Kaiso Restaurant in Leonberg

Kaiso is a lovely, modern restaurant in a tucked-away location. Unfortunately, we couldn't get a table on Friday evening, so we opted for takeout. The service was very attentive, and the wait was okay. The selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes is manageable. The vegetarian summer roll was delicious and very nicely presented in the box. The pho soup was also tasty, but the topping of rice noodles, tofu, and bean sprouts, along with a hint of leeks, was definitely not enough for me. I would have liked more.

We were here for lunch. Fast, friendly service. Very tasty, high-quality food, attractively presented, and reasonably priced. We'll definitely be back.

Great restaurant and nice staff

Simply a great restaurant! The food (no matter what I've had so far) always tastes great! Everything is always fresh and delicious, and you don't have to wait long, either. The service has never been rude or anything like that. Only when it's busy can it get a bit loud and cozy inside. But the food alone is worth every cent! Clearly recommended!

My birthday. Just came in and immediately left this place after a very unfriendly and rude reception. You cannot change guests' seats upon request, simply turn your back and then say that we don't care that you are leaving. I'm actually not going to give a star but it doesn't exist. Now comes a meaningless answer from someone. You see, I don't have to state the reason when making the reservation. Every guest must be treated as royalty. For me and my friend who is a witness, the darkest table was prepared. Everyone on site is completely rude and ignorant. No mouth was opened to say: Wait, we will find a solution. Or as I am not German and been in Many Countries in that World to Tell You that I never but Never got such Treatment. Just Shut up and Fix your Problem there because when I read what some other Clients wrote its just similar. Already i spread the word!

We made a reservation today because of a birthday. We wanted to come at 7 p.m., but we were told that we could only get a table at 6 p.m. All right then. We got there on time and the restaurant was completely empty except for a couple. They wanted to put us in a corner at the far end without daylight. The reception was generally very unfriendly and they didn't seem to be in the mood. We asked if we could please sit by the window, i.e. at one of the 6 or 8 free tables by the window. This was denied on the grounds that it only works with four people. We then said that we would like to leave as this dark corner was very unpleasant. The staff then just said... "if they think so".... so we went to the local Indian restaurant, all-round comfort and service at its best, food fresh and impeccable, and we gave us a tip of almost 30%. (Spontaneously a seat at the window, although well attended and without a reservation) In retrospect, we are grateful for this poor service at Kaiso, otherwise we would never have had the great evening at the Indian restaurant. One star for that. I can't judge what the food is like at Kaiso and I'll never know. Thank God there are plenty of other places that pamper guests and give them a nice break from everyday life.

Food very tasty, great beef. Homemade lemonade and parking garage next door = perfect excursion

The food and the atmosphere can only be recommended. We drove about an hour and don't regret it.

The reception and the accompaniment to the table were very nice, very attentive and nice when ordering drinks, starters and main courses. The food came very quickly and was a pleasure, people kept asking if everything was OK. O. when I asked about food, I received a detailed answer straight away. The food was very tasty, very good service and the price-performance ratio was completely fine.

We were in the restaurant last Saturday at 6 p.m. with 6 people. The service was great. Courteous and always attentive. The food was very tasty. And the two person platter was sufficient and very tasty with sushi and sashimi, the friends were also very happy with their food. We'd love to come back

Very good service, very tasty food and nice atmosphere

I've been there twice now for lunch, and I highly recommend it. The food was beautifully presented, delicious, and arrived super quickly. Be careful, it's hot. Service was friendly, not pushy or irritating if you take a while to choose. Location was authentically Asian, with an outdoor area. Unfortunately, there's no parking, but you can't expect that in the city center. Prices were definitely worth the money for what you get, in my opinion. Unfortunately, the tables are a bit too small for two people; if you have multiple orders, and with the fast service, you can't get your food out quickly enough, and it gets crowded. Simply make a reservation, order, and let us convince you.

The restaurant is a bit out of the way in Leonberg, but we were pleasantly surprised when we visited. It had a very nice, cozy atmosphere. Since we didn't have a reservation and it was very busy, we had to wait a bit. However, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, and made every effort to find us a table. Our food came quickly, and there were plenty of vegan options available without us having to change our order. The vegan sushi menu and the wakame salad were excellent. The soup was fresh, and you could add more seasoning to your own taste. We would definitely come back. Highly recommend it :)

Update March 2025: It was very tasty again. However, the rolling quality of the sushi has declined. The sushi was way too big and therefore not very edible. I therefore have to revise my rating downwards to 4 stars. Unfortunately, there is still no set that is ideal for 2 people. Either it's too small or not varied enough. If there was half a Kaiso set, it would be ideal. 2323: The sushi is delicious and the price is absolutely appropriate. If you like sushi, this is the place to go. Always super friendly.

