The temple is incredibly small, unfortunately the service wasn't all that good...we had to wait about 15 minutes for service and another 15 for the order, even though there really wasn't much going on...the prices are also pretty high (€8 for a piece of ready-made cake). It's a shame we won't come again...

Really nice, cozy restaurant, with very tasty food and special dishes that suit the season. And everything is completely vegan, so you can order everything and don't need any special requests to "veganize" a dish or become a side dish eater. Can only recommend the “Chilli con Fritten”. 🫶🏻 Oh and you shouldn't forget Findus (the orange cat), a very sweet and friendly cat. Service is always top and really nice.

This place is highly recommended for cat lovers. In addition to the six sweet cats, who are offered many opportunities to climb and relax, the lovingly prepared and extremely delicious food is also impressive. The friendly waitress exuded a good mood and knew how to nicely point out to three small children who were about to wake up a sleeping cat that it probably needed to rest now. It is advisable to make a reservation as the store was completely full when we visited.

I was there for the first time today with a good friend, we both love cats, and felt very comfortable in the cat atmosphere. We both agreed that we would like to visit a restaurant again. Unfortunately the food came to the table cold, I didn't say anything out of politeness because I could see how busy the restaurant was, but the staff were very busy but I would ask them to make sure that the food arrives warm to the guest.

Simply furnished. Would have expected more comfort. The service alone on the weekend and very slow. The food tastes very good.

Price for customer unfriendliness On December 26th, 2024 around 2 p.m. I wanted to spontaneously visit this café for the second time with my four-year-old son and husband. My child really wanted to pet the cats. Already in the first few seconds it was clear that the waitress who was working at that time had no interest in other customers. Even though there were plenty of empty tables, she said we couldn't get a table without a reservation. My son cried. With the crying child, I had to tell her that it was very customer-unfriendly to close the door loudly and without comment in front of the child. During that time even more tables became available. I asked if we could sit down for at least 30 minutes for the child's sake. The lady then said that I wasn't a waitress in this café and couldn't assess the table occupancy. In addition, according to her statement, the café was supposedly closing in an hour. Eventually it became clear that it wasn't about the reservation at all. The waitress simply didn't feel like working and wanted to get off work as soon as possible. I sat outside on the windowsill of the café with the crying child. My husband saw through the window how this lady was happy and laughing about the child being separated. She was happy that she could exercise her power as if she were the winner in this situation. She just doesn't realize that she's only hurting the cafe owner. My child calmed down in my arms after 10 minutes and we went to pet cats with our friends for free and in a good mood. There are no irreplaceable service staff. The cafe owner will only win if it throws out this condition. I have good contacts in the Augsburg tourism industry and will not only advise families with children, but also all guests of the city, to visit Cafe Katzetempel.

Super cutely decorated café with endless climbing and playing opportunities for the 6 cats. Quiet atmosphere and very tasty food! The employees were also extremely friendly. Gladly again! 😻

It's been a few days again, but I would be missing something if I hadn't seen it. Well, I don't have an allergy to cat hair, but this was so nice. The next time I'm in Augsburg I'll come back to your place. It's best after 5 p.m.

We were here for the first time today and were very impressed by the opportunities the cats have to feel comfortable. The food was really tasty (we didn't find any difference to "real" meat) and the service was courteous and quick. The prices are a bit high, but okay for every now and then. We've been there several times now, especially because of the super cute cats! Unfortunately, this visit was anything but pleasant, as the staff in particular were very unfriendly and dismissive. The waitress at various tables had to be politely asked several times to bring the bill because she preferred to spend time with the cats on the floor and played and talked intensively with them. While positive treatment of the animals is of course desirable and important, it is unpleasant when you as a guest and customer are ignored and sometimes treated dismissively. It should also be mentioned that while playing with the cats, the waitress simply threw a small toy ball across the room, which fell just past my head and onto the floor in front of us. This scared me extremely! Playing with the cats is of course okay in moderation, but doing so in such a situation is absolutely not appropriate towards (eating) customers. What was also absolutely impossible was the loud complaining about customers between the two waitresses on the floor, which (whether appropriate or not) definitely didn't contribute to a pleasant atmosphere, as you always had to expect that the two would gossip about us after we left could. Finally, it must also be noted that although higher prices for time with the cats are fair, the prices here are clearly beyond the scope. The cappuccino was overpriced and the same size as an espresso! And even a simple cake for €7 is an absolute disgrace. Previous visits have also shown an extreme reduction in portion size while prices have risen. Especially since the café itself is anything but cozy and inviting, especially in comparison to other Katzentemple locations.

