able to enjoy the visit as expected.

We were here for the Christmas market and ate nuggets and “wild potatoes”. Everything was very tasty and the service was very nice. The restaurant is decorated as a gingerbread house (witch house) at Christmas time.

Without words…… reserved and yet couldn’t get a seat, the unfriendliest service I’ve ever experienced, they’re just doing too well, no more with us, what a bummer 😉😉…….

Pleasantly surprised. We had lunch with 7 people, chicken, rump steak and pollack, spaetzle, fries and salad, everything was great, came at the same time and encouraged dessert. Apple fritters are also delicious. If you like going to a quaint restaurant with very friendly service, this is the place for you.

The food was tasty, but the selection was rather limited. When I go out to eat, I actually want something different like the typical “schnitzel with fries”. It's autumn, how about pumpkin or something? Seasonally easy. Well, whatever, what doesn't work is the blonde older lady. You don't do that to your employees/colleagues in front of your guests. It almost borders on bullying and I would have loved to hug the poor woman today

I ordered chicken schnitzel with sauce, fries and salad. The chicken schnitzel was made of molded meat and had no taste whatsoever, as did the watery gravy. The fries tasted like they were made in old fat and the salad, well. All in all, it was and remains the only visit.

We went to dinner at Kräuterweible in Bad Wimpfen last night. Very courteous service, delicious food at reasonable prices. The chickens look great! I still decided on the rump steak and didn't regret it. Medium to the point! My wife's chicken cordon bleu was also delicious. Very happy again!

There's an incredible amount of chicken on the counter here. I still ate a rump steak with fries. It was very tasty and cooked to perfection. Very friendly and courteous service. Definitely again on your next visit to Bad Wimpfen.

Delicious food, great team, great beer. What more could you want? Service very attentive and friendly. The kids were even swapped out for salad ingredients that they didn’t particularly like. With large groups, space may be limited. Maybe there is an adjoining room, but I didn't notice. We were thrilled and would love to come back! P.S. Thanks for the tip to the guard of the red tower. Half chicken and the potato salad are really great!!

We actually really enjoy eating here. But unfortunately there is one thing that really needs to be mentioned. The opening times on the site have nothing to do with the actual opening times. Every time it says we are already closed even though it should still be open! Just like today you called three quarters of an hour before closing time and you're already closed?!

We were there for a funeral, just snacks and drinks. Everything was perfect, we were very satisfied and the price was absolutely right. We'd love to come back someday, perhaps on a more pleasant occasion!

For me the whole thing has a lot of memories and emotional connection because I've been eating here since I was a child, but apart from that the food is really great, the owners, the employees and for me the ambience is very rustic, half a chicken is great, salad too only to recommend. I always enjoy going there. Thanks to the great team, you are simply brilliant

I can totally agree with the bad reviews. Accidentally landed there today. Never again. I call it hospitable something else.

The service is OK, but the quality of the food is poor. The schnitzel is made from molded meat. Supplements must be purchased separately. There is only one Alibi leaf as a salad. Bag of sauce The same applies to the fish: industrial goods with soggy potato salad that is supposedly homemade. I found the atmosphere outside nice. The chicken seems better.

Absolutely not recommended. Service was very unfriendly and annoyed, the food was too salty and the word “juicy” is probably a foreign word when it comes to meat.

The flyer advertises high quality and consistent customer orientation. I think the waitress had never heard of this. We were greeted and served incredibly rudely. Since boldness wins, the remaining money was of course pocketed as a tip. From the way the service looked and behaved, we also enjoyed the food. Insufficient. If I could, I would ask for my money back & would rather invest with the Thai guy around the corner.

I think the food is delicious, but the staff is just outrageously disrespectful. You order your food, then a rude old lady comes and cashes in on you, she can't even do math as a cashier and then tells you that you should do the math too. There was no hello and goodbye either. At least the food dominated.

Today we had shrimp, chicken, schnitzel, and roast beef. Everything was super tasty. Price performance perfect. Rustic atmosphere. We enjoyed it. Beer and wine prices are also appropriate.

We can only recommend the crispy chicken. Delicious! The fries are great too. Unfortunately, the spaetzle and the accompanying sauce were too bland for us. We ate outside, which we liked with the old town flair. The service was 50/50 - one server was a little more attentive than the other. You should know that you may have to share a table with others even if you have reserved. We were lucky to stay alone. All in all good and I would come back for the chicken!

Nice little restaurant, nice service and there are regional specialties to eat. We had Maultaschen soup and fried chicken. Both are delicious, but unfortunately the soup is only intended as a starter, I could have done with another plate 😉 You can sit outside, it's right in the old town. A sign that says it's open would be good, we almost walked past it.

Inconspicuous from the outside but cozy and rustic inside. I took the “half chicken” with a side salad and it was all very tasty, with a Pinot Gris and sparkling water. The service was friendly and I felt very comfortable.

The tastiest grilled chicken I've ever had. The restaurant is cozy and rustic, and the service is impeccable. Highly Recommended!

My chicken wasn't particularly good.

Food was delicious. Unfortunately, that was all. Service extremely unfriendly. We were greeted immediately and then several times when we were greeted. Although we had already reserved a table over 4 weeks ago, additional guests were seated at our table. That's broom mentality and if we want that, we'll go to a broom and not to a restaurant. We also sat on dry land for over 30 minutes; There was no question whether we would like to drink anything else. The waitress preferred to take a break in front of the door in her red coat. That's just not how you treat new customers. It's a shame, so I can't recommend it.

