Jam Jam Running Sushi in Hamburg

Man hat mir den Aufenthalt am Running Sushi von vornherein auf eine Stunde limitiert, mit dem Hinweis, dass alle Tische reserviert seien (zwei Drittel der Tische waren aber frei) und dieser eine jetzt noch eine Stunde frei sei. Weder auf der Website noch in der Speisekarte findet sich der Hinweis, dass All-you-can-eat auf eine Stunde limitiert ist. Die Teller beim Running Sushi sind sehr klein und spärlich gefüllt. Die Küche lässt sich mit Nachschub reichlich Zeit. Alles in Allem ein miserables Angebot. Nicht empfehlenswert!

After a long time we were finally there again and, as always, we received a very friendly welcome. The food is okay to good. The service is top. All in all, I always enjoy eating there and always feel good.

Highly recommended. We were there on time at the reserved time and got our table straight away. The food was really tasty and everyone was full :). Service was very friendly and immediate, even requested plates were picked up and brought straight to the table. Always happy again.

So far I've only ever been here for all-you-can-eat lunch, but I love it. If you are now recognized by the staff, you will be even more happy to be there 🤭 And even though I've been there many times, there is always at least one new plate that I hadn't discovered before 👌🏻 Great selection even for non-sushi eaters! I would only deduct a star for the ambience, but only because it is not the latest equipment. But it doesn't detract from the food or the atmosphere. I will go back for lunch soon. Price/performance lunch, 10 out of 10 🙌🏻

Come by the buffet again on Saturday, the selection of dishes is unfortunately a bit more mainstream, but there is something for every taste! What struck us as somewhat unpleasant was that we were asked several times what we were waiting for or whether we were ready…. Although we distorted everything (including drinks), they tried to complement us, we are not used to this in restaurants, perhaps the service concept should be refined a little...

Always a nice experience. You can also get a spot spontaneously for two people, but for larger groups it is advisable to make a reservation. Gladly again.

unfortunately not recommended. Were in Hamburg over the weekend. Had a table reserved at 7:30 p.m. The store was packed. We were asked to wait. There were a lot of people waiting there who already had a reservation at 7 p.m. The waiters had no idea how many people were actually waiting for a table. In some cases, people who had booked a table at a later time were taken. We decided to leave (which was a good thing). We walked over again about an hour later and the people who were ahead of us were still sitting and waiting for their table.

The food is very tasty. We recommend the buffet, which is very extensive and varied. Unfortunately it has recently become extremely expensive (€28.50). The staff is friendly and attentive. If the price doesn't put you off, you should definitely reserve a table.

It was a fun experience to try running sushi in Hamburg. Visited during lunch so it was not very crowded and calm. However, I think the menu is not as extensive as for dinner. After 2-3 run, you can actually see that there are not so many varieties.The food itself is okay, not the best, but enough to enjoy and make yourself full. Absolute mass production with below average Asian cuisine. Can you save...

My husband had a really unpleasant experience here today. He didn't want to drink, but was then made aware several times of the service fee that would apply if you didn't want to drink (he was already aware of that). At some point he ordered something to drink so that he could finally be left alone and no longer complained about. The drink then came in a glass that had clearly not been washed at all (see lipstick). Sushi was monotonous, salmon was poor quality and he felt uncomfortable from start to finish. Never again.

In my opinion the sushi is of very poor quality - but of course you have to buy in bulk. The good things were gone quickly and then only desserts came. If you're hungry, the shop is ideal for little money.

Since my last visit, Jam Jam Sushi has really improved! My first experience at the lunch table was rather disappointing, but my evening visit pleasantly surprised me. The food was fresh and tasty, and there were significantly more variations than the lunch menu. This seems to justify the higher price in the evening. The ambience has also improved greatly - it has become cleaner and more pleasant. The flexibility of the service was particularly commendable: Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were given a table for an hour. That was enough because the food was great and never got boring thanks to the different variations. The bowls were cleared regularly so we never had to contend with a full table. Overall, a really positive development – ​​I’d love to come back!

It's worth a try if you've never been to such establishments. But the price of competitors is lower. And there is constant tension from other clients who are waiting for you to vacate the table quickly. You won't be able to sit and chat.

Well. We decided at 2.40pm to rush and try to catch the lunch special. As soon as we entered, we were told, that we only had till 3.45pm time to sit and eat. As soon as we sat down. I was told, that I couldn’t have the sports bottles with smoothies inside on the table. We weren’t planning to drink them o. I was told, if we don’t order any drinks we will be charged 2€ per person. Then I decided to order drinks, but since we were rushed, we didn’t drink them. The glasses stayed full with Soda. While we were still eating at 3.20pm, the waiter came over to tell us again that they will be closing at 3.30pm. He just started to clean the table, even though we were eating. So disappointed and disrespectful. We lost our appetite and left to pay. Then I wanted to have the Sodas to go, since we didn’t finish them. But they didn’t have to go cups. They were going to poor them into a soup cup. To say the least, the waitress said , that we didn’t had to pay for the drinks after all.