Now that I have visited Café Katzentempel for the second time, I have to briefly give my opinion about it. There are definitely plus points for the vegan food. Even if the desserts there are an absolute sugar shock. I think that animal welfare is definitely not the focus there. The animals are exploited there for a purpose. The café is very crowded, rather uncomfortable and I also find it restless and stressful there. People are constantly getting up and walking around. The cats that lie at petting height are unwantedly touched, spoken to, photographed and harassed. An obviously sick, sensitive cat is not taken out and separated. She wasn't protected from the sheer stress there. Everyone was just warned that she wanted to be left alone?! Personally, I simply will not and cannot support such a concept and there is no need to justify it.

It is a very nice cafe. It is very normal for children to come and love a cafe where there are cats. But unfortunately, I cannot say good things about the female employee there, who is uncomfortable with this situation and shows her discomfort with her facial expressions, and constantly comes and warns the children.

Very cute and vegan restaurant where cats also live. The dishes are all vegan and very good. The cats are sweet and come when they feel like socializing. They can be petted and played with. It is advisable to make a reservation before your visit and, especially on weekends, to park in the City Gallery if you are traveling by car. At the entrance, make sure that one of two doors is always closed.

God I love this store! 😸🐈‍⬛ Great service, acceptable prices and you can also watch fluffy cats fighting over their favorite places 😂 The food was also amazing 🥗 I've never had a really good bowl before and thought I'd try it here and it was really good. Parking was also relaxed. A good place to go, especially for vegetarians. You can also reserve a place online and you should, as they are hotly contested 😬 Absolute recommendation

It's great there, It's a very calming environment, the cats are lovely and sweet, the customers are all quiet and the best thing is that the staff/waiters there are polite and reliably quick. It's my first time here and I know right away that it won't be the last time. I can say that much (if you're looking for employees, feel free to write 😂)

We were really incredibly thirsty... We waited and waited, the Lord even looked at us often, which gave us hope, which however died:( Dehydrated and not happy, we left the temple to quickly and friendly get our drinks at another place.

Visited Augsburg for three days and visited the Cat Temple three times! Super cute cats that you could spoil with treats every now and then.

Very tasty and good food. Unfortunately, it is also very expensive. The toilets here were also very dirty and not maintained, even though we were there at 11am.

We were pleasantly surprised by the selection of vegan and partly gluten-free dishes. We had never had sandwiches like this before. We had a Tiger Bowl, a Güggeli Sandwich (chicken) and a Thuno Sandwich (tuna). The portions were rather above average. The sandwiches came with a very attractive side salad. As a side dish there are fries, for example. The atmosphere is very cozy and if you want you can pet the very chilled cats. Conclusion: A great thing for the whole family with a bit of an event character. We'll definitely come back.

Today we went to the cat temple for the first time. We really liked the atmosphere. The cats are cute and photogenic. We ordered two sandwiches, fries and water. We really enjoyed the sandwiches and it's great that everything here is vegan. We thought the fries were really tasty! Still a bit expensive for what was offered, but of course if they have to help finance the cats it's ok. The service was friendly but a bit sleepy. But all in all we liked the cat temple.

