Kimbap Spot in Bochum

Honestly one of my favorite places here in Bochum, the food is always divine!

Great service, very friendly and fast, the completely vegan food was also delivered quickly to the table. The bipimbap and broccoli bowl are delicious and (as far as I can tell) authentically Korean. The atmosphere also has something special with its different tables and chairs.

Nice selection of vegan Korean dishes at a good price-performance ratio. Tastes great and freshly prepared, plus very friendly staff.

Unfortunately, the Kimbap spot has decreased significantly compared to 2024. We have always been a fan of Dinner 4 2, unfortunately it has been significantly reduced for the same price. It was divided into Starter 4 2 and Dinner 4 2, in the former everything seems to be without sushi (rice), while the dinner has everything with sushi (rice). For us, Dinner 4 2 was always something you could try anywhere, but now it has become a small, cluttered-looking sushi platter with hardly anything else on it. Too bad! Could you have written it on the card...

Unfortunately disappointed. Ramen not as diverse and spicy as you are used to. Unfortunately it was only served lukewarm. Bowl was ok, but again not enough variety. There can be no question of a taste explosion, as described below. Solid, but not outstanding. Nice service.

Service very friendly, atmosphere nice. Unfortunately, the food wasn't convincing. I had a teriyaki ramen - unfortunately it was already lukewarm when it arrived and tasted bland and barely spicy. Unfortunately not enjoyable.

The bowl was the best thing I've eaten so far in 2025. Extremely creative in taste and appearance. Every taste bud was thoroughly entertained. A nice team and a nice central location. The only negative thing was that it was a bit cool in the dining room. If I'm in Bochum again, I'll definitely come back!

An absolute insider tip! I'm honestly still shocked at how good everything tasted. Wow! I haven't eaten kimbap in a really long time. (The last time was in South Korea and then again with a good friend from Korea). And I have to say that this was probably the best vegan kimbap I have ever eaten. The other dishes were equally phenomenal. The fried vegetables and tofu are also first class and very, very hearty. Only the kimchi might be a bit too “flaky” for die-hard fans. Could use a little more spiciness and acidity. But perfect for all kimchi beginners. We'll definitely come back again!

Because of the very good reviews, I had high expectations, but they were not met. For drinks we had a shake, which was very tasty, and a ginger tea consisting of hot water and ginger strips and no other decorations or anything like that. As a starter we had two warm tapas, one was fried tofu cubes, which only tasted strongly of the frying fat, and small chunks with a reddish sauce. These were also very tasty. There is no decoration in these two dishes either, nothing to catch the eye. For the main course we had Teriyaki Ramen. The pieces of meat were very tasty. The ramen itself was very tasteless. The ingredients such as broccoli were also poorly seasoned and bland. This ramen was definitely not worth the asking price. It's a shame that our expectations weren't met here, but there are much better vegan Asian restaurants in the area.

Kimbap Spot has been my absolute favorite restaurant for years! The service is always super nice, the food is great and the decor is also very cozy and beautiful. You just feel good! Unfortunately, I recently moved away from Bochum, but I always come back here when I'm in Bochum! My current favorite is the crunchy green roll. Overall, a really big recommendation!

One of the best vegan spots I've ever been!

We ordered various maki and classic rolls to pick up. Food was ready on time and could be picked up quickly. Every now and then we get something to eat there and were more than satisfied. But this time we were disappointed. Is this red and green mayo no longer available? There were 6 packets of soy sauce in the bag instead. The mayo was a USP for us. The maki were a little soggy and the spinach in the classic rolls was impossible to chew. Whether we order again, probably not. In my opinion, price/performance has decreased and we are looking for alternatives.

Our noodle soup was very "mild", it actually didn't taste like anything and was completely unsalted. The kimbap was just okay and again very unseasoned and boring. I think we won't come here again :(

Very nice and helpful staff and everything worked great with the gluten-free kitchen! The dishes were specially marked on the normal menu. In addition, there was also a small note that care was taken to ensure that everything was prepared as gluten-free as possible, but that cross-contamination could not be 100% ruled out. I found that very thoughtful and made me feel good. The selection isn't huge, but everything was delicious! And there was also gluten-free soy sauce as an alternative, which I found very thoughtful. I can only recommend it!!! 😊

Super delicious food. Even if you're not a vegetarian, you have to say that everything was great. Meat is not missing here in any way. The service is also very nice and attentive. We'll be back.

