Wir sind enttäuscht. Yes, the cats are very cute, but this is a cafe and we come here to eat and drink something. We ordered coffee with ice cream (Eiskaffee sollte sein) and what we got was a terrible coffee mix with cream. We couldn't even drink it. And we paid around 7-8 €. I mean, if you sell something at this price, I think something is wrong. The cats were cute, yes, but I don't know, am I wrong? You can add photos to the menu so no one will be disappointed. Or just change it :(

The concept is absolutely nice. The place is big. Though I'm not vegan, I really liked the food (got a rainbow bowl, recommended). Especially the mayonnaise and the fruity dragon drink. My only observation is that the service could be slightly faster: it was not full, but it still took some time for the drinks and then the food to arrive. But I know this is something that can be improved... or maybe it takes some more time for the food to be ready. I did not really mind, as I had enough time. I would come back, definitely :). I liked it that the atmosphere wasn't too loud.

Very nicely decorated, a cozy courtyard, the bowl was very tasty. Two cats kept us company.

For the first time a good café, nicely decorated and very good food! Above all, the plant-based concept is well developed and can be found in a variety of ways on the menu. Also super friendly staff. The problem is more the prevailing animal cruelty. Before my visit I was worried about the animal friendliness, but after my visit it became clear to me that the cats and how people treat them are not taken care of at all (hence the service 2 stars). Parents use the café as a petting zoo and children run after cats with toys, chase them, wake them up and, last but not least, even enter the animals' rest room. Nothing is done to suggest that this day is not an isolated incident. Now considering that this is a chain, it is extremely unfortunate how the animals are used as a source of entertainment and attraction for people just to make a profit for the company. Really, really a shame and absolutely out of date!

Cats are cute, but that's no use if the coffee tastes really bad. Frothed oat milk can taste very good, but you have to be able to do this too. Unfortunately not recommended. Very expensive.

I go to this cafe very often and I quite enjoy it, mainly because of the cats. However, I have to agree with the comments here that everything is overpriced and unfortunately, the drinks they serve recently lack the quality it once had. The hot chocolate they served was literally cold, as if it had been waiting out for hours before they decided to serve it to the customer. Waiting time is long even when it's not that crowded.

The food was very tasty. A great alternative to non-vegan burger restaurants. The service was good and friendly but could have been more attentive. Very nice atmosphere especially if you like cats. We loved it! There is a merch shop in the restaurant and also the possibility of taking on a cat partnership.

Good restaurant / cafe in the middle of Erlangen. The eponymous cats run around freely and have their climbing/lying areas everywhere. The cakes and coffee are delicious.

Great ambience, sweet four-legged friends and delicious food. It's always nice to come back to the Cat Temple. Surrounded by kitties and a quiet atmosphere, you can really switch off and leave the stress of everyday life behind you. I always enjoy visiting. The waitresses are always friendly and the price/performance ratio is also right! See you soon 🐾

Unfortunately I have to adapt my old review from 10 months ago: Unfortunately, the service has deteriorated significantly. We ordered breakfast for 4 people. The bread was very dry, ingredients were mixed up or only served after repeated requests and breakfast was completely forgotten. The service was also surprisingly slow considering that only a few guests were visiting the café at the time. It's a shame and not appropriate for the prices quoted. This is what it looked like 10 months ago: We've been there several times and are very satisfied :) The prices don't seem cheap at first glance, but it's worth it. The portions are large, side dishes are plentiful and everything is vegan. The cats also have plenty of space and toys at their disposal. Above all, the cats can retreat, there are enough places to retreat. Some are in the guest room so you can still watch the cats. But there is also a flap so that the cats can be completely away from the guests. This is rarely used :) There is also a great outdoor area with a swing lounger! It is ideal for (small) children, there is a small play area, high chair and of course cats ;) The ladies and gentlemen in the restaurant are very attentive and friendly.

The Cat Temple is a successful change from a normal café and a must for every cat lover! The cats behave calmly and are very cuddly. The tiramisu was delicious. Plus the prices were reasonable. The service was also great! We'd love to come back!

Very nice there. Nice atmosphere and nice staff. Only there is obviously no extractor hood in the kitchen. We were only in there for half an hour and then had to change clothes.

