India Palace in Bensheim

India Palace is simply the best Indian restaurant there is. Nowhere else can you eat so well 😊

For us, the India Palace in Bensheim-Auerbach is one of the best Indian restaurants in the area. The restaurant is spacious and comfortably furnished and the service staff is friendly. There is a large selection of different dishes on the menu. Every dish you order comes with a free starter of naan bread and a small selection of dips/sauces. The food is served quickly and the portions are decently sized, regardless of whether you eat it on site or take it home with you.

Our visit to the Indian Palace was great in every way. First we had tasty starters (Pakoras and Onion Bhaji) and as main courses Karahi Gosht, Murgh Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken. Everything was excellently seasoned, simply delicious. In addition, the dishes here are served in much larger bowls than I am normally used to in Indian restaurants. At the end we were asked whether something should be packed, which in principle we would have liked to do, but unfortunately it wouldn't have made any sense. What I want to say by way of example is that the service was also very customer-friendly. Bottom line: an exceptional Indian in every respect and therefore full marks.

Always delicious. We've been going to this restaurant for years, or rather decades. Quality is always great, portions great, prices normal. We love the tomato soup as well as tandoori and butter chicken.

Is my favorite with Indians. You get bread (naan) and dips for free as a starter. The food is tasty, prices are ok and the decoration is typically Indian. There are about 8 free parking spaces behind the restaurant. Otherwise it will be difficult and you will have to park further away.

Even though I loved the test I have given one star less. They have really good test and good interior. Very less parking and sometimes painful to find the parking. Service is nice because they have very limited customers. Most of the tables were empty and this makes you feel lonely and no restaurant vibes 😉 But test is really nice, staff is very friendly and interactive….. 👏👏

As always, very tasty food, friendly service, large portions. It's best to bring a small container with you to avoid packaging material. Can sit outside on the terrace when the weather is good. We would be happy to come back.

A true surprise! When we walked toeards the restaurant the surrounding buildings were not too nice, but when we walked to the entrance the feeling of India really came. Interior is well done and the food was one of the better Indian food I have eaten (and I‘ve been in a lot of Indian restaurants). Well done and thanks!

Last Sunday we went to our absolute favorite Indian restaurant again... first of all... we have been visiting the restaurant for about 15 years and - apart from little things - we have always been happy and therefore 5 stars! This time I ordered chicken with vegetables from the Tandori (No. 40) and was a bit disappointed... the legendary flatbread came after the starter and after/with the main course... the meat was as always - good, but the vegetables were onions , leek and spring onion...5 red mega-thin strips... beetroot? and 4 x 4 sqcm zucchini... I like onions and the like, but there was nothing else to taste, I also think that in the past at least peppers and possibly mushrooms were included... that the prices are rising ( same here) is completely normal, both in the EC and in the restaurant, but you shouldn't save so much on the side dishes! Of course I'll still go to the "India Palace", but I'm hoping for the usual quality and variety in the food!

Best Indian food outside of India. No other restaurant can compete. Everyone I take there confirms to me :) the service is super nice, quick and warm and the restaurant is very cozy. I really enjoy going there. Unfortunately it's pretty expensive, so not that often, but quality has its price :)

One of our favorite restaurants! Food super tasty. The Dal Makhani and the Chicken Korma are recommended. Portions are huge and the food is served quickly. I'm already looking forward to the next time!

My absolute favorite restaurant when I want Indian food! All the dishes we've tried so far have tasted great, the service is always friendly and there are a few leftover portions for lunch the next day. 😉 The lunch menu is also great, the price is super fair and the orders are quick and uncomplicated. What a disgrace to the Indian kitchen !!! I have never tasted such a bad butter chicken in my whole life, the sauce was absolutely horrible till i vomited. it has nothing to do with the butter chicken. The rice was sticky and you could smell it was a cheap quality rice. I am begging you either to change the chef or find a solution because it does not belong to the Indian kitchen at all.

In short: The food was fantastic from A to Z. Everything that came to the table was wonderfully freshly prepared. Service very attentive. It wasn't the last time we were here. You have to make a reservation... it was fully booked. The noise level is very high in the middle.

Was in the mood for Indian food driving across Germany and came across this Indian Palace. In spite of the name not being very pretentious, this place was packed with German couples out on a Saturday night. And I found out the food is what brings them there. The nan and butter chicken were terrific. Definitely best nan I’ve had in Europe and the butter chicken was up there as well. Generous portions, reasonable prices and they doggy bag your left overs for you to take home. The owner/manager was very hard working, but didn’t miss a beat on making guests feel welcome and make sure they were cared for. Highly recommend if you are passing Bensheim on the 5.