Had dinner with a larger group early on Friday evening. Even though we ordered at around 6 a.m., there were already 3 dishes off the menu. That was a shame because we were really looking forward to the ramen. On the other hand, it's a testament to the restaurant that the ramen broth is freshly prepared and unfortunately it sometimes takes hours. The food was very filling, we were all impressed by the banchan, especially the sprout salad.

The restaurant has a cozy interior and pretty comfortable table and seating arrangements. Me and my friends ordered kimbap as we went on a very hot day. The food was decent enough, although we got a little clumsy with the rather large pieces of kimbap esp when they started to fall apart a little at the bottom part that touched the plate, probably from the water that came out of the kimchi. The restaurant seems to only offer non-alcoholic drinks (which is totally ok, although I’d have loved a beer personally :D). Would be even more satisfactory if there was a slightly bigger variety of drinks that isn’t as sweet.

The first visit to Kimbap was entirely positive. The location is simple but completely sufficient, lots of flowers. The service was very nice and funny. I had a bowl that day. It was purely vegan. Tastes really good. There could have been a little more "sauce" for the rice. The sweet potatoes were nice and crispy and salty. The mayo was bluish and very tasty together. What's cool is that they offer drinks from flats, such as: Fritz Cola or lemonade. Price-wise it was ok. Parking lot, well, downtown. Or directly on the ring. Allow more time for now.

I have already visited here twice and was very, very satisfied each time. The food is incredibly tasty, the staff is very friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Here you can sit for a long time and eat delicious food in a pleasant atmosphere. The location of the restaurant is very central and easy to reach from anywhere in Bochum. Also within walking distance of the train station for people from outside. The Rainbow Maki Mix has been my favorite so far and the teriyaki sauce that is served with it is also a 10/10! I can recommend anyone who likes Korean food to come here. I will definitely come again. Very big praise to the entire team! From the kitchen to the service, everything was top! Thank you!!!

The Kimbap Spot is my culinary heaven. Colorful, delicious, special - simply incredibly good every time. What's more, all the people working there are incredibly nice, the atmosphere is relaxed and the completely vegan concept is a great asset to Bochum!

Really cute restaurant. There are many vegan, vegetarian options. The food is very good and not particularly spicy for Korean cuisine, which I personally take as a small minus point because I really like spicy food. You could ask beforehand how spicy you would like the food to be. The kimchi (pickled Chinese cabbage) is very good, as are the homemade sauces that come with the kimbap (Korean sushi). The staff is very friendly.

The food was super tasty and the homemade drinks were great to enjoy and melt away with. We were served very friendly and felt very comfortable. The menu contains very friendly information, for example about taking food or allergies with you.

Unfortunately very disappointed, the food was kale and tasteless, far too expensive for lumpy rice, no salt, no pepper. The staff was really nice.

Incredibly great restaurant! Having so much choice as a vegan is very unusual. The sweet potato maki is recommended. I ordered my takeaway food and it was ready very quickly. The box also included kimchi, sprouts and red cabbage with the sushi. There are free menstrual products in the toilets. The employees were friendly and courteous, even an hour before closing time. In terms of taste, a new, unfamiliar but super delicious world opens up. I definitely want to try everything on the menu. Unfortunately I was late for the cake - I have an excuse to come back soon :)

Small restaurant with vegan offerings and an attractive ambience. Friendly and attentive service. We liked the food and it seemed good quality and freshly prepared. Creative variations of sushi or bowls with gluten-free options. Fortunately, the selection of drinks also offers a varied selection, for example in the form of a homemade cucumber-lime iced tea. The dessert tasted fantastic. Clear recommendation for the Snickers cheesecake - also gluten-free.

Mega friendly service. Our daughter just wanted ramen with broth when the boss came out of the kitchen and specifically asked if she had understood it correctly. Bowl and cheese kimbap were good. We only had to pay €5 for the “children’s meal”. Mega fair.

We regularly order food from kimbap spot and are absolutely thrilled every time. Finally we ordered dinner 4 2. The sushi is creative, super tasty and has lots of different ingredients that you can taste, which is something I usually don't experience with traditional vegetarian sushi. Even if you don't order a menu, a few little things are still included in addition to the sushi rolls (salad, pickled radish, sweet potato fries, etc.). These little side dishes are always excellent too! Everything is fresh, delicious and very seasoned. I am in food heaven every time I eat my way through the different flavors. Accordingly, the price-performance ratio is also completely appropriate. Overall, there are few stores that inspire me so much. By the way, my husband, who is not a vegetarian/vegan, shares this enthusiasm as well.

