Il Tartufo in Mannheim

We went there for lunch on a weekday. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was okay. The salad was tasty, and the main course was a large portion, but unfortunately, the taste was rather average. It was barely seasoned and seemed to have been thrown together. The nice amuse-bouche from the kitchen couldn't improve things. The salad tomatoes were almost white, so they weren't high quality... Unfortunately, I can't recommend it!

We simply wanted to grab a bite to eat in the evening, without a reservation, on our way from the Palatinate to Swabia. And then: a very friendly welcome. Very attentive service. A very appealing menu. Very delicious dishes (we had Venetian calf's liver and pasta with porcini mushrooms) at reasonable prices. And the whole ambiance – like being in Italy. Mille grazie!

An absolute disaster! I've truly never experienced anything like it. The carbonara was a disgrace – the bacon tasted like it had been bathed in old frying oil, and the sauce was simply overcooked and tasteless. This had nothing to do with Italian cuisine. The soup was also inedible – watery, bland, and simply disgusting. For an "Italian restaurant," a total disappointment. Never again!

I celebrated my birthday at the restaurant and I couldn't have chosen a better place! Excellent quality food, a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, and a truly lovely family who makes you feel at home. Everything was perfect, from the atmosphere to the attention to detail. Highly recommended!

I celebrated a birthday party at this restaurant, eating a truffle risotto and ribs. They were amazing and I really recommend this restaurant.

There are places you experience with your palate even before your eyes. "Il Tartufo" is more than just a restaurant: it's a journey into the heart of taste, where every dish is a caress and every bite a poem scented with earth and magic. Wonderful family, super hospitality, exceptional food.

The atmosphere was fantastic, and the restaurant manager was incredibly welcoming. He even treated me to a shower of black truffles, which are famous here. The tiramisu was also incredibly authentic. The restaurant manager's family is Italian, making it a truly authentic Italian restaurant.

This was the best restaurant I've tried in Mannheim, an Italian family business. The chef is truly passionate about food and truffles, and the entire staff was very welcoming and accomodating. Very good prices as well! Will come again.

A little piece of Italy with the scent of truffles! The Il Tartufo restaurant is a true paradise for truffle lovers. The pizzas al tartufo, in particular, are simply heavenly – crispy crusts, the finest cheese, and that incomparable truffle aroma that fills the entire room. Every bite is a delight that tastes of Italy! The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is warm, elegant, and typically Italian – you immediately feel welcome. The wine selection is also excellent and perfectly rounds off the experience. In short: Il Tartufo is not just a restaurant, but a place where you fall in love with Italian cuisine. I'll definitely be back – maybe even to enjoy another pizza al tartufo!

This was our first time at Il Tartufo and we were absolutely thrilled. Attentive service, fantastic food, and all in a rustic yet chic setting. The value for money is simply spot on. If you like truffles, you'll definitely get your money's worth here, but there are also plenty of alternatives to choose from. We'll definitely be back. Thanks for the great evening!

Incredible dinner, we had a Parmigiana di melanzane, two pastas and a tiramisu. Paid less than 80 eur (between 2) for an amazing dinner. Unfortunately i didnt take pictures of the pasta, but the carbonara was from another world!! Amazing!! Super nice enviroment and service😊😊

We ordered two pizzas. One of them had a lot of hair on it... see pictures. We contacted the lady. She was very rude and refused to refund us, only wanting to send us a new pizza. Unfortunately, we lost our appetite. Very poor customer service.

Simply the best Italian restaurant in Mannheim. A wonderful selection with fantastic, creative, and always unusual daily specials. Lovingly and picturesquely presented, and the taste is second to none 👌 A must for truffle fans, but even those who don't like or need truffles are sure to find something to their liking!! The chef and his wife are so welcoming that you feel truly appreciated.

I visited Tartufo for the first time today and had the lunch menu. Starter: cream of mushrooms with truffles. Main course: parpardelle with a delicate butter sauce, also with truffles. Dessert: a small ice cream. Everything tasted very, very good. And the price: €9.99 is unbeatable.

