Anyone entering the casino after a lecture embarks on a culinary adventure—somewhere between a gourmet temple and a gambling hall. The name is certainly aptly chosen, and it says it all: You never know what to expect. Some days, a tender veal schnitzel is served that soothes even the soul. On others, you'll encounter fries so salty that you'll need a liter of saline infusion afterward—to correct osmosis, of course. The portion sizes also follow no known logic. Sometimes there's a mountain on your plate that would make even Mount Everest envious; sometimes you have to search for the main course with a microscope. It almost seems as if a roll of dice decides who gets their fill and who flees to the bakery afterward. In conclusion: The casino is not a place for the faint of heart or regular meals—but for students with a sense of adventure, a sense of humor, and an emergency snack in their backpack. UPDATE: The casino has since transformed into a culinary Bermuda Triangle—a place where taste, concept, and satiety regularly disappear, never to reappear. What once began as a charming venture between gourmet luck and cafeteria roulette is now often nothing more than a forced diet under laboratory conditions. The portions are now so sparse that one wonders if the kitchen staff is secretly conducting an experiment on voluntary calorie reduction in student life. If you order a "premium dish," if you're unlucky, you'll get a lonely piece of meat, sadly floating in a puddle of sauce, obviously desirous of being on another plate. The flavors resemble a brave but failed foray into the unknown: chili, curry, coconut, chickpeas, all in one pile—sounds wild, and unfortunately, tastes that way too. One gets the impression that the dishes are created according to the principle of "we simply throw together whatever we have" – like a culinary utilization of leftovers with overconfidence. Added to this is a certain resignation in the service: inattentiveness, a lack of overview, and sometimes you simply don't get what you ordered – unless you order the exact small piece of meat that you end up getting. Instead of focusing on tried-and-tested dishes with a clear structure and reliable quality, the focus here is on constantly changing innovations, many of which seem neither sensible nor edible. The impression is created that the creative ambition can't keep pace with the reality in the kitchen – and in the end, it's us who pay the price with our hungry stomachs. In short: The casino is no longer an adventure – but a daily risk. Not for the stomach, but for your mood, wallet, and stamina. Anyone who doesn't consider providing themselves with rolls or chocolate bars afterward must either live an ascetic life or give up. Maximum three stars. With a growling stomach, disappointed taste buds, and an ironically bowed head, there's nothing more you can do, even with the best will in the world. We recommend bringing a sense of humor, leaving expectations at home—and, just in case, having a plan B for lunch.

As a student, I have to say that the casino is always a welcome place... The food is actually always quite good, and you can always find something; although it's worth mentioning that some of the offerings are truly excellent and go far beyond the standard of a simple cafeteria. The sauces for the pasta bar, however, are in dire need of an overhaul, as they are often too thin or bland. Unfortunately, the same applies to the soups.

I have been visiting the staff restaurant for decades (!) and am generally impressed by the consistently high quality and the friendly staff. There are 4 dishes to choose from. One of them is self-service and is usually the cheapest option at 4 to 5 euros. Menu 4 can cost 9 euros, but it is worth the money. Two bedside tables are available and there is a pasta and salad bar. Sure, it's full and queues can quickly form, but that's due to the spatial conditions, which can hardly be changed. From my side a👍👍👍

Very tasty food and a wide selection every day at a fair price. It's impressive that they manage to feed such a large number of employees and students with such good quality food every day.

The staff and selection are fine. The dear chef should realize that this is a canteen. The prices are on the verge of being affordable for what is delivered. Sometimes cold food, small portions, combinations that are too extravagant and sometimes sand and other unpleasant things in the plate. Rather limited space and chaotic even for a canteen

Unfortunately, the offering has decreased in terms of taste, and the offering has also become slightly worse (e.g. salad bar). At the same time, prices have risen sharply. Unfortunately it's no longer cheap and therefore somehow misses the point of a staff restaurant. By the way, the chef is outrageously cheeky and unprofessional when communicating with the guests and should take part in an etiquette course!

Unfortunately there is very little supply available. Unfortunately, very high-calorie food. Troubled conditions.

You can definitely tell that the will is there.

New dishes are proposed every day for everyone's tastes. There are always vegetarian and vegan alternatives 😊

Viel zu kleine Portionen. Zu selten vegetarische Gerichte, die mehr drin haben als Kartoffeln. 7€ für Kartoffeln mit Rührei und Kräutermayo als "teures" Gericht ist schon dreist.

Manchmal echt gute Gerichte, häufiger aber auch komische/schlechte Kombis. Burgerpattys werden häufig als Burgerpattys beschrieben und man ist enttäuscht wenn es nur pattys sind. Meist sehr gutes Preis/Leistung Verhältnis

gesund, lecker und bezahlbar, mehr geht nicht.

Basically you don't find better university Mensa in Germany than this one.

Kleine Portionen…sonntags gibts oft kein Essen wenn man in der bib ist und lernt. Sonst lecker, sieht schön aus 👍

Immer wieder erfreulich was der Sternekoch für wissensbegierige Student*innen zaubert. Edit: Seit geraumer Zeit sind die Portionen deutlich kleiner geworden, sodass man als normaler Mensch nicht wirklich satt wird. Auf Nachfrage nach größerer Portionen wird gesagt, dass dies laut Chef nicht möglich sei. Ich verstehe dass durch gesteigerte Lebensmittelkosten irgendwo Abzüge gemacht werden müssen, aber dann lieber den Preis anheben statt Mini-Portionen zu verteilen. Schade, da dass Essen immer noch sehr gut ist, deshalb nur 3 satt 5 Sterne.

Soooo verdammt günstig (als Student). Teilweise Mahlzeiten ab 2.23€

Für so viele Mitarbeiter:innen und Studierende jeden Tag so ein abwechslungsreiches Essensangebot hinzukriegen, ist in meinen Augen echt eine Leistung, Chapeau!

Meistens sehr preiswert, und lecker mit Abwechslung

Leider beginnt das Besucheressen immer recht spät, dafür aber nicht so laut und hektisch.

Immer viele - auch neue,kreative - Speisen zur Auswahl. Das Personal ist freundlich und fleißig. Als Student bekommt man hier alles zum fairen Preis.

Leckere Pizzas gibt es dort, nur dauert es etwas länger

Freundlich. Wenn nicht gerade Massen von Studenten dort sind, sehr schnelle Bedienung. Freundliches Personal und ab und an echt exzellente Küche aber def immer gut und das preis-leistungs-verhältniss stimmt auch.

Gutes Mittagessen, für Gäste im 4. Stock von 11:30 bis 16:00 sehr gute Pizza

Teuer für eine Mitarbeiter-Mensa. Sehr sauber. Schöner Ausblick.
