Wonderful dinner with a great starter and superbly prepared lamb. Restaurant is highly recommended. The service is very attentive.

The restaurant is very crowded with seating, the cash register where you pay is right in front of the tables in the aisle, which I found very restless and uncomfortable. The aisle is also narrow and since the kitchen is located there, you can't sit there quietly because the waiters are constantly running past there with food from the kitchen. It's just a little quieter in the back of the restaurant. The food was ok so far, but the term Mediterranean is a way of describing it as pork-free. There is lamb, fish, seafood, veal and a few simple poultry dishes. The offer is correspondingly high-priced. Given the expensive ingredients, this is certainly appropriate, but not when it comes to simply grilled poultry with even simpler ingredients such as rice and a side salad. The portion sizes are sufficient and the lamb dishes in particular are beautifully presented. Also very surprising is the practice of offering the starters as a group offer in a kind of meze sequence for larger groups and passing the amount on to the group participants and having them pay in cash at the table and the main course separately at the checkout. Stupid if you don't have that much cash with you and it wasn't communicated beforehand. Especially since the appetizer sequence was well paid for with the amount claimed. Certainly also a communication deficit; this should have been asked beforehand or addressed by the operator. The service was normal, the restaurant was also busy and there were fewer service staff present. Perhaps you should also prepare for a larger number of guests in terms of staff if you create the capacity for it. There was no guest bonus in the form of a drink or expresso. The entire assessment of the restaurant is difficult, so my personal overall impression for this first and last visit: I missed the beautiful ambience and mood. When I go out for an expensive meal I want a bit of atmosphere. Everything was too narrow and crowded for me, too loud and too hectic. The menu offers Turkish cuisine, the variety of Mediterranean cuisine is not shown here. Vegetarians and guests who don't appreciate a lot of meat or the special types of meat on offer won't really be happy here. For the others, the offer is certainly, as far as I can tell, very appealing and priced towards the higher end.

Christmas party with our practice from Hagen. We were very satisfied. A "HIGH" to the service, so nice and attentive...great...we felt very comfortable. THANK YOU for this nice evening!!! We'll be back!

Unfortunately this will be my last visit. The portions are small and outrageously expensive. Price-performance is not right at all. Despite a plate of meat, I was still hungry and had to fill myself up with bread. You could count the potatoes... You really can't win customers that way! What a shame!

Karas offers a small selection of grilled fish. Whole grilled sea bream or sea bass with potatoes for around 25 euros. At the table, the service explains to the guests that it is far too difficult to eat the fish because the large number of bones would be a nuisance. The chef fillets the fish for you and you receive a vegetable side dish. What you are actually served are 2 frozen fillets, which the chef professionally fillets out of the packaging... Purchase price for the restaurant approx. 5.5 - 6.5 euros for 2 fillets. Plus 2 tablespoons of vegetables & 1 fried potato. Goods value approx. 8 euros. Retail price approx. 25 euros. The food tastes good, but has an aftertaste...

Super delicious food! We had a company Christmas dinner on site. The bosses are great, great, great and very hospitable. The waiters are generally very nice, except for one! Unfortunately. The older waitress. I have never seen anything so unfriendly in my life! Throws the salad at you, puts dirty dishes and cutlery on top of things that should be packed, etc. The absolute WORST AND MOST INAPPROPRIATE thing is: She takes the money out of your hand when paying and says: “I ended up serving her!” I'm speechless!!!! After being told that it's not appropriate and that something like that isn't appropriate and that we ultimately want to pay for it ourselves, she says: "I don't know how you work in a social profession." How presumptuous can a person be? So this woman has to leave there urgently, otherwise the top bosses will lose many more customers. With the best will in the world, we can't explain how this woman made it into this otherwise super pleasant team anyway. The rest of the team would have deserved a full score but due to this extremely unpleasant experience we unfortunately only give it 2/5.

We were there as a group and were served very well and friendly

We have registered a group of 13 people. The table was set for 11 people, the service was unable to add another table, so we had to sit very cramped. The plates were placed in such a way that they do not stand as normal but upright. I find that impossible, and our criticism was not addressed. Really a shame. I only give 3 stars for the ambience because the service staff is always ready and clearing up, it gives off the feeling of "hurry up", which isn't nice. Next time we will use a different restaurant.

