Simply great! Vegan, super delicious food and cute cats :3 The burgers are ultra good and the staff are super friendly. If possible, go during the week, but it can be a bit noisy on weekends when it's full. The price is a bit higher but not exorbitant and justifiable since the cats should have a good time and the food is sustainably vegan. :3

The Cat Temple in Bochum disappoints in almost every way. As soon as you enter, you notice that cleanliness is not the priority you would expect in a café. The floors are dirty and the tables appear unkempt, which really spoils the overall picture. The gastronomic offering also leaves a lot to be desired. The dishes are not only weak in taste, but also extremely unimaginative. It lacks fresh and creative options that one might expect from such a cafe. The drinks are particularly disappointing: While the ready-made drinks like beer and coffee are okay, the cocktails are a total failure - overpriced and without any taste. It seems as if there is no attention to detail here, which is reflected in the quality. The service at the Cat Temple is another major drawback. The staff is unfriendly, often seems arrogant and seems to have little interest in the guests. The service times are extremely long, even though the store is not even busy. You get the feeling that the employees are either poorly organized, don't enjoy their work or are simply overwhelmed. This feeling of unprofessionalism runs through the entire visit. What is most disappointing, however, is the condition of the cats. These are actually the heart of the café, but many of the animals appear unkempt and some even appear sick. This is absolutely unacceptable for a cat coffee that is supposed to be about the welfare of animals. Overall, the cat temple in Bochum is a big disappointment. Those who have never been to a cat cafe may find the experience interesting, but for everyone else this cafe is far below the standard one would expect. I cannot recommend a visit here.

We had a great stay at the Katzentempel Bochum. The carrot cake and the tiramiezu were very, very tasty! Thank you for the experience and the little break.

We had cake and hot drinks. Very nice café and the service was really friendly. My food was also first class! You can also tell that the cats are well looked after here and that the animals are respected. Two points of criticism: 1. The way some of the children treat the cats here made me shake my head... The staff should have taken tougher action. 2. Everything is really very expensive, but good, you also pay for the cats, but a visit is something special that you don't do every day.

As the owner of two cats, I visited this unique restaurant with my wife and daughter and was thrilled from the start. The concept is perfectly thought out: you enjoy delicious, diverse and completely vegan food while being surrounded by purring, playing and sleeping cats. The menu offers everything your heart desires - from sandwiches, burgers and bowls to salads and heavenly desserts such as cake and ice cream. The drinks menu also leaves nothing to be desired: from classic refreshments such as cola and coffee to matcha and fruity drinks, everything is there. The Cat Temple is clean, tidy and modernly furnished, which immediately creates a feeling of well-being. The cats are super clean, healthy and seem consistently happy and relaxed. It is clearly noticeable that the welfare of the animals comes first here. The staff is young, super friendly and always helpful. The air-conditioned rooms also contribute to the pleasant atmosphere, which is particularly welcome on hot days. We felt completely comfortable in the cat temple. The prices are absolutely fair and the food was simply excellent - it couldn't have been better. Visiting the Cat Temple was not only a culinary delight, but also a restful and relaxing experience. Completely overpriced. The vegan scrambled eggs only taste like tofu and are probably just a joke for the price. We will neither come back nor recommend it to others.

Sweet cats, but super unfriendly waitress. First we stood in the vestibule completely unnoticed for a long time, even though many seats were free, then we dared to open the door to draw attention to ourselves. The waitress shot at us and hissed at us to get out immediately. Then she came back shortly afterwards and we were allowed to look for a place... but the feeling was so unpleasant that we decided to leave.

I really like the Cat Temple, the atmosphere is pleasant and if all customers follow the internal rules it is always fun to be there. All the service staff are nice and are happy to take their time with you. The vegan food is always delicious and the many components mean that the menu, provided you try it out, never gets boring.

Four of us went there spontaneously because we discovered it by chance when we were in Bochum. Great ambience, friendly service. The food was great, not cheap but so delicious! Unfortunately we didn't have long, would have liked to watch more cats, would love to come back with more time. I think the idea is brilliant and well implemented. A cat temple in Würzburg would be perfect :)

We were there for the first time today. Cat temple. Highly Recommended. The food was great, the service was very accommodating! A must for cat lovers! The service was cheeky, restless and rude (the young blonde lady). But the food was delicious. If we hadn't been so hungry we would have left because of the service staff. And what kind of restaurant is this where you serve people vegan food but the cats get dead animals in their food bowls even though there has long been vegan pet food where no other animals are exploited? Cats can live a plant-based lifestyle just like humans! Get informed!!!! As long as your cats still eat animal carcasses, you are not a vegan restaurant, but a hypocrite!!!

