The perfect place for cat lovers. Wonderful atmosphere. Five adorable felines with distinct personalities. Plus, plenty of treats. What more could you want?!

The Cat Temple is a small, charming restaurant that we stumbled upon in our Schlemmerblock (a discount booklet). The staff is very friendly and attentive. Even though we didn't have a reservation on Valentine's Day, they gave us a table as a family. And as the name suggests, the feline residents delight the guests with their presence. For our meal, we ordered two vegan burgers. The taste and texture of the patties were fine. However, we felt the BBQ sauce was so heavy and overpowering that it masked everything else. A little less would have been preferable. :) The best part for us was the fries—super crispy and delicious.

We visited the cat sanctuary for the first time today and were thoroughly delighted with our visit. We received a very warm welcome; everyone was friendly and took plenty of time to answer our questions. The cats were sleeping at first, but later they were all active and approached us affectionately. The food was also delicious.

The selection is good, but not huge. The best part is the names of the dishes. The fries are amazing, and the other dishes are beautifully presented and taste delicious. We had lunch with dessert and found everything to be tasty. We'll definitely come back on our next visit to Augsburg.

I went there with my boyfriend and we thought it was simply lovely and delicious! 💕 The cats are incredibly sweet and absolutely adorable. What was especially important to me: The cats didn't bother our food or drinks at all. (table) They do come over and want to be petted, but they're completely relaxed and don't jump on everything. Some just watched curiously, while others slept peacefully. The little children in the shop were naturally exciting for the younger cats, but overall the atmosphere was very calm. A great place to really unwind. We'll definitely be back!! 💕

We visited the Katzentempel (Cat Temple) in Augsburg and felt very comfortable. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The food was delicious, even though we don't usually eat vegan. We had the temple breakfast and a sandwich, both of which were truly delicious and lovingly prepared. The cats were very special to us. After the recent loss of our own 22-year-old cat, it was wonderful to be able to stroke a cat's fur again. We were here two years ago and would love to come back whenever we're in Augsburg again. I found the service absolutely terrible. We had to wait 30 minutes for drinks and another 30 minutes for the food. There were four of us, and we only received two forks. The food itself was okay.

This is a fantastic café; I find it incredibly relaxing, and the cats are a real game-changer. The only thing that bothers me is when some guests disturb the resting cats and don't respect boundaries, but the staff are very patient in pointing this out. I'm speechless that some people write here saying they wish the cats showed more affection. Affection isn't given freely and isn't part of the "price of admission." These are animals with their own rhythms and rest periods. Cats sleep a lot during the day, and everyone who comes here should be aware of that. It's not a petting zoo. So it's also good that some people learn for the first time here that animals have boundaries. Keep up the good work! The food is great, by the way, and the drinks are too. I even found gluten-free options here :)

Something a little different! The place is busy, and the little furry friends are definitely relaxed. Anyone who loves cats should definitely stop by. Visiting the Augsburg Cat Temple with my daughter was simply wonderful. The atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxed. The cats curiously approached us at our table and even found my daughter's hair tie fascinating – that was definitely a highlight for them. The food was delicious! My daughter even said it was the best vegan schnitzel she'd ever eaten. We felt completely at ease and will definitely come back. Reservations are probably recommended. And yoga is apparently possible.

I don't usually write negative reviews, as I know that things can get a bit rougher in the restaurant industry under stress. The atmosphere is great, and I have nothing negative to say about the cat care or the food. Good vegan food, keep it up! However, what did upset us was the way the staff were treated during our visit. The owner's tone seemed very disrespectful at one point. That's really unacceptable.

