The atmosphere is great! The food is fabulous and the service is wonderful. We enjoyed a delicious dinner.

Absolutely fabulous place. Yesterday we had a word with my wife: we should have steak. Today we went to Kathi's and we had steak. The food is PERFECT, the service was excellent - only the price is high, but the meat quality is that you are paying for (besides the professional knowledge of how to make it).

Today, around 7:30 p.m., I ordered a ribeye steak to take out. According to the description, it was US beef. The price difference between the German and US steaks was significant, and as a chef, I thought, "Let's give the US steak a chance." The steak cost €54, totaling €60 with tip. After ordering, I was asked if I wanted a side dish—I deliberately chose not to, preferring to enjoy the pure flavor of the meat. I ordered it medium, and it was cooked correctly—medium. However, the meat was quite tough and rubbery, difficult to cut in places. I'm not one for easy criticism, but as a chef who has worked in a Michelin-starred restaurant and now runs two of my own restaurants, I have to say: The price was unfortunately not justified in this case. The salt and pepper flavor is classic and always works, but for this price, I would have expected higher quality and tenderness. I'll attach a video showing how I prepare a steak at home for around €40, as well as an example of a steak from a Michelin-starred set menu (7 courses, €180), to clearly demonstrate the difference. I hope you understand what I'm trying to convey with this feedback.

We were real regulars for years – but what happened?! There's no warm baguette with our beef tea anymore, the rump steak (ordered medium!) was dry and completely overcooked. The grilled seasonal vegetables, once always fresh, juicy, and crisp, are now soft and greasy. And all this at higher prices. Once a highlight, now unfortunately just a disappointment. Please improve!

Very tasty dishes, meat-heavy as the name suggests, but really very good quality. Highly recommended. We had a reservation for four people on a Thursday evening, and most of the tables were also reserved.

Perfect as always :) Whenever we want to treat ourselves, we come here – we've known it for years… the menu has changed a bit, but the cuisine and quality haven't! I have to admit that a steak knife on the rump steak today wouldn't have been a bad idea because of the fat on the edge – but otherwise, there are no complaints! We'll be happy to come back. The ambiance is still beautiful and harmonious, the service friendly, attentive, and cheerful. Unfortunately, the food has declined. Dishes have disappeared or been changed. Sauces are thinner, everything has less flavor, there's less on the plate, and the steaks are no longer cooked as requested, but are uniformly pink/rare, even though we ordered three different cuts at the table. This was our last visit to our regular restaurant.

Visiting Kathi's Steakhouse with colleagues from customer service!!! It's amazing that customer service is so important here – it just feels right; the staff is the flagship of the restaurant today. As for the food… every dish presented to us was a feast for the eyes and a taste revelation. Perfect ingredients lovingly prepared – I was a bit proud to have chosen this restaurant in front of my North German guests. We will definitely be back – also for other occasions. The most delicious Japanese Wagyu beef we've eaten outside of Japan. The meat soup called meat tea is very tasty with a soft and tasty meat skewer. Great service.

Very friendly and fast service. The chef's special was highly recommended. A spicy gazpacho. The 300g Argentinian grain-fed Black Angus rump steak was very good. Definitely a recommendation.

The restaurant is upscale, no question. The atmosphere is very relaxed and truly pleasant. The food, in my opinion and for the price, was a bit lacking. I missed the roasted flavors in the steak, and the Caesar salad was unfortunately a bit soggy, but the shrimp were exceptionally delicious. Overall, the restaurant is very good, with some reservations. The prices are high (for example, the Caesar salad at almost €40 is quite a statement). I'll probably come back sometime anyway.

I've been hearing raves about Kathi's Steakhouse for a long time, and now I understand why. The truffle pasta is so delicious you could dive into it. My companion had steak on both visits and was more than thrilled. Kathi's could be my new favorite steakhouse, were the words. The desserts were always spot on... And the cotton candy ice cream is a 12/10 ❤️ The service is more than attentive and friendly and contributes greatly to the great atmosphere ❤️

Wir besuchen Kathis schon seit viele Jahren, früher auch extrem gerne Das Ochs in Erding (Zweigstelle, aufgegeben). Günstig war es noch nie, bei heutigem Besuch waren wir schockiert…César Salad mit Garnelen für 37,00 EUR, Glas Cola 7,50 EUR…geht‘s noch? Das ist Freisinger eher einfache Ecke. Nicht 5* im Andaz in München und der ist günstiger. Das war‘s dann wohl!

I had been there with guests from Brazil coming from Munich airport. I arrived with my car on a Tuesday after 20:00 parking next to the restaurant. There was no hint that also a parking fee applies at this time. But they take fotos and a very expensive bill for parking came later. I will never choose this restaurant again with guests - looked for me as a fraud.