Als je van Grieks en Turks eten houdt, ben je hier op het juiste adres. De sardientjes vooraf erg lekker. De lams filet van de grill, heerlijk van smaak en super mals evenals de grill schotel. Alles heerlijk gekruid. Een goede Turkse rode wijn erbij gedronken bam Kavaklidere prestige kalecik. Uitermate vriendelijk personeel.

Super delicious Greek Turkish Mediterranean cuisine. Portions may not be suitable for gluttony, but they will definitely fill you up. The service was also super friendly and attentive. It was my first visit here and it made me want more. I'll definitely come back and bring my family with me to try out the menu further.

I recently visited KARA's and just loved it! The restaurant offers a beautiful atmosphere that immediately invites you to have a relaxed meal. The menu is varied and the Mediterranean specialties are a real delight. I tried the meze platter, which was not only delicious but also came beautifully presented. The fresh ingredients and authentic flavors really impressed me. The service was first class - friendly and attentive without being intrusive. It was pleasant to dine in such a welcoming environment. I highly recommend KARA's! A perfect place for anyone who loves Mediterranean cuisine. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

No problem coming here, unfriendly employees, no respect for customers and no behavior. Very retarded should learn a few things and know how to deal with customers. NEVER AGAIN! NOOOOOO!

Overall, we are very satisfied with the Karas restaurant. The food tastes good and we like going there. However, there is still room for improvement in the service area. In our opinion, the waiters area in particular still needs some work. The friendliness and attention could be improved to round out the whole experience. Despite these minor weaknesses, Karas remains a good choice for us when it comes to good, tasty food

Wonderful food and a varied menu invite you to feast and enjoy. A very good selection of exceptional wines and spirits. The selection of starters alone leaves no wish unfulfilled. The service is very attentive and super friendly. The outdoor area is very cozy and the subtle music immediately takes you back to your last vacation. Only in the restaurant could a bit of fresh air improve the ambience. A restaurant that you can recommend without hesitation.

Turkish AND Greek food is rarely found in one place. Both are delicious. Lots of regular customers. You should definitely reserve in advance.

When you sit outside on the terrace, you feel like you're on vacation. The starter platter for 2 is fantastic. We are also happy to have the fish platter or the salad with salmon. We also really like all the vegetable dishes. Then add a little raki and maybe a dessert to share…. It's always lovely evenings at Kara's! Recommended!

A friend who lives in the area and knows every place well invited me. The location is very good. We were very pleased with the appetizers, the service and the attention. We wanted sea bass as the main course, the portions were very filling. Even though I don't expect too much dessert in places like this, the cheesecake that came was very good. We came to the Dortmund stadium for the match, you can stop by here before the match and go to the stadium on foot. It is among the best Turkish restaurants I have experienced in Germany.

Frankly, I think Turkish cuisine is not well represented in Germany. But this place changed my whole mind. Everything was perfect, from the appetizer to the salad, from the bread to the main course.

We had a wonderful evening with friends at Kara's Restaurant. The food was excellent. We started with some appetizers and warm, crusty bread. Then, we enjoyed a fish plate, which was very delicious. For dessert, we had the San Sebastián cheesecake, the best cheesecake I have ever had. It came with a strawberry sauce on the side. The service was also excellent. The ambiance was very lovely.

Ich war heute im Karas in Dortmund und bin voll zufrieden! Speisen waren frisch zubereitet und genau auf dem Punkt gegrillt. Frischer Salat und geschmortes Gemüse. Ich glaube viel besser geht nicht. Und ein gezapftes Hövels passt zu Dortmund und rundet den Besuch ab!!!!

Wir waren spontan auf der Suche nach einem Restaurant und haben glücklicherweise uns wir das „Beste“ entschieden! Toller Service, sehr zuvorkommend und auch für den vierbeinigen Freund! Essen sehr lecker und tolle familiäre Atmosphäre!

Really great atmosphere, great service and great food selection. I tried cold&hot starters, salat,fish and baklava, every bite was just delicious. You can also taste national drink of Türkiye which is “raki” there.