We felt very comfortable with you and enjoyed some excellent food. Fissel, Eumel, Hulle and Scholli visited us and made the stay very special. Fissel even lay on my mother's back on the window sill for a while while Hulle tried to grab something from the plate. 🤭 Of course we prevented that. Thank you all! 😘

The people are very friendly and also take care of the cats. The cats looked very happy. There was also a small room where the cats could retreat. The food was similar to fast food but very tasty. You could also buy clothes and other things.

The food was really delicious. I was skeptical at first, but I was really very surprised. I don't think the atmosphere is that nice. I had imagined a cat temple to be more comfortable. It seemed boring and cold.

Certainly not bad as a cafe, the drinks were actually pretty good. However, my food was incredibly bland. Imagine the color gray as a color. The tomato on the burger had the most flavor. The fries were so far dry, as if they had been in an air fryer. The following night was dominated by stomach cramps and vomiting. The place is great for going for a coffee and watching the cats, but even in hospitals there is a thousand times better food. I mean the tomato ketchup was the best thing on my plate.

Very good vegan food, I had a temple sandwich. It was a very large portion. It is very clean there and the service is friendly and attentive. The cats seem to be doing just fine; they can even withdraw completely if they want to. The animals come from animal welfare.

Kunden wurden vorne an der Tür deshalb abgewiesen. 3 Servicekräfte waren vorhanden. Der Blick durch die Fenster in eine Seitenstraße. Die Karte gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber noch O. K. Bestellungsaufnahme nach ca. 10 Minuten, mein Tee und eine weitere Tasse Kaffee ließen dann noch einmal 15 Minuten auf sich warten. Die Schalenstühle waren unbequem. Umsetzen durften wir uns nicht, da "noch Gruppen angekündigt waren". (Der wirkliche Grund war wahrscheinlich, dass sie mit der Organisation nicht zurecht kamen). Alles in allem... Wären die Katzen nicht gewesen, unterirdisch schlecht!!!

Very tasty and exclusively vegan food. The fries are very good, unfortunately the prices are a bit high. But that's understandable when you consider that the cats have to be financed. Unfortunately, the swivel chairs are very uncomfortable and the cats only come to the tables at the edge. All in all, a nice visit.

A nice concept in itself. Unfortunately, it smelled very strongly of chip fat, which was unpleasant. Furthermore, the dishes we ordered didn't arrive together, which meant that one person was allowed to watch the other eat.

Nice place for cat lovers We were lucky and were there at feeding time. We were even given some food to lure and feed the cats. The food is really tasty and the service staff are all very nice. I think it's good that shelter cats have found a loving home there. Great concept that will hopefully be available in more cities soon.

Very nice cozy cafe. Lots of resting places and climbing opportunities for the velvet paws. You can see the sweet little paws and they come too. A curious little paw was with me and I was able to pet it. I love cats and we really enjoyed being there and will definitely be back. The service is also very friendly and nice. Matching the cute residents. We ate cake and drank a delicious drink. Everything was delicious and beautifully prepared.

Lovely cafe and an absolute paradise for cat lovers. We were lucky that we were even allowed to feed the cats. The food is comparatively expensive, €14 for a sandwich is not quite standard. But if you order something, it's really tasty. The smoothie bowl was also very, very small for €9.90. I can recommend the bread and the Meowjito here!

I was really looking forward to the visit, but unfortunately I have to say that several things led to a big disappointment. I have to say that I have never been to a cat café. I am 100% aware that no one can force cats to move anywhere. The animals have their own will and that's why I like them - but I still thought it was a shame not to really see any, since that was the main reason for coming here. In the front area, where it is of course less cold, there was a single cat lying further up and chilling. There's more mischief going on at the back - but unfortunately it was packed there and there was no way to sit down there. As I said, that wouldn't be a problem because of course the café can't do anything about it. What they can do is hot chocolate and iced chocolate. I like to eat and drink vegan, but they both tasted like absolutely nothing. 6.9€ for 0.3 iced chocolate is really expensive. And if it doesn't taste like anything, even more so. The menu didn't suit my taste either. There were some employees who were extremely friendly, but also some who I found somewhat rude. All in all, it was unfortunately really sad that the great anticipation was followed very, very quickly. Edit: very, very strange that my review was reported for no reason.

This restaurant is very cool. At first I thought something like this only existed in Japan. But look, I actually ate in a cat restaurant in Germany. The food was delicious, you won't be disappointed. The cats are great too and you don't feel bothered by them and neither by you. The service was very good and sweet.

It doesn't take much, just 4 paws for comfort. If you love cats, this is the right place for you. Wonderful ambience, super nice and attentive staff and if you're lucky, 6 cute cats who will look after the guest depending on their mood. Or rather the guests around the cats? :-) Certainly due to the idea, drinks and food are a little more expensive, but the quality is very good. Important, there is no alcohol and no meat here! Card payment is accepted and seeing each other again is not only fun, but also friends.

