Delicious, fresh food I had a pho soup with tofu. My husband had a Thai curry, nice and spicy. Everything was fresh and perfectly seasoned!! Very friendly service☀️☀️👍

Some reviews are lowbrow. You're welcome to express your displeasure and your opinion, but some things are better left to your own devices. It's a shame that some people forget their good manners because they think you can remain anonymous on the internet. But now to the restaurant! On the way to the car, we were greeted by the owner outside the door. Despite our minimal German skills, the conversation was very pleasant. We simply had to try the food, and it was amazing! The kimchi was crisp and beautifully spicy. The duck was so tender it melted in your mouth. The vegetables were perfectly fried, so tender yet still crunchy. The homemade lemonade was refreshing. We paid just under 40 euros for two main courses, two appetizers, and two drinks. It's good value for money. We'll be back regularly and are really looking forward to it.

The owner is absolutely lovely, the baba food is amazing. The only thing missing from the menu is a kimchi jiggae, which would give it 6 stars. We were practically satiated, we really enjoyed it. We'd love to go back when we're in the area ❤️

We ended up here quite by chance, having heard about the alleged renovation. I wanted to order the filleted chicken thighs. The waiter, presumably also the owner, even came to the table a second time to make sure I really wanted the filleted chicken or the baked chicken instead. I stuck to my decision. When he brought the food, however, I still received the baked chicken. Unfortunately, after a brief discussion, I couldn't convince him to prepare the chicken I had ordered instead. So I had no choice but to accept the wrong dish. The taste of the food was more reminiscent of a snack bar than a restaurant. We were only informed after the meal that card payments were not possible; there was no prior notice. We will definitely not be coming back. We only gave it two stars because the waiter himself was a nice and humorous man.

6!!!! Honestly: I've rarely eaten so badly and been treated so badly. Upon entering, there was a frosty atmosphere, as if they'd forgotten that they were supposed to welcome guests. The service? Unfriendly to the point of hostility. A smile? None. Friendliness? Apparently a foreign concept in this place. The food was simply abysmal. Tasteless, carelessly presented, and of such quality that I seriously questioned whether they even knew how a kitchen worked. Everything smelled funny, tasted bland or strangely sour—perhaps spoiled? When I politely expressed criticism, I wasn't taken seriously—no, I was insulted, practically snapped at, and ultimately even thrown out. At first, I thought it was a bad joke. Unfortunately, not. An absolute no-go and the most rude behavior I've ever experienced in a restaurant. Conclusion: Bad service, bad food, bad atmosphere—collectively, simply miserable. Anyone who goes here has only themselves to blame. I can only strongly advise against it. It's a place like something out of a bad movie, except at least I can leave the room without being insulted.

Hmm, we ordered a Korean rice dish. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. Deep-fried chicken and duck, like you'd get from an Asian takeaway. The vegetables were blandly seasoned. We then ordered sauces and got Samba oleck, a peanut sauce that must have been sitting in the bowl for a while because a skin had already formed on it, and a bowl of the typical sweet and sour sauce that was already foaming and, in our opinion, already overcooked. When I was paying, I said that the meal had nothing to do with Korean food as I know it, and the answer was: if you wanted Korean food, you'd have to say so.

Charming with really good value for money. At Kimchi, you can almost always find a seat, the food is always delicious, and the chef is a true character. I've never been disappointed in my many years here.

The old Asian man and his restaurant. He actually does everything himself – and that's fine! The food is delicious and the service was great. The atmosphere is just as it is. It will certainly be more interesting when the place is full. I can't agree with the previous reviewers today! We were treated to a shot of schnapps as a farewell!

The tofu was a single, slimy mess. We ordered fries for the kids, but they also served chicken nuggets, which we immediately returned because we hadn't ordered them. We still had to pay for them. The apple spritzer tasted stale. It wasn't possible to get a proper receipt. The premises are dirty, and everything is sticky. An absolute disaster and not recommended at all.

While searching for a restaurant, I came across Kimchi. I immediately saw the numerous negative reviews on Google. I wanted to see the restaurant and the food for myself. However, I can now understand the reviews. The food itself doesn't taste fresh, and the flavor is rather weak. The quality of the ingredients doesn't seem fresh. However, the portion is relatively large, so you'll feel full afterward. The lemonade tastes relatively good, but it's not homemade. The owner is responsible for the service and preparation of the food. Therefore, the process (ordering/preparation/payment) can take a minimal amount of time. The service is average, but not rude. The restaurant is not decorated. I will refrain from another visit.

A friendly welcome. The food (duck with shrimp) was terrible. I had two pieces of duck on my plate, otherwise just a crust of dough. The shrimp were cold and the vegetables were completely overcooked. The Kinchi, which we once loved, seems to be gone. I won't be visiting again.

Were initially welcomed very nicely. We then ordered homemade drinks, which were also appetizing. Once we got our starter, I was disappointed with my wontons as they weren't tasty. We also ordered the kimchi and it was probably NOT FRESH. Adding to the whole disaster, we found a hair in the kimchi. After that the meal was served. We didn't eat any of the main course. Ultimately we wanted to pay and leave. The gentleman who welcomed us was very pushy and wanted us to try his food. After I paid less than the main course, we were able to leave. Conclusion: If you don't want to lie in bed at night with stomach problems, I can't recommend the restaurant.