We ate very well here. The service was very nice and despite the full house everything went very quickly. Top! We will come back.

Quaint, cozy restaurant in the heart of Bad Wimpfen, where we stopped for lunch. We really liked the food, everything was freshly prepared and tasty. We had fried chicken and chicken schnitzel, with crispy fries and a delicious salad. The service was just mixed; One service employee was nice and approachable, another employee was a bit abrupt and cold towards us at times. There is a recommendation for food!

Price/performance fits. I think most people will go there for the half chicken. We were just passing through.

We went there for dinner on a trip a few years ago and loved it. Been there again...service was friendly, atmosphere was cute...but the food was catastrophic. The spaetzle were dried out, i.e. they had probably been standing for ages, the sauce was tasteless, the potato salad tasted like it came out of a bucket 🤮 Very carelessly prepared, no decoration, bland... Won't come anymore!

A really nice little restaurant... In the middle of the medieval walls of Bad Wimpfen. A big compliment goes to the waitresses. Such friendly and helpful ladies! Really great. Stay as you are.

Kräuterweible hat leider stark nachgelassen. Ich habe heute Rumpsteak, medium mit Pfeffersoße bestellt. In der Pfeffersoße waren lediglich 3-4 grüne Pfefferkörner drin, dafür wurde erstaunlicher Weise eine Pfeffermühle dazu gereicht! Als ich sagte, dass der Steak DURCH ist, war die Antwort: schneiden Sie es in der Mitte durch, eventuell ist es dort medium. Die gewohnte Professionalität scheint leider abhanden gekommen zu sein. Es ist mir bewußt, dass bedingt durch die Inflation und Personalmangel größere Anforderungen an die Gastronomie gestellt werden, dennoch sollte man seinem Image gerecht werden und die Qualität mit Bezug auf Geschmack und Service nicht leiden lassen. Ich werde weiterhin im Kräuterweible Essen und dort die guten Hähnchen bestellen mit der Hoffnung, dass die gewohnte Qualität wiederhergestellt wird. Bitte seht dieses Schreiben als konstruktive Kritik an.

Super Service gerne immer wieder

Gemütliches Uriges Lokal.Spezialität knusprige Hähnchen.Aber auch das Restliche Essen in Ordnung.Preis Leistung stimmt.

Das Essen selbst war sehr gut, wenn auch die beiden kleinen Schnitzel recht wenig waren. Die anderen drei Portionen waren durchaus Okay. Soweit das Positive. Gulaschsuppe gab´s keine mehr und mein Salat, den ich als Vorspeise bestellt hatte, kam dann, auf Nachfrage, während der Hauptspeise. Das "Beste" aber war, daß wir an einen Tisch mit anderen Gästen gesetzt wurden, obwohl ich reserviert hatte. Wir werden hier nicht mehr essen.

Пречудовий ресторанчик. Я могла вийти до нього в домашніх капцях і щодня спостерігала з вікна за всім, що коїлось на літньому майданчику. Скажу чесно, від клієнтів ресторан не має відбою. Щойно його відкривали, так одразу зʼявлялись численні клієнти. Але я одного спекотного дня все ж нарешті потрапила до нього. Приємно вразило те, що бармен швидко зрозуміла, що я не знаю німецької мови і вільно спілкувалась зі мною англійською. Офіціанти усміхнені та милі. А ще я мала можливість спостерігати зі свого вікна за робою кухаря на кухні, можливо, шефа. Жваво та професійно хлопчина справлявся зі своєю роботою. І ще. При вході на вікні стоїть полочка з рекламними проспектами та листівками. Так ось, одна з листівок була відправлена до Великої Британії. Дякую вам за добрі спогади та приємні враження. Обовʼязково ще навідаюсь до цього затишного та симпатичного ресторанчику, коли знову приїду відпочивати до Бад Вімпфену.

Dieses Lokal ist einfach umwerfend! Wir saßen draußen, umgeben von wunderschönen Fachwerkhäusern. Tolles Ambiente!

Die besten Hähnchen weit und breit seit Jahrzehnten. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Sehr leckere Maultaschenpfanne mit Zwiebeln und Ei und Salat gegessen und das zu einem sensationellen Preis 👍 außerdem sitzt man schön draußen und ganz urig......da gehen wir immer wieder gerne hin

Freundlicher und sehr schneller Service. Das Essen war geschmacklich durchschnittlich und etwas lieblos angerichtet.

Sind hier mit einer grösseren Gruppe essen gegangen haben frühzeitig reserviert (knapp 2 Monate vorher). Wir sassen im Innenraum, an mehreren Tischen (dazwischen teilweise noch mit Trennscheibe). Die Bedienungen waren leider heillos überfordert. Eine Bedienung war genervt und wurde ziemlich laut im Restaurant (weil sie nicht so viele Teller tragen konnte)und die andere Bedienung war sehr patzig und unfreundlich. Pommes waren teilweise noch roh und nicht richtig durch. Hähnchen war gut. Kroketten wurden für 3 Personen in eine Schalte gerichtet (Bedienung sagte: „sind abgezählt, jeder bekommt 6 Stück.“ Für den Preis (die Kroketten musste man separat zahlen) waren es zu wenige. Spätzle waren um 13 Uhr (Montags) schon aus (wahrscheinlich nicht hausgemacht?). Alles in allem war das Essen O.K aber nichts was einem vom Hocker haut *Leider* , Service ist noch ausbaufähig.