We were there yesterday, and apart from the unfriendly service and the frozen tiramisu, everything was fine. It took 10 minutes before the server let us in, and after we were seated, another 15 minutes passed before they took our order. At that point, we could only order drinks, and to order a small appetizer, we had to wait another 20 minutes, only to be told, with annoyance, that we couldn't order everything at once. The server was incredibly unfriendly and made sure the other customers knew it. There were only five other customers in the restaurant besides us. We wanted to pay and told her, and after some more time had passed, we went to the front and politely asked if we could pay. The only response was an eye roll and an annoyed "Yes, if you insist..." Basically, everything else was okay. The food was reasonably tasty, except for the dessert, where the tiramisu was still completely frozen. ``` It was nice to have a conversation in the café, but I think they should hire someone for the service who can work with people and doesn't take their bad mood out on the customers. We definitely won't be coming back.

My visit to this restaurant was unfortunately very disappointing and, in some respects, legally questionable. Upon entering, I was asked if I had a reservation. After I gave my name, the waitress searched for it in the system and laughed loudly in front of several other guests. She also shouted my name across the room. I found this behavior demeaning and disrespectful and felt discriminated against. Regardless of personal characteristics such as name or origin, restaurants in Germany are obligated to treat guests equally and without discrimination. Such behavior violates the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) and the fundamental requirements for professional and respectful customer service. The service was also inadequate: drinks and dessert arrived approximately 30 minutes apart. Especially disconcerting was a situation at the next table where a family was asked to leave after being asked if everything was alright and how they would like to pay. This approach seemed arbitrary and unprofessional. I strongly recommend that the company train its staff on legal principles regarding discrimination, data protection (naming names out loud) and service behavior.

I'm a regular at Katzentempel. It's always nice to leave everyday life behind. I know most of the locations across Germany and have always felt well taken care of. In Augsburg today, I had a negative experience with the service for the second time. A year ago, I was kicked out after a short time because I hadn't ordered enough (one piece of cake and one cappuccino) and they needed more seats. Today I thought, "New chance." But today, the server just kept complaining. She even threw me off my chair. This server is ruining Katzentempel's reputation. Other guests told me she's always like this. The vegan dishes are very good and presented with care.

And the staff was really nice, incredibly friendly and attentive without being intrusive. All in all: I can highly recommend Katzentempel, whether you're vegan or not. The place simply has a pleasant, tranquil atmosphere and great food.

We came here with great anticipation for cats and vegan food. Unfortunately, we were rather disappointed overall and wouldn't come back. It makes sense that guests have to wait in a vestibule to enter; after all, no one wants a cat to escape. However, the fact that the staff doesn't keep an eye on this vestibule and there's no way to make yourself known is rather inconvenient. We stood there for at least 10 minutes waiting to be admitted. Once inside the dining room, the chairs and benches are a bit uncomfortable, and the overall atmosphere is a bit chilly, but the cats are truly cute. They're the main reason for coming here. Of course, you have to be aware that the cats might be sleeping and don't want to be disturbed, but that was fine with us. We were able to interact with some of the animals, and they were well-socialized. The service, on the other hand, was abysmal. Inattentive, unfriendly, and simply overwhelmed (even though only about half the dining room was occupied). Drinks and food couldn't be ordered at the same time, which led to additional waiting times. Despite repeated explanations, our order was not understood and promptly delivered incorrectly. The menu sounded promising, even if it was very confusing. The meal itself, however, was quite disappointing. The portion sizes were okay, and the salad and fries were also fine, but the burgers tasted exclusively of sauce; the other ingredients could have been left out. The texture wasn't particularly great either; everything was just soft. No crisp lettuce on the burger or anything similar. The plant-based pulled pork bore little resemblance to the product it was intended to imitate; it was rather chewy and had no flavor of its own. The homemade lemonade was far too sour, consisting almost entirely of lemon juice, and was a real yellow color. Last but not least, we were very annoyed that in a restaurant that claims to place great importance on being environmentally friendly, they handed out straws (without asking) – especially for a hot drink, which makes even less sense than for a cold one. This makes you realize that the "green veneer" is more show than substance. The prices are rather ambitious – I paid over €25 for a burger with salad and fries, plus a soda, which is definitely on the high end and doesn't match the quality.

