A beautiful, old-established Cologne pub. On offer are traditional Cologne dishes, Kölsch on tap and an authentic atmosphere.

I ordered schnitzel and a beer and it came out to between 20 and 21 euros. The meat was thick and delicious, but just a little salty. Both the salad and potatoes were delicious. Asking for tips was unfamiliar to me. Still, I will go back later. I think you need a reservation.

Here you can still have really rustic Kölsch and delicious food and drinks. We'll definitely be back!

Classic Cologne pub, not at all comparable to the big breweries, just charming.

Very cozy little restaurant. Were there for the Christmas party. Service was very quick, friendly and attentive. I felt very comfortable there and would love to come back. The food was perfect. Especially my double rib cutlet 😀 But everyone else was excited too.

Spectacular place where you can eat real German cuisine in peace and above all at a very honest price. Among other things ordered on the menu, I recommend the pork shank. A must stop if you pass through here.

(Overall review) I give them great marks for guiding foreigners without discrimination and treating them kindly. I've experienced so many times where they don't take my order or give me a seat that I'm really disappointed with this place. However, perhaps because there was no English menu, the staff started ordering me to eat this dish without even giving me a recommendation or opinion from the beginning, which was a bit embarrassing. However, if you specify exactly what you want on the menu, they will give it to you. The problem is that there is someone in the group who cannot drink alcohol, so the price is 1 köl per person. Even if you can’t drink it, you have to put a glass in front of you and eat it. (Someone asked me why I couldn't even drink beer when I came to Germany, but I said I was sick...) I ordered curry wurst, and the sauce is a bit salty for Korean standards. It's not so much that you can't eat it, but it's appropriate if you think of it as a beer snack. The sausage had a soft texture and the roasted potatoes and cabbage were really delicious. Everyone at the table next to me ordered Glockenschnitzel, so I think I'll try that next time I go. The male employee spoke English, but it didn't seem like we were communicating well (I said I was abstaining from drinking!!! In the end, my group drank their share because it was delicious!!!), but I was grateful that they made an effort to communicate. It's funny that a male employee asked me to leave a review because he's handsome, and I keep thinking about it, haha, so I'm writing a long post after coming to the hotel. After I finished eating, I drew a square asking for a receipt, and I don't think I'll forget what I watched on TV until the day I die (-.- haha. You gave me memories of the trip.

Very cozy pub with delicious food at fair prices. The service does a very good job and the toilets are clean. There is early Kölsch on tap at the right temperature. 👍🏻

The small bell is hidden at the end of the Glockengasse. You're almost standing in the Galeria Kaufhof building, which I still know as Karstadt. The Glockengasse is, as I know from 4711 commercials, world famous. But since the city center of Cologne is not very busy in the evenings, the place is quite quiet. But that doesn't apply to this pub, which was very busy on a Tuesday evening. If you need a table for a group, you should definitely make a reservation. The restaurant is furnished in a Cologne-rustic style. You sit very well on the sturdy furniture. The fresh Früh Kölsch is served at a good temperature. For Pils drinkers there is Bitburger in a small bottle. There is a menu with many Rhenish specialties. At the table we had some snacks with the beer. I had the crusty goulash, which was delicious. A highlight was the potato pancake with tartare. I haven't tried this combination yet, but if you like tartar you should definitely try it. The half rooster also found his friends. I will try a few more dishes on future visits as I had a good impression. The landlady is warm, the staff is very nice and serves quickly and professionally. So if you want to experience that Cologne's shopping district still has life in places even after dark, you should treat yourself to a visit.

A perfect evening, very good food and very friendly service

I discovered this restaurant for regional dishes by chance and was immediately impressed. There is little vegetarian food on offer, but the meat selection is very diverse and that's a good thing. The dishes are really big and you'll really feel full. I'd love to come back for the pub feeling and the Cologne tapas are a totally original idea. Keep it up and see you next time!

Outstanding food with great atmosphere and service

The Little Bell is Cologne's oldest artists' bar and definitely a must when staying in Cologne. For eating I can recommend the double rib chop and the pork knuckle. Both were really excellent. If you want to eat there on the weekend, it's best to make a reservation or bring your time. Because the restaurant is always very busy.

