First of all: a really wonderful place. Then: a meal that was simply fantastic. A true Arabian heaven of enjoyment. We had mezze with and without meat. Both wonderful. Drinks: definitely try the Arabic teas. And the must-have is the mocha, made with rose water. Finally: the service. One of the best Arabic restaurants I know. The price-performance ratio is great, the portions are large, the meat is of very good quality and the dishes are authentic. The mixed starters (10, 20 or 30 bowls) are fun and highly recommended. There are also Arabic drinks on the menu, which are very tasty. A highly recommended restaurant.

Unfortunately, the wedding party was too much for the store, even though it was still in full operation. He wanted to bring out all the food at the same time, so we had to wait over 2 hours and were shocked at how small the portions were - 21 euros for a steak platter with a jacket potato, some rice and three tiny pieces of meat, even with chicken, which is cheap and not worth it. n steak plate belongs. I had CATERING from Malek and his crew at the weekend. My 60 guests were all thrilled. Original sound: "I've never experienced a buffet where every dish tasted excellent." or “this is so much better than the food we ate in Jordan the other day.” And I have to say that Malek was extremely pleasant, helpful and flexible in his advice and everything worked extremely reliably. And for fair prices. I can only recommend it 200%. 😀 Thanks to you, Malek, your brother and the whole team!!!

Disappointing experience Unfortunately our visit to this restaurant was very disappointing. The food was not tasty at all, the rice was overcooked and we could hardly enjoy it. It is also very inconvenient that you can only pay in cash. Nowadays I expect at least the option to pay by card. We were greeted unfriendly right at the entrance and told that we couldn't just order starters, but that everyone also had to order a main course. Sharing a main course wouldn't work either. Since it would have been too much for us with starters and we also found the way this “announcement” (without us even mentioning that we wanted to order the starter plate beforehand) to be rude, unprofessional and unsympathetic, we left.

Wir wurden direkt am Eingang unfreundlich empfangen und darauf hingewiesen, dass wir nicht nur Vorspeisen bestellen dürften, sondern zusätzlich jeder auch noch ein Hauptgericht bestellen müsse. Sich ein Hauptgericht zu teilen, ginge zudem nicht. Da es uns mit Vorspeisen zu viel gewesen wäre und wir außerdem die Art und Weise dieser „Ansage“ (ohne das wir vorher überhaupt erwähnten, den Vorspeisenteller bestellen zu wollen) unverschämt, unprofessionell und unsympathisch fanden, sind wir gegangen.

Unfortunately, as soon as we entered, we were informed that we couldn't just order the appetizer plates, that we would each also have to order a main course. Since we weren't even sitting but standing in the doorway, these harsh instructions were of course a bit surprising at first. I've been to the other Karawane restaurant many times - the starters are clearly the highlight here. Since the two of us usually share the starter plate and a main course because the portions are very filling, this announcement was unfortunately the reason why we couldn't even sit down. When I asked if we could share an additional main course, the man emphasized again that we either had to order one each or we couldn't eat here. (It should also be mentioned here that we never mentioned that we planned to only order the starters, but that should also be possible in a restaurant. If the dish is not worthwhile, they are not allowed to offer it) The principle of telling guests what they have to order right at the entrance is definitely not well received, and unfortunately we had to leave.

Well-attended restaurant with cuisine from the Middle East and North Africa. Busy. But fortunately good acoustics. Delicious appetizers and lamb with chestnuts, walnuts and pomegranate sauce as a main course. Wow, how delicious! Very reasonable prices.

We've been enjoying going there for years. Price/performance is just right. Very nice service and the food tastes simply delicious. Reservation required as the store is not particularly large and is always busy. That speaks for itself. Looking forward to the next time.

We were there as a larger group of 12 people. The service was excellent, quick, attentive and courteous. The food was absolutely delicious and recommended. It goes without saying that you can't just order appetizers - especially if you're a larger group. We would love to come back. The only wish for improvement would be card payment :)

You don't have a choice of seats when you enter the house, even though the restaurant was still relatively empty at 5:30 p.m. You were seated and were kindly informed that you were not only allowed to order a starter plate, but also had to choose main courses. At the next table, the guests were also "ordered" to order accordingly - that concept doesn't work at all! We decided on a different caravan where we decide for ourselves what and how much we want to eat! Tip, put a note right outside the door stating that you have a minimum consumption of €25 per person...