The food is truly excellent and highly recommended, but unfortunately, the ambiance doesn't match the quality of the food and the high prices. We would love for this restaurant to continue to thrive, but currently we have the impression that it's declining. The interior is dated, the outdoor area is unfortunately very poorly designed, and the service is very slow. Initially, there was a larger selection – now the menu is much smaller. Additionally, there used to be a welcome drink from the kitchen, but on our last visit, there was only bread…

Wir fangen gleich mal an mit dem Lokal. Alleine der Name lässt eigentlich viel hoffen, aber leider ist dem nicht so. In dem Lokal ist es kalt und überhaupt nicht einladend von der Optik. Ich hatte ein Rindertatar mit Trüffeln und das war mit Abstand das schlechteste was ich je gegessen habe. Das Tatar selbst hatte die Konsistenz von einer feinen Leberwurst, was absolut schrecklich war. Dann außen herum lauter größere Pestotupfen oder ähnliches, was überhaupt nicht zu einem Tatar gehört und auch nicht passt. Die Pasta war in Ordnung und hatte eine gute Portion. Dann hatten wir noch das klassische Bruschetta. Auch hier ein blasses, leicht getoastete Baguette, die Tomaten waren eigentlich gar nicht angemacht also ohne Basilikum oder ähnliches und darauf wurden einfach große Rucolablätter gelegt und große Scheiben an Parmesan. Sobald man ist das Bruschetta dann versucht hat rein zu beißen ist natürlich der Rucuola (was meines Erachtens nichts auf einem Bruschetta zu suchen hat) und die großen Platten an Parmesan erst mal runter gefallen. Wenn schon Parmesan, dann gehört dieser darauf gehobelt. Der Name wird dem Lokal leider überhaupt nicht gerecht und die Preise sind total überzogen.

The bread was incredibly tasty and still nice and warm. The pasta was amazing and the sauce was fantastic! The service was attentive and friendly! The other dishes on the menu sound good too! We'd love to come back!

This has been my favorite Italian restaurant since today! Here, small but perfectly formed is what counts! The food, including various desserts, was a dream for all of us, both in terms of taste and appearance! The drinks were wonderfully delicious, and the service was unobtrusive, friendly, and personable. We were well looked after and had a long and delicious evening for a good price. We'll definitely be back!

Young chef who wants to show his best. Unfortunately, this all takes far too long. Ordered a starter and a main course. The main course came before the starter. We waited an hour for the main course to arrive. Unfortunately the price performance is not right here. Unfortunately, the service is not quite as attentive as it should be. Reedit: The owner responded to my comment. Firstly, I am a Bella and not a Bello. Secondly, this is not how you handle criticism. But constructive. Then your staff didn't tell him that we got the main course before the starter. And no, if the restaurant is almost empty, I don't wait an hour for a starter or a meal 🙂 I've already tested a few restaurants and the difference is that in really well-organized restaurants, everything from service to kitchen really works. When there's a lot going on, I'm the last person to say something if it takes longer. If there are two other tables besides me. Nobody wants you harm here, but honest recessions should be taken seriously.

Very nice little Italian restaurant with very good food.

The food tasted good. However, the ravioli were only lukewarm. The additional toppings on the pizza should cost 2 euros. Unfortunately, I was charged 3-3.50 euros each for shrimp, calamari and anchovies. When asked, the boss came out of the kitchen and tried to explain in a not entirely friendly way and then abruptly ended the conversation. We were also brought the wrong drink, which was then exchanged. Unfortunately the drink was then charged twice. It can happen! True ! Said to be the “best cuisine in the region”.

Update: we were planning on eating there this week. There is no response to calls, so we made reservations via the homepage. There was no confirmation. This is weak, we will refrain from future visits. ---------------- If you look through the menu, you could talk about an ambitious Italian. The “whole” is sobering on site, a normal restaurant. A well-known pop singer was singing in the background, unfortunately the name didn't mean anything to me when the two sisters announced the star singer. I ordered Paccherie Carbonara. The noodles are known in Germany as salt-eaters (they need 3x as much salt as normal spaghetti), but the young chef did a good job. The pasta had a great bite, but I missed the crunch and the creaminess. I also had to add more salt, but with caution, but I still remember the excellent bacon fried in the pan. As a greeting from the kitchen there was a vegetable minestrone with unfortunately overcooked vegetables, but overall it was okay. But we will definitely come back.