I ordered from you, the only food that arrived was porridge. Zero consistency, I would have had to spoon it. The noodles were not udon as stated, but glass noodles. I only ordered from you because of the udon. I'm really angry that I ordered from you. Never again.

No, sorry, the food has little to do with Korean. The restaurant is rather shabby and the dishes in the kitchen are not really prepared hygienically. Money is collected and salad is prepared with the same hands.

Very expensive - get very little for your money Soup with coconut milk is very limited if there is too much coconut milk in it - no taste at all and very few and small pieces of meat

The waiter was very nice and funny. We were there very late, so we were the only guests at the time, but the food was still fresh and tasty. We had a grill plate meal for 2 and a soup as a starter. The kimchi didn't taste very original and had a strange aftertaste (not because it wasn't fresh, but an ingredient) that I personally didn't like, but otherwise the rest was very tasty. The guy also gave us a tip for grilling, which really helped. The homemade lemonades are really delicious. Would come back at any time. Unfortunately the card machine didn't work, which we weren't informed about when we came in, and there was no sign outside, but luckily we had cash with us.

We were very happy with the kimchi. The reservation went smoothly, the employees were all very friendly and accommodating. The rice table was very tasty, but the highlight was the Korean BBQ with pork belly - we would love to come back!

Asian food. But it has nothing to do with Korean food. More Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine. Lots of breading. So far, no Korean has been found in Kiel since he left Hamburger Chaussee.

Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with the “Kimchi” restaurant. Some of the food was cold and I even found a hair in my dish. The taste didn't convince us either. In addition, a reordered drink was not brought, but later appeared on the bill. Overall it was a very bad experience. Absolutely no recommendation from me.

We had made a reservation by phone for February 7, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. When we were there the restaurant was closed for renovations 👎 that's not possible... accept a reservation and then not open... 10 minus points

Korean cuisine? None - there weren't even chopsticks to eat with?! The worst restaurant I've ever been to. It was nothing more than what you get from any Asian in any shopping mall. 100 € for 4 people, at Sophienhof it would taste better and only cost half as much. The meat SWAMMED in dark sauce, it was downright inedible. A short time later, my companion felt completely sick. We waited OVER AN HOUR for the food (another customer came to the counter and also asked for their order). Card payment NOT possible - we were told after we asked for the bill. The ambience seemed as if it had been a Greek restaurant yesterday. Service chaotic. The neighboring table also left half of it and was quickly gone again. Absolutely no recommendation and never again. Outrageous.

We ate there, the waitress was very nice and friendly, but she didn't understand us and neither did the boss, the food we ordered didn't come, and what we ordered was floating in soy sauce, so that's how you do it I couldn't enjoy the meat at all, it tasted very salty and stale. The salad was too salty. We were there for a total of 1.5 hours and 1.15 of those were just waiting for the food. After another 15 minutes of waiting for the bill we moved forward ,because Nobody came and the store wasn't fully booked Not again ,

We had a Korean rice table with two drinks and paid €50.80 for it. Neither was the meat fresh for the price and not prepared to a high quality. My friend had found a piece of the shell of the fried shrimp, so we assumed that they had not been cleaned properly because this would have been noticed during the process. We couldn't pay with a card because the device was broken. We were only told this when we asked for the bill. So my friend had to add up change from his wallet instead of being told about it in advance and being able to go to an ATM. Unfortunately only very disappointed 1 star.

From the beginning... Nice reception friendly staff. We had a reserved table and everything worked out. Unfortunately from then on things got worse and worse. In the back room some German campfire band was playing horrible songs that didn't fit the restaurant at all. Although everyone had a reserved table, the restaurant owner came and asked if two others could sit at a table for four where two people had been seated. Then the food was taken out of your hand and brought there because four of you at a table of 6 could also change to a table of 4. It was absolute chaos and the only thing left to do was see where more people could be added. My food was completely oversalted and there was no time to re-order it... so unfortunately it was a stressful, very unpleasant stay for us... therefore NO RECOMMENDATION!

Not a Korean restaurant. 2/3 of the pork belly is only fat. They said they refused credit card payment and only allowed cash payment. Isn’t this illegal in Germany?

On my last visit I was very shocked. The food no longer had anything to do with the good cuisine I was used to there. A new owner has taken over the restaurant. The food wasn't freshly prepared like it used to be. It tasted more like it had just come out of the microwave and was ready just as quickly.

Sehr leckeres Essen und freundliche Bedienung

Wir waren mit 4 man im kimchi und haben uns für das Tisch bbq mit Rind, Schwein und Hühnchen entschieden. Hierzu gab es, dem Namen des Ladens entsprechend, kimchi. Dieser war ausgezeichnet. Weiter gab es zum bbq als Beilagen Reis, einen Teller voll Salatblätter und einen weiteren Kohlsalat. Hier wären ein, zwei weitere Gemüse Sorten wie Pilze oder Paprika als Ergänzung noch ganz nett gewesen, daher ein Stern Abzug. Im großen und ganzen waren wir jedoch sehr zufrieden und würden einen Besuch durchaus empfehlen.