Nice atmosphere, very nice service. Been there twice so far and everything is OK. The sushi is excellent. The selection is large. Personally, I don't really like the warm sushi topped with "sauce", but you don't have to choose that either. From sushi platters to individual types of sushi, everything is available. Price raised. Quality appropriate. I will go again.

Nothing to complain about in terms of ambience and service, excellent ingredients, the edamame tastes like sweet corn, I haven't had that before either. A bowl of sweets at the table. I had the udon noodles with fish, which was far too lightly seasoned for me, so unfortunately only four stars.

The manager of the restaurant was very rude. I came there to celebrate my birthday. The manager gave us Bad attitude. We even didn’t try the food we had to leave. My birthday was Ruined and I needed to look for another restaurant on Sunday night.

This is my first restaurant review in Germany and unfortunately it is negative. Nice atmosphere and decor and unacceptable behavior from the older staff. My daughter and I were literally insulted at the doorstep when we arrived for dinner. The reason for this was an unexpected guest, my 2-year-old grandson. Our nanny was sick and couldn't take care of him while we ate at the restaurant. The manager was unhappy that the table was reserved for two people and not three. And sat us in the most uncomfortable place. We were denied a high chair to feed the baby. She was rude and very unfriendly. The evening was ruined. I don't recommend this place for those who don't have a reservation at another restaurant.

Small Japanese restaurant in the old town of Leonberg. In the beginning it was very quick to take the order. Service was and accommodating. Had starters of salad, Tayaki and the Kaiso plate which were tasty and okay. Unfortunately two friends reacted to the noodles with beef nr31 fish sauce with (lime, chilly, pineapple). When we asked, we were honestly told that the ingredients were fresh and had been boiled and other guests had no complaints. Overall it was a nice evening and I would love to come again. We recently went to the sushi restaurant Kaiso in Leonberg and had a wonderful experience! Despite no reservation, we were assigned a table at short notice. We tried various dishes including wakame, California rolls, nigiri with lots of fresh salmon and scallops - everything was simply delicious! I would particularly like to highlight the delicious sauces, which rounded off the meal perfectly. The taste was incredibly fresh and the portions were generous. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. We will definitely be back and can only warmly recommend Kaiso to every sushi lover in the Leonberg/Böblingen district!

Beautiful, modern and cozy restaurant with really tasty and fresh sushi. I often have the pho soup here because it is super tasty and the portion is large and filling! The prices are a little higher than in other restaurants, but you can taste the quality. Kaiso is now one of my favorite restaurants because everything is right here.

Everything was simply delicious and beautifully and stylishly prepared. There is something for every taste and preference, including a good selection of vegan dishes. Friendly and competent service. In addition to the excellent food, there are also very good drinks, for example the Kaiso lemonade. We were very satisfied.

The food was very tasty. We had gyoza as a starter, sushi as a main course and baked bananas as dessert. We found everything extremely tasty, in our opinion the portions for the baked banana could be a little larger given the price. We thought the fruit as a topping was great. gladly again

Horrible behavior from the staff. Glasses are snatched out of hands and visitors are sent away immediately after paying. Very unfriendly staff. A large crowd does not give anyone the right to treat visitors like that. With such an attitude the restaurant will very quickly lose its status.

I rarely write a review for anything. I only do it when I exceptionally like or dislike something. This one I exceptionally disliked for their service. As soon as I sat down, the waitress came to take order, which is a good thing. However, when I said "I need more time". She said "you should order fast as you don't have much time". I just wanted to get up and leave. Anyways, I ordered Pho which was delicious. When I was taking break from eating the waitress came and asked "are you done?" reminding me to hurry up and leave fast. Overall, very bad experience and will never go there again despite of good food. Just to clarify, as I am an "Auslander" my experience is not valid for Europeans.

Sushi itself is very tasty. But the rolls are very large, so you can't eat them all in one go.

We ate here today following a recommendation. It was really very good, the food came quickly and was of excellent quality. We can only recommend it and will definitely come here again. Unfortunately it is very small here due to the building, so it is better to make a reservation.

I highly recommend the sushi at Kaiso! The food was incredibly delicious – every bite was a delight. I was really impressed by the fresh ingredients and the creative preparation. The service was also excellent; the staff was friendly and attentive, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable. If you like Asian food, you definitely have to eat at Kaiso! An absolute must!

This was our second time eating there. The quality is excellent and absolutely justifies the price. The staff was particularly accommodating about my food allergies.