Wenn man schon am Eingang ein großes Schild mit der Aufschrift liest "Nur Barzahlung", wird man nachdenklich. Hier wird also rigoros gespart (oder Schlimmeres). Und das, obwohl, wie der Name nahelegt, teure Trüffelgerichte im Angebot sind. Als zweites fällt auf, dass nicht der geringste Trüffelduft in der Luft liegt. Erst als eine Bruschetta mit Trüffeln vorbeigetragen wird, erhascht man einen vagen Eindruck des seltenen Pilzes. Aber da muss man schon eine sehr gute Nase haben. Wir haben dasselbe bestellt, und fanden es gar nicht schlecht. Dafür, dass es 16 Euro kostet (fünf Scheibchen Brot), lagen aber dann doch sehr wenige Trüffelspäne drauf. Doch was ist die schwarze Masse darunter? Kaum herauszuschmecken. Wenn man die Bedienung etwas fragt, muss sie erst selbst in der Küche nachfragen. Sie hat offenbar keine Ahnung, was sie ihren Gästen serviert. Wir erfahren: Trüffelkaviar. Eine molekularbiologische Zubereitung (Hightech) mit Trüffelessenz (künstlich und mit anderen Zutaten). Ich hätte eher auf Olivenpaste oder Zwiebel oder Algen getippt. Ein Trüffelgeschmack war jedenfalls nicht auszumachen. Überhaupt der Trüffel: Er ist fest und dunkel, nach Angaben der Bedienung 'echt italienisch', ein Tuber Melanosporum also. Doch unser Trüffel hat anstatt einer Marmorierung sehr weiße Punkte, die sich über das ganze Innere verteilen. Also doch nicht echt italienisch? Oder nur zu lange und/oder falsch gelagert? Der stechende Ammoniakgeruch, der vom Trüffel ausgeht, legt eine Überlagerung nahe. Schließlich ist so ein Pilz nicht billig und muss halten. Doch ein alter Trüffel ist kein geschmackliches Vergnügen und kann sogar gesundheitsschädlich sein. Nächster Test: die Pizza (29 Euro !). Der Teig ist ganz ok. Der Belag besteht, außer Tomaten und Käse, aus italienischer Salsiccia und natürlich Trüffel, diesmal reichlich. Eine klassische Fenchelsalsiccia, die allerding zum einem Trüffel wie die Faust aufs Auge passt. Wer kommt denn auf eine solche Idee? Fazit: Mit echtem Trüffel auf die Schnelle Geld machen, ist gar nicht so leicht, wie man denkt. Der Trüffel ist nicht nur teuer, man muss damit auch umgehen können. Diese Küche ist damit offenbar hoffnungslos überfordert. Gerichte und Preise passen auch gar nicht zum Ambiente einer solchen einfachen Pizzeria. Die Einrichtung ist karg (einfache Holztische). Es ist zugig und laut. Kinder toben herum, junge Frauen lachen und kreischen. Eigentlich eine einfache Familienpizzeria. Durchaus sympathisch. Ändert doch Euren Namen und lasst die Trüffel weg. Oder serviert den Tartufo, die 'echt italienische' Nachspeise mit schwarzer oder weißer Schokolade. Ich kann dieses Lokal nicht empfehlen, zumindest nicht, wenn man Trüffel essen will. Einen substantiellen Gegenwert konnte ich für die aufgerufenen stolzen Preise nicht erkennen.

We came here very spontaneously for lunch! The service was very friendly and the lunch menu that was offered to us (we were quite late) was excellent! The salad was well dressed. The pasta with salsicce was excellently tossed in butter, herbs and parmesan. Dessert was an almond parfait You can hardly do it better. We will definitely come again.

The food was very tasty but far too little and I waited forever. quite expensive for the quantity.

I was there for the second time. I was disappointed the first time because I had to wait forever for the food. Even though my parents and I were the only ones in the restaurant. So I wanted to give it another chance. I have to say that I had to wait forever for the food again. Although there was hardly any activity. We ordered two noodle dishes. My portion was terribly small. This could possibly pass as a children's portion. My partner's wasn't much bigger either. I also had to pay an additional €3 for handmade noodles. I was told ok. But then I also expect a larger portion. Well, conclusion: we won't go there anymore. We politely told the waitress our opinion. But I don't think anyone was interested.

It takes a lot for me to give a bad rating in "my" district. Been there 3 times - 3 times a disaster. One star for the worst food I've ever had in a restaurant and the clueless waitresses is way too high a rating, but less is not possible here. There isn't enough space here to describe everything. NO MORE!

A real culinary win for Neckarau!!! No matter whether it's an event with a multi-course menu or 'just' dinner: I've been there four times and loved it four times. Be sure to keep it up!!! Addendum: Our house guest likes Italian food - so it was clear that our favorite restaurant, Tartufo, would be the destination! But I was a little tense, because the guest is a chef himself and not without demands... What can I say? He was enthusiastic about every course and would come here again at any time!!! For those interested: there was carpaccio, melanzane, grilled pulpo (spicy!) and one of the great pizzas.