Sushi quality isn’t that great but they atleast keep sending a lot of different kinds of sushi’s. There is one waiter however who is extremely rude. He kept shouting at us I wouldn’t go there again

Today lunch with 6 friends and reservation. Opens at 12 p.m., they immediately tried to force 6 of us to a table. We preferred to choose 4 and 2 because that way you can choose the food better. The waitress was very angry that we did it like that, because the restaurant was very empty. That's very cheeky. The waiter we had was very attentive and friendly 😊 Unfortunately, the food at lunch isn't as good as in the evening, as we were told, that was disappointing 😢 The warm dishes go above and the sushi goes below. I ate here 25 years ago, but it's not as good as I remember 😢 Chicken nuggets, potato crockettes, fries with ketchup and some other things shouldn't be in a sushi restaurant. Price-performance OK at lunchtime, but could be better.

Jam Jam is often very busy, so reservations are definitely recommended. Overall, the all-you-can-eat offering is rather average – the highlight is the running sushi experience. The sushi itself has no wow factor and falls short of expectations. Unfortunately I won't be coming back here as I know better options in the city.

The food and overall experience were very good—until it was time to pay. As tourists, we attempted to pay with our Visa and Mastercard, only to be informed that the establishment’s card machine only accepts EC cards, a fact we were unaware of. Unfortunately, we did not have cash on hand. When I asked the waiter if we could pay via Revolut, IBAN transfer, or PayPal, he rudely refused and walked away laughing, sarcastically suggesting that we would need to clean the dishes instead. Following this, we were completely ignored by the staff. Desperate to resolve the situation, I approached a younger waitress, Xuejing, who was the only person willing to help. She kindly allowed me to send her the payment through PayPal, and I deeply appreciate her assistance. However, while I was completing the payment, the rest of the staff stood behind me, openly laughing and mocking me—a behavior that was both unprofessional and humiliating.This was an absolutely appalling experience, and while I am grateful to Xuejing for her kindness and professionalism, the rest of the staff demonstrated shockingly poor behavior that completely overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable visit.

We were actually always satisfied there, but for some time now the offer for the all you can eat buffet has no longer been satisfactory, especially for the price. You wait a very long time until something comes along that appeals to you, as sometimes only a few types of dishes are on the production line for a very long time, but they are several times. On our last visit, the vanilla sauce on the dessert was bad. We pointed this out to an employee, but the desserts with this sauce would still be left on the conveyor belt. There is also an employee there who is incredibly unfriendly. You can always have a bad day, but since we were there regularly until recently and there was unfriendly behavior on every visit, this seems to be standard for him. On our last visit, when we were being assigned our seats, guests who were about to leave came towards us and warned us that this employee was in a particularly bad mood today. Children/strollers were also met with an annoyed groan despite a previous comment in the reservation. A no go for us. We'd rather look for something else.

The food really tasted very good, there was something for everyone - every now and then some of the same things came one after the other and you had to wait longer for others. The furnishings are a little old and could be a little more modern. However, the toilets were very clean and there was enough toilet paper. Since the restaurant is relatively small, we were told that we only had two hours, but after an hour and a half we were pushed a little bit whether we wanted to order something else to drink (in the order-or-leave style to make room for new guests ), this happened about every 10 minutes and wasn't very pleasant.

Four of us went to this Chinese restaurant. The atmosphere with the treadmills is great - the food is really tasty. There is something for every taste. Also great for vegetarians. The service is great. The plates are cleared away quickly so that you quickly have space again.

I've been going here every 2 to 3 months since 2005. In my opinion, the relationship between price and performance is still correct even after the price increase. The selection on the treadmills is good for all-you-can-eat in the evening. The offer in the afternoon is noticeably thinner, but the price is also reduced. If you like it a little less crowded and less noisy, I recommend the afternoon. If you like it simply delicious with a large selection, I recommend the evening. However, despite having a reservation, you should be patient in the queue in the evening if you don't have a reservation right away when it opens. It can take 20 minutes+ until a table becomes available again. This will be because the guests do not get up from their seats on their own after the 2-hour all-you-can-eat time window. Which of course speaks for the good food :-) The service is good enough. You actually only need to order drinks if you don't order the menu items. I always order a bottle of sparkling water with 2 glasses for 2 people and that lasts well over the 2 hours. The empty sushi plates are cleared away quickly and there is always the opportunity to order something if you miss something on the conveyor belts. I have been coming there every 3 months for the last 2 years, even though I moved to Rhineland-Palatinate, and I continue to do so.

Anyone who likes Asian cuisine including sushi is in good hands here. We usually go there for the lunch buffet and the price-performance ratio is really fair. Unfortunately, sometimes you have to wait for certain foods until they are back on the conveyor belt, which is annoying. No one from the staff helped us, even though several people walked past. Left again after 30 minutes. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is absolutely not right here. Won't be coming back.

