Words almost can't describe this food! Absolutely fantastic! I ate the best Asian duck of my life. The staff was incredibly friendly. A very small restaurant with a great atmosphere! I would give it more stars if I could! Absolutely amazing!

The food was good and prepared relatively quickly. However, the service was awful. As the number of free tables dwindled, the service deteriorated. People were asked/called upon to change tables or pay early to make room for new guests. The server kept looking at us and waited until we had finished our meals. Finally, she placed fresh cutlery on our still-uncleaned table and said that it was already reserved for other guests. This was a blatant attempt to get rid of us. We're disappointed, as it's actually a pleasant restaurant with good food. However, the service completely ruined our evening there!

Two days in a row, we've eaten at this place. That says it all. Top-notch, incredible flavors, a welcoming atmosphere, you feel right at home. Thank you for the wonderful meal. And a special mention for the elegant presentation. A big THANK YOU!

• Came because of good Google reviews → huge disappointment • Only 2 tables occupied, yet over an hour wait • Sashimi with visible bits of fat and trimmings, poorly prepared • Futo Maki with very little salmon, hidden by a vegetable leaf • Dragon Roll: some avocado on top, but no salmon underneath • Part of the order was forgotten • Head chef was unfriendly and rude when complaining • Poor quality and service → not recommended

We decided to eat here at short notice and were able to easily reserve a table for four. We had incredibly delicious sushi as a starter (a great selection!) and then good Vietnamese curries and fried noodles. The wine selection is unfortunately very limited, but okay.

We had red curry with shrimps and a sushi menue. We ask for very 🔥🥵. It was!!!! The sake was good as well. Delicious food and very attentive service. All at very affordable prices. Highly recommend!

The food was expensive, but well prepared and of good quality. The boss was not very nice to us. He doesn't allow us to pay by card claiming that if it's not German, it doesn't work. This company has twice attempted to have this review removed on the grounds of defamation. The last attempt was in December 2025. The information in this review is completely true. And to elaborate on what happened, which out of respect I did not include at the time, after the shop refused to accept our British cards, I had to leave my family, leave the restaurant at night to find an ATM, withdraw the money, and return to the restaurant to pay in cash.

We are regular customers and love the food!...we prefer to eat there and enjoy it fresh...because there can sometimes be language barriers on the phone.

The gyozas were delicious and the maki/sushi were fresh. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

This is Asian food. The dishes offer an authentic Japanese flavor. The staff is very efficient and friendly. Guys and girls, you have to go. It's a must in Baden-Baden.

The cook is top notch. The sushi is very tasty. The service and cleanliness are terrible. They mixed up the order. They didn't give me chopsticks for the sushi, and the fork was in the sauce. The toilet is in the back. You need to be accompanied by the staff to visit it.

The sushi was decent and the portions were generous. However, there was only one toilet in the restaurant, and someone from the kitchen was inside watching a video for 10–15 minutes, which was really inconvenient for customers. A bit unprofessional.

Came in to eat, realised we had to leave to catch a train; staff were fast, efficient and understanding, the definition of professional. 11/10 will be visiting again. The waitress also spoke English and was a life saver. Food was AMAZING ❤️

I agree with Engin's comment below. I don't really understand all the positive comments. Neither on Liferando nor here. My review refers solely to the order, which in my opinion really wasted time. Arrived much too late. Warm food was simply placed on top of the sushi. Sushi was completely warm. No cutlery was included, nothing. The mochi were those cheap ones from the Asian market. I could have gotten a whole pack of mochi for €5.90?! Everything spilled out in the cheap bag that was almost bursting, which makes me wonder: do you really have to save so much money that you don't get an extra bag when you have so much food to deliver?! That's crazy... If you're going to spend that much money you can at least expect that there are chopsticks included and that they don't wrap it so carelessly. That can never be blamed solely on the driver. We will definitely not order from there again. Unfortunately the good reviews on the app are completely misleading. But that seems to be the case here via Google too.

MOTHER'S DAY Instead of flowers, my children from Holland ordered the Suhsi surprise menu to my home in Baden-Baden. This was successful because it was super fresh, great presentation and very fine......*******

Eaten here 5 times in 7 days having found it. The Tom Kha is better than any Tom Kha( coconut milk soup with vegetables and chicken) I have had in Thailand and I so like Thom Kha 🤗🥰 Their Nigiri sushi is beautifully presented and delicious

The sushi at Hugo's is Absolutely delicious, fresh, and served with the utmost professionalism. I introduced my friend to sushi here, we got a tasting platter and she loved it.

We had dinner there. There were only 4 people at the bar including me and a friend, but we had to wait about 20 minutes for the waiter, who I understood was the chef, to place the order, then another waiter brought the food and the check to pay and we waited a long time again. The sushi was good.