The waiter, Noah, in particular, did an outstanding job and looked after us with the utmost care. He created an atmosphere that even Michelin Guide restaurants pale in comparison. His charm, coupled with the uniquely homey feel of the cat temple, led to a huge increase in sales for the restaurant. With his deep blue eyes, he practically read our every wish from our lips, so we never hesitated to order seconds.

I was already totally impressed by the Katzentempel in Munich, and the one in Augsburg is also very nice. I love everything about this concept. The vegan pulled pork was once again extremely tasty.

Vegan food is super delicious, and that's from a meat eater. The ambiance is nice and pleasant. I was particularly impressed by the atmosphere. Despite the fact that there were a few children present (I was there with two or three of my children), it was noticeably quiet and very relaxing. I can't imagine a regular visit due to the distance from my hometown, but when I visit Augsburg, I'll be happy to come back!

I visited Katzentempel for the second time yesterday, and unlike the first time, all the cats were there and were active towards the end of the evening. The first time, in the afternoon, only one was active and one was sleeping. The fries are very tasty. We also really enjoyed the sandwiches, salads, and bowls. The price is a bit higher than other vegan restaurants, but I think you're paying for the cats here, which is totally fine. There's only one server in the entire restaurant, which can sometimes lead to longer wait times. A little patience never hurts. All in all, a very nice restaurant and definitely an enrichment to Augsburg's vegan restaurant scene.

I was surprised when it turned out they didn't serve meat, as I hadn't really checked the menu beforehand. The burger was very good overall, the fries were fantastic, as were the smoothies, which were available as summer specials at the time. I found the prices relatively reasonable. And, of course, the most important thing: Gatze. Petting Gatze. Well, half of the cats were unfortunately gone, and the ones present were doing their own thing in typical feline fashion, but as soon as the waitress gave us treats at the end, we immediately had a few cats with us; one ventured right into the middle of the table (after it had been cleared). Then we had 15 minutes of petting and photos. Nice Great experience! If you're in the area, you should stop by.

Unfortunately, I personally didn't like the food that much, and the coffee wasn't great either. But the staff was friendly.

The cats are cute, but the food started off weak and then declined sharply. The burgers are served with an unnaturally sweet sauce that would be more suited to gummy bears than a burger. Otherwise, there's little choice and almost no small snacks. The smallest was a slice of bread with spread and vegetables for a whopping €8.

As is always the case these days, restaurateurs think they can just keep the prices high, but that's a different story. I didn't like it, and not just because the entire café needs a renovation.

There were four of us here. Despite the unusual time (2:00 PM), it was still quite hectic. There were a lot of customers, and some of the cats were a bit shy as a result. Everything was delicious. The waitress took quite a while to come to our table to check. I liked that there was no time limit. You shouldn't come here expecting a chilled-out cat to lie down and snooze right next to you on the bench. Still, it was a nice visit.

Hello everyone, I was at the katzenthempel today and it's a really great restaurant for breakfast. I'm such a fan of the katzenthempel.

Very good hamburger with generous ingredients. Original tasting sauce. Maybe a little too sweet.

Waited over 45 minutes and never received menus, drinks—nothing. Nobody came to take our order, even though we were clearly waiting and visibly hungry. The staff weren’t the nicest either, which just added to the frustration. In the end, we left without even getting a menu, let alone ordering anything, because we were too tired and disappointed to keep waiting. The cats were cute, but they didn’t make up for the poor service. Overall, a very underwhelming experience — we’ll probably not be coming back.

The Steak & Fries Bowl is spicy, so spicy that it tastes perfect for me, as someone who likes spicy food. The Meowjito came with three ice cubes, and the rest of the time it's just a mocktail. Completely different from other restaurants that often add 10 ice cubes and then only pour three drops of drink into the glass. The atmosphere is super nice, and the cats contribute to a cozy atmosphere. Truly a wonderful place and one of the best cat temple locations!

Our absolute favorite restaurant. Even my husband, who isn't vegan, loves it here. The food is delicious, the service is friendly, and the cats are incredibly cute. However, if you want to eat there around lunchtime on the weekend, you should make a reservation early.
