Every time we're in Oldenburg, a visit is a MUST! From our wedding reception to our dinner for two, we were always very satisfied – TOP!

The pumpkin soup is particularly delicious. Service is also good, making for a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Located on a side street in Oldenburg, it's the perfect place for outdoor seating. Friendly, attentive, and caring service (we had our dog with us, who was immediately given water). The food was delicious, both pleasing to the eye and pleasing to the palate.

We were there for dinner for my wife's 30th birthday and were assigned a beautifully decorated table. We both chose the 4-course menu. The dishes were beautifully presented, and the flavors were incomparably delicious! Update: We always enjoy going there for lunch to indulge in culinary delights at an excellent price-performance ratio. We've never been disappointed. The two of us were here for lunch. We got one of the last available seats. Despite the restaurant being full, the wait for our food was minimal. The starter was a soup with a very intense flavor. For the main course, we had beef cheeks with carrot and ginger mousse and baked polenta, as well as chicken thighs with creamed savoy cabbage and bread dumplings. Both were divine; I've never eaten such a tender piece of meat. If I'm ever in Oldenburg again during the week, I'll definitely go there for lunch again.

A lot of fuss for nothing - for the price, the great creations unfortunately don't taste great. What a pity!! Update 08/25: Nothing has changed. The waiters provided excellent service, which seemed exceptionally polite and professional - 3 stars for that! At least here, the value for money is good. The vegetarian options were a bit limited, but that's probably due to the summer menu.

Today, on our way back from vacation, we made a short stop in Oldenburg. We stopped at the Kleine Burg restaurant. I can only say it was fantastic. The service was very attentive and super friendly. We opted for the lunch menu, consisting of a starter, a main course, and a dessert. All the dishes were prepared with very high-quality ingredients, were very fresh, and tasted excellent. We found the price-performance ratio for the lunch menu to be exceptionally fair. We would definitely come back.

More or less by chance, we stumbled upon this small and exquisite restaurant in Oldenburg's pedestrian zone. Our visit (unfortunately, due to time constraints, at lunchtime, not in the evening) turned out to be an absolute culinary highlight. The owner is a consummate restaurateur, quality-conscious, always with an eye on the guests, but never seems rushed and always has a kind word for her customers. The very attentive waitress, who was on her first (!) day of work at the castle, was also very, very professional and friendly. Our lunch (crispy fried pike-perch, pea puree with fresh mint, kohlrabi with grapefruit, accompanied by a perfect beurre blanc) was soooo delicious; on top of that, the price-performance ratio was excellent. I think a reservation is advisable, even at lunchtime; the restaurant was completely full yesterday at around 1 p.m. Our conclusion: we'd go back again; we look forward to an evening visit!

A lovely little restaurant with very friendly and attentive service. The prices are reasonable, especially since the portions were unexpectedly large. We're big eaters, but we had trouble finishing the portions; we each had a starter and a main course. I particularly want to highlight my starter: hummus shawarma – absolutely delicious! (Photo). The tuna deserves a small point deduction: Although I had previously asked the waiter that it was only briefly seared on both sides, it wasn't "rare" enough for me. But that's certainly a matter of personal taste. I definitely recommend "Die kleine Burg" (The Little Castle).

There were five of us there, including two children. The food was absolutely delicious, and our children's wishes were catered for. The service was also excellent! We'd love to come back.

A top-class restaurant without equal: The food is of the highest quality and creatively prepared, turning a meal into a mini-exploration on your own plate, with every stop inviting new taste experiences! The whole experience is rounded out by the novel idea of offering non-alcoholic beverages. The mixed drinks (one example was a non-alcoholic martini espresso) were varied and flavorful, leaving no room for boredom in the glass. Whoever tells me you need alcohol to have a variety of drinks? When it comes to staff, this little castle always proves to have a good touch. In addition to the fact that the owner herself lends a hand, great attention has been paid to ensuring customer-friendly yet competent staff. You immediately notice that the employees are wholeheartedly committed to their work, and guests feel very welcome. I'm looking forward to my next visit and will be happy to provide more photos! Whenever I go shopping in Oldenburg, I have to have lunch at the "Kleine Burg." A truly delicious meal, lovingly prepared and presented. Whether with meat, vegetarian, or even vegan, it's simply highly recommended. And the service is attentive, friendly, and welcoming.

We had a wonderful 49th wedding anniversary evening at the "Burg"! The menu was excellent; sophisticated, creative, and very tasty. The service was very friendly, unobtrusive but attentive. As a welcome, we received a glass of Prosecco from the hotel to mark the occasion, and a heart-shaped balloon floated over our table!

We celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary there. They specially decorated a conveniently located table for us. If you want to go out to eat even though you're a good cook, this is the place for you.

Everything was great from the service to the food

After hearing good things from friends, we came to dinner with high expectations. And it was truly fantastic. A menu with something for every taste, super friendly and attentive service, and creatively and exquisitely presented food. We had the ox cheeks, and they blew us away. The value for money was absolutely justified. We'd happily go back anytime.

