Kleine Burg in Oldenburg (Oldb)

Excellent cuisine, attentive and young service in a very welcoming environment.

While looking for lunch, I came across the “Little Castle”. Right near the greatest delicatessen in Oldenburg, I thought I had to go in there. And wow - I wasn't disappointed. Stylish and modern atmosphere, very good food at a more than fair price. I also liked that non-alcoholic aperitifs and the lunch menu offered vegetarian dishes, fish and meat. I was impressed by the service, which I have only very, very rarely experienced with such professionalism. I've been to much more expensive, some of them "starred" restaurants, which can learn a lot from this. Even though it was a bit crooked, someone was always keeping an eye on the tables and guests, you were greeted in a friendly manner, treated and asked questions; you really feel like a guest here. I definitely have to try it in the evening.

Yesterday we were guests with 4 people. The food was really great. No matter whether pasta, steak, schnitzel or fish. Everything tasted excellent. The starters were also great. The tomato jam was an absolute highlight. The service was also great and very attentive.

A very positive restaurant experience in the north for us spoiled connoisseurs of French and Alpine cuisine. Delicious, original dishes on a clear menu, but less is actually more here. Very charming ambience and perfect, friendly service made for a very nice, cozy evening. Gladly again!

Small but nice, small castle with lots of space. The restaurant consists of two buildings. Not connected, but next to each other. Both are set up the same. The main course can be upgraded to include soup/salad and dessert for an additional charge. Our food was good and tasted good.

Little disappointed from the duck….it was not that tender as for a year…otherwise one of my favorite places to dine in Oldenburg.

Very cute place. My chosen meal was very good. However, the potato pancakes in the main course didn't taste like anything. There was a complete lack of salt. Otherwise the dish was very tasty, although there was a bit too little fish and unfortunately the fish was without salt, pepper and lemon, I know otherwise. For the starter, the amount of avocado was too much and the goat cheese wasn't enough on the plate. So the goat cheese was completely lost in terms of taste. The gamba was excellent. The crème brulée was also great. I didn't try the sorbet because my neighbor at the table ate it because she didn't like the crème brulée. All in all, it was a successful evening, even if it was very, very expensive. Oh… and the wine! Unfortunately, it didn't really taste great for such an upscale atmosphere. And I wasn't alone with this opinion that evening! This should be improved!

The service was sweet! The food was incredibly tasty and presented in an extremely appetizing manner. The restaurant is beautifully and comfortably furnished. 10/10!! (Please put more chestnuts on the menu :)

The food was okay, the wine was completely overpriced, and I also find it annoying to be constantly asked for a "review". For us it was the last visit to your establishment.

There were three of us and we were welcomed into a cozy atmosphere. The menu has something for everyone. I decided on a vegan Rösti. As a starter we had a Bort variation. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Good value for money. The filling of the Rösti was “hard on the salt” but the complaints here are at a high level. The service was ok. Two people took turns serving us. I was there for the first time. Some of the explanation was missing for me. Drinks menu does not include the complete offer. When asked, the response was irritated. No thanks for the already generous tip. Sometimes the circumstances make it so, so I would like to come back again!

It is always a very pleasant experience to eat at the Kleine Burg. The dishes are imaginatively and lovingly prepared. The employees are very friendly. You feel comfortable and are always satisfied.

Although we come from Hanover, we stop by the small castle every time on the way to East Frisia. Not only is it a very nice location, the food is of top quality and always on point. The service is very attentive and really friendly. It's a shame that the little castle isn't available everywhere - or maybe not right now, otherwise it wouldn't be so unique anymore.

The food was great! Very exciting preparation and beautifully presented, accompanied by an excellent red wine and a very attentive and friendly service - all in all a well-rounded affair! Since the menu changes relatively often, you look forward to your next visit.

Unfortunately the room wasn't that warm. Maybe it was because the weather was disgusting.

The service was very good. All of our wishes were immediately fulfilled, from the request for a seat, a little more lemon fizz in the Alster, additional mashed potatoes with the meal, and none of this appeared on the bill! That's what I call excellent service, and that's for lunch!! I had a similar experience with my husband in the “little castle” on our first wedding anniversary! Highly recommended!! My wolffish fillet was again a visual highlight and also tasted very good. The portion size was also very good! 5 stars from me! I would love to come back!! Christine

Very tasty starter and main course. Unfortunately, the dessert didn't top the menu. It was difficult to eat and didn't taste great. I expected more. Overall, I found the price-performance ratio to be a bit excessive. Unfortunately, the acoustics in the rooms are not that good. All the tables were occupied and when all the conversations were going on, it was difficult to understand each other.