We can only agree with the similar previous reviews. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were informed - not particularly friendly - that we would not be allowed to stay if we only ordered the starter plates; ordering the main courses was mandatory. We had researched the menu in advance during the day and had originally planned to order two main courses, but we disliked this patronizing manner so much that we left the restaurant. We want to decide for ourselves what we want to eat. - We prefer to eat in the caravan next, where you are always treated very friendly, no matter what you eat or drink.

We had reserved a table for three people, one of them fell ill. When I arrived, my friend was already there and had informed the manager of the house about it. The food in this restaurant is good. Unfortunately you can't order what you want to eat, e.g. only appetizers. The manager of the house informed us about it in a very unfriendly tone. When he realized after a quarter of an hour that there were only two of us, he sat us down at a smaller table. We had to carry our things, drinks and cutlery over ourselves. The implementation was not necessary at all as there was still enough space in the restaurant. When the starters were brought, we had problems fitting them on the small table. We hadn't finished the starters yet when the main course was brought and the second plate was forgotten. When I asked the boss for this, he informed me that you shouldn't share a main course. That evening, the young waiter in the restaurant was the only one who was courteous, friendly and polite.

A little tip makes the starter plates fuller and more expensive, which I think is completely correct. But never tempt guests!!!! Because we (5 people) were only told after we had already received our drinks and wanted to order 40 plates that we all had to order a main course immediately. Just a starter plate that wouldn't work anymore and later a main course that wouldn't work either. And anyway, we have to be gone again in 2 hours because then the next guests would come. And all the guests would know that and this little plate would be bad for business. In addition, the tone and way in which we were addressed was absolutely outrageous. The last time I was there was 6 months ago and back then we could “only” eat appetizer plates and a main course to share. If I had been told about the new rules when I reserved a table, I would have saved myself this hassle on my birthday and we would have thought about whether we wanted to eat there under these conditions. When we finally left after 30 minutes, new guests were already waiting for our table. Well, maybe you shouldn't give away tables on Valentine's Day that you don't have and scare away good guests. I have always been welcomed there with warmth and cordiality and it makes me sad that I have to look for a new oriental restaurant after almost 30 years. In the end we ended up at the Indian restaurant 100m up the road and spent a wonderful evening there with great food, a super nice waiter and even half the price as it would have been in the caravan. Reservation on the phone was good, there was also a note about cash payment, so no card payment possible. Parking is difficult because it is in a residential area. Unfortunately, when we entered and exited, the lady at the bar didn't return our greeting/farewell. The Christmas paper tablecloths were still on the tables in February. Considering that the dishes aren't cheap, it seems pretty cheap. When ordering, I mispronounced a dish and was rudely corrected by the waiter. Imagine the opposite case! The 10 plates of starters were tasty and my husband's main course was ok. Unfortunately, my meal was the opposite. I ordered a stuffed eggplant. I got a casserole dish filled with minced meat sauce, a few pieces of potato and four pieces of eggplant. Unfortunately, the whole thing was still cold, even though we waited about 30 minutes including the main course and there was hardly any activity in the restaurant. I then waited another 20 minutes and unfortunately I was disappointed again. This time the dish was hot on the edge and lukewarm on the inside, not to mention a whole eggplant. The rice in both dishes tasted musty. Maybe a storage error?! The whole thing was a huge disappointment. Neither the price/performance ratio nor the quality is right here. We won't be coming back! Don't let the photo fool you. All of this fit on a normal dinner plate. The minced meat sauce is in the baking dish.

We were guests with four couples and we were all very happy with the food on offer. Unfortunately we sat near the front door and that wasn't pleasant given the sub-zero temperatures.