Essen sehr glutamathaltig und zu wenig Frische. Geschmacklich durchschnittlich, wie auch das Ambiente. Bedienung etwas überfordert, aber freundlich und bemüht.

Der Service war super lieb und das Essen hat uns gut geschmeckt. Ob es nun authentisch war oder nicht, kann ich nicht beurteilen. Aber das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis stimmte und das Essen war frisch und schmackhaft. Wir würden irgendwann wieder kommen. Die Kritik an der Kommunikation und an dem Kassenbon können wir bestätigen. An einigen Ecken könnte das Restaurant auch etwas renoviert werden.... ABER wir haben es einfach mit Humor genommen und hatten einen netten Abend dort.

Gutes Essen zu einem guten Preis. Wir wurden super freundlich bedient und es hat Spaß gemacht sich mit dem "Chef" zu unterhalten. Wir waren sehr zufrieden.

Koreanische Reistafel, sieht besser aus als sie ist. Wir waren leider enttäuscht. Fing an das die Online - Speisekarte 17,90 sagte und vor Ort 21,90. Die Ente war leider sehr trocken, dann Salat auf einem Teller der auf den Grill steht, nach ein paar Minuten nur noch Matsch, warum nicht extra gereicht. Sind leider enttäuscht, für das Geld gibt es bessere und reichhaltige Buffets.

Wir hatten zu viert bestellt, und die Essen kamen in einem Abstand von ca. 15 Minuten. Obwohl es die gleichen Menues waren. Ein Essen wurde offensichtlich in dieser Zeit in der Küche stehengelassen, das die Soße eingedickt und das Fleisch angetrocknet war. Das Personal war überhaupt nicht organisiert. Schade.

Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Dafür der 2. Stern. Das Ambiente ist heruntergekommen und war sicherlich so vor 15 Jahren schon im Einsatz. Beim Hineingehen roch es für mich stark nach Toilette. Vermutlich wird für die Gasträume das gleiche Reinigungsmittel benutzt. Der "hausgemachte" Eistee schmeckt nicht. Irgendein Pulver oder Sirup mit Mineralwasser gemischt. Unsere "koreanischen" Gerichte hatten mit koreanischem Essen nichts zu tun und waren auch geschmacklich enttäuschend. Leider ist das Restaurant so absolut keine Empfehlung. Vor einigen Jahren war es in Bezug auf koreanisches Essen wesentlich authentischer!

Restaurant von der Einrichtung her im normalen Bereich. Das koreanische Essen hat nichts mit der koreanischen Küche zu tun. Wer koreanische Küche erwartet, sollte nicht herkommen. Die Ente war okay, wenn auch die Idee, sie mit blanker Sojasauce aus der Flasche zu servieren, etwas gewagt ist. Dafür war das Bier in Ordnung und ebenso die Bedienung.

Essen war ok, hätte für meinen Geschmack würziger gekonnt. Personal spricht / versteht schlecht deutsch. Ist aber sehr freundlich. Ambiente: könnte etwas reinlicher sein.

Wir waren am 17.09.22 dort. Das Essen war günstig und es war nicht nur reichlich sondern auch sehr lecker. 4 Vorspeisen, 4 Hauptgerichte und Getränke für 4 Personen für 95 Euro sind ein moderater Preis. Die beiden Kellner waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Nun der Punkt warum es nur 3 Sterne sind. Die Lokalität ist halt ein Altbau entsprechend trist ist auch das Interieur. Das Ambiente ist eben sehr einfach, da fehlt das Geld um den Laden richtig schick zu gestalten. Es fehlt die Gemütlichkeit. Im September eine offene Eingangstür sorgt auch für eine "erfrischende" Kühle, zumal es nach hintenraus offenbar auch offene Fenster gab. Wir saßen in unseren Jacken beim Essen. Dann muss man leider sagen, dass dem jungen Mann der uns bediente ganz deutlich die Professionalität fehlte. Er war vermutlich eine Aushilfe. Der junge Mann in Jeans und Sweater war nicht sofort als Kellner erkennbar. Die Rechnung wurde mündlich vorgetragen ohne vorher den Tisch abzuräumen. Das sind in einem Restaurant eigentlich unübliche Verhaltensweisen. Allerdings war er ein so lieber Junge, dass er trotzdem ein angemessenes Trinkgeld bekommen hat. Ich würde wieder hingehen....im Sommer.

Gute asiatische Küche, Sehr leckeres Essen, freundliche Bedienung, gutes Preis - Leistungs Verhältnis, Parkplätze sind eher knapp, man kann aber bei der Wunderrino Arena parken, ist direkt gegenüber.

Sehr leckeres Essen! Wir hatten einen Tischgrill sowie weitere Gerichte. Große Portionen. Das Fleisch war sehr zart, lecker mariniert. Die Atmosphäre war freundlich. Kann ich nur weiter empfehlen.
