The food is good and the service is friendly. A robot delivers the food. That's totally cool. The prices are reasonable for the quality, but I find €3 for sauce unreasonable.

A good break in the stressful center. Delicious and quickly prepared. Robot waiter does his job. Everything fine.

Run here and eat whatever you can. We had two meatballs, one with mashed potatoes and one with fried potatoes. Price was really great with a large drink just over €20. Great portion and simply super tasty. I was absolutely full afterwards and just happy to have been a guest here. Thanks to Bella the robot, the service simply gets an extra star for being sweet. Staff also super friendly. Atmosphere is also great for someone who sees the Ruhr area as home. Everything kept black but still light enough to eat.

Nicely presented restaurant. The portions are more than decent for the price, and the quality of the food is also really good. I always enjoy coming to you and hope that you can hold your own against the competition in the long term.

Had dinner there today, never again! The bratwurst was warmed up in the deep fryer. Was shriveled and dry. You shouldn't sell something like that.

The atmosphere is great, very cozy. The food is mediocre. Everything was tasty, but not so much that I would go there again just because of the food. I had a cabbage roll with sauce. The cabbage roll was quite small and the sauce was watery. My son had meatloaf, which was also quite small compared to the side dishes. When we arrived we were the only guests. Two more guests came later. When they had received their food, an employee came a little later and asked if everything was OK and wished them bon appetit. However, we were completely ignored even though we were sitting right at the table next to them. I found that rude and wonder why we weren't asked if everything was okay with us too. The ambience really gets a lot out of it, but the food and service are no reason for me to go there again.

I found this restaurant through a delivery service a few weeks ago. I was thrilled with the food until I received my second-to-last order. I ordered an expensive Cordon Bleu, which was so salty I couldn't eat it. I gave them a response the very next day by phone. I was told that I could choose something comparable as compensation for my next order. Today was the day, I thought. I called beforehand to draw attention to my request and the outcome of the conversation. As compensation, I chose an ADDITIONAL rump steak without salad. (I would have paid the difference anyway!). The person who answered the phone today thought it was absolutely outrageous that I chose a rump steak! I didn't waste any time and explained exactly what I would be ordering today and what the compensation was. He advised me to enter the additional information in the app. I did this in DETAIL! First, my food was delivered by a rude, unprofessional, and brazen driver (I wanted to tip him because it was so late). I held out €10 to him, and he loudly said: Can't I just keep the full amount? I don't have any change. I said: €5 or nothing, because he suddenly had change so quickly! What a nerve!). The next act of audacity came when I opened my bags and found only a rump steak and waffles with sauce declared as "free" (I hate waffles more than anything, I can throw these away now)! Why in the name of God don't you understand the customer's wishes? Out of kindness and respect, I didn't request a refund within the app. The person on the phone deliberately decided to have waffles delivered for me as compensation. This is consistent with his reaction that my request was "too much"! It's a real nuisance to oversalt a cordon bleu to the point of being inedible, and then have the nerve to tell a fairy tale later on the phone. Needless to say, I hung up the phone faster than it could tell a fairy tale. Being so dubious and unprofessional at prices like these is no enrichment for Essen's dining culture. Naturally, I'll avoid ordering there and will make sure I get my compensation as soon as possible.

Is in Limbecker Platz. Small but nice. Ruhrpott food, sauerbraten with potatoes Pü and red cabbage, see photo, was extremely tasty. Meat much so apart. Just like a sauerbraten should be. Portions are also good. Only the Cola, Pepsi, is not suitable. But that's because I personally don't like drinking Pepsi. Keep it up.....

Unfortunately, the food and especially the service were not satisfactory.

Let's start with the positive. The ambience is really successful and exudes Ruhrpot charm. That's about it on the positive side. The chicken schnitzel is a bad joke considering the measly size and the price. You almost had to look for it among the fries, which were mostly too crispy and almost hard. Any simple snack bar can do this at least as badly, but at half the price. In my opinion not recommended. Too bad!