Unfortunately, service is not really attentive when it comes to taking an order. Aside from the lamps hanging too low, even the chairs were full of crumbs and stuff. Then they just left after waiting too long 🤷🤷‍♂️

Nice idea to eat in the middle of 🐱

The food was delicious and the portions were quite large. I had the Banana Bread Sandwich and really loved it. We stayed there longer and, especially when it wasn't quite so crowded and bustling, all 5 cats came out and let themselves be scratched. A different solution should only be considered for the cat lock at the entrance. Unfortunately, many people don't notice the sign on the second door.

I was there today for the first - and unfortunately almost certainly last - time. The main criticism for me is the prices, but preparation and portion size were also difficult for me today. You can argue about the ambience, cats and cat merch just don't appeal to me as much as they obviously do to others in the café. The 0.4 liter matcha latte costs €5.10 and came without love or saucer, so I had to put the spoon that was in the glass on the table. That's not a bad thing, but it was annoying (there were no napkins at the table, I also had to get salt myself and the cutlery came shortly after the burger). For dinner I ordered the lunch special Tempelburger and Fritz Limo for €12.90 (normal burger price is €15.50) and a side salad for €4.00. The salad was still partly sandy and mushy at the edges and the portion was a bit small. The burger tasted good (beyond patty), but unfortunately it was cold and, above all, TINY. The size bothered me especially because the burgers and side dishes at the next tables looked more lavish and didn't differ much in price according to the menu; Maybe they didn't have the lunch offer (which somehow isn't a real offer anymore). In summary: I especially appreciate that the menu is 100% plant-based, but there seems to be a lack of operational structure. The service was very friendly and personable and politely accepted the criticisms. The food was quite good except for the points mentioned, but the price-performance ratio doesn't seem to me to be good here. Good luck to the café, unfortunately it's not for me.

My daughter, who has been here several times, has always raved to me about the food and ambience. As part of a congress, I took advantage of the opportunity to visit the cat temple myself with my colleagues. The food was first class, the ambience was unique - also thanks to the Mauzis. If I end up here again, I'll definitely come back.

For everyone who plans to visit this restaurant: I tried to spontaneously get a table for 2 people on 3 different days and each time we were turned away with the statement that there was no more space and that it was too busy. But from outside you could see that half the restaurant was empty. Apparently a reservation is a must. One might think that the Cat Temple wants to be considered exclusive. Unfortunately I can't judge the rest. If you only want to eat vegan, you often have the option on the street...

I had breakfast here for under €20 and ordered 2 drinks. There are paid parking spaces nearby, but otherwise you can easily get there via public transport or on foot. You can easily reserve a table online. The menu and rules are also available online. In general, you shouldn't be too intrusive towards the cats. These come to the table on their own. I didn't see any cat hair on the tables. The food is prepared accordingly, as you would expect from good cafés. The breakfast plate was decorated with the print of a cat's paw. Please feel free to do more like this.

Very nice concept, it was the first time in a cat coffee shop. Well implemented and very comfortable 😁🐈🐈‍⬛ Unfortunately there is still some room for improvement when it comes to coffee, it tastes very bitter. Please adjust the fully automatic machine more finely and do not let it extract for so long. Then the coffee will be tastier too 😊😋👌🏽

Unfortunately, our anticipation was bitterly disappointed. Despite the almost empty dining room, we were not allowed entry after 20 minutes of waiting. A visibly overwhelmed employee put us off again by saying she had to prepare the tables first. As I said, in an almost empty restaurant. Nothing like this has ever happened to us before. It's a shame when a good concept is implemented so carelessly.

The cats are super cute. Of course, cat hair is flying everywhere (you have to be aware of that). It would be a really cute café if the service wasn't so unfriendly and inattentive. We had to wait a long time and didn't feel looked after. The breakfast is very simple and almost carelessly prepared. The sandwich was delicious. The coffee is not recommended (coffee cup was only half full).

Went to Augsburg today to visit the cat temple. I can't understand some of the reviews. We liked it very much. Everything was very clean and attractive. We had reserved online and that was also requested. Ordering went very quickly. The eater was very tasty. The cats slept in different places. In terms of price, it is already at the upper limit. The three of us paid just over €100 with dessert. But I also know that vegan products are simply expensive. So it was OK for us. We'd love to come back when we're nearby.