We were in the caravan for a family reunion. 12 people were registered. In this case, fortunately someone had canceled at short notice, because even with only 11 people, our seats were very small, which was quite uncomfortable while eating. There wasn't anyone there who might need space for two. I find it inappropriate in this day and age that you can only pay in cash. Nobody should be traveling with a lot of cash these days. The food was consistently good and tasty. The menu should be revised as not all of the dishes listed are offered anymore. The menu says that the mezze cannot be shared between two people. The fact that it's on the menu is one thing. The fact that it is checked by the staff is another matter and is not possible at all. My wife offered to taste it to the person sitting next to her and was immediately warned that it wasn't allowed to share. Absolutely no go. Unfortunately, I didn't notice, but I would certainly have reacted appropriately immediately. They are probably very sales-oriented and less concerned with the well-being of the guest. And with 11 people, we certainly left a lot of cash there. How you deal with these things is of course up to each individual. The dining room was at least fully occupied, which certainly speaks for the business. In any case, my wife and I will not be coming back and unfortunately cannot recommend the caravan.

Ultraleckeres Essen und sehr freundliches Personal. Sehr gut besucht an den Wochenenden, eine Reservierung macht da Sinn :)

Authentisches und schönes Ambiente, netter Service, leckere und ausreichend große Speisen.

Zwei Paare, ein Kind (18 Monate). Wir bekommen einen Tisch mit Bank zugewiesen. Den Kinderwagen dürfen wir nicht mit zum Tisch nehmen. Dann müssten wir im Bereich der Tür sitzen. Einen Hochstuhl gibt es nicht. Das Kind kann auf der Bank nicht sitzen und ist auf dem Arm der Erwachsenen zu unruhig. Wir fragen nach einem Tisch im Eingangsbereich. Doch auch dort dürfen wir jetzt den Kinderwagen nicht an den Tisch stellen. Der Wirt ist ausgesprochen respektlos, unfreundlich, macht keinerlei Angebot, wie wir den Abend verbringen könnten. Wir - die Gäste - waren freundlich, verständnisvoll, der Wirt kompromisslos. Diese Unfreundlichkeit hat mir einen Stich versetzt. Es war nicht das erste Mal, dass ich von seinem Verhalten gegenüber Gästen irritiert war. Schade, das war der letzte Besuch bei der Karawane gewesen. Schon bei der telefonischen Reservierung waren wir darauf hingewiesen worden, dass man nicht nur Vorspeisen bestellen dürfe. Und es gäbe keinen Kinderstuhl. Wir hatten daher angeboten, einen Kinderwagen mitzubringen... Wir sind dann gegangen und haben beste Erfahrungen in einem veganen Restaurant am Hirschlandplatz gemacht: freundliche, zuvorkommender Empfang; Kinderspielsachen, und der Kleine durfte sich im Raum bewegen. Es geht auch lecker UND familienfreundlich!

Das Essen in der Karawane ist einfach nur super lecker. Der Service ist sehr höflich und herzlich. Die Portionen sind groß. Wenn etwas übrig bleibt wird es eingepackt und mitgegeben. Das Catering der Karawane kann ich wirklich nur weiterempfehlen. Ich habe mich nur zwei Wochen vor unserer Silvesterparty für das Catering entschieden. Mir wurde während der Planung ein sehr gutes und vertrauenswürdiges Gefühl gegeben. Das Catering hat meine Erwartungen übertroffen! Ich bin der Karawane sehr dankbar, dass sie das so schnell und total unkompliziert möglich gemacht hat. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis hat mehr als gestimmt und alle waren sehr zufrieden. Immer wieder gerne ☺️

Wir liebe es dort essen zu gehen! Das Essen ist super lecker, der Service immer freundlich und das Ambiente und die Atmosphäre schön orientalisch und die Preise sind auch total im Rahmen. Eine ganz klare Empfehlung!

Wir sind wie immer sehr zufrieden mit dem tollen Essen. Besonders die leckeren Vorspeisenteller sind sehr zu empfehlen. Der Service isr sehr aufmerksam, sehr nett und auch sehr gastfreundlich. Wir nehmen gern regelmäßig, bis zu einer Std Fahrzeit von Hünxe/Dinslaken auf uns, um die Karawane zu besuchen. Sehr empfehlenswert

Sehr vielfältige Speisenauswahl. Essen bisher TOP, bei mehreren Besuchen. Auch in größeren Gruppen kein Problem. Freundlicher Service, wenn es voll ist, dauert es nun einmal etwas länger.Bitte etwas Geduld und Zeit mitbringen. Gebäude wirkt von aussen etwas heruntergekommen, doch von Innen sehr gemütlich. Personal zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit.

