We visited the Manyo restaurant in Augsburg for the first time today and were thrilled! The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The chef, Hussein, who cooked live right in front of us, was not only extremely entertaining but also impressively precise in his throws. The food was incredibly delicious. We especially remember the extremely friendly, kind, and sweet elderly gentleman – Tonami-Saji, the owner of the shop. He even folded and gave us a handmade origami crane at the end of the meal. An all-around fantastic experience that we highly recommend!

As always, top-notch! Excellent Japanese food. Everything is homemade, including the sauces. Very friendly staff! We'll be back!

You know that in this type of restaurant you will smell like cooking afterwards. But it's not comfortable at all. This could definitely be done better.

We can only recommend Manyo! Original Japanese taste that I know from Japan. The restaurant is run by a lovely Japanese couple. Okunomiyaki was really delicious and there were 3 starters!

I have been going to Manyo regularly for over 20 years - the food has been top for many years - great menus of wonderful Japanese cuisine - the staff is very friendly. You sit at a large table and can watch the delicious freshly prepared dishes live by the chefs - an experience for all the senses 👌 Thank you very much and I would love to come back 🤗

Eating at Manyo is always special. It's food with entertainment: the chef prepares one course after another in the middle while the guests sit around and watch everything. However, due to the seating arrangement around the cooking area, it is hardly possible to have a conversation in a larger group - so it is more likely to be with two or three people. The quality is excellent - but the price is also correspondingly high. We'd love to come back - but it's just something special.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Manyo and overall I was very satisfied. The food was excellent – ​​freshly prepared, tasted excellent and beautifully presented. I was particularly impressed by the show kitchen, where you could watch the chefs preparing the dishes. This gives the experience a special touch and provides additional entertainment. The service was also impeccable: the staff was attentive, friendly and quick without being intrusive. You felt well looked after at all times. The only downside is the ambience. The facility seems a bit old and could use some modernization. But that doesn't detract much from the culinary experience, as the quality of the food and the good service easily make up for it. Overall, a worthwhile visit for anyone who appreciates good food and exciting show cooking. I'd love to come back!

Our visit to Manyo in Augsburg was simply fantastic! As soon as we entered the restaurant we were impressed by the stylish, authentic atmosphere. The atmosphere is pleasant and immediately gives you the feeling of having arrived in Japan. The food was a real taste experience. The menu offers a great selection of Japanese specialties, prepared fresh and with love. The sushi in particular was incredibly tasty – perfectly balanced and artfully prepared. The hot dishes, such as the ramen and tempura, were also of excellent quality and full of flavors. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The staff took the time to explain the different dishes to us and make recommendations, which made our visit even more enjoyable. Even the small details, such as the presentation and preparation of the dishes, show the attention to detail that the Manyo team puts into their work. Overall, Manyo is an absolute insider tip in Augsburg for anyone who wants to enjoy high-quality Japanese cuisine in a stylish ambience. We are already looking forward to our next visit and can only warmly recommend this restaurant!

Were there this evening with our son. An experience. Fabulous food, excellent service. Cooking takes place at the table in front of their eyes. It was flambéed and then a fire engine with an alarm was placed on the table. The children are then sprayed with water. Highlight! Our new favorite restaurant. 5 stars in every category.

Manyo is my absolute favorite teppanyaki restaurant! The quality of the ingredients is top and preparing it directly at the table is always a real experience. The chefs are super professional and know how to perfectly combine taste and show. The service is always friendly and attentive. For a special evening with great food, Manyo is definitely the right choice.

Tepanjaki in a sober and elegant style, the food is excellent and at a good price, the atmosphere is pleasant but austere. Even though from the outside it doesn't seem like it, the restaurant is worth it mainly for the quality of the food.

On the recommendation of “finedine” I tested the Manyo. Yes, when I came in the door I gently slide to the table on a slightly greasy tile floor. I still have the hazy, greasy restaurant smell that I could breathe in right from the start in my jackets. The food is good, the service is okay, but nothing more. And have you ever inspected the air conditioning units on the ceiling? Luckily it wasn't turned on. I'll come back when the store has more of a Japanese atmosphere and is clean.