Freundliche telefonische Reservierung, herzlicher Empfang, leicht zugiger Tisch in Eingangsnaehe. Vorweg unspektakulaerer Beilagensalat mit Fertigdressing und zweimal Pizza.- auf die mussten wir sage und schreibe eine Stunde und fuenfundvierzig Minuten warten. Die Pizza selbst war ok, aber keineswegs der Zubereitungszeit angemessen. Wiederholungsfaktor eher gegen 0-schade!

We ordered 3 meals today. Among other things, 1 Scallopine Gorgonzola. To put it simply, this was a disaster... The food was smaller than some starters in other restaurants. The supplement was absolutely not sufficient. The food was quite cold and tasted rather neutral… When I asked, I was told that these were the restaurant's normal portions. If that's the case, I won't eat here again. What a shame!

Mit die beste Pizza, die ich je gegessen habe.

Wir waren bisher vier mal da und ich habe einige Male Pizza zum mitnehmen bestellt. Immer lecker und freundlich. Eine Bereicherung für Neckarau.

Die Pizza hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Man hat die besonders frischen Tomaten von der Pizzasosse rausschmecken können. Der Gruß aus der Küche war ebenso sehr lecker. Mein persönliches Highlight war die Foccacia. Die hat grandios geschmeckt und war zudem warm! Das Personal war auch sehr freundlich.

Wollten ein schönes Weihnachtsfest mit der Familie dort Feiern doch das ging nicht durch diese Gründe 1.Essen hat ewig gedauert bis es kam saßen ca. 5 Stunden dort 2.Wir bestellen Einen Wein der Preis von dem Wein wurde uns nicht gesagt später bekommen wir die Rechnung für den Wein pro Wein 300€ absolute Frechheit Nicht zu Empfehlen!

Waren am 25.12. zum Weihnachtsessen im Il Tartufo. Das Ambiente war sehr lieblos. Die Tische waren nicht schön eingedeckt (lediglich Besteck und Serviette, nichtmal eine Tischdecke) und das Servicepersonal überfordert. Es gab ein Menü im Angebot für 85€ pro Person exkl. Getränke. Das Essen war nicht herausragend. Kleine Portionen und nicht dem Preis gerechtfertigt. Wir haben ewig auf die einzelnen Gänge gewartet. Wir hatten irgendwann überhaupt keinen Appetit mehr. Insgesamt waren wir über 4 Stunden in diesem Restaurant durch die langen Wartezeiten und dies obwohl wir die einzigen Gäste an diesem Tag waren. Es wurde während den Wartezeiten nichtmal gefragt, ob noch Getränke benötigt werden. Die Bedienung wirkte sehr desinteressiert. Und jetzt kam noch der Höhepunkt. Uns wurde ein Wein zu diesem Menü empfohlen, dessen Empfehlung wir nachgekommen sind. Der Wein war durchschnittlich. Am Ende, als wir endlich zahlen konnten (wir hatten eine halbe Stunde auf die Rechnung gewartet), kam der Schock. 300€ pro Weinflasche. Wir wurden in keiner Weise darüber in Kenntnis gesetzt. Leider auch kein Einsehen auf Seiten des Restaurants. Schade! Da fühlt man sich hintergangen! Nie wieder Il Tartufo! Ich kann nur jedem von diesem Restaurant abraten.

Wir waren hier im Sommer 2023 zum ersten Mal und prompt wurde 'Il Tartufo' unser Lieblingsitaliener in Mannheim und der Region. Und wir reden hier nicht von einer Pizzeria sondern von einem italienischen Restaurant das sich vor Niemandem verstecken muss. Hervorragendes Essen, tolle napolitanische Pizzen, hausgemachte Pasta, erstklassige Zutaten und rundum abgeschmeckte Gerichte. Trüffelgerichte die ihren Geschmack vom Trüffel (wird vor deinen Augen auf das Essen gerieben) und nicht vom Öl haben. Jakobsmuscheln die sowohl in Qualität als auch in der Menge schwer in einem anderen Restaurant zu finden sind. Parmesansoßen die wirklich und ernsthaft aus Parmesan sind und sich nicht etwa als irgendwelche Sahnesoßen entpuppen. Sogar die Nachspeisen wie zum Beispiel das Scholosoufflet werden direkt frisch gemacht. Hier ist eine junge Familie am Kochtopf, die wirklich Spaß und Freude an gutem, italienischem Essen hat und diesen Spaß mit den Gästen teilen möchte. Bravo. Wenn ihr Lust auf ganz tolles Essen habt, tut euch den Gefallen und kommt hier her.