We had the Broccoli Twigim Roll and the Happy Cheeze Roll and for dessert the Snickers and Matcha cake and a cappucino. It was soooo delicious! The employees were super friendly and very attentive. We'll definitely be back!

Nice service. Unfortunately, the ramen broth is more of a thin vegetable water. Japanese people would probably fall out of their chairs in horror if politeness didn't dictate otherwise. The kimchi is also surprisingly unflavorful, even by European standards. Maybe it's quite acceptable for guests who have never been to Asia...

Schaaaade! Seit 2018 kenne ich nun den Kimbap Spot und früher war es mein absolutes Lieblingsrestaurant. Leider hat in den letzten Jahren die Qualität und der Geschmack gelitten. Wir vermissen die tolle selbstgemachte Knoblauch-Mayo (heute ist sie, wenn sie dabei ist, sehr geschmacklos) und die bunten Farben. Leider waren bei den letzten drei Besuchen meine Gerichte bei vielen der einzelnen Beilagen (Bowls) versalzen. Kein Thema, ich meine sowas passiert und beim ersten Mal habe ich das der Kellnerin auch gesagt und prompt eine neue und unversalzene Bowl bekommen. Beim vorletzten und letzten Mal wollte ich aber nicht schon wieder auf eine neue Bowl warten. Jedes Mal warten ist au h blöd.. außerdem sollte nicht das Essen meiner Begleitung kalt werden. Früher gab's auch jedes Jahr im Herbst meine heißgeliebte Kürbisbowl. Die wurde in den letzten zwei Jahren schmerzlich vermisst. In Zeiten von eurem Umzug in eine neue Location, Corona und der Inflation sind Preisanhebungen verständlich, aber mir mittlerweile leider zu hoch. Vor allem durch die gesunkene Qualität/Geschmack. Ich werde mich daher umschauen müssen. Wirklich, wirklich schade.. Hätte nie gedacht, dass der Tag mal kommt :( Vielleicht ist dieses Feedback irgendwo nützlich für euch! Würde mich freuen, wenn das der Fall ist. Liebe Grüße 🥢

Am Freitag Abend haben wir kurzfristig im vollen Restaurant einen Platz bekommen und die Happy Cheeze Maki als Vorspeise sowie das Dinner for 2 bestellt, bei dem man verschiedene Rolls, frittiert und normal sowie Beilagen und zwei Bowls dazubekommt. Alles war sehr frisch und lecker und sah sehr gut aus! Auf Nachfrage gab's auch nochmal Sojasoße und Teriyakisoße. Alles in allem eine sehr gute Lokalität in der Nähe des Hauptbahnhofs.

Update: Das Essen sieht nicht mehr so außergewöhnlich bunt aus und die selbstgemachte Mayonnaise ist auch nicht mehr dabei. Wir hatten heute auch etwas Pech mit einer Bedienung, die nicht so aufmerksam war. Reaktion auf Antwort: Danke für die ausführliche Antwort. Auf Nachfrage habe ich eine Mayo bekommen, die dann am Ende berechnet wurde, damit hatte ich nicht gerechnet. Ich verstehe auch das Geschmäcker unterschiedlich sind. Ich hatte die bunten Farben gerade als Alleinstellungsmerkmal ihres Lokals gesehen. Die Maki mit Sojasauce sind ja jetzt dann doch eher Standart. Was nicht heißen soll, dass sie nicht schmecken. Die Bedienung war freundlich und hat uns mit Sicherheit nicht absichtlich ignoriert. Normalerweise rufe ich natürlich auch nicht. Zuvor war sie mind. drei Mal in unsere Richtung gelaufen, hat aber nicht geschaut und konnte somit nicht auf Augenkontakt oder Handzeichen regieren. Da wir in der Mittagspause nicht so viel Zeit hatten, wusste ich mir nicht anders zu helfen. Wenn Sie da eine besseren Vorschlag haben, gerne.

Hatten mit Freunden verschiedene Platten bestellt. Wenn man vegan lebt oder eine Glutenunverträglichkeit oder Zöliakie hat, sicher ein empfehlenswertes Restaurant. Hinten sitzt man auch ganz schön. Vorne fand ich es etwas ungemütlich um den Tresen herum. Geschmacklich fand ich das Essen etwas fad. Insbesondere die Mayo schmeckte fast nach nichts und die Teriyaki-Sauce war etwas sparsam von der Portion her. Empfehlenswert fand ich die Crunchy-Rolls, alles andere schmeckt in anderen asiatischen Restaurants mindestens genauso gut. Bis wir das Essen hatten dauerte es schon seine 45 Minuten, obwohl es noch recht leer war, als wir bestellt hatten. Service in Ordnung, aber sich jetzt auch nicht vor Bemühung überschlagend. Preislich landeten wir mit einer sattmachenden Portion schon so um die 25-30€ mit einem Getränk und Trinkgeld. Alles in allem ein durchschnittliches Restaurant würde ich sagen.