We received a voucher for a meal with you. We didn't know your restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised by the ambience. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated. The waitress (young man) did his job perfectly. He was friendly, always present but not intrusive. The food was very tasty, but unfortunately my beef cheeks were no longer warm. The food was very tasty. The special combination of vegetables, potatoes and beef made the meal special. We'll definitely come back. LG

We sat at a table in the right room by the “passage”. I found it relatively cold there because the door was often opened or not completely closed when smokers went out. Despite the vestibule, it wasn't that comfortable. Since we had only spontaneously reserved a table in the morning, we thought it was nice to have been accepted at all. Everything else was fine. Very nice thing. We have had lunch here about 8 times now and it is a party every time. This time, for the first time, the three of us sat in the adjacent building. While in the regular section there can sometimes be some hustle and bustle due to the passage, as well as the bar and kitchen, this section is all tranquil, partly due to the color scheme and lighting. Even when it's completely full. The gentleman serving is very friendly and efficient, he should be able to work directly in our catering company. The other people in the service are also wonderfully hospitable. What comes out of the kitchen is always excellent and the portions are generous. We would love to come here again.

Based on the description on your menu, I couldn't really imagine the taste of the dish, but it was very good. Atmosphere good, background noise quiet good for any conversation. Recommended and definitely try it out.

I deducted points for the ambience because the noise level is extremely high. For me that was difficult to endure. The rest of the ambience of the restaurant is very nice. Maybe something could be done to soundproof so that you can relax a bit while eating, which was excellent as always.

Very cozy atmosphere, great clear menu, extremely delicious food, very committed and really nice service. Price-performance okay. The only drawback that I would have liked to have known beforehand, since I was on a business trip and only had a limited choice of wardrobe: the ventilation in the guest rooms is really bad. After the visit, the clothes smelled unpleasant and persistently like food. Here it would be worth investing in the ventilation system. And at 9:45 p.m. we were the last guests and it felt right to leave, otherwise we would have liked to stay a moment longer.

We recently had the pleasure of spending a very nice evening in the Little Castle. We thoroughly enjoyed the 4-course menu, which was offered with both a wine accompaniment and a non-alcoholic beverage accompaniment. Both options were well matched to the dishes and provided a pleasant accompaniment to the meal. A special highlight for us was the gazpacha, but we were also pleasantly surprised by the seafood intermediate dish and the various components, especially the pickled onion and the pulp. The combination of flavors was harmonious and well thought out. The service was also very pleasant. Our waiter Erkan looked after us with great friendliness and an attentive feeling for our wishes. Both the wines and the dishes were explained to us charmingly and with background knowledge, which further enriched the evening. Overall, we had a very nice evening in the Kleine Burg and can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience.

Friendly little restaurant, with a modern but always measured kitchen. You can eat well here for a moderate amount of money and the house wine is always correct. It is my regular address for lunch in Oldenburg.

As a regular guest, I have never been disappointed. The presentation and variety of side dishes always surprises. Excellent food and super motivated service, skilfully managed by Lina. The Little Castle is my #1.

Food is good, service is good too but the ambience is not good at all, tables are too narrow, no privacy and lighting is rather functional, eating and getting out is actually not our thing given the prices but unfortunately necessary due to the circumstances shown. We won't come back.

We had a wonderful evening. The atmosphere is very tastefully decorated and cozy. The service employee was very courteous and competent. Not intrusive and remarkably friendly. We chose the lamb dish. Our food exceeded our expectations and was of very good quality. Prepared with a special sophistication and worth the high price. It would be desirable to receive a small greeting from the kitchen as an entree, even if it was just some bread with a dip. We felt very comfortable and will certainly come back

Wir waren das erste Mal in der Kleinen Burg, da wir einen Gutschein zur Hochzeit bekommen haben. Wir haben jeder 3 verschiedene Gänge aus der Speisekarte gewählt und es hat uns außerordentlich gut gefallen. Das Essen war wirklich top. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Really nice reception at the door, a very attractive and accessible menu with a good selection for meat lovers but also vegetarians. Fast table service, a professional but warm and friendly staff. The starters and main courses were all fresh, some perfectly hot, and served at the same time, the glasses were always refilled before they could be empty. The waiting time was very short and reasonable. With 7 people with different main courses, there wasn't anyone who wasn't completely enthusiastic about their dish. The recommendation for meat lovers at this point was the saddle of Feersisch beef, although it was the most expensive dish but worth every euro as it was the best meat I've ever tasted have eaten! The music was very quiet and despite the full dining room we were able to have a good conversation at the table. At the end, the service let the evening end for us in a pleasantly discreet manner. The experience absolutely justifies the price, we had no doubt about that after our visit there. We went home very full and happy.
