Knossos Palace Kirrlach in Waghäusel

I recently visited the Greek restaurant Knossos Palace and was absolutely thrilled! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a convivial evening. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, which made the visit even more enjoyable. The menu offered a great selection of traditional Greek dishes. I opted for the gyro and the grilled pepperoni. Both were simply delicious—freshly prepared and full of flavor! The prices are more than fair for the quality of the food and the great service. I highly recommend Knossos Palace and am already looking forward to my next visit!

We felt very welcome. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. There are plenty of parking spaces. The outdoor seating is well shaded by trees and umbrellas.

We went there for the first time today and the food was good and the service was super friendly.

Great ambiance and a warm welcome. For starters, we had octopus – it was grilled to buttery softness and tasted excellent! For main courses, we had steaks – they were perfectly cooked and extremely tender. The meat tasted just as you would expect. The staff is extremely attentive and fulfills many requests to the best of their ability. The prices reflect the service and the excellent quality of the food. We can only thank you and look forward to our next visit. Thank you very much!

After that, we had beef fillet and rump steak, which were also nothing to complain about 👍 We are more than satisfied with the quality and quantity and find the price-performance ratio justified, which is why we have been coming here for several years. And now something for those who write unjustified negative reviews: It's all a matter of opinion and taste, and you are free to visit the other side of Greek restaurants, where you get mountains of side dishes, dry, overcooked meat, and gyros for a small budget 😃 Personally, I prefer quality over quantity. Maybe we were just having a bad day, but for the life of us, we can't understand the predominantly positive reviews that motivated us to visit this restaurant. Yesterday, six of us dined here for the first and last time. The beer garden is really very nice, and while the appetizers were delicious, the prices were also a bit "sporty." €5 for a garlic bread, which is barely the size of a sliced ​​roll, is almost outrageous. And that's about it for the positive review. On the negative side, the rather poor service and the rather bland and overpriced food are worth mentioning. Side salads aren't included in the price, and you sometimes have to order tzatziki separately. The small side dish wasn't fresh either; it had probably been sitting around with dressing for a while, making it shrunken and mushy. The meat was barely seasoned (marinated) throughout, which lacked the typical Greek flavor. The side dishes, such as fries, are quite small portions. All in all, the higher prices compared to other Greek restaurants are absolutely unjustified. Regarding the service: Yes, the beer garden was full, but we (even two former waiters) have never experienced being so overwhelmed with 12 or 13 tables and three servers. First, an appetizer arrived twice, even though we hadn't ordered it, then a main course was missing side dishes. The table took ages to clear, and our empty glasses were consistently ignored; people preferred to run back and forth unnecessarily with empty hands. We actually had to wait 35 minutes for a second drink, despite asking. This wasn't an elaborate cocktail, but merely a bottle of Coke. Neither of us had any desire or appetite for dessert. The bill wasn't quite right in the end (double appetizer) and had to be adjusted again. A shame and unfortunately not recommended.

It's a warm Sunday evening, and we're sitting under the large tree in the beer garden. A wonderful atmosphere! The light gyro salad tastes excellent. The service is unfazed even in the busiest of times; it's always friendly and attentive. An ouzo on the way... Yamas!

Kyriakus, the innkeeper, is very friendly. Since I'm currently detoxifying, I was very curious to see if Kyriakis would conjure up something in the kitchen for me that I could eat. I chose grilled squid with broccoli. It tasted wonderful, even without salt.

I had dinner there last week I ate a Crete salad That was a good handful of lettuce, spinach and greens, a few pine nuts and a teaspoon full of grated hard cheese for 17.90 euros. Going out for a Greek meal again and landed here🙏arrived, enough parking spaces👍 fell in and immediately felt at home. Super furnished and comfortable for me. Then service arrives and half the evening was perfect. We visited the Greek restaurant in the clubhouse of the Kirrlach gymnastics club and were totally thrilled. The service was very friendly and attentive right from the start - you immediately feel welcome. The furnishings are simple but cozy, so you can relax well. The best part was of course the food: super tasty and really Greek, and it was really worth the wait. Although we were told it might take a while, the food came surprisingly quickly and was freshly prepared. We would definitely like to come back and recommend the restaurant to anyone who wants good Greek food and friendly service.

I ordered takeaway there. Everything was ready when I picked it up and I was served very friendly. The food tasted very good. The meat was tender, the fries were crispy and the tzatziki was absolutely delicious. I could definitely imagine eating here on site and then I can say more about the service and the ambience.

