Irena's Gaststätte in Völklingen

Unfortunately, only 1 star. No friends and I wanted to go, but it was already closed. But you could still hear people celebrating and laughing in the bar.

Good home-cooked food, OK service, but the ambiance isn't antique, just ancient. Limited parking.

We only had to wait a maximum of 5 minutes for our food, and that was for schnitzel with cheese and sauce. It was a paper-thin schnitzel with a thick breading; it was okay, but not exactly a culinary delight. The schnitzel with cheese and sauce seemed to have come from the microwave...it was served with fries and salad. The pizzas there are definitely better. Update 12/13/25 We ordered pasta for €320 for a Christmas party with 30 people, including 15 children...we were appalled by the quality of the food. There was spaghetti with tomato sauce and rigatoni à la panna, which didn't deserve the name. They were working with ingredients worth less than €20. The ham wasn't cooked, nor was it of good quality; it was simply sprinkled over the pasta, which was swimming in an unidentifiable white sauce. It was awful, and we won't be ordering from them again...we felt completely ripped off!

Excellent service and good food

A cozy, rustic restaurant; the service was very friendly and the food was great 👍, excellent value for money!
