Kleine Burg in Oldenburg (Oldb)

We celebrated our wedding with a wonderful dinner at the Kleine Burg. The Kleine Burg has been our favorite restaurant in Oldenburg for several years, and the perfect wedding evening confirmed this once again. The ambiance at the Kleine Burg is beautiful and very cozy. For our special occasion with 19 people, we had a private room available, which was beautifully decorated. The service at the Kleine Burg has been excellent on all our previous visits! The waiters are incredibly attentive and friendly. A huge compliment goes to the kitchen for the fantastic food! Special requests were fully accommodated. I could eat 10 portions of the "Avocado Goat" appetizer every day. Depending on the season, there are always new dishes, so regular visits are worthwhile. Dear Kleine Burg: Keep up the good work! We look forward to continuing to celebrate our special occasions with you.

We always feel very comfortable in the small castle and love the fresh, refined and very high quality cuisine! For our little son there were not only painting supplies already set out, but also a few kids' menus. We can really recommend this restaurant, whether for business, wedding or family dinner - always a good choice in Oldenburg!

The food in the Kleine Burg is very good, not cheap but worth the price Unfortunately, the service was in a bit of a hurry to get off work and the enjoyment of the food and drinks was somewhat spoiled.

Have been to this restaurant several times. We really enjoyed the food again. The service is very friendly, fast and competent. Will definitely come back. Price-performance ratio is right (except for the drinks, which we find a bit too expensive).

We had a three-course meal with a few extra requests and it was wonderful. The food was excellent, the wine pairing was delicate, the waiter was attentive, informative and humorous. Clear recommendation.

First of all… the food was fantastic! We chose the lunch menu. It was really delicious 😋 But…the soup came before the drinks. The main course had already been served and we hadn't finished eating the soup yet. The waiter took the main course back. We then heard the boss from the kitchen say that he should still serve. Sometimes less is more. Perhaps in such a case the tables should not be occupied twice.

Very courteous service and great food, highly recommended! Two small points of criticism: A greeting from the kitchen beforehand or with an aperitif would be nice and please no pre-packaged speculoos biscuits with coffee/espresso. Why not continue to be as innovative as before? Please take this as a suggestion...

Beautiful restaurant in the old walls in downtown Oldenburg. We found the portions huge, so I took a doggy bag with me for the first time.

Unfortunately our voucher for €100 was not redeemed because it supposedly had expired. This can't be allowed!! After the very tasty meal, we left the restaurant with a negative conclusion and will no longer recommend it.

I've often strolled through Oldenburg's Burgstraße, but never visited the restaurant. But then we were so excited that we went there twice a week. A very appetizing burger with crispy fries with various sauces in the lunch menu. The second time, crispy sea bream fillet with very tasty side dishes. Nice ambience with an atrium. Very friendly, attentive staff. Spontaneously chosen as my favorite restaurant for my next visit to Oldenburg. Reservations recommended for the evening

Everything was excellent, but one thing was really annoying: when paying by card, you're given a default tip amount and have to choose. It makes you feel under pressure. I still want to decide for myself, not have it imposed on me.

Nach einem perfekten (Solo-)Erlebnis im Januar 2023 habe ich die Kleine Burg zur Feier meines 50. Geburtstags ausgesucht, um meine Gäste zu einem kulinarischen Erlebnisabend einzuladen. Und der ist wirklich gelungen. Schöne Geburtstagsdeko und aufmerksamer Service - mein Weinglas (hervorragender Petit Chablis - ich wohne in Frankreich...) war nie leer! Top! Das "Signature-Dessert" der kleinen Burg, der "Waldspaziergang", hat auch meine Gäste begeistert. Ich bedanke mich nochmals ausdrücklich für einen wunderschönen Abend! Ich kann die Reservierung auf der eigenen Webseite übrigens nur empfehlen.

There were four of us here in front of the Essen Theater. It was wonderful. Modern starters and the main courses, whether fish or meat, are excellent. It was a lovely evening and we will definitely be back.

I like being a guest there. Kleine Burg is now very established and known for its good cuisine and service. I often have lunch there, invite my guests, meet my friends. I've never been disappointed. For me Kleine Burg is the best restaurant in the pedestrian zone. Highly recommended.

A small selection of outstanding courses — both classic and modern, always creative. The best restaurant I’ve tried in Oldenburg so far. Very friendly with children.

The food was good, but New Zealand lamb is not a must in Oldenburg. A little less large Wiener Schnitzel, but some vegetables would be good. What was pleasing was that the large salad could be shared and was served on two plates.