Ich war letztens Sonntag wieder mal dort und insgesamt schon viele Male. Es ist mein Lieblings Food Spot in Bochum. Das Essen ist einfach so lecker! Könnte ich jeden Tag essen. 🥰🥰 Große Empfehlung. Ambiente ist ultimativ cozy und die KellnerInnen waren immer freundlich & hilfsbereit

Alles sehr gut! Das Essen ist super, die Servicekräfte können einem alles bis ins kleinste Detail erläutern und das Ambiente ist auch hübsch.

Es war mega lecker, ich war absolut satt und glücklich;) Die angebotenen Kreationen sind richtig lecker und spannend, dabei ist alles vegan und konnte auch die „Nicht-Veganer“ Freundin überzeugen. Das Ambiente könnte etwas schöner daherkommen, irgendwie möchte man optisch eher im hippen Berlin stattfinden aber wir sind hier in Bochum ;) Das Serviceteam ist sehr angenehm, freundlich flott und aufmerksam, hier fühlt man sich absolut wohl. Ich freu mich schon auf den nächsten Besuch! Btw. Hunde sind willkommene Besucher.

War mit Freunden an einem Samstag Abend spontan vorbei gekommen. Hatten aber glücklicherweise noch einen Tisch bekommen. Ich habe mir dann die Homemade Gurken Limonade ohne Sprudel und die Bulgogi Bowl bestellt. Es war alles sehr sehr lecker. Das Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen, vor allem wenn man vegetarisch/vegan koreanisch essen möchte ohne am Geschmack zu verzichten. Die Bedienung an dem Abend war auch zuvorkommend und nett. Sie hat unsere Bestellung schnell aufgenommen und auch die Gerichte wurden nach dem Bestellen schnell an unserem Tisch gebracht. Da einer meiner Freunde nicht so scharf essen kann hatte sich erkundigt wie scharf die Bowl Classic ist. Daraufhin hat die Bedienung vorgeschlagen und veranlasst, dass die scharfe Soße separat serviert wird, was gut war, da ihm am Ende die Soße doch zu scharf war. War jetzt mein 2. Besuch, aber wie auch davor würde ich wieder kommen!

Wir waren zum ersten Mal hier und überhaupt koreanisch essen. Wenn man garkeine Ahnung hat ist die Karte etwas überfordernd. Wir haben dann die Platte für 2 gegessen um ein bisschen Auswahl zu haben. War sehr lecker! Service war auch sehr freundlich und angenehm. Manchmal schade, dass man satt wird 😉

Sehr leckeres Gimbap, Kimchi und tolle Beilagen. Per Webseite bestellt und abgeholt, hat alles reibungslos geklappt. Bei der Bowl war mir das Teriyaki-Soja etwas zu weich, aber die Sauce war lecker.

Sehr leckere vegane koreanische Küche gegenüber dem Landgericht Bochum am Stadtring. Feines und umfangreiches Angebot an Sushi und koreanischen Gerichten, es gibt zur Zeit auch ein Mittagsangebot und man kann das Essen auch mitnehmen oder es sich liefern lassen. Sehr netter Service, die Einrichtung ist eher etwas retro gehalten, passt aber ausgezeichnet zur 50iger Jahre Architektur in Bochum . Sehr empfehlenswert.

An sich gefällt mir das Konzept, aber einige Speisen waren zu wenig bis schlicht gar nicht gewürzt. Generell leider nicht so überzeugend.

Unwissentlich in dieses veganes Restaurant gegangen. Handwerklich war das Essen ok, das Konzept trifft, wenn es auch nicht mein Fall ist, natürlich den Zeitgeist. Dennoch muss ich sagen, dass die Speisen allesamt nicht gut gewürzt waren und da definitiv viel Luft nach oben ist. Ich habe grundsätzlich nichts gegen vegane Speisen, aber das war echt nicht so überzeugend. Die Preise finde ich in Ordnung und auch der Service war nett.

Service fabelhaft, Essen sehr gut, wobei die Ramen etwas fad gewürzt waren. Wir haben zu zweit mit Vorspeise und Getränk 60€ bezahlt. LG an Alle

Unfortunately I agree with the other low ratings. I ordered the Chinese kimchi and the tofu soup and they were tasteless, couldn't be farther from a Korean experience. The staff is lovely though.