Sehr leckere Küche, das gesamte Essen von Vorspeise über Hauptspeise bis hin zum Nachtisch war sehr sehr lecker, der Service war absolut in Ordnung! Wir kommen definitiv wieder =) Einzig bei den 30 Vorspeisenteller könnte man eventuell mal ein Zettel bei der Karte beilegen was das alles so ist (ja es wird auf Nachfrage erklärt, bloss ich denke mir man könnte es auch vorher beschreiben das man ggf. bestimmte Teller vll auch vorher ändern könnte). Deshalb würde ich aber kein Stern weniger vergeben.

Wir waren nach einem Besuch vom GOP Varieté in der Karawane in Essen und haben dort super lecker gegessen! Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist außergewöhnlich. Wir hätten für diesen Hochgenuss auf jeden Fall auch mehr bezahlt.

Allereerst: het eten was echt werkelijk waar super goed! We hebben met zijn vieren echt genoten van de flatbread met dips, wat echt gezellig was om te delen, er stonden 20 kleine bordjes met allerlei verschillende dips op tafel! We hadden allemaal als hoofdgerecht een van de menu's met losse schaaltjes, ik weet niet meer goed hoe die heetten, maar deze waren ook ontzettend goed! Lekker gekruid, niet te vet, veel groenten en lekker vlees. Het gedeelte van het restaurant waar we zaten was wel een relatief kleine ruimte, met ontzettend veel mensen efficiënt erin gepropt. Dit zorgde voor veel drukte qua geluid, maar door de tapijten aan de muren en plafond werd het wel wat gedempt, zeker toen een van de grotere gezelschappen weg waren, was het beter uit te houden. Het enige nadeel was wel dat het opnemen van de drankjes en bestelling best lang op zich liet wachten, net als het eten zelf. Gelukkig waren we met een leuk gezelschap en wat het eten het wachten zeker waard!

Ich war früher schon öfters hier und es war immer absolut lecker! Wir waren gestern mit 16 Personen vor Ort und jeden einzelnen hat es geschmeckt und super gefallen. Das Personal ist freundlich wie nirgends und hat fühlt sich überaus wohl. Immer wieder gerne!

Leckere marokkanische Küche. Große Vorspeisen Auswahl und leckere Grill Gerichte. Variationen an Orientalischen Tees und vorzügliche Desserts. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Wir sind seit Jahren hier gerne Gäste. Das Essen schmeckt hervorragend, der Service ist sehr zuvorkommend und das Ambiente gefällt uns gut. Besonders gut gefällt mir die Auswahl an vegetarischen Gerichten.

Spontan dienstgas dort essen gegangen und einen Tisch bekommen. Toller Service, wie bei Freunden, das Essen kam schnell und war super. Wenn ihr hier essen geht nehm auf jedenfall die Vorspeisen, einer der Eistees passt super dazu. Zudem sind sie eine leckere alkoholfreie Alternative zu Apfelschorle, Cola und Co. 🤗

Waren heute Abend mal wieder in der Karawane essen und wie immer rundum zufrieden. Wir haben letztens bei der Familie meines Mannes sehr davon geschwärmt, sodass diese heute extra aus dem Sauerland angerückt sind um mit uns zu schlemmen. Sie waren super begeistert und möchten auch in jedem Fall nochmal wiederkommen. Da wir bisher wirklich immer super zuvorkommend bedient wurden und das Essen immer durchweg lecker war, gibt es heute die fünf Sterne, bevor ich es wieder vergesse! Wir haben sehr lecker gegessen. Ich hatte die Chance bei meinen Bekannten auch mal probieren zu dürfen - es war einfach alles lecker! Dazu war es sehr gemütlich. Ein toller Abend.

Sehr sehr lecker, wie eine Geschmacksexplosion. Dazu sehr netter Kellner. Wir waren vorher in Dinslaken Stammgast, da es dort leider geschlossen hat werden wir es nun hier sein.

Sehr gute Vorspeisenteller und vegetarische Gerichte.