Update 9/21/24 Unfortunately the worm was in today. Sauerbraten (from horse) was sometimes very tough (who knows how many times the lazy one has trotted to Laramy) and red cabbage was simply "very strange" in taste including the color of a light purple. Kerstin explained that they have no influence on this because things like red cabbage are delivered that way. It may be due to a lack of staff if you cannot prepare yourself. However, they were fair enough to offer a different choice of food. We then politely declined. We would have wished that they would have been more forthcoming and perhaps offered a drink or a snack. So be it. Overall, it's a shame today

More important than food is the attitude toward customers. Germans are friendly. However, it was okay for the men, but the racist attitude towards the female employees, who just didn't say anything, was very unfavorable to the female employees. It was very unpleasant. I have been to more than 40 countries including Europe, the United States and North America, but not this place. I absolutely do not recommend it.

Traditional, cozy Cologne restaurant with good service, very tasty Rhineland cuisine and always a fresh Kölsch. Thanks to its central location in a quiet side street, you can linger here in peace and quiet even on busy days and recover from the hustle and bustle.

It was on the list for a long time because I only knew good reports and now it's done. A great schnitzel was served and the goulash soup was almost a complete meal. A very well filled terrine with lots of meat. Great in taste and spicy as it should be. You can treat yourself to that again.

Enjoyed my time at the "little bell". Food was excellent. Be sure to be careful with their fancy tables as they can be quite protective.

Somewhere between 3 and 4 stars... Meon Cordon bleu was delicious, but the side dishes of fried potatoes and salad lacked the “zing”. My partner's schnitzel ended up with a lot of oil on his plate. Even though there were only ten guests there, I had to ask for a new Kölsch twice. Wasn't that great for me.

Delicious Kölsch and friendly service

Easily the best bratwurst and sauerkraut I have had in Germany. Add the wonderful food to the cozy atmosphere and attentive and sweet serving mädchen and you have a fantastic evening in Köln. There was even a real German Shepherd in the bar! It is places like these that make it an easy business trip.

Small, rustic pub Artists' pub with brewery specialties and Kölsch. Quaintly small and familiar. The menu is typical and the food is good, all the dishes were tasty and fresh. The skin of the brewery knuckle was crispy and the side dishes were good. The prices are reasonable.

Cozy little pub near the (not yet finished) opera and the opera passage and the Glockengasse home of a well-known perfume producer. Parking in the Opera Passage. The food is good and like home-made. Friendly staff

Went there several times to eat good home cooking. Whether schnitzel with vegetables and fried potatoes or heaven and earth... simple and delicious 😋 If you order the crispy knuckle, you should be prepared to wait, it takes up to 3/4 hours. But it's worth the wait!

Cozy little brewery with honest, good cuisine, nice service and delicious Kölsch. A nice balance to the large breweries that have arrived in the system catering industry. In the small bell you will find Cologne as it should be.

Stopped in her with my wife cause we saw it on “parts unknown” and it really lived up to the hype. The atmosphere made us feel like we could sit there for hours.

We “just” wanted to go out for a quick bite to eat in the evening and the evening turned out to be one of the most beautiful of our stays in Cologne. We had a very attentive service who was able to recommend all the delicacies on offer. We had the rump steak 200g, a Wienerschnitzel and the house specialty, the "Glockenschnitzel", each with fried potatoes and a side salad. All 3 variants were very tasty and filling. That evening there was an event group at the next table with whom we had some casual conversations, so we were happy to spend a little longer in this restaurant.

Schönes kleines Restaurant in der Altstadt vom Köln. Etwas versteckt gelegen aber absolut einen Besuch Wert. Personal sehr freundlich und schnell. Es gibt sowohl Stehtische als auch Sitzgelegenheiten. Speisen sehr lecker und zum fairen Preis. Rheinischer Sauerbraten sehr lecker. Hier auch noch traditionnell aus Pferdefleisch.

Sympathische Wirtin, netter Service, leckeres Essen und faire Preise. Es wird alles geboten, was man für einen schönen Abend braucht - und das schon seit vielen Jahren.

Wer eine echt urige kölsche Kneipe mit guter Küche sucht sollte hier einkehren. Das Personal ist super nett und die Toiletten sind sehr sauber. Also Top!!!

Rheinischer Sauerbraten perfekt! Die Standardspezialität eines kölnischen Wirtshauses: Haxe; viel zu kleiner Teller und völlig versalzen. Vielleicht eine Pannenhaxe?

Tolle Kneipe, seit vielen Jahren ein Geheimtipp als Künstlerkneipe mit sehr leckerem gut bürgerlichen Essen in guter Qualität. Das Bier war ausgezeichnet und reichlich vorhanden.......!