Very good Indian restaurant. Were here for the first time today and would love to come back. Our vegan daughter also found what she was looking for without any problems. The food is not only delicious, but also so rich that we will all have a medium meal available tomorrow.

We tried this Indian last week and were very pleasantly surprised. The food is delicious and the menu is very diverse. We will go there more often and try one or two dishes. Price performance ratio is great. Clear recommendation

Food was excellent, service was very good, ambience was good but it could be even better. The operator tries to provide as many tables as possible and all of them will be occupied. This is at the expense of the mood. I prefer smaller restaurants. There is nothing to complain about in the rest. I'll be back.

Incredibly rude and arrogant. The head waiter was so rude that I will never eat there again. The food ordered could only be interpreted as freshly prepared with a sense of humor.

Fantastic! Came by and spontaneously decided to order something from the lunch menu. Not a problem at all. I asked for Indian spicy and after 10 minutes they came out with a plate and spoon to pre-taste the spicy sauce and asked me to check of it was spicy enough. It could be even more spicy and so they did. Lovely food, even for a takeaway there was so much chicken and lamb in the sauce, a rare thing these days. Definitely coming back for more! Prices very ok, large portions. There is place to park your bike available, entrance for disabled also available. Small parking place at the back, for small cars only or for people who know how to steer in small areas. Entrance at the right side of the building. They so much love the food they make that they help wrapping it into your bike bags, and they recommended to take Tupperware next time for transporting the food more secure. Absolutely recommended!

Sehr leckeres Essen hier. Wir waren überrascht, wie viele Gäste der selben Meinubg waren, denn es war brechend voll. Trotz dessen wurden wir schnell bedient. Das Essen war hervorragend, die dargereichten Soßen leicht scharf und schmackhaft. Ich hatte 76 Chicken Nurani und extrem zufrieden. Die Bedienung war leider leicht gestresst und somit wenig aufmerksam und hatte es eilig. Verständlich. Wir kommen wieder!!

Portionen sehr reichlich, Preise daher meines Erachtens gerechtfertigt. Seit über 15 Jahren bin ich dort Gast und wurde nie enttäuscht, Qualität immer gleichbleibend hoch und Essen sehr lecker. Nette Mitarbeiter. Kann es nur empfehlen :)

Waren am 25.12.23 mit guten Freunden hier Essen. Wollten ein gute Zeit haben. Ich muss leider sagen, dass wir das Essen überhaubt nicht genießen konnten. Es wurden von uns 7 verschiedene Gerichte bestellt. 5! davon hatten die exakt gleiche Curry sauce und noch dazu total süß, was eigentlich nicht sein darf. Als Inder weiß ich, dass Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamm Vindalloo, Mallai Kofta und Veg Karahi allesamt unterschiedlich und anders schmecken und aussehen. Aber alle Gericht hatten die gleiche, extrem süße Curry Sauce und sahen noch dazu gleich aus. Beim Veg Karahi war das Gemüse noch roh. Ich bin mir sicher, dass um Zeit zu sparen eine Curry Sauce vorgekocht und dann für die unterschiedlichen Gerichte verwendet wurde. Und das darf so nicht sein. Jedes Gericht MUSS einzeln zubereitet werden!! Darauf angesprochen sagte man uns, dass die Gäste hier das so mögen würden, was ich mir schwer vorstellen kann. Muss aber sagen, dass das Naan Brot und die Pappadams super lecker waren. Ich hoffe, dass in Zukunft die Gäste mit authentischen, indischen Gerichten bedient werden.

Was ist da indisch ? Speisekarte zu kompliziert, fast alles wird in kleinen Töpfchen serviert. Wenn man indisch Essen geht muss das was besonderes sein. Sind 50 km gefahren und waren einfach nur enttäuscht. Da hat ein guter Döner mehr Geschmacksrichtungen.

Lovely food, lovely people. Went there for a couple of family dinners and picked up some food a couple of times. We had an experience of outstanding customer service when we got there on a busy Friday night with two tired kids and ordered take out. My tired and hungry daughter had a breakdown after a busy day and we decided to wait outside. We got some delicious lassi on the house which helped our youngest to calm down nicely and the food was ready super quickly. This is what I call family friendly. Thank you :)

Today will have been my last visit. I used to visit here regularly, but since the summer of 2022, the quality of the food has been declining rapidly. Especially the quality of the meat is now atrocious. I had ordered Lamb Korma, which had pieces of meat that tasted nothing like lamb anymore, but had a somewhat spoiled or rotten flavour to them, very similar to meat which had been stored in the freezer too long. I cannot tell with certainty the reason for this, but i know that fresh lamb neither has the dark colour nor the weird funky aftertaste that what i was served had. In a somewhat surprising anticipatory fashion, the waiter instantly came up to the table after the first few bites and i felt quite embarassed to tell him of my disappointment with the quality of the meat. As if it was a regular complaint, he immediately offered to switch out the dish for the same sauce with chicken instead. The chicken also tasted quite bland and long past its best, and had most likely been boiled in plain water shortly before having been added to the sauce. Even the sauce was nothing special. I am far from a professional chef, but i could have probably done a better job than this at home. Very sad to say, but save your money and go elsewhere.

