Huong Lua in Berlin

Food was very good! Unfortunately no vegetarian pho. I struggled to know what to order and the waitress (Juali?) was super helpful and pointed out a great rice noodle salad that I enjoyed.

I absolutely loved this Vietnamese restaurant! The food was simply delicious, especially the Sot Xoai Tempura (No. 48) was an absolute highlight - a taste experience that I won't soon forget. The drinks were also excellent. But not only was the food good, the service was also first class. The staff was friendly, attentive and made sure I felt completely comfortable. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back!

The Huong Lua absolutely convinced me! The Strawberry Mosquito was already a hit – a drink that exactly suited my taste. But that was just the beginning, because the new dish Bun Cha La Lot was also simply delicious. The price-performance ratio is simply unbeatable. Here you can get authentic, top-quality Vietnamese cuisine at fair prices. Gladly again!

I loved looking for pho in Europe, and this place and some places in Barcelona were the best... The soup was really deep. And the duck meat curry goes well with the moderately crispy meat and curry. It's a bit pricey, but it's friendly enough and delicious.

The starters (summer rolls) and the main course (red curry) were simply delicious. The service was very friendly and answered my questions well. As a drink I had the Mosquito with strawberry (without alcohol). They don't have any alcohol but everything else was GREAT!! 👍

Food wasn't great. Ate chicken curry with coconut sauce. Sauce was way too watery. Only German vegetables in the curry, nothing Asian, no Thai eggplant, no bamboo... that could be better.

The dish didn't contain any of the ingredients that were mentioned in the name of the dish. It was not tasty and the portion was small. The price was way too high for that. But the staff was friendly.

We ordered the food and waited for 15 minutes. The food of everyone who came slower than us was served. We couldn’t help but check and found that the food was not even cooked😡😡

Update meiner Bewertung vom November 2022: Huong Lua hat nach wie vor sehr gutes und schön präsentiertes Essen. Das Problem, dass dort kein Bier oder Wein angeboten wird, ist allerdings immer noch nicht gelöst. Den Vorwand (nur eine Toilette, daher sei Ausschank von Alkohol behördlich untersagt...), den mir der Saalchef dafür präsentiert hat, habe ich inzwischen überprüft: es gibt in Berlin keine solche Vorschrift, die den Ausschank von alkoholischen Getränken an die Anzahl der Toiletten knüpfen würde. Ergo: hier handelt es sich wohl um eine ideologie Entscheidung des Restaurantinhabers. Egal welcher Art: so etwas sieht der Gast nicht so gerne, in einer freien Gesellschaft, wo jeder selbst entscheiden darf, ob er Alkohol trinkt oder nicht.

Nice authentic pho. Was sad that there was no hoisin sauce or meatball pho but still was delicious!

Best pho in Berlin. The pho broth seems made from beef bone, and has a rich flavor! I finished the soup completely. Not a drop left.😌

We had a wonderful experience! The food was excellent, high-quality, fresh, and delicious. The staff were polite and attentive as well. The only downside was a burnt oil smell, which I assume could be improved with better ventilation. Overall, though, we enjoyed a great dinner with good value for money and perfectly sized portions.

I checked in at the attractions and stopped by to eat something nearby. I saw that this restaurant had good reviews, so I ordered Tom Yum Soup Noodles and fried pork dumplings. The fried dumplings tasted good, and they were paired with dipping sauce, which had a hint of mango taste, which was very refreshing. Tom Yum Soup Noodles was recommended by someone so I ordered it, but it’s not too authentic and I don’t recommend it. The cream tastes too strong and the taste of Tom Yum Noodles is very light. The garnishes are carrots and cucumbers, which is not the authentic Tom Yum Soup Noodles. It lacks lemongrass, etc. , it is a soup blended with ingredients, so it is not recommended to try it.