Excellent service, a lovely ambiance both inside and out. The food is very good, especially the truffle flavor, which came through perfectly, and the meat was cooked exactly as ordered.

I've eaten here many times. An absolute delight every time. Really top-notch. Highly recommended.

I've been here three times now and the second time I was disappointed with the same dish. I had the pasta with fillet tips and truffles for almost €40. There were only 2 thin slices of shaved truffle on the pasta and the meat was a complete disappointment. Supposedly it's supposed to be fillet. I find pieces of fillet with a fatty edge and visible to be rather unusual. I told the waiter this when he asked us how the food was (it was obvious since almost all of the meat was still on my plate). I would have appreciated an apology and some attention to the house, but unfortunately nothing came. I'm not coming anymore.

Very good food in itself - ironically the vegetarian dishes taste best. Unfortunately, the steak didn't convince us - so the price/performance ratio wasn't right. Conclusion: if you have a lot of money, you can do it - but unfortunately it's not worth the money.

Kathi’s Steakhouse in Freising is a special address. We have been coming here to eat occasionally for 10 years. The service staff is very attentive and friendly. The ambience is great. The food is very high quality, tasty and rich. We also really enjoyed the greeting from the kitchen today. The drinks are also top. If you want to eat well and don't have to pay attention to every euro, this is the place for you! The steakhouse is busy, so you should reserve in advance.

We went here for dinner for the first time today based on many recommendations. I called quite spontaneously and was lucky enough to be able to reserve a table an hour later. It's just a great restaurant, with very attentive, friendly service and incredibly delicious food!! We had a US beef fillet that melted in the mouth and pasta in lobster sauce with fillet strips, it was all a 10/10. Any time again and really worth every single cent, the best steakhouse I've had the pleasure of getting to know in and around Munich. Thank you very much for the great food, see you soon!

This steakhouse is probably the best you can find in Freising. There is a large selection of high quality meat, and even a butcher next door where you can buy steaks. The service is very good and the food, as mentioned above, is excellent. In summer you can sit outside in the courtyard.

Great advice and flexibility regarding side dishes; The jus, the barbecue sauce and also the caramelized onions are particularly noteworthy here! The meat itself was also extremely tasty, but unfortunately it gets cold a little too quickly, so you could fine-tune it if necessary. But that is criticism at a high level. The ambience is nice, especially the old wooden ceiling is an eye-catcher, but I have already visited fancier steakhouses.

I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant and absolutely loved it. As soon as I entered I was warmly welcomed - the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, so you immediately feel at home. A special highlight was the small gift before the main course: a bowl of pumpkin soup, which was not only a nice gesture, but also tasted excellent. My main course, a burger with fries and coleslaw, was just perfect. The burger was juicy and tasted excellent, the fries were crispy and seasoned just right, and the coleslaw impressed with a pleasant balance - not too creamy, but wonderfully fresh. The crowning finale was crème brûlée, where I was asked whether I wanted it with or without alcohol (flambéed) - a great service! The dessert was exactly as it should be: a crispy caramel crust and a wonderfully creamy filling. Overall, a completely successful experience. I can fully recommend the restaurant and am already looking forward to my next visit!

Every course was fantastic. From the perfectly grilled octopus, amazing steak tartar, delicious duck, hand crafted cocktails, and tasty desserts. Service left a bit to be desired. Rarely came by, we had to get our own menus for dessert, and had to flag her down to get the check. Also, I found the message at the top of the receipt offensive and cheap. I lived in Germany for over five years, and have never seen a server asking for a tip. I have always tipped until today. Not a very good reflection of the restaurant.

A steakhouse in Freising, great thing! At least 3 cooks on site on Friday lunchtime, so everything is clean. Going out for lunch for two for €75, I still thought it was too much, the burger was €2 and for €24 each including coleslaw and fries, too much. The demands seem to be high, the prices and the implementation do not reflect it.

I ordered the medium rib-eye steak with a baked potato and sour cream. Unfortunately, the food did not meet my expectations. The steak was not hot enough, and the baked potato was served cold. Given the positive ratings I had seen, I expected a higher standard of quality. Compared to other steakhouses, the experience fell short. Additionally, my table was located directly in front of the kitchen, and the ventilation system was inadequate. The kitchen odors were quite noticeable, which impacted the overall dining experience. This establishment has potential but needs improvements in both food quality and restaurant setup to match the expectations set by its ratings.

We ordered medium rare of RIBEYE and BEEF-VARIATION DE LUXE, but it came out well done. Disappointed with that. The appetizers were good, though.

Delicious food, friendly and timely service, and a lovely restaurant. Do yourself a favor and come here for a meal. I know I will the next time I am in town.