Jam Jam Running Sushi, Hamburg-Wandsbek – a big disappointment Unfortunately, our visit to Jam Jam Running Sushi in Hamburg-Wandsbek last weekend was a bitter disappointment. We were looking forward to the advertised special lunch buffet, but were sobered up after a few minutes. In reality, the so-called running sushi was hardly there. There was only a small selection of sushi available, and the few varieties offered were not only unappetizing but also poorly rolled, almost like a lump and not what you would imagine sushi to be. Instead, plates of fried noodles, potato croquettes and chicken nuggets that had little to do with sushi and didn't offer nearly the variety that should characterize a sushi restaurant were rolled on the conveyor belt in an endless loop. Even the reception was unpleasant. Even though we had reservations, we were greeted rudely and sent to our seats, with a staff member loudly shouting instructions across the conveyor belt, causing all the guests to turn around and immediately making us feel uncomfortable. Even the service couldn't save this bad first impression. The quality of the food was subpar. The sushi and the other dishes on the conveyor belt seemed old and not fresh. The plates were worn and partly cracked, which also didn't make for an appetizing picture. It gave the impression that leftovers from the previous evening had simply been placed on the conveyor belt. After almost 10 minutes it was clear to us that there would be no more variety here. The special lunch buffet for four people cost us 99 euros, which was absolutely not justified given the poor quality and lack of offerings. To make matters worse, our son reported that the toilets were in appalling condition. The floor was sticky and dirty, so when he left the restaurant his shoes were still stuck to it, spreading the dirt throughout the dining rooms. We've been here with friends in the past and loved it, but this time it was the exact opposite. The quality of the restaurant has deteriorated significantly, so we cannot recommend it under any circumstances - neither for the price nor for the quality of the food.

But diagonally opposite is Wandsbek Markt, a stop for many bus lines and the U1 subway line. So you don't have to go there by car 😉.

It gets on my nerves so much that the waiters always stand in front of you after a maximum of an hour and ask whether you've had enough, even though the gentleman has seen that we're still eating. Suddenly he just clears our table. When I then took a piece of cake from the conveyor belt (out of spite), he apparently didn't like it at all and suggested that we sit at the front of the cash register near the chairs. I won't do that again for at least 30 euros per person.

There were two of us here. Food was delicious and we were full and satisfied. It's not cheap, but it's pretty cool to try it out. Staff is attentive and quick. The disadvantage if there are more than 2 people, it is always difficult for two people to reach the tape to get something out. Therefore, I would only recommend doing it with two people. (Personally, it would be too stressful for me, endless back and forth) There is a lot of choice hot and cold. As others have mentioned: reservations are necessary! Card payment is possible.

Delicious running sushi - reservation is recommended...

We were here for the first time today. We liked it very much. The sushi was very tasty, the selection was large and the conveyor belts were constantly being restocked. The staff were friendly and quickly cleared the small plates from the table. The only small drawback: it was quite loud because of the many other guests. It wasn't possible to have a good conversation, which bothered me a little bit personally. But all in all a successful evening, we will definitely be back.

The good thing here is the diversity, because it's not just sushi. It is ideal for simply trying out sushi. If you or your companion doesn't like it, you can still get full. I ate sushi here for the first time in my life about 11 years ago. I haven't noticed any change in quality since then - everything is as usual, to my complete satisfaction. Since I haven't been here for about 6 years, I can say that with a clear conscience.

The rice tasted stale, and the warm food had a ready-made quality. By the time we started the dessert, the selection had been reduced even more. Very limited selection for vegetarians and chicken lovers. Waiters unfriendly and hectic, suddenly friendly when paying. We sat there, took a short break and suddenly our chopsticks were simply put away. Ambience: very crowded and loud when busy. A drink must be ordered with the evening buffet, otherwise an additional €2 service charge will be added. My sister got slightly sick from the treadmill.

All in all convincing. There was space at short notice, but I would still recommend making a reservation. The food is mostly very good for all you can eat standards and the staff is friendly.

I've known Jam Jam for many years and always enjoy going there for running sushi. The variety of different dishes on the small plates is really impressive and everything tastes really delicious and is absolutely fresh. The lower level is for cold dishes such as sushi and this is also specially cooled, the upper level is for warm dishes. Unfortunately, despite the instructions on the sliding doors, some guests do not understand that the doors should be closed again after they have been taken out and not left open all evening. But that's why the lower area is actively cooled and it doesn't pose a problem. I'm really looking forward to my next visit to Jam Jam. Tip: it's better to call in advance and reserve a table so that you don't have to wait so long.

Have been here very often. The quality is decent. The mix/selection of cold and hot dishes is very diverse. This way, everyone can try everything and try their favorites again. If something is out of stock, especially if you are sitting at the end of the line in a strategically awkward position, please feel free to ask or express your wishes. Then you can get something delivered straight to you. Last time we were even asked several times whether we were missing something or whether we wanted something specific again... Actually my absolute favorite restaurant ❣️ unfortunately the rice in the sushi today was so sugary that I couldn't eat it. And unfortunately today there was only store-bought mochi... Otherwise they would always be made fresh... (the taste is of course worlds apart ). Please change that again 🙏 😭