Nice Vietnamese restaurant. I very like that their veggies are fresh are perfectly cooked. The Summer Rolls as starters are simply delicious! Especially the peanut sauce that accompanies them is heaven! The flavor of the veggie soup is great! Same of the lemon grass tea. My friends had Vit Kürbis (Red curry with pumpkin and duck) and Vit Spargel (Green Curry with asparagus and duck). They liked it but mentioned that it was nothing extraordinary. What I am missing is the presentation of the food. The tea cups and the bowl of the soup are not helpful in transmitting the Vietnamese vibes. Also the food is missing some details in the presentation which could surely make the restaurant benefit. Therefore I discounted 2 stars from the atmosphere. Sorry if I might be harsh but I have high food standards and already had some extraordinary Vietnamese food experiences. Nevertheless a good choice if you are looking for value for money.

I am puzzled as to how this restaurant rates so highly. We were there this week, always be wary when you can’t smell food being cooked!!! The food turns up about 10 seconds after you order it, absolutely no way it’s cooked fresh. We had the chicken skewers to start, they were clearly prepared earlier and reheated, chicken was so tough. Then we ordered two soups, these were just lacking in basic flavour of Asian cuisine. Very disappointed. Plus the two drinks we ordered which were €3.50 each were flat. Would not recommend.

Ate dinner here on a Wednesday night in November 2024 (6pm). The restaurant was quite empty when we arrived and the waitstaff was very attentive. They do not sell alcohol but have a selection of homemade drinks. I got the red curry with chicken and it was excellent. The chicken was very tender and the vegetables were cooked just right. The broccoli was the best. I asked for very spicy and it was mild (in my opinion). If you like spicy food don’t be afraid to ask for more spice. Wife got the Bun Nam Saigon salad (not spicy) and she said hers was just right. We planned to use the credit card but waiter requested cash so plan accordingly. Noise level was low so we could converse. Restaurant was very busy when we left. Really enjoyed this meal!

Great location and very tasty food. I ordered a red Thai curry and it was a bit too sweet for my taste. Still tasty, and the duck was very crispy. The mango lassi was a bit too liquid, but also very tasty. The ambiance was cosy and service was really fast. The only thing that bothered me is that they took our plates out before we finished our food without asking previously, but it was almost over anyways. Nonetheless I think it’s a nice restaurant and would definitely come back.

Nos alojamos cerca y decidimos parar en. Pequeño lugar muy acogedor con una buena selección. El servicio fue súper eficiente -desde entrar hasta tener comida delante de nosotros tomó menos de 15 minutos! - y no puede culpar a la calidad de la comida por el precio que pagamos. No es el restaurante más emocionante en el que hemos estado, pero muy agradable, buena comida de calidad a precios razonables.

Just ate here about 10 mins ago. Nice little spot, with a good atmosphere and great food. Everyone was extremely nice as well. Food came out fairly quick, hot, and fresh. I don't eat Vietnamese often, but it was definitely up there in flavor. If you're staying at the hilton, I would highly suggest going here to eat.

Ordered a noodle dish and a rice dish, both were sweet. The rice one especially, it came with a sauce that was so sugary sweet that we struggled to finish it. Staffs were nice, environment was cute, unfortunately the food wasn’t that pleasant.

Berlin is full of amazing Vietnamese places but this is not one of them. The pho tasted of salty water, and the noodle dishes we had were drenched in hoisin sauce,tasting so sweet it was almost inedible.

The Huong Lua restaurant is beautifully and comfortably furnished, and the acoustics are still good even when the tables are occupied. The food was beautifully presented and the individual components were well cooked, but unfortunately the dish itself was quite bland. The employees were very polite, the waiting times were a bit long, but still reasonable.

Curry chicken tasted great. Unfortunately, no card payment under 20EUR is accepted. I was immediately told to withdraw money without issuing an invoice first. In the end the bill was probably 18 euros - I could have paid 20 euros with a tip with a card. So it would be great to get a bill first before forcing customers to go to the ATM

Aunque la carta no es muy variada, los platos que hay estan riquisimos. Otra cosa a destacar sin las cantidades que el plato puede valer 12€ pero a mi me dio una sopa para comer y cenar asi que recomiendo 100% me encanto

There are many Vietnamese restaurants in Berlin, but I definitely recommend this one. The staff are very friendly, the store is clean, and the food is very clean and delicious. During lunch time, only the lunch menu is available, so if you're looking for pho, you may be a bit disappointed, but the lunch menus are all so delicious that you don't have to worry about them.