Waren hier mit Freunden. Schneller Service, Gerichte waren alle super lecker. Tischreservierung empfehlenswerte- es war voll (Freitag Abend) und daher der Geräuschpegel hoch. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Der Essen ist sehr gut, der Service ist ebenfalls gut. Nettes Personal und kleine Sonderwünsche werden auch erfüllt. Die Gerichte sind sehr groß teilweise, übriges Essen kann eingepackt werden. Geschmacklich wurde ich noch nie enttäuscht es schmeckt extrem gut und die Gerichte sind nicht scharf, außer man möchte es natürlich scharf haben :) Brot und Reis als Beilage werden immer gereicht und das ebenfalls in großer Menge. Man sollte auf jeden Fall reservieren, da einen Platz zu bekommen nicht leicht ist.

Unglaublich leckeres Essen, sehr nette Bedienung! Was uns allerdings sehr gestört hat, war die viel zu laute Popmusik, die auch auf unsere Bitte hin nicht leiser gemacht wurde. Schade! Für mich ein Grund, dort nicht mehr hinzugehen, trotz des wirklich fantastischen Essens.

Essen ist sehr lecker. Ambiente ist okay. Nichts besonderes, aber mir geht es eh vorwiegend um guten Service und gutes Essen. Beides wurde erfüllt. Der Chef des Hauses ist sehr angenehm und sympathisch. Essen ist sehr ausgiebig, schmeckt sehr gut und ist preislich vollkommen im Rahmen, von daher ist Preis-Leistung sehr empfehlenswert. Gerne wieder.

Prompte Bedienung, präsenter Inhaber, kurze Wartezeit, aufmerksam für Nachbestellung. Kinderfreundlich. Reichliche Portionen (Rest für daheim!), verträgliche Schärfe. Moderate Getränkepreise. Sehr guter Bordeaux! Lage zwischen Hauptverkehrsstraße und Hinterhofparkplatz ist nicht gerade idyllisch, aber Hinterterrasse ist ruhig. Drinnen ohnehin schön eingerichtet. Wir hatten auch schon TakeAway, hatten dabei den gleichen (guten) Eindruck. Kommen gerne wieder!

Für mich das beste indische Restaurant. Das Essen ist immer lecker, egal für welches Gericht man sich entscheidet. Das Ambiente ist toll und da immer viel los ist, sollte man vorher besser reservieren. Der Service ist aufmerksam und freundlich. Was will man mehr :)

Super. Ich liebe das Chicken jalfrezi, Chicken korma und Sag Murgh (Chicken mit Spinat). Der beste Inder den ich kenne, habe schon viele ausprobiert, komme aber immer wieder hier her zurück.

Der Chef ist ein Hauklotz, der seine Gäste in die Küche zum essen verbannen will. Nach dem ich das Lokal betreten habe, habe ich gefragt wo ich mich hinsetzen kann insgesamt 4 Personen. Die Antwort war ich könnte mir eine Tisch aussuchen was ich den auch getan habe. (Lokal war zu 10 % gefüllt 90 % leer an einem Sonntag mittag) Der Tisch hatte aber 6 Stühle als gemäß dem Chef des Ladens 2 Stühle zu viel, mit dem er dann keinen Umsatz machen konnte. Er forderte mich dann auf einen anderen Tisch zu nutzen, ich sagte Ihm hier ist mehr Licht deshalb möchte ich hier sitzenbleiben. Danach wurde der Chef frech und fragte mich ob ich in der Küche essen wollte ?? Er wollte also jeden Stuhl verkaufen um mehr Umsatz machen zu können, und das bei einer Auslastung von 10 % und 90 % des Lokals war leer. Also er bestimmt in seinem Wohnzimmer, was Sie als Gast hier dürfen und was nicht. Sie haben im Zweifel zu zahlen und den Mund zu halten. Noch Fragen. Leute es gibt viele Lokale in Bensheim und Umgebung. Wer Niveau will sollte woanders hingehen.