Totale Enttäuschung - ich kenne das Lokal von den Anfängen her, war früher gerne dort. Anscheinend sind die guten Zeiten vorbei - beim Betreten beissender Geruch von Grill und Fett, im Verlauf des Abends haben die Gäste selber die Fenster aufgerissen. Der Gewürztee hat nur scharf nach Zimt geschmeckt, Ayran total übersalzen. Das Essen hat Kantinenqualität. Keine Empfehlung (mehr). Schade für das Geld.

Waren da mit mehreren Personen. Wir fanden es so geht so. Wahnsinnig laut, Unterhaltung nur durch Anschreien möglich. Von 4 Personen waren die Hauptspeisen nicht lecker. Das Fleisch der Grillplatte war leider wie eine Schuhsole…Ging größtenteils ungegessen zurück. Die Gambas waren auch komisch. Vorspeisenauswahl mit verschiedenen Dipps war lecker. Service war freundlich! Zusammenfassung: wir würden da nicht noch mal hingehen…

Für Menschen mit Zöliakie nicht zu empfehlen. In der Karte werden zwar einige Allergene ausgewiesen, diese Beschreibung entspricht aber nicht der Wahrheit. Ich bestellte also ein als glutenfreies gekennzeichnetes Gericht. Als dieses dann nach längere Wartezeit endlich serviert wurde, bemerkte ich auf Anhieb seltsame "Brösel" auf meinem Essen. Sodann fragte ich den Kellner, ob das Essen wirklich glutenfrei sei, da ich kein Gluten vertrage. Der Kellner gab sodann an, den Koch zu fragen und kehrte kurz darauf mit der Info zurück, dass es sich bei den „Bröseln“ angeblich um geriebenes Gemüse handeln sollte und ich mir keine Sorgen zu machen brauche. Nachdem mir also versichert wurde, dass das Essen wirklich glutenfrei sei, begann ich zu essen. Einige Minuten nachdem ich zu essen begonnen hatte, kam dann aber einer anderer Kellner (Inhaber?) und erzählte mir, dass das Essen nicht glutenfrei sei. Ich gab an, dass das Gericht auf der Karte als glutenfrei ausgeschrieben sei und der Koch auf Rückfrage ebenfalls angegeben habe, dass es glutenfrei sei. Daraufhin begab sich der Kellner (Inhaber?) erneut in die Küche. Es dauerte weitere 5 Minuten, bis der erste Kellner mit der Karte zum Tisch zurückkehrte und mir mitteilte, dass das Essen doch nicht glutenfrei sei und ein Fehler in der Karte vorliegen muss. Auch gab er an, dass der Koch ein wenig „komisch“ sei, was für mich als Entschuldigung leider nicht ausreichte. Am liebsten würde ich in solchen Momenten keinen Stern vergeben, denn wenn man schon extra fragen lässt, ob etwas glutenfrei ist, dann muss man sich in einem Restaurant auf die Aussagen verlassen können. Für mich ein absolutes und unentschuldbares NO-GO. Außerdem möchte ich anmerken, dass die Wartezeit beim Service extrem lang ist.

Sehr sehr lecker 😋 waren zum 2. Mal jetzt hier und von der Bedienung bis zum Essen alles wunderbar. Gastfreundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal. Gerne wieder.

Wir wollten zunächst zu viert 30 Vorspeisen Teller nehmen. Wir wurden freundlich darauf hingewiesen, dass das etwas viel sei, haben dann die Anzahl auf 20 reduziert, diese in vegetarisch. Getränke und Speisen kamen schnell. Hauptgericht, Seder Djadj Mahschi (Nummer 14), Käsepanierte Hähnchenbrust mit Beilagen 10/10, bisher nie so ein leckeres Hähnchen gegessen. Danach waren alle schon gut gesättigt. Überraschend gab es kostenfrei noch einen Nachtisch. Alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen.

Alles war super! Das Essen super lecker, die Kellner total nett. Als sie gemerkt haben, dass wir Geburtstag feiern, gab es noch Desserts aufs Haus! Danke!

Ein Geheimtipp in essen, empfehle von den Vorspeisen hin bis zum Dessert alles mal auszuprobieren! Jedes einzelne Gericht ist mit so abgestimmten Gewürzen und Liebe zum Detail serviert - vielen Dank für das tolle Essen!