Since cats are nocturnal animals, they lack a quiet place to sleep in such a coffee. This is not for animal welfare. In addition, no dog, not even a small one, is allowed in the coffee. Something like that doesn't work at all. Generally not a good idea for the animals. The service is good, everything smells a bit like kitchen and there's very little space No parking. Coffee is in the pedestrian zone

So the food is good and tasty even for non-vegans. However, I would like a little more choice in the breakfast area, for example only croissants/rolls with jam or something like that. The prices are relatively expensive. Unfortunately it smells extremely like grease in the back area! We were there for about an hour and we put all our clothes in the laundry because it smelled really disgusting. This urgently needs to be improved, there is probably something wrong with the extractor hood. Otherwise, it's great that there is a children's area with painting supplies and small toys. The service was nice and friendly, but unfortunately only responsible for all guests (as far as I noticed). Taking the order and delivering it went quickly. We wanted to pay quickly, but unfortunately the table wasn't cleared for a long time. The cats are of course the highlight and really cute.

Friendly staff sweet cats eat good and fresh

The food was very tasty, the service was super nice and the cats were nice to watch, so everything was great. If it weren't for that musty smell that we noticed when we came in... at some point we realized it was coming from the kitchen. After the visit, all of my clothes and hair smelled of frying oil, which is very unpleasant! (Certainly also for the cats) Either the ventilation in the kitchen has failed or it is not ventilated properly. It's probably not like that in the morning until midday, but I can't tell. Unfortunately, we wouldn't come back because of this, although we would like to, but before that this problem would have to be solved.

Were here twice. I found it very nice and comfortable. I had the temple sandwich with salad. Very tasty, you don't miss the meat. Vegetarian dishes are very tasty. The chai latte is also great. Very friendly and polite staff. The cats were sleeping, but that's how it is sometimes. Prices are completely okay because everything is fresh and delicious.

Really great restaurant. The cats were very cuddly and the food tasted great. Also for me, although I don't eat vegan that often. When you found a quiet moment, you could pet the little rascals. :) Gladly again!

Facilities are well designed and the cats feel comfortable. Food is okay, although I'm less into vegan. Service is very nice, but everything is very slow. There should be at least 1 more then there would be 5 stars.

Very good food. I saw the review about the tiramisu, and yes it is actually more of a cake than a tiramisu, but it is vegan and it still tastes very good. I can also highly recommend the temple sandwich. Everything is a bit more expensive, but that's how it is in cafes :) The cats are all quite uninterested in the guests, but one cat still joined us and slept on the chair next to us and let himself be petted a little. You just need a little luck 🍀

The service is incredibly slow. 15 minutes to order, another 30 minutes for 4 hot drinks. The kitchen's poor ventilation makes you smell like fryer grease, even when you're sitting far away from the kitchen. The cats are sweet and very tame. The ambience, except for the smell, is also nice.

Anyone who loves cats and vegetarian/vegan food will definitely feel at home here

Unfortunately, our visit to the cat temple in Erlangen today was a failure. It started with us having to wait quite a long time at the front door and the waitresses walking past us several times before we got a table (someone behind us didn't want to wait that long and left again). After half an eternity and only after we had called attention to ourselves, our order was taken: a portion of salt-free fries for our toddler (and the rest for us) and two homemade sodas. The ordering system on the tablet only seemed to work partially; the service had to pass on requests (without salt) verbally to the kitchen. The sodas came fairly quickly and were good, but the portion of fries took forever. Unfortunately, when it came, there was salt on it and there was no ketchup or mayo, and I haven't seen such greasy fries in a while. We kept the fries anyway because we didn't want to wait that long again. So we just ordered ketchup and mayo, which was brought to us after a long time. But unfortunately the waitress didn't know which table to go to, so we had to point out to her that it should come to us. We had to get cutlery and napkins ourselves because the waitress unfortunately didn't think that we might need them. In total we were there for 1.5 hours for a portion of fries. We also noticed that guests were being turned away even though tables were free. Conclusion: The service was totally overwhelmed and haphazard, the fries were bad and the communication between service and the kitchen didn't work. The waiting times were far too long.