The restaurant is nicely decorated. The gentleman who took the order was friendly. The veal schnitzel with fries we ordered were brought to the table quite quickly. The schnitzel was way too thick and not really tender either. Furthermore, some of the breading was burned or had fallen off. Fries were okay. I visited the restaurant on January 2nd, 2025. The restaurant itself is themed and offers a feel-good environment. The food was very good despite the fact that I'm actually very picky. I can't say much about the staff since I ordered myself, but the waitress was very nice and the food came to the table relatively quickly. All in one, 4 stars. Can only recommend it.

I ate a very tasty duck leg there today that I can only recommend. The service is good and the atmosphere is clean and cozy. Personally, the only thing that bothers me is that there are still a few things that remind me of Corona, be it in the way that you are assigned a table and in the other because of the amount of plexiglass that is everywhere in the restaurant and is also marked with different colored pens for the table numbers. When I go out to eat somewhere, I don't want to be reminded of those bad times, but that's just my personal feeling, otherwise everything is GREAT. Feel free to come back.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The food tastes very good, just like grandma cooked it. The roulade fell apart perfectly into small pieces, the red cabbage was seasoned just right and the mashed potatoes tasted great with the sauce. I can really recommend it.

Simply great! The first time last week it was very tasty and now at least as good. Last week an order was accidentally charged twice. Once we showed the booking and instead of money we wanted to order the same food again. No problem at all. And there was also a free large Coke. The cabin is very quietly designed according to its motto. You feel very comfortable here and have been loyal customers since it opened. The food is simply heavenly and always surprises us. Our little son (3) also regularly finds something he likes here and is always greeted with a smile by the staff. Recently they also have delicious desserts suitable for the Christmas season. A MUST for cinnamon and waffle lovers. My wife, who doesn't really eat raisins, was blown away by the apple strudel. It's simply delicious here!

We were there on November 11, 24 in the afternoon. I had a Holsteiner schnitzel with fried potatoes. It was very good taste and generous portion. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Very tasty classic home cooking plus burgers etc. Ambience cool in mining style. We had mining burgers and sauerbraten. Of course, the whole thing isn't as cheap as the surrounding "restaurants" but absolutely worth the money. The only downside is that the bottom bun of the burger was very soft and therefore couldn't be eaten by hand. Also VERY tasty with a knife and fork .The perfect shop for the pottler and worth 5 stars.

Yesterday we ate here for the first time. We weren't thrilled. I had black pudding with mashed potatoes, apple and salad. I had a very thin piece of apple, a wedge, there was no more apple, the black pudding was very salty, too salty. The schnitzel was good and the fries were crispy, but we had to pay almost 3 euros for the Champions sauce. It was about 50 ml with Champions from a can and tasted like a ready-made sauce. First of all, the orders were taken incorrectly. Okay, that was corrected immediately. I had a veal schnitzel although you don't get one here. Schnitzel can speak! More like a schnitzel, I don't know if the chef just had a bad day? The schnitzel was a bit tough and was absolutely not edible. My wife had the goulash, but the meat was tender. The sauce that came with it was really sour, you could think that it was taken from the sauerbraten. Then the coleslaw wasn't white but turned red, I have no idea what happened to it, I honestly don't even want to know! Well for me at least it was the worst investment of almost 40 euros to date. Actually, it was always a highlight after shopping, but you don't see me there anymore.

Came across it by chance while strolling. The store looks really great with the Ruhrpott design. And the menu immediately fascinated us: real Ruhrpott home cooking. My husband then ordered Königsberger Klopse with red cabbage and puree, I ordered beef roulade with red cabbage and puree. What can I say: really delicious food! The red cabbage still had a slight acidity, the roulade was so tender that you didn't need a knife. We were really excited - and definitely won't be there for the last time!

We wanted to try out the Kabinett restaurant in Limbecker Platz and came to the conclusion that there was really good food there at a surprisingly affordable price. I had the Viennese veal schnitzel, which I have to say was really delicious. For just under €15 it's really a bargain. The service is not really provided as it is a self-service restaurant. The ambience is also great, as it is built entirely in the style of a mine. It's just something different. I can highly recommend the restaurant.

My first but definitely not last visit. The stew tastes very good.