Very nice place for beer lovers. Mostly locals which is what I like in places like this.

Die "Kleine Glocke" ist für mich eine der besten kölschen Kneipen die es gibt. Das Bier wird aus 20 Liter Fässern gezapft und ist dadurch immer frisch & kalt. Die Speisen sind vom Metthäppchen über das Schnitzel bis zur Haxe unglaublich lecker und frisch zubereitet (man hört immer wie die Schnitzel geklopft werden😊). Meine Essensempfehlung: Hasenfleisch mit Endiviensalat und unbedingt Senf dazu bestellen 😍 Als "Nachspeise" empfehle ich den selbstgemachten Eierlikör👌 Der Service-Team ist auf Zack und immer super gelaunt! Am Wochenende unbedingt vorher reservieren oder ab 16:00 Uhr vor der Tür stehen. @Glocken-Team --> Macht weiter so😎

Op en top gezellig plekje in Keulen. Heerlijk traditioneel Keuls eten met een lekker biertjd erbij. Niet duur, leuk terras, op 250m van de winkelstraten. Kijk ook eens rond naar de kunst.

Doch doch..es gibt "sie" noch. Die kleine Kneipe in der Glockengasse. Kölsches Ambiente, Ureinwohner/innen vor u. hinter der Theke. FRÜH Kölsch aus dem Pittermännchen, Möppcher, halv Hähncher für den kleinen Hunger. Lecker Essen frisch serviert, Suurbroode vumm Pääd, unschlagbar. Mann Frau Immis sind per Du was sagst du? Wir sagen... empfehlenswert. Öffnungszeiten vorher juggeln...

Wir waren als Gruppe hier, das Essen war mittelmäßig und der Personal leider absolut überfordert gewesen.

I stayed one night in Koln for work and after a busy day at a fair I have been so happy to find this place! Good local food, friendly staff, fresh beer…I strongly recommend a stop in this lovely brasserie (even if you are a woman travelling alone!)

Völlige Überforderung des Personals bei vollem Laden. Essen vergessen teilweise falsches Essen auf dem Tisch. Zum Schluss gab es anstatt einer richtigen Rechnung eine Zwischenrechnung. Das haben wir aber erst später bemerkt. Viel Spaß mit dem extra Trinkgeld…

Leider lief der Abend, an dem wir dort waren, anders als erwartet. Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe vorangekündigt und hatten unser Essen vorbestellt. Trotzdem verging zwischen dem Servieren vom ersten und letzten Essen mehr als eine Stunde. Der Service war leider auch nicht so freundlich und zügig, wie man es aus anderen Kölner Lokalität gewohnt ist. Mit der Gruppengröße war man schlicht überfordert.

Eigentlich dachte ich, dass wir dort einen schönen Abend mit Kollegen verbracht hätten. Allerdings folgte das unschöne Ende einen Tag später - mit einer gesalzen Email von der Inhaberin, wir sind dort nun unerwünscht und verstehen gar nicht, wieso, denn es gab vorher zu keiner Zeit Beschwerden oder Hinweise von der Kleinen Glocke. Dass wir sehr lange auf das vorbestellte Essen warten mussten (1 Stunde zwischen dem ersten und dem letzten Gericht, eine Offenbarung war mein Cordon Bleu dann tatsächlich auch nicht), ok.... Dass der Kellner keinen gute Tag erwischt hat, um es mal charmant auszudrücken, ok.... Dass wir selbstständig das Geschirr abgeräumt und zur Essensausgabe gebracht haben, weil es sonst niemand weggeräumt hat, ok.... In der Gastronomie fehlt es ja bekanntlich an Personal. Dass es dann in einer Gruppe mit 30 Personen auch mal was lauter werden kann, ok... Zu keinem Zeitpunkt ist es aber über das zumutbare Maß hinausgegangen, es war auch keiner sehr betrunken (Wie schon geschrieben, wir mussten ja auch immer sehr lange warten), es gab auch während unserer Anwesenheit keinerlei Beschwerden von Seiten des Personals oder der Inhaberin. Übrigens wurde ein 4stelliger Umsatz generiert, aber gut. Wahrscheinlich haben wir das intellektuelle Niveau der anderen Gäste in der Künstlerkneipe einfach nicht erreicht. Daher kann ich hier keine Empfehlung aussprechen, schon gar nicht als Gruppe.