Unfortunately very disappointed :( Cappuccino; Cup only half full (no exaggeration), bitter and inedible. After an hour, the clothes and hair smelled very strongly of frying fat, so everything had to be washed. Overall the air was stuffy and you got a slight headache. Seating uncomfortable. Price-performance ratio suboptimal. Summary: Yes, the few cats are cute, but I don't think it's worth it.

I was there a few days ago and tried the breakfast. It was very delicious. The atmosphere and the service are also friendly. The only negative point is, as someone else said before me in the recession, that no one (the children's parents) pays attention when the children go to the sleeping cats and annoy and wake them up, even though it is a rule of conduct in the cards for everyone Table is up!

Nice concept with cats, nice place to visit with kids as there is also a play corner. We’ve been there 5 times already, but food disappointed us every time. Look at this photo - it’s supposed to be tiramisu, but it’s just a cake with a lot of bad cream. Also smell of burned oil in the room the whole time

positive: everything is vegan, the food tastes good and is nicely prepared, relaxed cats who also let themselves be petted, service is averagely good negative: unpleasant smell of frying fat in the entire dining room, atmosphere more like a canteen, price-performance ratio is not right for me (e.g. almost six euros for a glass of "lemonade", which consists of 2/3 ice cubes or 14.50 for three mini slices of bread dumplings with salad)

Was so excited to see that a cat cafe has opened in Erlangen! The concept is fab - cats and vegan food. Before you go, there should be a bit of expectation management that the cats aren’t going to come sit on your knee and you might not even get to stroke them. But they are very very beautiful and you will spot them all around the cafe. I had the apple cake and enjoyed it a lot. The coffee also tasted good. My only minus was that it can get quite busy and the atmosphere was a bit stressful then. However in that case you can always sit more towards the back of the cafe where less people are. The staff were nice.

Das Personal ist super freundlich,das Essen war ungewöhnlich da für Vegetarier geeignet. Das schönste ist aber die 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛ Die sind ja echt süß.

Katzen, die ansonsten im Tierheim wären, bekommen hier ein schönes Zuhause mit vielen Spiel- und Rückzugsmöglichkeiten. Man hat nie das Gefühl, in einem Streichelzoo gelandet zu sein. Das Personal ist freundlich. Man bekommt eigentlich immer einen Sitzplatz. Es kann passieren, dass mal eine Katze auf den Tisch hüpft, auch wenn das Personal darauf sofort reagiert und sie wieder herunter setzt. Wer das also gar nicht mag, sollte hier vielleicht nicht hin, oder nur einen Kaffee trinken^^ Man kann für die Katzen Patenschaften eingehen, mit denen man Futter- und Tierarztkosten mitfinanziert. Das Personal informiert einen gerne bei Interesse. Riesen Pluspunkt von mir gibt es, weil der Katzentempel (alle Läden dieser Kette) ausschließlich vegane Gerichte und Getränke anbietet. Kleiner Tipp: Nach einem der Plätze im hinteren Bereich fragen, dort sind meist mehr Katzen unterwegs.

Sehr schönes Café. Nach einem anstrengenden Tag kam ich zum Kaffee vorbei. Ein Platz wurde sofort gefunden. Der Kellner ist sehr höflich. Es gibt WLAN. Es waren viele Leute da und die Katzen waren abends nicht zu sehen, aber ich habe trotzdem eine gefunden, er ruhte auf einem Stuhl unter dem Tisch. Meiner Meinung nach sieht man Katzen am Morgen leichter, da sie der Aufmerksamkeit noch nicht überdrüssig sind. Ich werde wieder kommen.

Das Essen war wie immer sehr lecker, auch große Portionen. Und die Katzen sind super süß und haben einen glücklichen Eindruck gemacht. :)

Das Essen war sehr lecker und so braucht man auf keinen Fall Fleisch. Der Service war auch top und sehr freundlich. Mal was ganz anderes in einem katzenspielzimmer zu dinieren, hat uns gut gefallen. Das einzige warum ich auch keine 5 Sterne gegeben habe waren die äußert dreckigen und sogar staubigen Toiletten. Das geht garnicht in meinen Augen. Hygiene in der gastro ist das a und o !!!

