Hungarica in Erfurt

The food was very good. They served typical Hungarian dishes. The staff was very friendly and child-friendly. The ambiance was very modern. Those looking for a traditional Hungarian atmosphere will be disappointed. There is no parking available. Nevertheless, we will come back.

We went for dinner, full of anticipation thanks to the good reviews. Unfortunately, our expectations were significantly dampened. The service was okay, but there was a fruit fly problem at our table, so we constantly had to watch our drinks to make sure they didn't land in them. The appetizers were good, but nothing special. The dumplings were tasteless, and the paprika chicken had no paprika flavor at all. I don't know what kind of sauce it was, and the chicken was still quite tough. Therefore, it was a rather disappointing visit for us.

We went here for dinner on November 8th, based on personal recommendations and the reviews here. Food: Excellent. Very tasty and attractively presented. Service: A real disappointment that evening. We waited 20 minutes before our order was even taken. We asked three times to light the candle on the table. The third time, we were told that they didn't have a lighter and that the other server had also run out. Luckily, the other server didn't know this and lit it for us. We then had to wait almost 30 minutes for the bill, and it only arrived after we asked for it a second time. There was no thank you or goodbye when we left the restaurant. Perhaps we just picked a bad night. There were two large groups in the restaurant and only two servers. Making the other guests feel like they were bothering them is not good service. Because the food was good, we will come again. Perhaps the service will be as described in other reviews.

We watched the Tan Caglar show. The Turk uses a wheelchair. The show was great, the venue and food were okay, prices were slightly above average (60% mark).

The food arrived after 1.5 hours, but that didn't bother us. And culinarily speaking, it was truly the best Hungarian food I have ever eaten.

The name says it all. It was my first time at this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised. Pleasant ambiance, very friendly service, and the food was delicious 😋 I highly recommend it. It certainly won't be my last visit.

The conditions are unfriendly, and the room is very hot. Nevertheless, the garlic soup makes up for a lot of things.

The food is very good. Be careful, the owner seems to have bad hearing. Even though you order a small portion, you get a large one. If you point this out, you're told that's what was ordered. The owner then denies it, even though all the guests confirm it. But the music is incredibly stupid; apparently, the owner wanted to scare us away. 🤔 Even the question of whether he could at least turn the music down was answered in the negative. You can do that as a restaurateur, but you don't have to like it as a guest.

Very friendly service and super delicious food. We went there twice. We sat outside both evenings. It's right on a street where the tram and a few cars still pass by in the evening, but that didn't bother us. Plus, you have a lovely view of the adjacent park.

A few days ago, we went for Hungarian food again. Hungarian cuisine is delicious and offers more than just cauldron goulash and paprika. The langos dumplings were absolutely amazing, and Hungarian wine is always a delight.

The restaurant is an insider tip! It's rather unassuming from the outside and faces stiff competition from other nearby restaurants, but the food is completely homemade, authentic, and absolutely delicious. I'm thrilled.

Eating like you're at home in Hungary. Great ambiance and a very wide selection. The quality of the food is impressive at every moment. Very good Hungarian food. I had a leg of lamb, tender as butter. Only the pear schnapps, supposedly Hungarian, had distinct aromas of nail polish remover. Disgusting. For €6. Never ever!

Delicious food in a rather simple setting. Friendly staff and a Hungarian owner. Reasonable prices. Unfortunately, there are too many plastic flowers everywhere. Don't expect your typical czarda from Balaton or Budapest. The ambiance definitely needs to be adjusted a bit. Add some music, and this would be 5 stars.

The food wasn't my taste. It was rather lightly seasoned for Hungarian cuisine. The waitress was reading a newspaper. We had to go to the counter to pay. I could see the newspaper.

We came here for dinner and were seated in front of the restaurant. There was a bit of a breeze, so it wasn't too warm. Wonderful. The menu offers a good selection of typical local dishes. There's everything from soup to meat and fish. Vegetarian dishes are also on the menu. The service was exceptional. We were served well and received our food quickly. The portions were sufficient—at least for us. We only needed a small dessert. We'd love to come back and try the rest of the menu. Thank you very much.

We went there for dinner last night, before an event at Dasdie Erfurt. We couldn't decide between the dishes. Everything on the menu was very appealing. I had the wrapped schnitzel with sour cream and cheese, and my daughter had the stuffed chicken breast with plums and feta cheese. Both dishes were delicious. I would have preferred to stay in the restaurant, but we had tickets for an event at Dasdie. I would definitely recommend it, and we'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. The drinks were also great, well chilled... And the owner served us very nicely. Full marks!!!

Two of us went there for dinner on a Thursday evening. It was incredibly delicious, and the service was just as it should be, so it's hard to understand why we were the only ones in the restaurant at around 9 p.m. We wish you continued success.

