I can highly recommend the "Fur Noses Breakfast" (for two), I'm not usually a fan of vegan food... very tasty and more than enough. We were there quite early and were able to admire and pet the adorable cats sitting next to us 😍. The service was very friendly. We'll be back.

I recently visited Katzentempel in Augsburg and I can only say: it was really good! Even as a non-vegan, you'll find truly delicious food here. The ingredients are fresh, well-seasoned, and the portions are perfectly generous. The atmosphere is relaxed; you can simply unwind and enjoy your time. And the staff was really nice, incredibly friendly and attentive without being intrusive. All in all: I can highly recommend Katzentempel, whether you're vegan or not. The place simply has a pleasant, tranquil atmosphere and great food.

We came here with great anticipation for cats and vegan food. Unfortunately, we were rather disappointed overall and wouldn't come back. It makes sense that guests have to wait in a vestibule to enter; after all, no one wants a cat to escape. However, the fact that the staff doesn't keep an eye on this vestibule and there's no way to make yourself known is rather inconvenient. We stood there for at least 10 minutes waiting to be admitted. Once inside the dining room, the chairs and benches are a bit uncomfortable, and the overall atmosphere is a bit chilly, but the cats are truly cute. They're the main reason for coming here. Of course, you have to be aware that the cats might be sleeping and don't want to be disturbed, but that was fine with us. We were able to interact with some of the animals, and they were well-socialized. The service, on the other hand, was abysmal. Inattentive, unfriendly, and simply overwhelmed (even though only about half the dining room was occupied). Drinks and food couldn't be ordered at the same time, which led to additional waiting times. Despite repeated explanations, our order was not understood and promptly delivered incorrectly. The menu sounded promising, even if it was very confusing. The meal itself, however, was quite disappointing. The portion sizes were okay, and the salad and fries were also fine, but the burgers tasted exclusively of sauce; the other ingredients could have been left out. The texture wasn't particularly great either; everything was just soft. No crisp lettuce on the burger or anything similar. The plant-based pulled pork bore little resemblance to the product it was intended to imitate; it was rather chewy and had no flavor of its own. The homemade lemonade was far too sour, consisting almost entirely of lemon juice, and was a real yellow color. Last but not least, we were very annoyed that in a restaurant that claims to place great importance on being environmentally friendly, they handed out straws (without asking) – especially for a hot drink, which makes even less sense than for a cold one. This makes you realize that the "green veneer" is more show than substance. The prices are rather ambitious – I paid over €25 for a burger with salad and fries, plus a soda, which is definitely on the high end and doesn't match the quality.

The chickpea curry was amazing.

The waiter, Noah, in particular, did an outstanding job and looked after us with the utmost care. He created an atmosphere that even Michelin Guide restaurants pale in comparison. His charm, coupled with the uniquely homey feel of the cat temple, led to a huge increase in sales for the restaurant. With his deep blue eyes, he practically read our every wish from our lips, so we never hesitated to order seconds.

Cats... I was walking down the street and out of the corner of my eye I noticed there were cats and I didn't even look at the menu and went in 😄

I was already totally impressed by the Katzentempel in Munich, and the one in Augsburg is also very nice. I love everything about this concept. The vegan pulled pork was once again extremely tasty.

Vegan food is super delicious, and that's from a meat eater. The ambiance is nice and pleasant. I was particularly impressed by the atmosphere. Despite the fact that there were a few children present (I was there with two or three of my children), it was noticeably quiet and very relaxing. I can't imagine a regular visit due to the distance from my hometown, but when I visit Augsburg, I'll be happy to come back!

I love the restaurant. Everything is vegan and the ambiance is great. The cats are rather shy, but it's really fun to watch them even from a distance. The cats have good places to retreat to, which I think is very important. The food has always been delicious. There are also unusual and special savory dishes, although I personally prefer the sweet ones. A piece of cake and coffee is always a good choice. 10/10 vegan points

I visited Katzentempel for the second time yesterday, and unlike the first time, all the cats were there and were active towards the end of the evening. The first time, in the afternoon, only one was active and one was sleeping. The fries are very tasty. We also really enjoyed the sandwiches, salads, and bowls. The price is a bit higher than other vegan restaurants, but I think you're paying for the cats here, which is totally fine. There's only one server in the entire restaurant, which can sometimes lead to longer wait times. A little patience never hurts. All in all, a very nice restaurant and definitely an enrichment to Augsburg's vegan restaurant scene.

Stopped by with friends. The service was very friendly, and the ambiance also made a positive impression. I was surprised when it turned out they didn't serve meat, as I hadn't really checked the menu beforehand. What surprised me even more, however, was that my Beyond Meat cheeseburger was actually really, really good – admittedly, I expected worse (my experiences with meat substitutes were generally not comparable). The burger was very good overall, the fries were fantastic, as were the smoothies, which were available as summer specials at the time. I found the prices relatively reasonable. And, of course, the most important thing: Gatze. Petting Gatze. Well, half of the cats were unfortunately gone, and the ones present were doing their own thing in typical feline fashion, but as soon as the waitress gave us treats at the end, we immediately had a few cats with us; one ventured right into the middle of the table (after it had been cleared). Then we had 15 minutes of petting and photos. Nice Great experience! If you're in the area, you should stop by.