We were guests yesterday at lunchtime. Always happy to come to Oldenburg from 150 km away. We sat right at the counter, where there was a lot of noise being made while the drinks were being prepared. I come from the catering industry. This is also quieter when you are stressed! There was a spill when pouring the drink. The waitress didn't even say "sorry". I would have liked to order dessert, but we were neither asked during the meal whether we were satisfied nor after the main course for any further requests. The highlight was the payment process. The really friendly trainee put the card reader in front of me and disappeared. I had to enter everything myself and carry out the payment process. Nobody came to say goodbye and to see if the payment went through. There were three adults and one trainee in service. Things have to work better next time! Because it is the perfect service that has always impressed us so much.

As always, it was a very, very pleasant combination of great food and excellent, attentive and simply friendly service. It was a joy again!

I had lunch at this restaurant with two friends and my experience was extremely positive. The map is clear. Great importance is placed on fresh and good ingredients. The food came very quickly even though the restaurant was busy. Aaaand the food was just super delicious :). I would be happy to come back here any time I end up in Oldenburg.

We reserved a table at 8 p.m. and ordered a 3 and 4 menu. The food came very quickly, plates had to be cleared away even though we weren't finished. When dessert was supposed to come, I asked if it could wait another 10 minutes. Answer: the kitchen closes at nine o'clock!!!! After the dessert my wife felt sick, she can't tolerate finished products or semi-finished products, when asked, speechless!!!!!

We were here for my parents' silver wedding anniversary, and were very courteously served with excellent (also vegetarian) food!

They decorated it beautifully for Valentine's Day and the recommendations from the service staff were good. The food was very tasty.

Thank you for the excellent food and friendly service, especially from the young gentleman who appears to be receiving an excellent education. There is only one small complaint about the atmosphere, namely the traffic of customers without reservations, which is turned away quite harshly.

The ambience was great. The service was very courteous and helpful. The food was excellent, the main course was very filling. If I had known that, I would have skipped the starter (because of the quantity). However, I would have missed the taste experience then.

I was there with my girlfriend for my birthday and I have to honestly say that I was disappointed. We had the Angus beef and the Wiener Schnitzel Deluxe. The beef tasted good, but it was also full of fat. I couldn't see where the deluxe was hidden with the schnitzel. It was an ordinary, very dry schnitzel that I could have gotten in any snack bar for half the price. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio didn't fit at all. We would also have liked the service to ask again about drink requests during the meal. In response to our feedback, we were told: they could have called me! I simply expect more from a high-priced restaurant!

Disappointing. The burger was extremely salty, almost over-salted, the patti was crumbly, falling apart, a lot of breadcrumbs in it? The Wiener Schnitzel Deluxe was very crispy, but the breading was so thick and greasy that you couldn't taste anything of the really tender but extremely flat meat. The fries were okay, but also very greasy, and the dips served with the food were extremely tasteless. The toilet (in the second store) smelled of urine even though it looked clean. The table wobbled and was repaired in a makeshift manner, I didn't mention my chair, which was wobbling. Due to the high prices, no pity. Not again, unfortunately.

Despite having good food, the wait staff went out of their way to constantly remind us of the length of our reservation and that we would have to give up our table after 1 hour and 15 minutes. We found this to be extremely tacky and rude from a restaurant serving rather expensive food. It took 30-45 minutes to receive our food and 10 minutes for the waiter to figure out how to let us pay by card. Perhaps they should be reminding the kitchen staff of the short reservations, rather than the customers.

I was looking forward to a cozy Saturday evening. As a precaution, I presented my voucher at the beginning. Despite the Corona closure of the restaurant, my voucher was no longer redeemed because the deadline had supposedly expired. The Corona closure probably cannot be counted towards a set deadline. I tried to reach a compromise here. The boss then turned around and turned her back on me. Communication was no longer possible. The table I had previously reserved was also already taken. So the bottom line is that I really can't recommend this unfriendly shop anymore. The owner has probably never heard of service. The word comes from serving and performing. This arrogance will certainly have a negative impact in the long term.

Wow!! What a great experience! Super delicious food with the best ingredients and an exciting menu. Friendly service and sweet ambience. Also incredibly family friendly! We registered my little nephew in advance and everything was prepared for him (play box, high chair, place setting, etc.)

The ambience and service were very pleasant. The dishes, which were certainly of good quality, lacked the icing on the cake in terms of taste that would make them something special. A bottle of water for 8.50 euros just seems overpriced.

Always a pleasure! We regularly and really enjoy going to the Kleine Burg to eat. The menus are varied, creative and simply delicious. In addition to menus with meat, vegetarian or vegan menus are also always offered. Another special feature of the staff at the small castle are the aperitifs, cocktails and digestifs. Upon request and if the employees' time permits, individual beverage requests can also be fulfilled. For example, a creative non-alcoholic cocktail. We feel very comfortable there and will continue to be regular visitors.