I was here as part of a birthday party. I found it very strange and disturbing that two other strangers were sitting at the table with us. This meant that it was not possible to have a conversation without being disturbed. The prices are significantly higher and in my opinion overpriced as the portions are small. There's no way you'll get full from one main course alone. A main course doesn't even include a portion of rice. The quality and taste are good, but it's way too expensive for the amount of food. It's also a shame that you can only get certain dishes, such as sushi, if you announce it the day before. In the end you didn't even get a fortune cookie or an alternative. The food is freshly prepared in front of you. You also get an apron so that your clothes don't get dirty. However, after visiting the restaurant you smell very strongly of food and all the items on the table are completely covered in grease. The staff is polite, but has very little knowledge of German. In my opinion that's not a problem, but the staff didn't speak English either, which really surprises me these days. Conclusion: you pay a lot of money, get a good show, but you don't get full - it tasted good

We visited Manyo for the first time yesterday. We were served in a super friendly and polite manner. The food was fresh and very tasty. It was a great experience and we will definitely come back. Only the portion could have been a little larger for me. But then next time I'll probably have to order a dessert or appetizer.

The impression on site is not inviting. This then continues in the restaurant. I don't know what was going on that day or if it's like that in general. There were no service staff in kimono and in my opinion the grumpy, unfunny-looking chef was not Japanese. I was disappointed with his cooking skills and felt it was a shame for the otherwise well-known Japanese cuisine. Anyone who puts fish on the grill before meat (duck) and then roasts the fish "dead" and seasoned both with standard spices (salt and pepper) doesn't know much about cooking. Two different sauces are also used. Japanese cuisine has much more to offer in terms of spices, sauces and sophistication. Last but not least, some kind of show and entertainment was missing. For whatever reason, this chef had a face mask on. Maybe it makes sense, I don't know. You cheap plastic gloves were absolutely not suitable. What was impossible for me was the leftover container placed in front of me. This was used to scrape the residue from the grill into it using a pallet. I placed my water glass further away for reasons. The service was almost attentive, polite, friendly. At least here some JAPAN.

The ventilation doesn't work here and it is very unpleasantly loud. Unfortunately, the employees obviously don't understand each other. Nevertheless, they are very customer friendly. Eat: I would prefer the starter soup warm. Unfortunately the tofu on the skewer was too dry. I would also like to have been told what the starters were made of. I expected something other than tomatoes in a Japanese-style salad. The service took so long that I didn't want the main course anymore. The dessert was delicious.

Rather inconspicuous from the outside in the backyard, but very nice inside. You are warmly welcomed and shown to the table. Warm, damp cloths are provided to clean your hands and an apron is tied around to protect your clothes. The service is friendly and attentive 😊 We chose menu Wakana... The starters are super tasty. The chef conjures up super tasty dishes with little shows from fresh vegetables/meat and fish on the hot plate at the table.😀 This is pure experience gastronomy 👍🤗🤤 The flambéed vanilla ice cream with mango sauce is the highlight of the evening. 🔥🚒 It was a wonderful evening, completely relaxed and full, leaving the restaurant after about 3 hours 👍🤗 We also received an origami crane as a lucky charm, thank you very much! Gladly again.

A little expensive, but you have to put that in perspective because we didn't choose a menu but wanted to try it out. Very fine cuisine and great entertainment.

I chose one of the 3 menus. A variety of cold and warm dishes were served. For the price I expected a little more. Which doesn't mean the food was bad, just not special enough for me. The restaurant is also very sparsely and simply furnished, which didn't seem particularly inviting to me.

Now we are for the second time (lunch and dinner). Both times totally delicious and a real experience. I can really recommend it to everyone! 10/5*.

ごちそうさまでした! I long for Japan every time I'm here. The staff is really nice and the food is fantastic, although I would rather enjoy a Japanese dessert instead of vanilla ice cream. The okonomiyaki is wonderful, teppanyaki is a highlight every time.