The burgers and fries were delicious, the breakfast special was okay. I can't recommend the matcha latte. The cats seem to be doing very well (there's a quiet room and plenty of climbing opportunities), and the service was great too. We'd love to come back!

Extremely overpriced, the food tasted terrible, and you only pay for the cats. And then these cats are either asleep or there are fewer cats than promised. It's a vegan café, but it gives off eco-friendly, rainbow vibes 🌈 . A shame! I wish I'd saved myself the two-hour drive.

We really enjoyed breakfast here. The banana bread is delicious, and the cats add the perfect touch to the whole ambiance. I'd love to come back to experience this wonderful breakfast (with so much attention to detail) and the very friendly staff again! 🫶

We were here with our 4-year-old daughter, and I have to say we felt very comfortable. Although I'm not a big vegan fan, I have to say it was extremely delicious. I was pleasantly surprised. The cats were, of course, an absolute highlight for both my daughter and me. We'd love to come back.

We ate there and can absolutely recommend it! It's a fully vegan restaurant, and we tried both burgers – they were absolutely delicious. The burgers are a prime example of how fantastic vegan food can taste. Besides the food, the atmosphere is also particularly great: the cats create an incredibly cozy and special atmosphere, making the visit something truly special. A real highlight for us – we'll definitely be back!

Unfortunately, I personally didn't like the food that much, and the coffee wasn't great either. But the staff was friendly.

The cats are cute, but the food started off weak and then declined sharply. The burgers are served with an unnaturally sweet sauce that would be more suited to gummy bears than a burger. Otherwise, there's little choice and almost no small snacks. The smallest was a slice of bread with spread and vegetables for a whopping €8.

Well, what can I say? If you like cats, you'll enjoy these beautiful house cats. I'd rather not recommend the food. The cake is delicious and tasty, but the burgers are a disaster. Maybe it's because I'm not vegan, but the cheese in the burger tasted like moldy bread. As is always the case these days, restaurateurs think they can just keep the prices high, but that's a different story. I didn't like it, and not just because the entire café needs a renovation.

There were four of us here. Despite the unusual time (2:00 PM), it was still quite hectic. There were a lot of customers, and some of the cats were a bit shy as a result. Everything was delicious. The waitress took quite a while to come to our table to check. I liked that there was no time limit. You shouldn't come here expecting a chilled-out cat to lie down and snooze right next to you on the bench. Still, it was a nice visit.

Highly recommended even for non-vegans. The food was very good, top quality, and lovingly prepared. The ambiance was fantastic.

Hello everyone, I was at the katzenthempel today and it's a really great restaurant for breakfast. I'm such a fan of the katzenthempel.

Very good hamburger with generous ingredients. Original tasting sauce. Maybe a little too sweet.

Waited over 45 minutes and never received menus, drinks—nothing. Nobody came to take our order, even though we were clearly waiting and visibly hungry. The staff weren’t the nicest either, which just added to the frustration. In the end, we left without even getting a menu, let alone ordering anything, because we were too tired and disappointed to keep waiting. The cats were cute, but they didn’t make up for the poor service. Overall, a very underwhelming experience — we’ll probably not be coming back.

The Steak & Fries Bowl is spicy, so spicy that it tastes perfect for me, as someone who likes spicy food. The Meowjito came with three ice cubes, and the rest of the time it's just a mocktail. Completely different from other restaurants that often add 10 ice cubes and then only pour three drops of drink into the glass. The atmosphere is super nice, and the cats contribute to a cozy atmosphere. Truly a wonderful place and one of the best cat temple locations!

Our absolute favorite restaurant. Even my husband, who isn't vegan, loves it here. The food is delicious, the service is friendly, and the cats are incredibly cute. However, if you want to eat there around lunchtime on the weekend, you should make a reservation early.

I was there with ALF. We had five cats: two sweet and sour, two with white wine, and one spicy with vegetables, cooked medium-well. It was great. We'll go back if ALF is in the area again. Cats prepared like this come at a price, though.

Great concept! The vegan food is super delicious and I also recommend the house lemonades. The service is very professional and friendly and always keeps the cats' well-being in mind. The cats are not forced to entertain people here, but can decide for themselves when they want to interact with people and when they would prefer to withdraw.

Very good food. Friendly service. Great cafe, but it would be better for the cats if guests with children who run around loudly and grab the cats don't come to a cat cafe. We have cats ourselves and I felt very sorry for the cats. Despite all the stress, the nice service ladies did their best to save the situation. We'd love to come back.