Completely fantastically enjoyable, with authentic and mega delicious snacks for everyone in the company - even the children loved it. Well, I wish we had something similar in the UK. The service was also top notch - they were so accommodating and friendly and made a very special dish for the mother-in-law who thought the original was too strong. In addition to this, it was really cheap. Best recommendations from here

Very authentic, delicious food! We were there for lunch, where unfortunately there was a somewhat small menu. All meat/tofu dishes are possible. There was a free 0.2l drink with the rice and daily specials! Nice outdoor area, relatively quiet and not directly on Friedrichstrasse. Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for our drinks and food. But the prices are top. Very worth it!! We'll be back

Delicious dinner at Huong Lua. Everything is fresh and extremely tasty. We were sorry that no slightly alcoholic drinks were served, but we had a really delicious meal!

Got in by accident, and what a fortunate one! Ordered the lunch menu, Crispy duck is amazing, spicy ramen soup was wey beyond. Portions are large, come with special drinks. And that’s just the food… Service was great, ordered quickly, got the food quickly, everyone has a huge smile, and the place is full. Value for money…the quality and taste are on the marker. Im used to paying double for food not half as good. Definitely recommend paying a visit.

I remember having a good meal a year ago, so I came back this time, but it was a bad choice. As my husband took a bite of the Summer Rolls that came out first, two long strands of hair came out from inside the roll. We told them to take this food off the menu because we couldn't eat it anymore. (I was embarrassed and in a bad mood so I didn't take a picture because I thought I had to talk quickly) I thought about just leaving, but I thought it would be a mistake, and since we had a hard day, we ended up eating the Crispy Spicy Duck and Pho as our main menu. I couldn't believe my eyes after two bites of Pho. Another strand of hair came out (picture attached). When I brought up this issue, they only asked me if they would serve the food again and didn't even say a word of apology. I felt like I couldn't eat any more so I decided to stop eating and just paid for my drink and left. It's not bad, but I don't think I'll ever come back again because I can't trust the hygiene of the food. I think this will remain my worst memory in Berlin. I remember eating deliciously last year, so I visited again this time. But now I changed my mind :( My husband and I ordered Summer Rolls, Crispy Spicy Duck and Pho. My husband took a bite of the Summer Rolls that came out first, and he realized that there were two long strands of hair inside of the roll. We told them, and asked them to take this food off the menu because we couldn’t eat it anymore. (I couldn’t take the picture because I thought I should tell them quickly because I was flustered and in a bad mood.) We were just thinking about leaving, but we didn’t. Because we had a hard time today, and we were very tired. So we thought this happen may have been a mistake. but that was a big mistake. We had the main menu, Crispy Spicy Duck and Pho. They just asked if they would serve the food again or how they would do it, but they never say sorry. We said them we couldn't eat anymore, and stopped eating, and just paid for the drink we had. It’s not tasteless, but I can’t trust the hygiene of the food, so I’ll never go again. I think it will remain my worst memory in Berlin..

Good lunch options, delicious food and a relaxed atmosphere. The service is also great. There is also an outside seat for the warmer months. Love going here for lunch. The duck tastes particularly interesting here. Completely different than in the other stores.

A really authentic and superb Vietnamese restaurant right in the heart of Berlin. It exceeded our expectations and we were delighted by the quality of the food. We were tired of eating European food by the time we got to Germany so having a familiar cuisine is always a nice change. The staff were really friendly and attentive and the tip I gave was well deserved. Thank you so much! :)

+ Nettes Personal - Speisen schmecken durchschnittlich, Soße wie Wasser so dünn. Keinen einzigen Wein/ ganzer Laden führt keinen Alkohol Karte klebt an den Händen, schon etwas eklig. Also alles in Allem: wir waren enttäuscht und staunen über die tollen Bewertungen… für uns geschmacklich nicht nachvollziehbar… und wir waren zu 4, heißt jeder hatte ein anders Essen. Keins konnte wirklich punkten. Der Laden wirkt schmuddelig. Schade ..

It was pretty much the best meal in Berlin. A chilled mango salad with peanuts first, then the PHO soup with glass noodles and beef was a delight, followed by Vietnamese iced coffee for dessert, all at reasonable prices.