Was a really great experience. I can highly recommend the menu. Everything is well planned here. You never have to wait long for your food, your wishes are catered for. I documented the different courses. I recommend making reservations in advance. Parking spaces are available at the front door. From the cook to the boss, everyone is very friendly. I was treated to dinner here yesterday for my birthday and I have to say it was an absolutely amazing experience. The food was super tasty; I liked everything, it was well seasoned, it was fresh and perfectly portioned. I had the Akane menu and swapped the beef for the seafood. The restaurant is very flexible and responds to all customer wishes. The owner is a very friendly, older man who is very fit for his age. He brings in a certain charm. The staff was humorous, the performance couldn't have been better. The way we work is absolutely clean and thorough. Regarding the ambience, I can say that it was loud at times, but that's not the owner/restaurant's fault as it's up to the guests. We were also a bit confused at the beginning that we had to sit at a stove/table with a lot of strangers. But we had great people sitting next to us and laughed together. You have to get out of your comfort zone and try something new. We were completely happy with my menu and that of my partner and can definitely recommend it for meat lovers/seafood lovers! Unfortunately, our friend who had the vegetarian menu was disappointed. As a suggestion for improvement we can recommend the following for the vegetarian menu: For “A typical Japanese appetizer,” he only got half of what we had. He had no egg and no carrot salad. That irritated us... In general you could work with more tofu, seitan or something similar. After eating he was only moderately full and was also disappointed. Maybe you can accept that and think about it. Otherwise, the Manyo restaurant is an absolute recommendation and a great experience in Augsburg!

There were 4 of us and 2 strangers were seated at the table or cooking area. At the Japanese restaurant you sit at a large hob and a chef prepares the food directly at the "table". You can only choose from menus that have already been put together and they start at 45 euros per person. Unfortunately, the whole thing is very mechanical and the cook seemed very listless to me. I was in a Japanese restaurant in another country and there was a show and fun there. Things are very matter-of-fact here. So I was very disappointed because I wanted to show my family something special. We saw it once and that was enough.

Unfortunately for us (12/24) the service and chef were not attuned. Cutlery, plates, something was constantly being forgotten and the cook was constantly arguing with the young man and had to leave his station to get something. Unfortunately, I never received my second drink order. The food tasted more European-Asian, I missed the authentic tastes of Japan. At 50€ per person It was too expensive for me to have to watch the little hidden conflict. I often eat in this price range and am used to much better food in Munich or Berlin. What a shame!

We (4 people) received a friendly welcome and (to our surprise) were shown to a horseshoe-shaped table where another 4 people were seated. In the middle of the horseshoe is the chef and opposite is the other horseshoe with 8 more people. It's a good idea to order a menu and watch the chef prepare it right in front of you. The service and quality of the food are top-notch, and the chef spreads good humor with little jokes. An experience not to be missed.

I'm speechless. I've never eaten anything so good. It's best to take the menu with fish and meat, it costs a bit but it's worth it. The pictures speak for themselves.

Always an experience, eating at a hot table! You get really tasty food for absolutely reasonable prices. A little variation in the menu would be nice... Because somehow everything has remained unchanged for 30 years. Disadvantages: the service is definitely overwhelmed. And then you smell like drippings.

Wir kommen einmal im Jahr und immer wieder WOW .🤤 Das essen ist lecker 😋 der Service gibt alles und der Koch ist ja so oder so genial . Waren 5 Personen und alle bekommen das Essen gleichzeitig. Bitte keine Sonntagskleidung da es im Restaurant schon mal Grill riechen kann. Für uns aber kein Mangel denn: wo gehobelt wird fallen Späne. In unserem Fall richt es ☺️

Leider ist das Manyo etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Im Gastraum hat sich seit unserem ersten Besuch vor 20 Jahren nicht viel geändert. Es gibt 4 Teppanyaki Tische mit je 8 Plätzen. Der Koch bekochte jeweils 2 Tische gleichzeitig, hatte aber damit keine Probleme, die Speisen wurden ohne Verzögerung für alle Gäste zubereitet. Geschmacklich war alles gut, aber auch nichts herausragendes. Die etwas merkwürdige Nummer mit dem Spielzeug - Feuerwehrauto wurde ja schon mehrfach erwähnt. Idealerweise kommt man mit 8 Personen, dann hat man einen Tisch für sich und wird nicht zu anderen Gästen dazu gesetzt. Hat uns nicht zu sehr gestört, da das Paar zu unseren Linken sehr nett war. Das Preis Leistungs Verhältnis ist okay. Was uns wirklich gestört hat, war die unzureichende Lüftung bzw Abluftanlage. Man sitzt eigentlich die gesamte Zeit in den Bratdämpfen. Hier ist sicherlich Handlungsbedarf.