Phew, what can I say, really difficult shop. The food is great, the prices are very high, but what's most annoying is the extreme unfriendliness. Families with small children. After several visits with my children, they are not welcome guests in the cat cafe. Always in the way, too clumsy when dealing with the cats, too loud (normal childish characteristics). However, this is constantly pointed out or warned that the children should not always be in the way. Maybe it's not just because of the children, but because of the extremely cramped rooms...?? Have you ever thought about it? Staff really seem overwhelmed every time they visit, no matter how many guests there are. We won't be going there anymore, my children were really scared today when they were reprimanded by the kitchen staff. It was really excessive and inappropriate. You get the feeling that the cats are more important than children, think about your priorities...

The food was fantastic, 😋 it was filling without making you feel bloated. Highly recommended for cyclists, especially road bikers. A second server would be welcome; it would make things easier. The poor woman is jumping around in a triangle!! The cats probably only work in the city. Since we're from the country, that wasn't interesting for us. There's enough jumping around there. 😅

My husband and I found the atmosphere very relaxed. What we liked best was that the young employee was so friendly and patient: we even had questions about the cats answered. Today we went to the cat temple for the first time. The room is very small overall, but it's perfectly fine for "going out for something to eat." The cats don't lack anything, they can withdraw and also make contact. Unfortunately, despite there being few customers, we had to wait a long time in the entrance until we were noticed. It also took an unreasonably long time until we received the menu. The dishes on the menu are a little higher priced than in other shops, but it's ok. It would be nice if there were more gluten-free alternatives. There are such great burgers and sandwiches, unfortunately I can't eat any of them. There was also no individual salad. All that was left was a bowl and fries. The cake also contained gluten throughout, with the exception of a very sumptuous-sounding dessert. I would hope that there might be one or two more alternatives in the future. The service was otherwise friendly.

The Katzentempel Augsburg is a café that offers a large selection of vegan/vegetarian dishes. The service was nice and the food & drinks were delicious. If you are planning a visit, you should definitely make a reservation as the “temple” is quite popular. We'd love to come back!

I can only 'recommend' a visit to the Cat Temple in Augsburg... At least for the sake of the local cats, who are a thousand times friendlier than the staff. The ladies urgently need further training or rather a different job, because they are out of place: unfriendly, even though there was hardly anything going on, we had to wait, the coffee came, we had to ask for sugar. After paying including the tip, we weren't allowed to leave, a waitress asked a colleague twice loudly whether 'they' had paid... It's a shame about the sweet mitzies on site, I won't be entering the location again.

The temple is incredibly small, unfortunately the service wasn't all that good...we had to wait about 15 minutes for service and another 15 for the order, even though there really wasn't much going on...the prices are also pretty high (€8 for a piece of ready-made cake). It's a shame we won't come again...

Really nice, cozy restaurant, with very tasty food and special dishes that suit the season. And everything is completely vegan, so you can order everything and don't need any special requests to "veganize" a dish or become a side dish eater. Can only recommend the “Chilli con Fritten”. 🫶🏻 Oh and you shouldn't forget Findus (the orange cat), a very sweet and friendly cat. Service is always top and really nice.

This place is highly recommended for cat lovers. In addition to the six sweet cats, who are offered many opportunities to climb and relax, the lovingly prepared and extremely delicious food is also impressive. The friendly waitress exuded a good mood and knew how to nicely point out to three small children who were about to wake up a sleeping cat that it probably needed to rest now. It is advisable to make a reservation as the store was completely full when we visited.

I was there for the first time today with a good friend, we both love cats, and felt very comfortable in the cat atmosphere. We both agreed that we would like to visit a restaurant again. Unfortunately the food came to the table cold, I didn't say anything out of politeness because I could see how busy the restaurant was, but the staff were very busy but I would ask them to make sure that the food arrives warm to the guest.

Price for customer unfriendliness On December 26th, 2024 around 2 p.m. I wanted to spontaneously visit this café for the second time with my four-year-old son and husband. My child really wanted to pet the cats. Already in the first few seconds it was clear that the waitress who was working at that time had no interest in other customers. Even though there were plenty of empty tables, she said we couldn't get a table without a reservation. My son cried. With the crying child, I had to tell her that it was very customer-unfriendly to close the door loudly and without comment in front of the child. During that time even more tables became available. I asked if we could sit down for at least 30 minutes for the child's sake. The lady then said that I wasn't a waitress in this café and couldn't assess the table occupancy. In addition, according to her statement, the café was supposedly closing in an hour. Eventually it became clear that it wasn't about the reservation at all. The waitress simply didn't feel like working and wanted to get off work as soon as possible. I sat outside on the windowsill of the café with the crying child. My husband saw through the window how this lady was happy and laughing about the child being separated. She was happy that she could exercise her power as if she were the winner in this situation. She just doesn't realize that she's only hurting the cafe owner. My child calmed down in my arms after 10 minutes and we went to pet cats with our friends for free and in a good mood. There are no irreplaceable service staff. The cafe owner will only win if it throws out this condition. I have good contacts in the Augsburg tourism industry and will not only advise families with children, but also all guests of the city, to visit Cafe Katzetempel.

Super cutely decorated café with endless climbing and playing opportunities for the 6 cats. Quiet atmosphere and very tasty food! The employees were also extremely friendly. Gladly again! 😻
