It was a fantastic evening with perfect food and service that left nothing to be desired.

10-star plus in every respect. A chance discovery turned into a truly memorable experience. Many thanks to the entire team. Not only did we eat incredibly well (the presentation of the dishes was a masterpiece), but the service was also extremely attentive and wonderful with the children. The children's cappuccino at the end was the perfect finishing touch. Everyone, young and old, was happy and satisfied. Thank you for the wonderful break!

Unfortunately, the food wasn't very hot. Truffle mayonnaise should be served separately, as is customary in the Netherlands. Not everyone likes it. Three side dishes were therefore left uneaten. It was just fries, but with the soup starter, everyone was still full. The tipping system for card payments is quite peculiar.

We had a wonderful wedding reception in the small castle. The food, the staff, and the atmosphere were perfect.

Still the restaurant with the best food in Oldenburg. My wife and I prefer going out for lunch to dinner. In this small castle, there's always a good selection of dishes at lunchtime, promising a special taste experience. This promise is kept every time! The meat and fish are cooked to perfection, and the side dishes are sometimes unusual but always a delicious addition. Yes, the prices are higher than they were two years ago, but I think the costs for ingredients, energy, and wages have increased much, much more. In any case, we'd rather spend a little more because the friendly and efficient service always serves truly great food. Please keep up the good work!

At first, the service was very attentive... then it deteriorated considerably. Strangely, this time it was the same again.

We had a wonderful evening with 11 ladies, with super friendly service and delicious food. If we're ever in Oldenburg again, we'd love to come back.

Excellent food, delicious drinks, great service, and a pleasant atmosphere. The meat and fish in the main courses were perfectly cooked, and the sauces and side dishes were delicious. Only the dessert, "Sweet Peace," could have been improved; the green tea sponge lacked flavor, and the chocolate stones were a bit bland and undercooked. The creme brulee, on the other hand, was excellent. Overall, 5 out of 5 for the delicious aperitifs, the excellent main course, and the excellent service.

I had dinner yesterday and I had one of the worst risottos in my life (and I’ve tried a lot!!) we had to leave after only 40 min of giving it a chance! It’s so horrible that I am traumatised I will never eat risottos again. Who came up with this menu😬 I saw a lot of fusions in my life but this is so bad, if you are not able to make a good fusion then stick to the classics. I had a fungi risotto bit it was with carrots and tomates and other stuff I didn’t know about and it was just very bad. Thy put some kind of salad on top half of it was yellow and nearly old and rotting, I asked for parmesan, they brought me big pieces what am I supposed to do with them? For expensive meals I expected restaurants to have grinded parmesan its really basics. And there was no privacy the table are so close to each other that poeple were staring to us! I just want to forget my experience, 200 waiters just to have a horrible experience, for 100 euros. The lady who served was very very nice though, the problem is with the restaurant’s concept, please germany make effort in gastronomy, hire professionals!! Wow 🤣 very professional response, exactly how you make your food. I was polite with the waitresses because they were the only good thing in that restaurant and I took the risotto in a bag with me just for respect to the waitresses and honestly I had no hope to share it with you there I did not think you would offer anything better and my husband had the same opinion, you have to learn how to accept critics if you want to improve :) sorry for being honest and harsh. My mental health is so well don’t worry I will recover from the trauma and the money we spent for that « « « «  Dish » » » »

Sorry, my expectations were different: The Königsberger meatballs were dry, there were no traces of capers, the mashed potatoes were lightly salted, there was barely any sauce, and they had no flavor of their own. There was no espresso for dessert (the machine was broken). Considering the restaurant's reputation, I was really disappointed.

We've enjoyed lunch several times and have never been disappointed. The staff is very attentive, friendly, and competent!

The lunch menu was surprisingly varied

We recently dined at the "Kleine Burg" on a Saturday evening and can highly recommend it. Isabel served us attentively and very friendly throughout the evening. The food arrived for four people at the same time and was delicious and fresh. Due to a small mishap (a wine glass broke on the floor), we all got a free drink, and my father even got dessert! The rest of us were well-fed by the starter and main course. The Kleine Burg is a great place for a special evening. We'd love to come back.

More or less by chance, we stumbled upon this small and exquisite restaurant in Oldenburg's pedestrian zone. Our visit (unfortunately, due to time constraints, at lunchtime, not in the evening) turned out to be an absolute culinary highlight. The owner is a consummate restaurateur, quality-conscious, always with an eye on the guests, but never seems rushed and always has a kind word for her guests. The very attentive waitress, who was on her first (!) day of work at the castle, was also very, very professional and friendly. Our lunch (crispy fried pike-perch, pea puree with fresh mint, kohlrabi with grapefruit, accompanied by a perfect beurre blanc) was soooo delicious; on top of that, the price-performance ratio was perfect. I think a reservation is also advisable for lunch; the restaurant was completely full yesterday around 1:00 p.m. Our conclusion: we'll be back again; we look forward to an evening visit! Update from September 30th: Wonderful!