Unfortunately, Kara's did not meet our expectations of a fine restaurant. The location was loud and the staff was a bit overwhelmed. But we were kindly given another place. Unfortunately, the taste of the food didn't appeal to us. In addition, the starter didn't come at the same time. There were 3 soups to choose from on the menu. However, there was only lentil soup. The other soups simply weren't available. The bread was toasted. It makes you wonder if it wasn't fresh and that's why it was toasted. In addition, we weren't even asked a second time if we wanted something to drink. We were there to break the fast. The staff was informed about this but there wasn't even a date or water on the house. There was tea on the house after dinner.

Unfortunately I don't live in Dortmund, very nice restaurant. Good food, good service, what more could you want.

We went to Kara's for the first time yesterday and will definitely be back! The atmosphere is chic and cozy, the service is super attentive and friendly. Here you are not just a customer but a valued guest with whom you can have a nice conversation and not just take the order. You won't find such hospitality anywhere else. Finally, the most important thing, the food. The portions are large, made with love, the lamb is a poem! Homemade dessert and fair prices rounded off the lovely evening perfectly. Thank you!

Kara's Restaurant on Kleine Beurhausstrasse is a nice place for casual dining. Dining area is decorated in a modern-elegant way. Kitchen offers a variety of mediterranean and turkish cuisine. Meats are of superior quality and cooked to the point. Vegetables are fresh and really well sautéed. Potato wedges are crisp and well flavoured. Fish platter is delicious. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Prices are fair for the quality and service you get in return. Good place to enjoy an evening out.

It's been a while, but I still want to share my positive experience! We had a mixed starter plate and the fish platter for 2. Everything was super tasty! Atmosphere and staff were great too. It is particularly worth mentioning that my cell phone must have fallen out of my pocket, which unfortunately I only noticed in the stadium, where we had no reception to call the restaurant. When we drove by again after the game, they handed it to me. Thank you very much again!

Wir sind das erste Mal in Dortmund und sind in diesem Restaurant gelandet. Das Team ist sehr nett und das Essen hat uns geschmeckt. Ein gemütliches Restaurant mit tollem Ambiente. Es ist relativ laut dort,wenn sich an allen Tischen unterhalten wird,aber dafür geht man ja irgendwohin,um gut zu essen und um sich zu unterhalten.

Es ist immer wieder ein tolles Erlebnis. Essen ist Top. Service ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Preis Leistung ist mehr als in Ordnung. Wir fahren jedes Mal aus Lüdenscheid dahin. Ich persönlich finde das es einer der wenigen Restaurants in der Umgebung ist wo man beim Essen das Gefühl hat in der Türkei zu sein. Die Vorspeisen egal ob warm oder kalt sind ein muss.

Trotz der Lage, in der sich das Restaurant befindet, ist die Location wunderbar. Das Restaurant ist sehr sauber und einladend gestaltet. Es verfügt auch über einen schönen Außenbereich, der bei warmem Wetter genutzt werden kann. Das Essen dort schmeckt frisch, von höchster Qualität und einfach traumhaft. Der Service ist vorbildlich und das Personal super nett. Man muss nicht lange auf neue Getränke warten. Die Preise sind für die gebotene Qualität spitze. Ich gehe dort gerne mit meiner Liebsten oder Freunden immer wieder hin, da die Atmosphäre einfach exzellent ist. Ich kann das Restaurant persönlich nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

Wir waren alle zufrieden mit dem Essen und der Qualität. Der Service war hervorragend. Es war ein bisschen laut aber das ist kaum zu vermeiden. Gerne wieder!

Ich bin begeistert … Preis- Leistung TOP SURF N TURF GUTE Qualität , das Rumpsteak war zwar nicht genau aufm Punkt ( Medium Rare ) aber das ist meckern auf hohen Niveau , da das Fleisch sehr lecker ist . Die Riesengarnelen anstandslos . Kalbspieße klasse . Vom Haus gab es ( kostenlos ) warmes Brot , hochwertige Oliven und einen kleinen Salat . Das Personal aufmerksam , freundlich . Ambiente: gemütlich , draußen sitzt man gut , zumindest Sonntags . Die Toiletten super sauber und groß Geht hin und überzeugt euch selbst . Ich werde wiederkommen 😊
