First time trying kumpir, as a British who loves jacket potatoes, this was absolutely delicious!!

Delicious Turkish food! This small restaurant/imbiss has just a few indoor seats but plenty of charm. They specialize in baked potatoes with a wide variety of toppings. The potatoes were perfectly cooked - soft and creamy, almost like mashed potatoes - and the toppings (aubergine cream, tzatziki, couscous, lentils, and more) were all fresh, flavorful, and beautifully seasoned. The service was very friendly and welcoming, and the prices offer great value for money given the quality ingredients and generous portions. A true hidden gem - highly recommend if you’re craving something tasty, hearty, and authentic!

Really good! I’ve been here with my colleagues for lunch. The potato was simply awesome, well prepared and so tasty. I had the vegetarian one. Service was good as well. I will come back!

Came here for lunch and had the tuna kumpir for 11.90€ which feels maybe a lil high for what it is - a large potato topped with some tuna, creams and salads. Taste is p nice though and it's definitely filling. Overall good but not out of the world.

This isn’t your usual kumpir, it’s served like a bowl, and it’s incredible. You definitely have to try it. The portion is very filling and tasty!

Anyone who wants to enjoy good Turkish food must try a so-called kumpir here. This dish, which has a potato base and is topped with a variety of toppings (creams, salads, etc.), which vary in detail depending on which version you order, showcases Turkish cuisine at its best. The various components of the dish cumulatively create a veritable explosion of flavor in the mouth, something you never knew was possible. Furthermore, the ingredients and the dish as a whole seem very fresh, which is also highly commendable. The service is friendly. The waiting time is more than reasonable, even at peak times. If you eat a kebab, you might swim on the surface and perhaps see a few corals of Mediterranean cuisine poking out of the water. But if you want to dive underwater into the depths of Turkish cuisine and explore its full potential, you won't be able to avoid trying a kumpir, as offered at Kara Kazan. The only weak point: the price. The €14.90 price tag for the beef version seems a bit steep to me, even though the dish is filling. The standard vegetarian Kumpir, on the other hand, costs €10.90. I'll still be back.

They serve delicious potatoes with toppings (nothing else). The staff is sometimes quite slow, and seating is limited.

Overall, it's great, with really top-notch service and generous portion sizes. Unfortunately, the taste didn't quite convince me enough to give it a 5⭐️.

The restaurant is close to the university and has a few benches outside where you can eat when the weather is nice. The atmosphere is very relaxed and pleasant. The staff was very friendly and accommodated my special requests without hesitation. I had the vegan kumpir and it was delicious. The portion was large and came with various salads and hummus, especially the lentil salad. Whether you're looking for something delicious and healthy, this is a great option for takeout or dining in. Highly recommended!

After a long day at work, this was the best takeaway dinner I've ever had. So many flavors and everything so fresh. Definitely recommended. PS: I only gave the ambiance 4 stars because I didn't eat there.

Was there with a friend during lunch time on a work day. Had no expectations on Kumpir because I never tried it before. The Kumpir was super tasty. Service was very quick and nice. I would definitely recommend it as lunch option for a relaxed chat with a close colleague or friend. Would go there again. Nevertheless, not the best option for a nice dinner with partner or a high quality business lunch.

I've been a fan of Karakazan Kumpir for a long time, excellent delicatessen, delicious meat, you can taste the quality. Very polite employees. There is also a lot of vegetarian options. My favorite meze is the eggplant cream. Very central. Great to reach. Authentically and coolly furnished👍😊

Had a lovely evening here with my habibi, although I got a warp instead of a sandwich, it was still very tasty. Anyone who wants to experience the cuisine of an unknown country has come to the right place

If the kumpir we eat here is the same as the ones we eat in Turkey, it is a really successful place. Kumpirs are great.

You'll get your fill here! They used to be super slow, but now you can get lunch here the fastest in the whole of Maxvorstadt. Vegan or vegetarian is no problem here either.

Unfortunately, no one answers the phone and it's not clear when it's open or not. The last few times it was simply too late despite the supposed opening time. It was supposed to be open today, but no one is answering the phone. At the end you go there and it's closed.

The best kumpir I've ever eaten!!

Yesterday we came by this place during a vine tour and everyone got the veggie potato. It tasted great and there were so many differently kind of flavour. But all super fresh and tasty. I will definitely come back again and can highly recommend the potato.

The Kumpir is very tasty and filling, the price is within the normal range. The Kumpir can be ordered in different versions, such as vegetarian, with tuna or, for example, with sucuk. The staff is very friendly!

I went to Kara Kazan for the first time today and ordered Kumpir Ton Ton. It was very, very delicious and I recommend everyone to visit there!

Turkish street food: Kumpir! I must admit, this was one of the best Kumpir's that I have ever tried in my life (Turkey included). It is a must try place! My suggestion: Kumpir with Kavurma

Surprisingly delicious baked potatoes. Wow! I'm excited. I even really like the quinoa and beetroot here. The eggplant paste and the orange ajvar cream were particularly excellent. Only the couscous could be a little more exciting. The ingredients are fresh and healthy, the staff was friendly. Overall, absolutely recommended as long as you don't have a date afterwards.

Went there with a turkish friend, no words express how good the kumpir is. It is pretty big and heavy, satisfies hunger. A few important notices, the menu is slightly limited to the great kumpir they offer and some two or three other meals. They are vegan and vegetarian friendly. Expect some delays during lunch and dinner times. Seats are limited, not very convenient for large groups. You can call and preorder. They take cash and cards. The personnel is very friendly.

Food is 10 / 10 and a MUST try. Seating area is unfortunately not so nice. They serve Kumpir ( a well known dish in Turkey) which is a big potato filled with different additions as well as a plate with different dippings. Very tasty and worth trying several times.