Unfortunately, I can't understand all the positive reviews. We had ordered take-out a few days before. The meat arrived completely tough at that time. This time we ate on site and pointed it out to the owner. Result again the same completely chewy and inedible. What's particularly annoying is that we pointed this out to the owner and he blamed it on the meat supplier. Apparently the problem is known, which makes things even more annoying. It's a shame but sorry, we don't recommend it

Small and intimate place, the girl in the room was very kind, smiling and quick, really good. The food was excellent, good value for money, with 30 euros each we were satisfied. In my opinion you need to book because there aren't many seats. I recommend the ramen and the noodles (they are spicy).

Positive: 1. Price performance top and unbeaten (especially for Baden-Baden city center), but ⭐⭐ 2. Get a table straight away ⭐ Negative: 1. Were served by 3 different people in one evening. 2nd order was made a. recorded incorrectly b. recorded too late c. billed incorrectly 3. second order was only accepted after a long waiting time. 4. Staff is overwhelmed with 7 tables. 5. The toilet can only be reached via a door that goes through the kitchen. This is absolutely unacceptable. 6. Toilets are not separated and difficult to find. Conclusion: Taste great for the price, but everything else is a flop.

My absolute favorite in Baden-Baden! I have visited all the sushi restaurants in Baden-Baden and only here is everything just right! I can only strongly recommend the lunch menu! The price-performance ratio is excellent! I generally only write reviews after visiting a restaurant several times. So you can be sure that this is not a flash in the pan! From the outside the restaurant looks inconspicuous but once you eat there you will definitely become a regular customer👍🏻👍🏻

Card reader machine is not working . From the reviews I can see it not a recent problem, had to pay with paypal, so I had to bear the “bank charge” Be aware!

The Hugo Sushi Bar not only offers an excellent culinary experience, but also scores with excellent service. The food is of the highest quality, freshly prepared and authentically Japanese. Particularly worth mentioning is the central location in the middle of the city, which makes the restaurant easily accessible. Whether for a relaxed dinner or a quick bite in between – the Hugo Sushi Bar is always a good choice. Absolutely recommended for every sushi lover!

Reposting because the restaurant tried to remove my 3 star review claiming “I was not there”. They do not accept credit cards, so how can I prove months later that I ate there…instead of removing bad reviews, you should work to improve based on the criticism. Food was good, service bad and I repeat, in 2024 card payment should be available!!!

Even though there was little activity that evening, it took forever for the waiter to come. First of all: The basil lemonade from the bottle was great - so it wasn't homemade. The food was quite a failure. The gyoza starters were only fried instead of steamed and then fried. The sauce served with it was very reminiscent of diluted hoisin sauce from the Asian shop. Overall disappointing in taste. The Gunkan Sushi was ordered with nori instead of cucumber and was still prepared incorrectly. Despite demand, the tuna was not spicy, but unfortunately very lightly seasoned. The Pokebowls I ordered afterwards were a complete joke in terms of quantity and, at just under €18, the most expensive two spoonfuls of rice I've ever been served anywhere. Two spoonfuls of lightly dressed tuna and some vegetables. No thanks. Overall, the prices are completely unjustifiably high. Tourist trap. The older gentleman who cleared the room at some point accepted all this stoically and brought the bill simply and without empathy. The actual waiter was long gone by this point.

Firstly the food was okay tho we noticed some hair in the sushi rice which is very unhygienic but the service was very nice a young brown girl that gave us some advice on the meals to pick and were very delicious and perfect with the weather and the place was quite cold the boss kept on insisting to keep the door open and was being very rude to the young lady

Das essen war sehr lecker, der Service super. Einziger Kritikpunkt war, dass wir am Fenster saßen und es unter der Bank sehr sehr kalt rein gezogen hat. Wir haben uns dann auf unsere Jacken gesetzt, dann ging es einigermaßen. Wenn wir wieder mal in Baden Baden sind kommen wir bestimmt wieder.

Die Ambiente ist total gemütlich. Es ist sehr klein, jedoch dadurch total angenehm. Das Sushi ist eine 10/10. Wirklich es schmeckt total gut und wird jedes mal komplett frisch zubereitet. Vorallem die frittierten Sushis sind super lecker. Die Rote Curry Soße mit Hähnchen schmeckt auch super, das Rindfleisch hat uns leider nicht gefallen. Es ist bisschen roh und hatte einen komischen Geschmack. Gibt aber bestimmt welche, denen es schmeckt. Das Lillet bestand nur aus Eiswürfel, keine Beeren und keine Kohlensäure. Ansonsten ist der Chefkoch total freundlich und offen. Falls ihr hingehen wollt, würde ich euch zu 100% das Sushi empfehlen. Es ist in der Umgebung wirklich das Beste!

The food was amazing, there was kind service and the atmosphere is very chill. I like how the decor was following partially Japanese culture and how they served the food which is not only good, but aesthetically satisfying, also the prices are likeable. I strongly recommend it to everyone!