Ordered potato soup with bratwurst for €1.50 extra. When I picked it up there was a bockwurst in the stew and not a bratwurst, which should now cost €2.50. I paid for it to have peace of mind. We (4 people: 2 Refa, 1 Hofa, 1 chef) came to the cabin (from outside) every 2 months and were always satisfied. But what's going on all of a sudden? One and the same meal has suffered so much in quality. We're talking about roast pork here. The puree is completely watered down. The sauerkraut was just warmed up, loveless and had zero taste. The meat was okay. And despite everything, it was only lukewarm. After communicating this via email, a nice communication developed. The service on site was overwhelmed, so we looked for an email route. It's a shame that it happened like that because we were there very early and there was nothing going on at that moment. We don't know whether we'll give the cabin another chance. There is a two month difference in the photo...

It was very tasty, vegan currywurst was great. Generally a lot of vegetarian/vegan variants. A bit on the more expensive side but the plate was very full.

We went to eat here blinded by the appearance. Both the currywurst and the fries were nothing special. The salad plate was a disgrace. Many withered, limp and woody components. The salad dressing was just greasy and slapped on. Given the price, maybe a piece of bread would have been nice. In addition, no receipt for the individual items was received as proof of the card payment, which would actually be normal. It's a shame about the money and the food. We expected much more and are extremely disappointed.

We found the cabin by chance while visiting Limbecker Platz today. We were immediately struck by the charming slogan and the appealing thematic furnishings. The staff couldn't be friendlier and more attentive. Absolute top class service. We had currywurst and children's schnitzel. Everything was of very good quality (even if we personally didn't like the sauce 100%, but that's personal preference. The quality was very good!!). The children's meals were served on colorfully printed children's plates, which made the kids' eyes shine. We particularly enjoyed the fries and the fresh salad. We come from outside. We will definitely come back on our next visit to Essen.

Unfortunately, I can't rate the dishes separately with stars, so I'll only rate my burger with the stars. “Delicious things from home”, yes and unfortunately also patties from frozen. The argument here was that too much would end up being thrown away. It's funny that other burger joints also manage to form the patties fresh and put them on the grill. The black buns may be supposed to look cool, but they give me the impression of being moldy instead of fancy. In addition, they are completely tattered in a short time. We left over €33 and I was expecting at least a drink on the house, but instead there was just a tired "yes, sorry, sorry." Me too! My wife's currywurst was great. The fries were too really tasty, but I definitely won't eat a burger here again.

Grabbed something to eat for the first time today. A mining burger to take home. The staff was very friendly. The ambience is beautifully designed on the theme of mining. The food was very tasty. However, I do have one small point of criticism (but just a small note). The burger was packed in a Styrofoam box. Since it was of course packed in there hot, it naturally started to sweat a lot in there. When I wanted to take it out, the bottom half of the burger was completely soaked, so that I couldn't hold it when I touched it. Maybe you should change the transport box to a cardboard box or something. But in terms of taste, this one was a bomb.

Terrible! The burger is a disaster. Salad floating in sauce on almost untoasted bread. The meat was paper thin and burnt. Even if coal is the issue, you don't have to burn the meat. The schnitzel is frozen food that is served half cold. Plus fries raw inside. In the end we couldn't eat it and went to eat opposite. I recommend that to everyone too. Never again. I'm here on Mother's Day. I ordered two currywurst fries. They're pretty tasty. And with the salad it's also healthy 😅 The service, a young woman, was very personable and friendly. The young man had no idea, but he was cool and had a Harry Potter shirt on. A shop to recommend. Food good, location good and price good, come back one day 🤙 hope the staff is the same then although it doesn't matter but oh well.

Maybe you should focus on the Döninghaus as a Ruhrpott shop. Unfortunately the fries weren't cooked all the way through. With the spritzer you get the 2 bottles placed on the counter. No straw, nothing... but you can ask for glasses. The whole thing for just under €28. A single failure.

Roulade for €13.50 is tiny, instead of red cabbage there is a mini salad as a side dish and mashed potatoes are simply completely dry. I actually remembered it quite well when it opened.

Will definitely come back again. Constructive criticism would be to post a map online for those who are undecided, but maybe I just haven't found it.