Amazing place. We've been there twice, the chili con fritten is fantastic, burgers are good, and fries are super crispy. My favourite place to visit, we drive from Dortmund just to experience it. Cats are super sweet and seem happy :)

At first I thought, where did your wife drag you back to? Cat seemed a bit too Asian to me. But when I finally brought myself to bite into the burger, the meat was very aromatic. I'm thrilled and have now set up traps in the garden, maybe we'll catch one too.

I've never had such bad fries, I suspect they were fried for the second time (totally hard and very dark) and even though I didn't eat them I had to pay for them😕 The burger fell apart so much that it was only possible to eat it with great difficulty and a lot of mess...all in all not great😕 The waitresses are super friendly, that's why the 2 stars

Very tasty food and a quick colleague in the service, who also likes to have a saying on his lips :D The furnishings are exemplary in the spirit of the cats, you can also tell that they feel super comfortable there and have peace and quiet. Dat Banh Miau Sandwich really blew me away as a meat eater and definitely broadened my "culinary horizons" :D

My absolute feel-good place! Ruth, Olli and their team ensure that the cat temple in Bochum is by far the best in my opinion and I have actually visited many in many countries because of my love for cats. The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy, the vegan food is incredibly tasty (I recommend the Rainbow Bowl and the don't call it snickers 😍) but you can't go wrong with anything else either! If I had any questions about my sponsorship, Ruth was always there quickly and competently with at least one open ear! I absolutely cannot understand negative comments. Yes, the food is vegan, why complain about it, if you go to a Greek restaurant you can't complain that they have Greek food. The cats are not there to amuse people and come to cuddle as long as you don't bother them. That should actually go without saying. To describe the staff as unfriendly just because they are committed to the well-being of the cats is simply unfair. It's understandable that it gets a little louder at the weekend or during the holidays. How about you just come during the week if you know that it bothers you a lot. 🙂 Thanks also to Kristin, who always provides very attentive and warm service! We were there today without a reservation, the homepage doesn't say that you HAVE to make a reservation. Unfortunately we weren't allowed in. The unfair thing is that a man who didn't make a reservation was let in in front of our eyes. The fact that my child was really sad didn't bother anyone. Totally unfair

I was here for the first time a few weeks ago and also ate vegan (consciously) for the first time in my life. I had a burger with vegan chicken and was very impressed. The cats seem happy and the guests are instructed on how to handle them. All in all, a great concept in this restaurant - I would love to come back.

Cool concept and the cats were very friendly or sleeping. Food was okay, at the highest Lieferando level. It's relatively narrow there. Depending on where the cats settle, someone may kneel next to you every few minutes to pet the cats. If you want to eat in peace, this place is suitable to some extent.

The food was delicious. You probably have to get used to the aftertaste of a vegan burger if you're not used to eating like that. The chili fries tasted “normal”. The atmosphere was very funny because all the guests were as happy as children when a cat moved. The “unhurried” staff was also friendly. It's a very nice experience. I was alone there, but I didn't feel alone. First I was greeted by a very nice lady, then I was allowed to look for a seat and have a look around. At the beginning almost all the cats were in their resting phase, but gradually the cats woke up and came to the guests. I thought it was nice that you had a chance to give the cats a treat. I ordered a rainbow bowl and an apple spritzer for dinner, it was just a poem. I would be happy to come back.

The idea with the cats is great and something different. But that was it. The food was rather mediocre and very expensive. I've eaten much better for the same money. The staff seems a bit overwhelmed and could be friendlier. Don't let the cats blind you. In my opinion, without cats, hardly anyone would visit the restaurant a second time. Vegan food is much better elsewhere.

Short visit to the cat temple in Bochum with my girls because they love cats and miss their own cat. Reservations should be made in advance to ensure a place. It was a beautiful moment that we enjoyed.

Unfriendly service. We were greeted at the door with a friendly "What do you want?" greeted us and asked about our reservation. We didn't have one and it wasn't clear to us why one would be needed on a Tuesday lunchtime. The waitress then went in to check whether we could sit down (the shop was empty). After being made to wait for 10 minutes, we finally left.

The food is fresh and tasty, the prices are of course not at McDonald's levels, but if you're expecting that here you might want to think again...all in all we really liked it. Next time we will ask in advance what time the cats are most active :)

The obvious thing is of course the cats, which are allowed to run around freely and are the highlight. In the evening, however, no cat wanted to be petted anymore. The food selection is simple: vegan burgers or sandwiches. Cheezeburgers and happy pulled were delicious and the portions were large. Prices at an upper level for the offer.

I'm still full after more than 4 hours. The quantity is decent and, above all, very, very tasty. Very friendly staff, the atmosphere is great. Very cozy and the cats, who obviously feel very comfortable, are the highlight! We'll definitely come by more often!