Das Essen ist hervorragend, tolle Show bei dem Livecooking. Preise vollkommen in Ordnung. Sehr aufmerksamer Service, was will man mehr 😊ein toller Abend mit einem super gastronomischen Highlight. Ich kann das Restaurant uneingeschränkt jedem empfehlen der eine authentische japanische Küche mag.

Sehr gutes Essen und sehr gute Show beim Speisen herrichten, braten. Ein Koch zaubert mit ihm typischen Spachteln das Gemüse Fleisch, Fisch. Es gibt zwei Menüvorschläge und ich empfehle die Sonderlocke, Menü mit beiden Hauptgängen, Man kann sich zwischen Fisch und Fleisch zum Hautgang entscheiden, aber davon rate ich dringend ab. Zeit und Ruhe sollte man mitbringen, Ambiente, Feeling, sehen, wie auch die anderen Speisen der Gäste, die mit einem an dem Rondell sitzen, zubereitet werden, gehören dazu. Fragen sie ruhig nach den Zutaten, alles wird gerne erklärt. Alles in allem ist der Besuch dieses japanischen Restaurant immer ein Genuss. Preislich hält der Abend mit ca 60 € pro Person sich noch im Rahmen. Kenne ich durchaus hochpreisiger. Bitte reservieren sie einen Platz rechtzeitig und laden sie nur Leute ein, die Esskultur, Stil und Kultur mitbringen. Schlinghälse sind die falschen Gäste. Ich empfehle den Besuch dieses japanischen Restaurant zu besonderen Anlässen als Genuß immer wieder.

Ein absoluter Hochgenuss! Erstklassige Bedienung im authentischen Ambiente wo Qualität noch groß geschrieben wird! Ein großes Lob an den Koch der uns nicht nur kulinarisch verwöhnt hat sondern auch noch mit einer kleinen Showeinlage ein Lächeln ins Gesicht gezaubert hat! Ich liebe dieses Restaurant! Macht bitte weiter so!

Nach 1.5 Stunden Wartezeit noch nicht einmal die Vorspeise erhalten. Komplett personell unterbesetzt. Gäste die nach uns eingetroffen sind haben ihr komplettes Essen vor uns erhalten. Stark verbesserungswürdig und schlecht organisiert wie ich es selten erlebt habe. Schlecht belüftet und daher sollte man es sich verkneifen gute Kleidung zu tragen, da diese definitiv danach eh in die Reinigung muss.

Es war super. Das Live kochen hat mich begeistert. Das Mittagsmenü hat hervorragend geschmeckt, nur das Rinderfilet war leider nicht medium obwohl ich es mir gewünscht habe. Das Personal war äußerst freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Wir waren spontan zu Mittag dort und haben sofort zu zweit Platz am Teppanyaki Grill (max 16 Leute pro Tisch) gefunden. Mir ist direkt das süße und herzliche Inhaber-Paar(?) aufgefallen. Das Essen war auf den Punkt perfekt gegart, nicht zu übersalzen und schmeckte sehr frisch. Der Service war gut, erfolgt durch das alte Ehepaar wobei die Dame nur Japanisch spricht. So hat man die Chance etwas zu üben wenn man paar Brocken Japanisch kann. Die Atmosphäre war für mich neu aber das Live Cooking imponiert auf jeden Fall, vor allem wenn man das Eis bestellt. Am Nebentisch gab es noch einen Sushi Kurs, was ich auch interessant fand. Insgesamt hat es mich nach dem ersten Besuch auf jeden Fall überzeugt