Unfortunately, the tuna smelled a bit fishy... I wouldn't have offered it again!!!!!:-((

Wonderful ambiance and extremely friendly staff when booking our table. The food was good overall, except for the "Norwegian Lobster," which was old and dry. It was quite busy, and the service was a bit slow...

Unfortunately, we were disappointed yesterday. We come regularly for lunch and look forward to the fish dish. After we returned our food because the fish and purée were lukewarm, a server rushed to our table to find out exactly which parts of the meal were lukewarm. This server informed us in an inappropriate and patronizing tone that the salad and gazpacho were served cold. I find it incomprehensible how she took it for granted that we were unaware of this. When our food was brought back to our table, we discovered that the fish and purée were hot, but unfortunately, so were the gazpacho and salad. No other server came to our table to ask if everything was okay. Furthermore, I find it outrageous that the minimum tip for digital payment is 12% of the total.

We went there for dinner in June 2025. We first went to the "Kleine Burg" about 10 years ago and were delighted to see it's still there! The food is absolutely delicious. We ordered the burgers. They were amazing, and the fries were fantastic! Please keep up the good work! You're truly amazing! We'll definitely be back!

I was looking for a nice restaurant with exceptionally good food in Oldenburg and came across the "Little Castle"... The occasion was a birthday, and I wanted something a little better than usual... My expectations were high, but they were even exceeded in terms of food and taste... The stylish decor and perfect service round out the overall package. We give it 12 out of 10 points; the "Little Castle" impressed across the board...! I'd love to come back here. Too bad I don't live nearby, otherwise I'd be a regular here...!

Der Kartoffelbrei mit Meerrettich war fluffig, lecker und perfekt im Geschmack. Das Fellchen knusprig gebraten, ohne trocken zu sein. Und die Gemüse….. endlich mal eine Küche, die Gemüse kann. Der PakChoi war knackig grün und ein Genuss. Genau wie die bunten kleinen Paprikas. Optisch und geschmacklich war mein Teller, so wie ich es mir eigentlich von jedem Restaurant wünsche. Die meisten bekommen das leider nicht hin. Der Service war genauso ambitioniert und sehr nett. Ungekünstelt und aufmerksam. Würde ich in Oldenburg wohnen, wäre die Kleine Burg mein Stammlokal.

This evening was a gift to my in-laws – and it became an experience they will talk about for a long time. From the moment we were greeted by the warm, smiling service team, it became clear: hospitality is not just lived here, but celebrated. The atmosphere was warm, stylish, and at the same time relaxed – a place where you arrive and immediately unwind. For my in-laws, they were served fresh asparagus with burrata as an appetizer – a harmonious interplay of textures and flavors. The freshness of the asparagus, the delicate melting of the burrata, and a hint of citrus – a prelude that left us wanting more. The following main course – schnitzel with once again perfectly cooked asparagus – impressed not only with its quality, but also with the subtle interplay of tradition and refinement. The breading was golden yellow and crispy, yet so finely balanced that the tender meat inside wasn't overpowered. With every bite, you could sense that a master of his craft was in the kitchen. I would particularly like to highlight the wine pairing. The selection was not only harmonious, but also excellently matched to the individual courses. Each drop elegantly enhanced the respective dish and perfectly rounded off the experience. You could tell that someone had put a lot of thought into it – and this attention to detail continued throughout the entire evening. To my in-laws' great regret, they had to reluctantly cancel dessert – not because it wasn't tempting, but because the portions were so generous and filling that there was simply no room left. And that, too, speaks to the generosity and quality of this establishment. In conclusion, all I can say is that the Kleine Burg is much more than a restaurant. It's a place where cuisine, service, and atmosphere converge at the highest level – supported by a team that puts its heart and soul into its work. It was a perfect evening for my in-laws. Unassuming from the outside, it's outstanding on the inside! The service is top-notch, with every detail thought of. The most important thing, of course, is the food, which was top-notch. Last but not least, I also have to praise the little things: the restrooms had all sorts of hygiene products, from deodorant to cream!

I can't rate the food because, after discussing our seating with the waitress, we were ignored for 10 minutes... The Kleine Burg has been our favorite restaurant in Oldenburg for several years and the perfect wedding evening confirmed this once again. The atmosphere in the small castle is beautiful and very cozy. For our special event with 19 people, we had our own room, which was beautifully decorated. The service in the Kleine Burg has been top on all of our previous visits! The waiters are incredibly attentive and friendly. A big compliment goes to the kitchen for the fantastic food! Special requests were fully addressed. I could eat 10 portions of the “Avocado Goat” appetizer every day. Depending on the season, there are always new dishes, so it's worth visiting regularly. Dear Little Castle: Keep it up! We look forward to continuing to celebrate our special occasions with you.

Beautiful restaurant in the old walls in downtown Oldenburg. We found the portions huge, so I took a doggy bag with me for the first time.

Very courteous service and great food, highly recommended! Two small points of criticism: A greeting from the kitchen beforehand or with an aperitif would be nice and please no pre-packaged speculoos biscuits with coffee/espresso. Why not continue to be as innovative as before? Please take this as a suggestion...