Dear "Kleine-Burg-Team," we were guests with eight people (a reunion of former university friends) - thank you so much for letting us be there. Our assessments of the evening are mixed. We thought it was great that they even made a lot of effort to get a table for eight people; thank you very much. The food - we agree on this too - was of high quality and everyone enjoyed it. However, the portions were sometimes quite small (even two of our wives weren't full), and the prices were also sometimes exorbitant: €30 + x for veal schnitzel or turbot is okay, but €16 for pana cotta is not appropriate in our opinion. The service seemed somewhat listless (yes, we were the last guests...) and not particularly professional (at times, drinks were left unpaid on the bill, and we were insistently told that we would have to pay anyway until the waiter found the mistake on the house's side, without any apology). The card payment process also felt like attempted coercion: Three tip levels are offered (along with a freely selectable option) – and the LOWEST level is 12(!)%?!? I clicked on the 12% option myself – and I'm annoyed in retrospect. I don't think that's good form, even though it was explicitly stated that you don't have to choose any of the options. All in all, the evening was okay, but it didn't live up to the memories of a few years ago, which is a shame. I don't think we'll be back.

A wonderful evening! Upon arrival, I received a warm welcome and immediately felt welcome. To my surprise, the team had lovingly prepared the table, with balloons and many little touches that made the evening truly special. The food was outstanding: fresh, delicious, and prepared with great care. You can tell that quality and taste are important here. The service was also attentive, friendly, and warm at all times. Located on a side street in Oldenburg, it's the perfect place for outdoor seating. Friendly, attentive, and caring service (we had our dog with us, who was immediately given water). The food was delicious, both pleasing to the eye and pleasing to the palate.

The dishes were beautifully presented, and the flavors were incomparably delicious! Update: We always enjoy going there for lunch to indulge in culinary delights at an excellent price-performance ratio. We've never been disappointed. The two of us were here for lunch. We got one of the last available seats. Despite the restaurant being full, the wait for our food was minimal. The starter was a soup with a very intense flavor. For the main course, we had beef cheeks with carrot and ginger mousse and baked polenta, as well as chicken thighs with creamed savoy cabbage and bread dumplings. Both were divine; I've never eaten such a tender piece of meat. If I'm ever in Oldenburg again during the week, I'll definitely go there for lunch again.

A lot of fuss for nothing - for the price, the great creations unfortunately don't taste great. What a pity!! Update 08/25: Nothing has changed. The waiters provided excellent service, which seemed exceptionally polite and professional - 3 stars for that! At least here, the value for money is good. The vegetarian options were a bit limited, but that's probably due to the summer menu.

Today, on our way back from vacation, we made a short stop in Oldenburg. We stopped at the Kleine Burg restaurant. I can only say it was fantastic. The service was very attentive and super friendly. We opted for the lunch menu, consisting of a starter, a main course, and a dessert. All the dishes were prepared with very high-quality ingredients, were very fresh, and tasted excellent. We found the price-performance ratio for the lunch menu to be exceptionally fair. We would definitely come back.

A lovely little restaurant with very friendly and attentive service. The prices are reasonable, especially since the portions were unexpectedly large. We're big eaters, but we had trouble finishing the portions; we each had a starter and a main course. I particularly want to highlight my starter: hummus shawarma – absolutely delicious! (Photo). The tuna deserves a small point deduction: Although I had previously asked the waiter that it was only briefly seared on both sides, it wasn't "rare" enough for me. But that's certainly a matter of personal taste. I definitely recommend "Die kleine Burg" (The Little Castle).

A top-class restaurant without equal: The food is of the highest quality and creatively prepared, turning a meal into a mini-exploration on your own plate, with every stop inviting new taste experiences! The whole experience is rounded out by the novel idea of offering non-alcoholic beverages. The mixed drinks (one example was a non-alcoholic martini espresso) were varied and flavorful, leaving no room for boredom in the glass. Whoever tells me you need alcohol to have a variety of drinks? When it comes to staff, this little castle always proves to have a good touch. In addition to the fact that the owner herself lends a hand, great attention has been paid to ensuring customer-friendly yet competent staff. Whenever I go shopping in Oldenburg, I have to have lunch at the "Kleine Burg." A truly delicious meal, lovingly prepared and presented. Whether with meat, vegetarian, or even vegan, it's simply highly recommended. And the service is attentive, friendly, and welcoming.

We had a wonderful 49th wedding anniversary evening at the "Burg"! The menu was excellent; sophisticated, creative, and very tasty. The service was very friendly, unobtrusive but attentive. As a welcome, we received a glass of Prosecco from the hotel to mark the occasion, and a heart-shaped balloon floated over our table!

Everything was great from the service to the food

After hearing good things from friends, we came to dinner with high expectations. And it was truly fantastic. A menu with something for every taste, super friendly and attentive service, and creatively and exquisitely presented food. We had the ox cheeks, and they blew us away. The value for money was absolutely justified. We'd happily go back anytime.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed yesterday. We come regularly for lunch and look forward to the fish dish. After we returned our food because the fish and purée were lukewarm, a server rushed to our table to find out exactly which parts of the meal were lukewarm. This server informed us in an inappropriate and patronizing tone that the salad and gazpacho were served cold. I find it incomprehensible how she took it for granted that we were unaware of this. When our food was brought back to our table, we discovered that the fish and purée were hot, but unfortunately, so were the gazpacho and salad. No other server came to our table to ask if everything was okay. Furthermore, I find it outrageous that the minimum tip for digital payment is 12% of the total.

Unfortunately, the tuna smelled a bit fishy... I wouldn't have offered it again!!!!!:-((

I was looking for a nice restaurant with exceptionally good food in Oldenburg and came across the "Little Castle"... The occasion was a birthday, and I wanted something a little better than usual... My expectations were high, but they were even exceeded in terms of food and taste... The stylish decor and perfect service round out the overall package. We give it 12 out of 10 points; the "Little Castle" impressed across the board...! I'd love to come back here. Too bad I don't live nearby, otherwise I'd be a regular here...!