Sehr toller laden, der Service sehr nett und schaut auch, dass das Wohlbefinden der Gäste vorhanden ist. Leckeres Essen, für jeden was dabei!

Sehr leckeres Essen und toller Service! Werde auf jeden fall wiederkommen! Wünschenswert wäre es noch, wenn Gäste mehr auf die Verhaltensweisen mit Katzen aufgeklärt werden. Teilsweise laufen die Katzen von den Menschen weg, weil sie ihre Ruhe wollen und ihnen wird nachgelaufen. Das Personal sollte hier nicht einfach nur zuschauen sondern liebevoll aufklären etc

Echt een super leuk en volledig vegan eetcafe! Er is keuze uit veel verschillende vegan hoofdgerechten van veschillende broodjes met vegan vlees tot bananenbrood met slagroom. Om het af te sluiten geweldig lekkere en originele taartjes, zo had ik een stukje snickertaart. Ohja de katjes zijn super lief!

Die Auswahl an veganen Speisen ist super und sehr lecker! Die entspannten Katzen haben viele Möglichkeiten sich zurück zu ziehen und die Atmosphäre ist insgesamt sehr entspannt.. Nur die Sauberkeit (vorallem die Toilette) ist noch verbesserungswürdig 🙈 und die Bedienungen sind zwar super nett aber teilweise etwas überfordert. Insgesamt aber absolut zu empfehlen!

Nicht nur ein Tempel für Katzen , sondern auch für Gourmets 👍👍👍wie gut veganes Essen sein kann, schmeckt man hier auf jeden Fall. Soooo lecker. Und ein absoluter wohlfühlort für Tierfreunde.

Haben das Essen abgeholt, 2 von uns sind leider gegen Katzen allergisch. Die Bowls waren echt super lecker <3 Die Menge an Soße war wunderbar, das kriegen nicht alle Läden so gut hin. Ich kann die Rainbow-Bowl echt empfehlen. Die Fleischalternative war auch super lecker gewürzt und hatte eine tolle Konsistenz. War nicht ganz billig. Aber dafür ist der Laden rein vegan und die Portion war auch echt groß!

Süßes Lokal im dem gewissen flauschigen Etwas ;-) Der Tempel überzeugt nicht nur durch seine Tiger sonder auch das Essen ist sehr gut. Das Personal ist immer freundlich und bemüht. Einzig die Toilette ( Unisex inkl. Pissoir) könnten entweder eine Renovierung gebrauchen oder ein wenig mehr hygienische Zuwendung.

Lieben wir! Für alle die Katzen und leckeres veganes Essen lieben. Frühstück gibt es den ganzen Tag und auch ein Lunch Spezial, für alle die in Erlangen studieren oder arbeiten.

All vegan restaurant with a variety of delicious dishes. I was totally impressed with all the different dishes to choose from. I got the breakfast which was so so good and so filling, and my husband got a bowl that he loved. The atmosphere was wonderful with the cats hanging out or sleeping above us. The cats were right at home. What an awesome concept. The owner rescued these cats and not only created a safe haven for them, but for vegans too. I thoroughly enjoyed eating here. The service was fantastic and we got our meals quickly, even though they were busy. The prices were very reasonable too. I can't recommend this place highly enough and I can't wait to eat there again.

Von dem ambiente ganz abgesehen war das essen mit abstand das beste vegane was ich gegessen habe eine absolute empfehlung essen, service und preis leistung ist hier einfach klasse

Das Essen ist meistens gut, jedoch recht teuer. Der Service ist freundlich, braucht jedoch manchmal recht lange.

Wir haben den Katzentempel zufällig entdeckt und da ich auch eine Katze habe sind wir reingegangen... HAMMER...Da scheichen sechs Fellnasen herum und das Ambiente lädt zur Begegnung und Entschleunigung ein...Wir waren dermaßen begeistert, daß wir den Katzentempel gleich zweimal besucht haben... Für Katzenliebhaber und gestreßte Menschen mit Feingefühl ein MUSS... Wir waren Zuhause. Danke...

Ein sehr schönes Lokal. Auch die Katzen sind so süß und der Besitzer des Lokals ist sehr nett. Wenn ich mal wieder in Erlangen bin, komme ich auf alle Fälle wieder vorbei.