I really, really enjoy being there! We eat regularly at Knossos Palace, and we like to eat the way we know it from Greece: to start with lots of different starters (grilled pepperoni, pita, tzatziki, giant beans, fried zucchini, stuffed grape leaves, feta in dough with honey). As a main course we love skewers of any kind and/or salad. We have NEVER regretted taking friends there to eat! Everyone is thrilled! There is definitely a recommendation from me/us!❤️

We've been enjoying going to Knossos from time to time for a few years now and have tried pretty much all the dishes on the menu. Fresh, high quality products and excellent preparation. We regularly eat out in the Heidelberg, Speyer and Pforzheim area and appreciate good cuisine. Knossos is one of our favorites. The prices are in the normal range of good restaurants. We would like to comment on Patrick's rating: on that Sunday, when the weather was beautiful, we were also in the beer garden, which was well attended, and sat close to the family. There were only a few older guests at the table and three smaller children with parents and relatives. As is the case with smaller children, they are difficult to keep in place. The parents were traveling a lot with their little ones. A waiter can come to the table 2-3 times to take the order, without success. We heard the request for additional children's chairs, as well as the friendly note from the waitress that both children's chairs were in use, including by the third child at the table. There are a lot of families out and about on Sunday and some parents inform us when making the appointment that they are bringing small children with them. That's how it works too. The children received their food in advance so that it wasn't too overwhelming for the little ones. The waiters dealt with the large number of guests and remained admirably friendly. This is how we know the Knossos team. We will continue to enjoy visiting Knossos.

This restaurant is a disaster, I ordered 2 meals there, after an hour there was still no food, when I asked they said it would be coming soon and was promised a Quzo for my long waiting time. After dinner I wanted to pay and the chaos just continued After about 20 minutes I still didn't have the bill. The food was also tasteless. This restaurant is not recommended.

For our grandmother's 85th birthday we decided to stop at Knossos for lunch. The beer garden is beautifully shaded and pleasantly ventilated, which is very much appreciated on hot days. Unfortunately, the service that day disappointed us across the board. We had to wait a whole two hours for our food, which was very unpleasant for the older guests. In addition, the empty plates remained on the tables for a long time, which attracted mosquitoes, which caused considerable harm to the guests. The restaurant is also not optimally equipped for families with small children. There are only two children's chairs, and when these are occupied, the little ones are on their own. A temporary seat cushion or similar elevation was not offered by the staff. When the food was finally served, it was already too late for some of our older family members, who therefore declined it. The side dishes were delayed so that the main course was already half eaten when they finally arrived. We also found the prices for the food to be a bit overpriced. Unfortunately, after this experience, I cannot recommend Knossos. There may be other days when the service is better, but we probably won't be back.

What I've never experienced before is that you have to order and pay for a side salad separately. For me, that's part of it. But the food was good. I would have liked to have had a second drink. But somehow no waiter wanted to come to us and the restaurant wasn't full either. When they came after about 20 minutes, we preferred to pay. It was okay but then we preferred to go to a Greek restaurant I trusted ,Pity

We had dinner there today. We parked the motorhome in town at a workshop and from there we went to the restaurant. We were so pleasantly surprised because everything was really delicious. We tried several starters and the main course (gyros) was also really tasty. We can only recommend everyone to eat there. All the employees are very nice and attentive. Greek… No, I didn't primarily taste the wine, but rather an ox fillet skewer with Greek fried potatoes. Without words. I can only confirm the top marks that many have given here in all disciplines of food, service and ambience. Made my Day!

Leider muss ich ergänzen, dass die Preise sehr angezogen haben. Waren gerne und regelmäßig hier, jetzt nicht mehr oft. Schade, weil das Essen wirklich gut ist mit top Service.

Wir waren auf der Durchreise und haben dort auf einem Mittwochabend gegessen. Das Lokal war sehr gut besucht. Am Essen gab es nicht das Geringste auszusetzen! Im Gegensatz zu anderen Griechen war der Teller nicht völlig überfüllt, sondern sehr nett angerichtet. Die Beilagen lagen auf einem separaten Teller und die Qualität war überdurchschnittlich gut. Allerdings waren die Preise im oberen Bereich angesiedelt. Im Bereich Hamburg und Schleswig-Holstein gehört zu jedem Essen ein kleiner Salat (im Preis inklusive). Hier werden für einen kleinen Beilagensalat drei Euro extra berechnet, bei sowieso schon hohen Preisen für das Hauptgericht. Auch einen Ouzo „auf‘s Haus“ kennt man hier nicht. Daher nur vier Sterne. Das Essen hat sechs Sterne verdient! Auch die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und schnell. Insofern kann ich das Restaurant empfehlen.

Wir waren mehrfach zum Mittagessen, schmeckt gut, Preis und Service stimmig, gerne wieder.