I don't think I've had such a relaxing meal anywhere as there. I was there with a friend and my son (10 months old). I was allowed to take the stroller in and was “warned” that it would then be occupied by the cats. It didn't bother me at all to have a few cat hairs on the car. Why? The food was terrific, delivered super quickly and really tasty. My son really liked it too. He was able to explore the store and carefully pet the cats. I would go there again at any time!

Monday 3 p.m., so there was very little going on and we had the 6 temple cats almost to ourselves... or they to ourselves... :-) Food was good and there was a quiet, relaxed atmosphere. Anyone who loves cats and isn't afraid of vegan food will definitely feel at home here.

It's a shame, we had imagined it differently... After making an online reservation, we showed up at the restaurant on time. We then stood in the anteroom for about a quarter of an hour until we were let in. The reservation was only checked by asking us whether we had made a reservation. To our surprise, there were 5 tables available. We were taken to a table at the back of the restaurant and then left to sit here. Food was served around us and orders were taken at the next table, but without making eye contact with us. We waited patiently, partly to slow down, for half an hour without anyone noticing us, let alone taking an order, before leaving the restaurant again. A pity!

That was really an awesome experience! I was there for the first time today and they have a new chef. I think his name is Michael. Although he was really hard at work and did his work extremely well and conscientiously, he still had time to greet me and my friends in a very friendly way and to inform me in detail about everything that was important! He always has an open ear and helps with every question! Then to dinner! What he served us was incredibly good! He does it in such detail and with love, I've never experienced it before! Everything was exactly as it had to be. Everything is very fresh and crunchy and delicious. Never expected to get the best food I've ever eaten here! Thank you so much Michael!! We will come by more often!

Both times I visited were terrible experiences. The first time, I went to pick up my order, and the girls there were frankly impolite, but I could understand it was busy. However, the second time was even worse. When I arrived, the waitress yelled at me, insisting I close the door while I was in the process of doing so. She seemed incredibly bothered by my presence. I just got a drink to go, and the cup was only half full despite paying 5 euros for it. I have no intention of ever returning, and if I could, I would rate them zero.

Clear recommendation! Very pleasant, relaxed atmosphere, top service and excellent cuisine too! I'm a self-confessed carnivore and will stay that way, but I'm definitely looking forward to your next burger!! You can tell that high-quality ingredients are used, and your salad dressing (in this case raspberry) - unique! The lemonades are also highly recommended. Yes, okay, you pay a few euros more compared to other restaurants, but for such quality and considering that a few cats want to be catered for, it's absolutely justified! I definitely think it's nice that the cats can let off steam but also retreat. During our visit the shop was really buzzing at times, we were pleasantly surprised at how calm and relaxed the cats were able to deal with it. Keep it up, we look forward to the next visit :)

When you enter you have to wait until you are asked. That no cat can escape. It's nicely decorated and, if you're lucky, you'll have the company of a cat. And personally, I can't find anything wrong with vegan cuisine!

The cat temple is always wonderful and we traveled almost 3 hours to spend time here 😊. However, it is incredibly stressful and extremely annoying for me as a customer when a family with two children is so incredibly loud and inconsiderate. I had a child with me and he didn't find it particularly pleasant either! It's a shame that the staff didn't even say anything, even though it's actually pointed out in the menu.

I am always amazed by Cat Temple. After Munich and Regensburg, I was now in the Augsburg temple. I can recommend the branch with a clear conscience. Service is friendly. Ambiance is appealing. The food was very good. We had main course plus dessert. For selection see below. If we're in Augsburg again, we'd love to come by again. And of course: The cats are really sweet and trusting. As long as you follow cat etiquette, you'll really have a great time here

Great location, nice staff and although I like to eat meat, I really enjoyed the vegan food. The portions look smaller online than they are. Big compliments to the kitchen. Will definitely come back