There was no Wi-Fi – but there was plenty of paprika in the bloodstream. The average age was well above that of Pilcher films – I saw more silver heads than on a 2-euro coin. But hey, it was Sunday, so you can treat yourself to goulash as a last meal. An older gentleman said "see you next week" when paying – I'm not sure if he meant that as a threat or a hope. The food? Tippi Toppi! Portions like grandma's, but without putting you in a food coma afterward. Even as a semi-asthmatic, you can manage the schnitzel without breaking out in a sweat. Everything was homemade, everything was delicious, and the paprika chicken almost brought a tear to my eye – or it was the smell of onions, I don't know. The service? Kissable! Relaxed, up for any kind of fun, but still polite enough that you'd introduce him to your mother as your new son-in-law—complete with a charming wink while pouring a pálinka. Even when my Hungarian sounded more like an Ikea assembly manual, there were smiles and no eye rolls. Bottom line: Anyone who doesn't leave here feeling full, happy, and a little bit smitten is probably a vegetarian with a humor allergy. I'll be back—hungry, hungry, and wearing a pair of retirement glasses to disguise myself.

We were in Erfurt on May 7th and we discovered the restaurant near the hotel. Since we have been to Budapest several times and are fans of Hungarian cuisine, we had dinner there. The goulash soup was really good but that was it. The Balaton schnitzel we ordered was a tasteless meat mass, but even worse was the cucumber salad that we specially ordered. An old, yellow cucumber that was cut into a salad here and we were charged 7.50 euros for it!!! Calculated! I still find that an incredible impudence and that's why I'm writing here, 4 days later. It doesn't work at all!!!

All good, nothing to say, the restrooms could be cleaner but they are shared with a theatre.

One star for the waiter boy who is nice and speaks excellent English. We went specifically to hear a Hungarian word, but the Hungarian waitress refused to even serve us. We speak German and English, but I was ashamed that she behaved like that towards her companions and we left the restaurant. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The garlic soup is hard to beat. Very crusty bread and the taste is great. The spare ribs are also the way I like them, very good smoky taste The other is a schnitzel in a potato coating with sour cream and grated cheese, with lots of garlic of course.

Service really very friendly and attentive. Immediately lit the candle at the table, asked for another drink, etc. Personally, my meal was OK and worth 3.5 stars. I had the breaded mushroom caps with fries and sauce. The mushrooms were tasty and crispy, as was the sauce... Unfortunately, the fries were cold and clearly under-fried. We were guests at Hungaria with the family on December 7th, 2024 with a reservation. We've always been used to excellent cuisine and service - the latter couldn't be surpassed in terms of shaking our heads that evening, and we weren't the only ones in the dining room. Since my family was a little late, I sat alone at the table and after 35 minutes there was no drink at the table, let alone I was asked if I wanted something to drink. When the family arrived, it took another 30 minutes before we could place a drink order with our already dry throats - which we immediately used to order starters and main courses. The constant look into the guest room showed that we were not alone. Families with toddlers and babies who had to wait just as long for drinks while the young barman stroked the glasses, played around with the tablet or looked at the interior with his arms folded. On the other hand, the other young waiter's feet were sore and he seemed to be trying hard to do everything, but he hadn't discovered the right system for himself. Tables full of glasses where new guests had to sit down because nothing had been cleared away was the sighing highlight of the evening. Dear Hungaria team - you can do better than that, then we'll be happy to stay until the ice cream pancakes because we saved that last night.

Pleasant atmosphere, nice staff. That's what the two stars are for. For vegetarians, the menu is a complete failure. There is not a single main dish worthy of the name. I had breaded mushroom caps with fries and salad, specifically nine mushrooms, a few fries, sticky tartar sauce, bland and expensive, just under 13 euros. The whole rather uncreative 'dish' looks like it comes from a large package. There are numerous alternatives in Erfurt.

Very tasty and rich food. Fantastic. Great ambience and atmosphere, nice waiter. Despite all the technical progress, I would like to question the usefulness of menus on tablets provided (5 of them on our table).

We eat there often. It's so cozy there. The service is quick and very polite. We are always enthusiastic about the food and can only recommend it. I'm really looking forward to the next time.

The restaurant officially closes on Saturday at 10 p.m. Nevertheless, we were able to place an order about 3/4 hour in advance and even order dessert shortly before. The staff is friendly and unobtrusive. The range of food on offer is clear, but there is something for every taste The portions are plentiful, love-u. tastefully prepared.

Sehr schönes authentisches Restaurant, moderne wirklich ungarische Küche. Wie geschrieben, schon etwas moderner. Nicht ganz so fettlastig wie die traditionelle ungarische Küche. Tellersprache auch sehr ansprechend. Service ist auch gut, deutsch und ungarisch sprechend. Wir waren alle zufrieden und werden auch wiederkommen.

We had a very quiet day. the waiter was very courteous and humorous. But after eating I can't understand why the shop was so empty. it was simply fabulous. I had the zander with rocket and apple and beans - a wonderful combination.