Unfortunetly I had aweful experience at this restaurant. I ordered Rib eye steak - USA Black Angus Prime Beef - MS 6-7. but the served steak has no fat taste. it was like grass fed beef. the shape of the steak doesn't look like ribeye steak. I raised my complaint and the chef showed me two cuts of beef before preparing the steak again. One side was regular rib eye beef with marbling and the other side was beef with no marbling at all and didn't look like ribeye cut. I recommend asking the waiter to show you the meat of the steak you ordered.

The bar reception is great for an aperitif. The service lady kindly pointed out the sizes of some dishes. The appetizer platter for 2 was absolutely top. The beef tartar, for example, was too spicy for us and didn't taste as good, but that's to everyone's taste. Afterwards my partner had a steak which was also very delicious and my dessert, the mousse au chocolat, was a revelation!!!! The restaurant has a great ambience. Gladly again!

Steaks tender, very good service

Our families, some of whom live in Freising, can certainly be counted among the regular guests of this restaurant. Our favorite appetizer for years has included a beef tartare with spices, coarse salt, capers, salad variation, quail egg, and warm, toasted garlic bread slices. In anticipation of being able to enjoy this brilliant appetizer, we were served: A plate of tartare sprinkled with coarse salt, a basket of plain bread. That's it. (They even forgot the coarse salt on my plate). We had the impression that the waiter had brought it out of the kitchen and the plates weren't ready yet. When we asked whether we had forgotten something here, the brisk blonde waitress gave the short answer: No, that's how it is now, we've changed the map. (The price has been increased and the inserts removed.) The waitress felt attacked; We could have been a little friendlier in our inquiries and it all ended in an endless discussion. Conclusion: We should apologize to her for attacking her like that. - Incredible - All she had to do was say: I will pass on your request to management. We believe management should be made aware of this incident and draw lessons from it. The guest is the capital of the business. Otherwise, the restaurant has so far fully earned the five stars I gave it here.

Poor quality, price/performance definitely did not match on December 26th, 2024, a steak was served cold, another steak was served completely undercooked, products that were not ordered were served, completely overpriced side dishes were also cold through exchange, completely overpriced octopus was also charred, the planned Birthday dinner with the. A very good steakhouse! I'm in the area for work and went there without any recommendation and I'm more than thrilled. The service is quick and knows everything about everything, the kitchen does a brilliant job on the grill or the stove. Also perfect advice on the respective types of meat. Despite the restaurant being full, the food came within 15 minutes. I am more than thrilled!

Very good food At lunchtime there are various dishes at a cheaper price, but the quantity of dishes is still more than enough.

It was supposed to be something special for the anniversary and it was. We were warmly welcomed and since our table wasn't ready yet, we sat down in the adjoining bar and were warmly looked after there too. A few minutes later we were escorted to our table and were able to order straight away. The food is prepared on the open grill and you can watch it. When it came I was really excited. The quality and doneness were perfect. The nice ladies in service looked after us wonderfully! Thank you for the wonderful evening that we will not forget!

We think this steakhouse is a gem. On the edge of the city center and yet romantically located in the inner courtyard with the possibility of dining outdoors. You will be pampered here with friendly staff and excellent delicacies. Portions are reasonably large and everything is freshly prepared. We were lucky enough to be able to witness the preparation live so we could judge it. It was a lovely evening and we enjoyed it very much. Only the somewhat small tables for two people could be a little larger. Price performance is okay, even if you can't often spend that much money, but it also makes it a special experience.

Holy cow!! 10/10 highly recommend (no they did not ask me to review them). My fiancé and I were staying at the Munich airport and decided to take a short 12 minute bus to Freising. From the bus stop, we did have a 15 minute walk from the bus stop. I had the burger and my fiancé had the Spanish iberico pork. 100% worth the trip, absolutely amazing, fast, and cooked perfectly. Staff was awesome too!

A great restaurant. Mood, ambience, service and especially the food deserve a solid 10/10. The waitresses are all courteous and looking out for the guest's well-being. You never have to wait and feel very welcome. The steak, especially the “old fat cow” is particularly recommended! The outdoor area is particularly nice to sit. Reservations are an advantage.

Was on work, travel staying at the Hilton hotel at Munich airport. It was worth the €30 cab ride to go eat €32 cab ride back. If ever in town again, I will definitely stop in and have dinner.

We come regularly, and we only recently made a reservation there for a special occasion. The waiters are friendly, attentive and rarely make mistakes. The food is really good, we don't eat our steak anywhere else in Freising. The lobster soup, the potato gratin and the farmer's salad are particularly recommended. You can taste that everything is fresh and homemade and I have rarely eaten such a good gratin. I'm not usually a fan of lobster soup, but I would come back again and again just for that. My only criticism is that you can't order the meat smaller, such as 150g, this is only possible with the Simmental fillet.