Leckeres Essen und nette Bedienung

Schönes kleines Restaurant mit veganem koreanischen Essen mit super fairen Preisen. Ich habe die glutenfreie THE SWEET POTATO ROLL gegessen, die richtig lecker war. Alle Speisen die glutenfrei (möglich) sind, sind auf der Karte gekennzeichnet. Es gab sogar eine glutenfreie Würzsauce als Ersatz für Sojasauce. Nächstes mal werde ich das vegane Bibimbab essen 🤗 Obwohl ich eine symptomatische Zöliakie habe, hatte ich keine Beschwerden.

Essen ist sehr lecker und die Portionen sind groß, ich habe meine Bowl an 2 Tagen essen können. Zutaten und auch die Soßen schmecken frisch! Leider gab es keinen Brokkoli mehr und man hat mir als Ersatz veganen „Blue Cheese“ dazu gegeben. Nett gemeint, aber ich mag den Geschmack und Geruch vom Käse überhaupt nicht und hätte mir gewünscht dazu einmal gefragt zu werden. Ansonsten alles super 😊🙌

Als nicht Veganer war ich skeptisch, mit einen veganen Freund herzukommen, und wurde so Wahnsinnig positiv überrascht. Wir hatten die gemischte Platte für 2, die übrigens mehr als reichlich war, und es war unfassbar lecker. Super frisch, total kreativ, und hübsch angerichtet. Wir schwärmen immernoch davon. Bestes Sushi was ich je hatte. Darüber hinaus eine super freundliche Bedienung, die auf deutsch und englisch geduldig jede Frage beantwortet hat, obwohl so viel zu tun war. Ich war nicht das letzte Mal da. Danke für einen tollen Abend.

Schönes, aber schlichtes Ambiente. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ich habe mich für die Ramensuppe entschieden. Dadurch, dass es auf Basis einer veganen Brühe serviert wird, ist dies natürlich nicht mit der originalen Ramensuppe auf Basis einer Fleischbrühe zu vergleichen. Für mich war die Kombination trotzdem lecker, obwohl die Brühe auch sehr gerne würziger sein könnte. Die Soya Chunks waren dahingehend sehr gut in der Konsistenz und haben super als Einlage gepasst.

Ein Besuch im Kimbap Spot ist wie ein warmherziges Willkommen in einem gemütlichen Esszimmer – nur dass dieses Esszimmer mit den wohl schmackhaftesten veganen Kimbap-Variationen gefüllt ist. Die kulinarischen Kreationen hier sind schlichtweg ausgezeichnet und überzeugen bei jedem Besuch aufs Neue. Eine absolute Empfehlung für alle Liebhaber von authentischer und pflanzenbasierter koreanischer Küche.

Seit 2019 gehe ich hier nun schon essen und muss sagen, es ist mein absoluter Lieblingsladen! Es ist jedes mal wie nach Hause kommen. Das Personal ist IMMER mega freundlich, auch wenn es mal stressig ist (so wie gestern). Das Essen ist eine 10 von 10 und auch das Mittagsangebot ist der Hammer (schon paar mal ausgenutzt 😁)! Ich hoffe SEHR, dass Kimbap Spot auf ewig Bochum erhalten bleibt! 💚

Skeptical omnivore parents greatly approved of the selection and taste of this place the vegan kids wanted to go to. That's rare right there. Food was fast, and novel with good portions. You feel like a little pothos, a houseplant surviving green as it will in this cute carved out spot in the ancient big city bustle. It got busy (yay, a win for the good guys) so I'd recommend reserving a table if you eat late.

Ein ganz besonderer Ort zum Speisen von hochqualitativem, (veganem) koreanischen Essen ☺️ Seit Jahren stetig lecker und die Bedienungen sind auch immer freundlich.

Absolut genial! Wir hatten gestern unser Hochzeitsessen im Kimbap Spot. Nach einem sehr netten und komplizierten Kontak im Vorfeld, lief alles reibungslos und wir haben unglaublich leckeres Essen bekommen. Damit für alle etwas dabei ist, haben wir uns für ein Buffet entschieden und alle unsere Gäste waren begeistert! Für uns als Veganer ein Traum, bei einem Buffet zuzulangen ohne zu schauen, ob tierische Produkte enthalten sind. Danke an die tolle Chefin und das nette Team für diesen tollen Tag und diese Möglichkeit zu einem wirklich fairen Preis. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder 😍
