We were absolutely thrilled with the service and the food! The sushi is top-notch and absolutely amazing! For me, the best sushi in Düren! No other place in Düren can compete with it. The appetizers were top-notch: miso soup with fish, and the BBQ chicken stew was delicious. And a delicious Japanese beer.

Right at the beginning of the pedestrian zone in an arcade on the first floor. Very polite and courteous staff, they constantly ask if everything is OK and bow to you. You can watch the sushi master. Very tasty teriyaki sauce, free rice if needed, matcha ice cream also very tasty, and plum wine to finish off the meal. Simply delicious and so friendly. We were here on vacation; otherwise, we would have come back immediately. Highly recommended. Absolutely excellent value for money. Thank you very much.

We visited the Tokio restaurant for the first time today and were thrilled! The food is simply amazing.

At first, we were skeptical about the sheer number of 5* reviews online... ...but then we saw for ourselves. The two of us tried the appetizers and sushi selection and were consistently impressed by the quality and taste. The kani korokke, or crab meat croquettes, were particularly recommended. The sushi was made fresh for us, and we had to restrain ourselves from ordering the entire menu. Our dessert of matcha ice cream and homemade daifuku mochi also impressed us. Vegetarians will also find a good selection of dishes here. The service was very friendly, polite, and attentive, but by no means intrusive. We felt very welcome and will definitely return, looking forward to trying more Japanese classics like katsu-don or ramen.

Was delicious 👌🏻 took a very long time (1.5 hours) but was announced in advance. Charged for a bottle of water while I had a glass. Wrong miso soup was corrected on the receipt. But it was very delicious and never seen such friendly service. ☺️

I was here for the first time today. Before, I thought the good reviews were almost absurd. But now I've been there, and I can only agree with them completely. I've never experienced such friendly and polite service. We were truly treated like a guest, and we were given detailed information about the food. The ambiance is entirely Japanese and very bright and tasteful (you don't notice the shopping arcade in which the restaurant is located). For starters, we had a delicious fish miso soup and an exciting fermented Japanese specialty, simply fantastic. The sushi that followed was very high quality, and the dessert perfectly rounded off this Japanese experience. Thank you for allowing us to be your guests this evening. We'll definitely be back ☺️

Because we had our dog with us, we were allowed to sit downstairs at a table near the entrance. The service started a bit slow, but the Sushi, Sashimi and noodles were excellent.

Today we were taken by friends to this slightly hidden “Düren insider tip” for the first time and we were thrilled. The food is super tasty and the service is extremely friendly. Our friends have just returned from a trip to Japan and also say that Tokyo in Düren can compete with Tokyo in Japan in terms of both service and food. We will definitely come back.

Best Japanese restaurant in the surrounding area. 😍 For comparable taste experiences you probably have to go all the way to the Japanviertel in Düsseldorf. They offer numerous well-known dishes and delicacies that you would know from Japan if you have ever been there yourself. We are already looking forward to our next planned visit soon 😊

We ordered sushi and picked it up - so I can't rate the service and ambience. The sushi was disappointing - even compared to 6 months ago. The price is absolutely excessive compared to the quality. Very small portions, poorly rolled, taste okay but not great, fried too greasy. The portion of edamame was the smallest portion I have ever seen when ordering sushi, and the same goes for the salad.

First of all: we have been eating Japanese food for a long time - in Cologne and Düsseldorf. The extremely positive reviews here made us decide to visit Tokyo - Birthday Party. The ambience was unspectacular, with a Japanese touch. We ordered some appetizers and a sushi platter. Service is very friendly - but also a bit unprofessional - when it comes to serving at the table. Unfortunately, we cannot fully understand the overwhelmingly positive reviews. The food was ok, but not outstanding. We've actually eaten better sushi, for example at Asakusa in Euskirchen. The yakitori skewers, the kimchi or the shrimp croquettes also didn't really impress. The seaweed salad was delicious. All in all, it was ok, but not top notch. But as I said, we also had high standards - not least because of the reviews.

An absolute love letter to Japanese cuisine and service!! From appetizer to dessert, EVERY dish was a 10/10! My clear highlight was the starter with fermented soybeans, egg yolk and tuna! A taste experience that is incomparable and definitely worth trying!! It's sooo special and delicious. 😍😍 For me, the sushi is definitely the best in Düren and the kimchi had the perfect mix of crunchy and spicy. Every question about the dishes and ingredients was explained competently and friendly. I have truly never experienced better service. Gladly again! 😍

Wow what a great experience. You will find such a beautiful oasis in the service desert of Germany. It's rare to find such great service and food. The staff is very respectful, courteous, competent and very friendly. The dishes are an eye-catcher, beautifully prepared and, above all, super tasty. We had sushi and never had so much fish in the makis, on the nigiris and the sashimi Moriawase was also overwhelming. Many thanks to the great team at TOKYO Düren. 👍🏻Big surprise, hidden in the old passage. Incredibly delicious sushi creations and sashimi of the highest quality - who would have thought that here in Düren. We don't advertise, we ended up here just because of a recommendation, the atmosphere is relatively simple (but of course very clean) but that's not the deciding factor, it's the kitchen that completely convinced us. The four of us ordered various appetizers, all kinds of sushi and a ramen with beef (🤌🏻🫶🏻my best ever). Something different and special but a real culinary delight was the Sake Kawa Maki Sushi with grilled salmon skin, the crunch and the delicate taste were unbelievable👍🏻. Everything was really delicious and surpassed some of the top sushi places we had already eaten at. The whole thing was surpassed by the kind of friendly, attentive and lovely staff that is rarely found in Germany. Will definitely 💯% come back and recommend it to others. Chapeau and thanks to the Tokyo team!

I found this place by chance and tried it out in December. I was so excited that I went there again with my group of friends about 2 weeks later. The service is top. I am amazed at the warm hospitality with which you are welcomed (you feel like you are at home or like you are with very good friends). The ambience is also very nice. The food tastes excellent, nothing more can be said about it. The price is also unbeatable. If I can recommend something then it would be the “Torikara frames” and the “Kamo Teriyaki”.

I visited Tokyo on the advice of a good friend (Mr. Specht :) ) - The food was simply excellent - The atmosphere was clean and cozy. The service was remarkably good. All the waiters were very friendly and accommodating. You felt like a valued guest and not a customer! The quality of the food was top notch - the sushi had a good ratio of fish and rice and tasted just as I had hoped. I'll definitely come back. And I'm bringing friends with me. Honor where honor is due, dear Tokyo. :)

If I could give six stars I would. I've eaten here a few times and by far the best sushi in the Düren district is served here. It's delicious, fresh and authentic. Actually you should be able to give the food & service 6 stars. We are very excited and would love to come back! The fish was incredibly fresh and simply delicious! For example, the tuna was of such good quality that it didn't have the "classic tuna smell" at all. We highly recommend the Tuna Inside Out!!