Positiv: 1.) Essen war gut bis sehr gut 2.) Bedienung war sehr nett Negativ: 1.) Wartezeit unfassbar lange, obwohl nur drei weitere Tische im Restaurant belegt waren. Wir hatten zwei Pizzen und ein Nudelgericht und mussten darauf 1 Stunde und 20 Minuten warten. 2.) Innenraum wenig beheizt und daher ziemlich kühl.

Das beste italienische Restaurant in der Gegend. Toller Service - der Koch und Besitzer serviert sogar manche Gerichte persönlich am Tisch und man merkt ihm richtig die Leidenschaft für sein Essen an. Das Essen schmeckt wirklich fantastisch und ist reichlich. Es gibt ein paar tolle Weine zur Auswahl (auch hier berät der Besitzer gerne). In manchen Kommentaren wird angemerkt, dass man etwas länger auf das Essen warten muss. Das stimmt auch, aber wenn wir essen gehen sind wir ja nicht auf der Flucht und wollen gemütlich zusammen sitzen. Deshalb macht uns dies gar nichts aus. Also, einfach etwas Zeit mitbringen und das Essen und die italienische Gastfreundschaft genießen!

Zu Empfehlen sind die Speisen mit Trüffel. Sehr fein.

Lange Wartezeit und Bratkartoffeln ist eher eine einzige Quellkartoffel mit kalten Gemüse. Schade

Bestes italienisches Restaurant weit und breit! Original napolitanische Pizza, Pasta al dente. Alles fein aufeinander abgestimmt, tolle Qualität. Sehr sehr nette Besitzerfamilie :)

Sehr angenehm zu sitzen draußen. Endlich mal ein Restaurant in der heutigen Zeit bei dem die Preisgestaltung nachvollziehbar und fair ist.es und Gerichte zu jedem Preis, je nach Zeit und Warenaufwand. Ich war überrascht wie gross die Portionen sind. Bei drei geplanten Gängen, haben sich meine Begleiter gefreut, aber ich möchte mich natürlich nicht darüber beschweren dass ich zu viel von den ganzen Köstlichkeiten auf dem Teller hatte. Es gibt eine recht grosse Trüffelkarte, wobei der Trüffel direkt am Tisch über das Gericht gerieben wird. Sepia Spagetti und Raviolis waren selbstgemacht. Der Service war sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Das Highlight war als wir drei mal die " Hausgemachte Panna Cotta" bestellt haben. Da kam der Koch oder Chef raus und präsentierte uns drei Varianten: (Karamell und karamelisierte Nüsse, selbstgemachte Kirschmarmelade und dunkle Schokolade sosse, siehe Bild). Wir waren satt und glücklich. Und es wird nicht der letzte Besuch gewesen sein

Sehr leckeres italienisches Essen und überragend freundlicher Service. Vor jedem Essen kommt ein "Gruß aus der Küche", z.B. ein Mini-Omlett. Bedienung ist sehr nett. Der Koch kommt zwischendurch persönlich vorbei und fragt, ob das Essen schmeckt. Wir waren zwei Mal da und komme gerne wieder. Sehr zu empfehlen ist die Pizza mit Parmaschinken oder mit Salsiccia, Parmesan und Rucola (siehe Foto). Lagebedingt sind Parkplätze schwer zu finden (Einbahnstraße). Für die, die weiter weg wohnen und mit dem Auto kommen: Auf dem Penny Markt Parkplatz in der Nähe finden sich immer Parkmöglichkeiten. Direkt nebenan ist der August-Bebel-Park, der zu einem Verdauungsspaziergang einlädt.

Sehr sehr leckeres, selbstgemachtes italienisches Essen! Und neben den "bekannten Varianten" auch einige Specials z.B. mit echtem italienischem Trüffel. Herzliche Belegschaft. Plätze zum draußen sitzen. Gerne wieder. Absolute Empfehlung.

Ich habe hier kürzlich gegessen und meine Erfahrung war gemischt. Zunächst musste ich ziemlich lange auf mein Essen warten, was etwas frustrierend war. Allerdings war das Essen, als es schließlich kam, wirklich köstlich und hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Leider fand ich die Preise etwas hoch, was meinen Gesamteindruck etwas getrübt hat. Insgesamt würde ich dem Restaurant 4 Sterne geben.
